There is another Japanese Adventures release with Stepper in the TAV VS04 set. The only different seems to be that the TAV VS04 Sideswipe has chrome flakes in his red paint and plastic. The two speed out, and Soundwave must navigate a highway overgrown with Dark Energon crystals while dealing with swarms of Aerialbots before they can shut off access to the Datacore. An Autobot Destroyer blocks Soundwave's path and brings the roof down, forcing him to take an alternate route. he makes his way to a security station and downloads the information on the Autobots' advance, radioing Barricade to meet him at the assigned coordinates. When Soundwave arrives, though, he finds Barricade in the middle of a shooting gallery. The Autobots are soon joined by an aerial Destroyer, but the pair make short work of it. Soundwave intercepts a data download but cuts it off quickly, and races to intercept the escaping Autobots. Weaving his way through Dark Energon crystals and moving walls (huh?), he reaches the intercept point in time, causing Ironhide and Bumblebee to skid out of control... and right into a fusion blast from Megatron.
Doesn't WFC Soundwave have an RPM figure and a Stealth Force figure? --Spongezilla 4 August 2010 (EDT)
:I'm pretty sure that RPMs and Stealth Force are exclusive to the movie universe. -- Semysane 16:14, 4 August 2010 (EDT)
::Hm, they used his Video game robot mode, and Inferno appears to be from the Classics Universe. Gah, the 2010 line is all screwed up. -- Spongezilla 00:07, 5 August 2010 (EDT)
:::I'd say the Stealth Force figure is the movie guy, even though he has the WFC robot mode and the Animated vehicle mode. His bio talks about how he used to be a satellite and how he's just come down to Earth for the first time. That points to movie continuity to me. (Meanwhile, Stealth Force Silverstreak and Hound are clearly the G1 guys.) ((This should probably go on the Stealth Force page.)) --ItsWalky 01:48, 5 August 2010 (EDT)
::::Well, given how the RPM/Speed Stars image at the bottom, and the package photography on the Stealth Force toy all represent WFC Soundwave... I'd say they're toys of this Soundwave and not ROTF Soundwave. --Detour 13:23, 9 October 2010 (EDT)
What about the new Legion Class Soundwave. Mold wise it's clearly DOTM Soundwave, but the packaging is for the Prime line with his Prime Bio on the back. helli0n 21:27, 6 June 2012 (EDT)
Could we not consider Starscream and Knock Out's exchane in Sick Mind for Soundwave's main quote? It fits with Soundwave's role as... well, the eyes and ears of the Decepticons, as the spy.
Shockwave (DOTM)
Soundwave (Prime) is silent, he doesn't show any signs of sentience when someones talks to him, except moving his head to say no or yes, he just stands and watches.
He's apparently dangerous : Airachnid seems to have given the autobots the hell of a run in previous episodes, and he owned her.
Shockwave in the movie : the same. ( well apparently in prequel comics he kills and kills and kills. )
Should we point the similarity in the Notes ? Is it on purpose that two of the most popular characters EVER bear similarities or is it a coincidence ? SnipinScientist
:Well... no. "Soundwave doesn't speak, just like Shockwave in the Dark Of The Moon movie" is really not a noteworthy thing. There's lots of Transformers who don't speak. That doesn't make them identical/homages/noteworthingly similar. --Detour 07:32, 18 February 2012 (EST)
: Decepticons who don't speak in the live-action movies are a dime a dozen. I suppose we could also note that Soundwave (Prime) is just like Movie Blackout, Bonecrusher, Ravage, Scorponok, all seven/eight/nine Constructicons, Sideways, all the protoform warriors, Crowbar, Crankcase, Hatchet... but at that point we're just being friggin' ridiculous, wouldn't you say? --ItsWalky 09:13, 18 February 2012 (EST)

The paint apps on the nose of the vehicle mode look an awful lot like eyes, and the heels of the robot mode feet hinge just under it like a beak. In a sense, his vehicle mode seems to be at least a visual homage to Laserbeak, since Prime Laserbeak looks more like a bat than anything. Worth noting in trivia? --72.215.154.250 16:38, 11 March 2012 (EDT)
