I'm quite sure that the black God Magnus was offered in TV Boy, as it was never pictured in TV Magazine. Also, there's definitely no Dark God Fire Convoy giftset. The original clear giftset was TRU Japan exclusive, and the packaging wouldn't have been used for a contest such as this. Were the black Fire Convoy and Magnus just offered together?

Side Burn
I love the idea of RID Side Burn ending up in SG after the Universe comics, but I'm having problems. Why is Side Burn his RID self, but, according to this wiki, Demolishor is just some SG version of the character?

"he already had an Earth mode" - Not quite right. He altered his form in anticipation of the Decepticons' journey to Earth, just like many other Autobots, including Goldbug and Rodimus.

"so far he's the only character, short of Crasher and Demolishor, who isn't based on someone from G1" - In other words, he's not the only character who isn't based on G1. A spoiler for Eye in the Sky, the latest club story: ----------- Fred & Billy appear, mirror counterparts to the Armada characters. The list of non-G1 characters is growing. The authors of Do Over specifically mention that G1 Cliffjumper doesn't know of a G1 counterpart to SG Demolishor. Does this mean that SG Demolishor is actually Armada Demolishor, or that SG isn't wholly alternate-G1? Just some thoughts that have been stewing in my head for a while. --Crockalley 15:21, 14 May 2009 (EDT)

So, to revive this discussion: Shouldn't he be SG Side Burn until he's revealed to be RID Side Burn? I see the evidence, but there's still some gray room. And even in the face of "it's so obvious!", isn't it kind of a spoiler to say so here for those who wouldn't have guessed? I mean, I'm fine with the trivia note, but unequivocally stating that he's RID Side Burn in the Featured Characters list makes me uncomfortable. --Crockalley 14:13, 4 July 2009 (EDT)
::Spoiler for any future story that explicitly revels that he's RID Side Burn, assuming they're building up to such a revelation. And if they're not, then I'm not so sure about absolutely stating that he's RID Side Burn. --Crockalley 18:44, 4 July 2009 (EDT)
About the Thunder Cross comment, the joke seems to have gone over the head of the wiki writer. The Japanese for Santa is サンタクロース. Scrapheap renders it as サンタークロス since he's a Transformer not familiar with human culture. The original translator redered this as "Thunder Cross," whereas I used the more transformer-y "Sander Claw" in order to make the nature of the joke more apparent in the localization. Solitarium (ソリタリュウム Soritaryūmu) is a type of ore discovered on Earth in the early 21st century. Small amounts of it can be used to craft powerful weaponry, or to give a temporary boost to the power of a Transformer.

Fiction
Robot Masters
Solitarium was littered all around Earth, with no explanation of what it was or where it came from. One thing was clear, and that was that the Decepticons wanted their hands on it.

Pack-in comic
Gigant Bomb installed a chunk of solitarium in his chest, vastly increasing his power to the point where even Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal couldn't scratch him. However, Victory Saber soon arrived and sliced the piece of solitarium in two, forcing the Decepticon to retreat. The Victory Warriors Enter!!

Cartoon
A large deposit of solitarium was discovered beneath a large city, and as a result, the city came under attack by the Decepticons. When Prime and Primal's "Double Prime Tornado" met with Beast Megatron and Rebirth Megatron's "Double Megatron Tornado", the energy produced by the attacks reacted with the Solitarium and caused it to flood out all over the city's streets. The Lio Convoy Typhoon Enters (episode)
Toys
Robot Masters
Most toys in the Robot Masters line came with a new accessory. Six of these were explicitly forged from solitarium...

*RM-04 Wrecker Hook's "Boost Hammer"
*RM-06 Air Hunter's "Sacred-Cut Sword 'Armorkiller'"
*RM-08 Wingstun's "Jamming Trident"
*RM-09 Psycho-Orb's "Calamity Defenser"
*RM-13 Smokesniper's "Radial Pod"
*RM-14 Gigant Bomb's "Pulverizer"

The Hammer, Sword, Trident and Defenser could be combined to form the Arsenal Force megaweapon. Though it is not explicitly shown, the Pod and Pulverizer can also be added to the mix.

100 sets of special clear-red versions of these four weapons were made available as a contest prize (along with red versions of the three Autobot guns), as second place in the same contest where Cybertron Base was first prize.

Each of the mail-away "Limited Black Version" Robot Masters toys came with a chrome-gold version of one of the four Arsenal Force weapons.

*RM-01 Optimus Prime - Gold Calamity Defenser
*RM-02 Megatron - Gold Sacred-Cut Sword "Armorkiller"
*RM-11 Optimus Primal - Gold Boost Hammer
*RM-12 Starscream - Gold Jamming Trident

There are other new accessories in Robot Masters that are not explicitly solitarium weapons. The nameless missile launcher included with Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Optimus Primal (and their redecoes) could be considered a solitarium weapon.

Additionally, the extra chromed weapons from the first Robot Masters Autobots are the same transparent plastic as the solitarium weapons underneath the chrome coat. These were included in the contest-prize weapon set in clear-red without the chrome coating, so perhaps those versions are forged from solitarium.

*RM-03 Mirage's "JS Laser Gun"
*RM-05 R-Blade's "Flare Gun"
*RM-07 Bound Rogue's "Type 93"

Notes
* A more detailed history for Solitarium was developed during the planning stages for Robot Masters, which explained that the substance actually came from Cybertron. When the planet was transported into Earth's orbit during the events of "The Ultimate Doom", it crossed Earth's Roche Limit (the boundary at which point a smaller planetary body will start to break up due to the effects of a larger body's gravity) before being blasted off into space, and during that time, the Solitarium was the first thing to break away from the planet. Scattered into space, some of it eventually fell on Earth, setting up the events of Robot Masters and explaining its rather sudden appearance in the early 21st century, when the story is set. Of course, precisely none of this information found its way into the finished storyline.
* It has been speculated that the new-mold weapons in Robot Masters are actually unused accessories from the Takara "LED Powers" Microman series, which was abruptly cancelled in late 2000. The last section of the line included transparent plastic weapons that could be combined to form armor or larger weapons for the individual Microman figures. The handle size is also identical between the solitarium parts and the "Shining Tector" Microman weapons.
Solitarium (ソリタリュウム Soritaryūmu) is a type of ore discovered on Earth in the early 20th century.

==Toys==

:Voice actor: Hiroshi Takemura (Japanese)

After the events of the Masterforce War on Earth, the Transtector formerly bonded to the human Ginrai—now having taken its human partner's name as its own, becoming known as Ginrai itself—joined with the Autobot forces in space, where he became good friends with Star Saber and his adopted human son, Jean Minakaze. Before long, Star Saber was appointed Supreme Commander of the Autobots, while Ginrai became commander of the Defense Force for Space Sector Two. The Brave Hero of the Universe - Star Saber Operating out of a base in the G Nebula, Ginrai's time was occupied battling the Decepticon forces under Overlord's control, so much so that Star Saber occasionally had to respond to emergencies in Sector Two, such as a Breastforce attack on planet Micro. Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior

Feeling guilty over taking up Star Saber's time in such a manner, Ginrai was quick to come to his aid when the newly reunited Breastforce combiner Liokaiser proved too much for Star Saber to handle, Unite! Liokaiserand also later when Star Saber was lured into a trap on Earth by Decepticon Emperor of Destruction Deathsaurus. Confronting Deathsaurus in battle, Ginrai was struck by a blast from the villain's Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon and badly damaged. A Deadly Battle

Despite the best medical efforts of Perceptor, Wheeljack, and Minerva, Ginrai's body was left useless and immobile. Due to a slip by Perceptor, however, he learned of the existence of a reconstruction process conceived by Star Saber that would allow him to become a power-up for the Autobot leader. Star Saber refused to allow him to submit to the process, revolted at the notion of using his close friend's body in such a way, but Ginrai insisted. Perceptor and Wheeljack brought his life functions to an end, and then restored him to Star Saber's specifications as Victory Leo. Ginrai Dies!!

An unfortunate side-effect of the process left Victory Leo's mind and body unbalanced; immediately after his transformation, he began to run wild in his lion mode, displaying a more wild, feral nature than God Ginrai ever had, leaving Jean dismayed at the apparent loss of the being he had considered his friend. Fight!! Victory Leo When Jean was trapped in a collapsed building as Victory Leo battled the Breastforce, however, his pleas for help reached Victory Leo, and some measure of balance returned to his mind, leading him to rescue Jean. {{storylink|Awaken!

When Deathsaurus threatened the Earth with orbital missile strikes if the Autobots interfered in the Decepticons' energy-gathering raids, Victory Leo had to be forcibly held back by the Brainmasters to prevent him from attacking their enemies and dooming the planet. Star Saber came to the rescue with a new unification circuit implanted within his body. With this new component, he and Victory Leo could combine their bodies into Victory Saber. In the form of a combined jet, Victory Saber soared into space at a faster rate than Deathsaurus had predicted, and then in their combined robot form, destroyed the satellite controlling the missiles.

When Jean's school was attacked by the Dinoforce, Victory Leo departed from Shuttle Base to defend it, meeting up with Star Saber on the way. They arrived on Earth in time to see Gōryū capture Jean's new mech. Unable to fight back while the Dinoforce held a hostage, Victory Leo and Star Saber had little choice but to face enemy fire, until Jean unleashed smoke grenades from his mech to escape. The Dinoforce combined into Dinoking, prompting Star Saber and Victory Leo to form Victory Saber and win the day. Jean - Defend the Campus!!

Despite his proven battle prowess, Victory Leo was still not entirely the being Ginrai had been, retaining a more violent, short-tempered personality which sometimes brought him into conflict with the other Autobots, who, in turn, did not trust him as much as they had Ginrai. When Breastforce member Leozack impersonated Star Saber, Victory Leo realized that something was wrong, but none of his teammates believed him. Even when Victory Leo tried to stop Leozack from taking Victory Saber's combination information, the Autobots thought he was a traitor, until the real Star Saber showed up and Leozack was exposed, gaining Victory Leo his comrades' trust. A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs

When Deathsaurus finally succeeded in reactivating his colossal, planet-destroying battle fortress, Victory Leo and Star Saber combined into Victory Saber and took to space to try and stop the deadly craft, only to be knocked out by its weapons and crash, unconscious, on its surface. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress! Recovering as it transformed into its "Destroyer Mode," Victory Saber attacked again but was confronted by Breastforce combiner Liokaiser. At the same time, Jean arrived in his mobile mech with information that could destroy the fortress, and Victory Saber separated so that Star Saber could follow him into the fortress. Victory Leo took on Liokaiser and defeated him by hurling him into the fortress's cannon barrel. Jean then succeeded in beginning the fortress's destruction, and Deszaras, defeated by Star Saber, set the craft on a collision course with Earth. Forming Victory Saber once again, the two heroes successfully destroyed the fortress and saved the planet. Showdown! The Fortress vs the Victory Unification
When the father of Jean and Patty Minakaze, a famed mineralogist, discovered a powerful ore called gurunium, the substance was used to build a new Autobot: Victory Leo. When Mr. Minakaze and his wife were killed in a Decepticon attack, Jean went to go live with Star Saber while Patty went with Victory Leo.

Some years later, as Star Saber fell to a combined attack from Deathsaurus, Dinoking and Liokaiser, Victory Leo at last arrived with Patty as reinforcements. His gurunium body allowed him to merge with Star Saber via the "Victory Combination", allowing the pair to become Victory Saber. The Strongest Partners, the Combination of Victory!

To combat the threat of Victory Saber, Deathsaurus forced the slaves of planet Guard to construct a mech unit for his son called King Solon. As Victory Saber arrived to free the people of Guard, Deathsaurus combined with King Solon to form King Zaras. The two foes proved to be evenly matched, with their battle raging on for hours, until Solon was momentarily distracted by Patty. Victory Saber then bested King Zaras, destroying the King Solon mech unit. Mighty! Victory Saber
Soon afterward, Victory Saber, Laster and Braver found themselves in a losing battle against Deathsaurus and Liokaiser on Earth. With the battle won, it was revealed that the Decepticons had been fighting for the survival of all the Decepticon civilians living within the Space Stronghold. When the Decepticon Gigant Bomb time-travelled to Earth's early 21st century, he discovered the ability to combine with that era's Smokesniper into the massive "high mobility fortress" Gigant Sniper (ギガントスナイパー Gigantosunaipā). With Gigant Bomb's sheer power, Smokesniper's skill, and an arsenal including a devastating missile-launching cannon as well as the solitarium Pulverizer and Radial Pod, Gigant Sniper has no reason to fear any Autobot—except the two-man combiner Victory Saber, who as luck would have it followed Gigant Bomb back from 2025.
Second, even if it were really his name, it is his Japanese name. When we have an English name for a character we use that. Having said that, I appreciate the need for him to have is own page, and maybe there aren't better alternatives. But how about one alternative: this page would work well as a sub-page of "Galvatron (G1)", such as [Edit: "Galvatron (G1)/Rhythms of Darkness!"] for instance. - Starfield 10:23, 18 November 2009 (EST)

I'm willing to say that the non-Time Wars Galvatron who showed up in the "Perchance to Dream" stories is actually Galvatron II. We know he's not Galvatron I, as he says as much, and the PtD stories are part of the Earthforce continuity, which references vaguely plans Furman had in mind for the US comic, but ultimately ended up being incompatible. Now, it's impossible to reconcile the timeline between these two iterations of the character for that reason, but I do think the PtD stuff should be in its own section on this page. --ItsWalky 15:27, 23 January 2010 (EST)
:I think... and I'm not getting them out to check right now, but I THINK... that one of the "history of Marvel UK" sections included in the Titan TPs outright says that the PtD Galvatron is Galvatron II. And while they're uncredited, I'm fairly sure Furman wrote those himself. I always thought it made a lot of sense, anyway - if one assumes that this is Galvatron II, then essentially, it's a timeline branch - in one branch, he goes to Cybertron abd the US comic storyline happens, but in the other, he instead goes to the Ark and stars in PtD instead, then Earthforce happens (because Galvatron never does his thing with Emirate Xaaron to make Unicron suspicious, causing him to speed to Cybertron instead of taking his time, leaving the room Earthforce needs to occur).- Chris McFeely 15:35, 23 January 2010 (EST)
That last trivia note
Um, I may be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure that Galvatron II didn't dimension-hop into the timeline before Galvatron I's creation. He dimension-hopped into Japanese G-2, right? Which takes place after Zone in 2015 or so? So, uh, I feel like we need to nix that bit, but I want to be sure. --ItsWalky 02:03, 24 January 2010 (EST)
:Well, Ichikawa's retcon made it so that the Galvatron who appeared in various story pages alongside Megatron and Prime was a dimension-hopping Galvatron II (we even have a fiction section for it right there) and I don't think any of those story pages were retconned into taking place after G-2. So it looks like Galvatron II did a couple hops. First to the pre-2005 point in the timeline so he could act as Megatron's subordinate in those old story pages, then he either hopped again or took the long way and waited so he coule appear in the post G-2 bios and mini comics. Either way, the Galvatron seen in those story pages was retconned into Galvatron II, and those pages take place pre-2005, so I don't think that trivia note is exactly inaccurate. --DrSpengler 08:45, 24 January 2010 (EST)
In one of the Japanese childrens book series (Kodansha no Terebi Ehon #93), the Galvatron appearing is in his toy colors all the way through. There are not two different Galvatrons within the story. Could this be considered an appearance of II, or just normal Galvatron in toy colors? HydraDW 23:35, 22 March 2012 (EDT)

I won't be making any edits myself, but here are a few details about this story that have been misinterpreted:
The Pretender is Splashdown, not Diver, per the authorial intent of Hidetsugu Yoshioka. This is why he's the same size as Waverider in shell, and not human-sized. The implication being that both Diver and Splashdown exist in J-cartoon continuity, with the major difference being that Diver uses an Earth Gather to miniaturize himself, whereas Splashdown doesn't.
The Eldedroid in this story is not controlled by Daniel, but instead imbued with a personality created based on Daniel. This is why he says "The human..." and so on.HydraDW 00:54, 9 March 2012 (EST)

The Japanese timeline included with the Kiss Players manga made note of this by saying "The Great Emperor Dark Nova, who looks very similar to Unicron, appears", though offered no further connection. Interestingly, the Star Giant suffers a fate almost identical to Unicron's. Coincidence or creative bankruptcy?

*In the second catalogue story page, Dark Nova's robot mode made its one and only appearance (and in an itty-bitty picture, at that). This mode was never used in the story pages published in TV Magazine. Additionally, this story page shows Dark Nova being defeated in an altogether different way, being ripped in two by Star Convoy as the latter drives over him in truck mode.

*"Hoshi no Kyojin" (星の巨人), the Japanese characters from which the "Star Giant" name derive, appear to be an intentional reversal of "Kyojin no Hoshi" (巨人の星), which is...the title of a classic Japanese baseball manga and anime, otherwise known as Star of the Giants. Why this was done is anyone's guess, and Dark Nova's like or dislike of baseball never really came up in the extant The Battlestars fiction.

I didn't cut and past that bio, and where else are we going to discuss that bio's contibution to canon? X-BoB58 02:50, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Just... you know, a crazy suggestion, but perhaps on a page for the character who's inhabiting Sideswipe's spare body? He's a separate dude, so he gets a separate page. --ItsWalky 02:56, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

There is some abiguity as to whether or not that whole "separate dude" thing is actually real, Walky. It's something I've been meaning to ask Doug/Ichikawa about for a while, actually.
ALSO, "e-hobby" is not a fiction. It's not a story. All it has is bios. IF e-hobby Sideswipe is in fact a nrew dude, then it goes on a new dude's page. If it's not, then the overview of that bio goes in the TOY section when the e-hobby release is discussed.
--M Sipher

"ALSO, "e-hobby" is not a fiction."
It's still canon
"He's a separate dude"
That's the first I've heard of this theory, Care to eleaberate? I thought NY Lambor represented the new body that they put his spark into after he died(offscreen) in the movie?

What e-Hobby bio? the ones he and red Alert had ages ago? they reprented, IIRC, nto reissues but specifically later incarnations of the character, but they were the same characters. TFPulp had translations and their different cardart back in the day. -Derik

It DOESN'T MATTER if it's canon... IT'S NOT FICTION as presented in this wiki and therefore should NOT go in the "Fiction" section. This is not a difficult premise at all. - M Sipher
???

I am highly skeptical of this revision. Aren't there other Japanese names that are basically just the altmode name? Why would this one have a special double meaning? Also, wouldn't Lambor and Rambo have different "o" sounds, making them not the same word after all? It just sounds like something some fan noticed once and now there are people treating it like it was intentional or meaningfgul... --Steve-o 15:28, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
:In Japanese, "bo" is "bo". The character is always pronounced the same. The only difference between Lambor and Rambo is the "ru" at the end of Lambor. Ligier/Mirage is the only other one with a reference to his car mode. Besides, considering how reflective it is of Sideswipe's character (at least the reckless part), I don't see why it couldn't get a mention. There's no confirmation on the Nine Great Demon Generals' name being a word pun yet it's included in the article. 70.55.211.39
::I don't know if this conclusion is even remotely true, but it is correct that the pronounciation is the same. Lambor is actually pronounced like "Rambo" would be in English, with the syllable "ru" at the end. --Suki Brits 17:12, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

::How about the fact that the film First Blood was released in Japan in December of 1982, less than two years before this name would have been applied to the toy? Assuming 70.55.211.39 is correct that Rambo is now a "Japanese word", would it have been that soon after the movie? Was Rambo an instant and widespread pop culture phenomenon in Japan? I would be alright with a trivia notice saying that the names are pronounced very similarly, and that this may not be coincidence, but I think actually attributing any intent is a huge stretch. Perhaps 70.55.211.39 / 70.55.211.238 is an expert on Japanese fads in the 1980s, but since I am not I am reluctant to treat Rambo like it was a popular word at the time. --Steve-o 17:52, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

:::Rambo has always been a Japanese word. First Blood was released in Japan under the name Rambo because it was noticed the character's last name was the same as their word for violence. The kanji for it is 乱暴, look it up. Anyway, I did a revision, leaving it up to speculation. Also linked to the Nine Great Demon Generals and the Autorooper to point out it wouldn't be a standalone case of Takara doing a word pun like that... I think it's interesting enough to go in the trivia, mostly because it fits the character's personality, if it was attributed to a guy like Wheeljack then I wouldn't have bothered but Sideswipe as far as his original tech specs go do portray him as violent and reckless character. 70.55.211.39 18:28, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

::::Ahhh. See, it makes a lot more sense when you explain that "rambo" has always been a Japanese word, and that it's not a pun on the name of an American movie's lead character. I am satisfied with the current wording. --Steve-o 03:24, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

I have a question: Does anyone know what happened to Sidewsipe and Sunstreaker after the movie. It would appear that neither of them actually died in battle, so did they sirvive in the animated continuity? Did they appear in seasons 3 or 4? Thanks. --Mcada 06:50, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
:Sideswipe just didn't appear in the movie to my knowledge, and Sunstreaker and his doppleganger appear to have survived, though neither, like most of the original cast, were seen much, if at all again in Season 3. --FFN 07:47, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
::Sideswipe was planned to appear in the movie but his scene didn't go beyond storyboarding. As for Sunstreaker, his only post-movie appearance was in a Headmasters episode, according to the info on wikipedia. --Detour 09:05, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

To clear up the New Year Sideswipe issue, he is the original Sideswipe, with his life functions being returned to his original body after the G2 period. This was shortened in a way on the card that became very confusing, making direct reference to his past reckless nature, but calling him a "whole new Sideswipe." I published the full version of the bio on the e-HOBBY Museum, which makes specific references to other series such as Battlestars and G2, and explains that he returned to his previous body-type with the intention of owning up to his past faults. Both NY Sideswipe and Red Alert are ostensibly based in the post G2 period that later became the setting for many of e-HOBBY's stories.

This is why he says "The human..." and so on.
