The captions are like a fun little reward regular contributors get to have for all the hard work they normally do. Not all captions on the wiki are jokes, but the ones that aren't are few and far between. This is because if all the captions were serious, most of the pictures on the wiki would have an extremely obvious caption that has no need to be there.
