'''As the Autobots race to save Jungle Planet, Optimus Prime and Galvatron have their final battle.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Image:Cyb_ep50_i_dream_of_starscream.jpg|left|thumb|220px]]
With the [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] destroyed and peace returned to the universe, [[Coby Hansen|Coby]], [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] and [[Lori]] relax on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. While Coby is working on his [[Cobybot]], Bud sneaks up behind him and jumps on him, leading the two brothers to run around chasing each other in good spirits. Lori shrugs at their childishness, before noticing that [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] appears distracted. After all, [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] is still out there...

Galvatron is, in fact, much closer than the [[Autobot]] leader realizes, staring down at Cybertron from his vantage point on an asteroid floating above the planet. Wondering aloud if this is truly to be the end of his ambition, Galvatron's attention is suddenly drawn to a sparkle of light above his head. As he looks up, the light flares around him, and he suddenly finds himself on a burning landscape, standing before the towering form of [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]], who sits upon a throne flanked by [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] and [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]]. Starscream mocks Megatron for giving up, inciting the [[Decepticon]] commander's rage, at which point the burning world fades away, and Megatron finds himself on the asteroid once more. The sparkle of light floats nearer, and is revealed to be Starscream's [[crown]], which Galvatron takes in his hands. Reflecting on Starscream's words, he crushes the crown, and swears to finish things once and for all.

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_scourge_shake.jpg|right|thumb|220px]]

Down on Cybertron, the Autobots are dealing with the last lingering remnant of the chaos wreaked upon the universe by the black hole: the [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] has been pulled out of its normal place in the cosmos, and must be restored. Working together as a massive construction crew, the Autobots disassemble and rebuild the engines of the colossal starship, the [[Ark (Cybertron)|Ark]], on Jungle Planet's surface, intending to use their thrust to push the planet through a [[space bridge]], back to its rightful place in the universe. [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]] thanks Optimus Prime for all that he has done for him, and all the non-Jungle-Planet-native Transformers return to Cybertron so that the planet can depart. The engines are fired up and all is going well, until Galvatron comes streaking down out of the sky and blasts his way through one of the four boosters, throwing off the planet's trajectory and causing it to careen towards Cybertron itself. No sooner are the Autobots aware of this crisis than Galvatron warps into their command centre on Cybertron, intent on finishing their war one way or another. Despite [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s protestations, Optimus Prime instructs the other Autobots to go and deal with the booster problem, leaving him to handle Galvatron one-on-one.

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_transformers_together.jpg|left|thumb|220px]]

The Autobots rush to Jungle Planet, where they quickly and effectively manage to extinguish the fires blazing around the rocket. Just as this task is accomplished, however, the struts supporting the damaged booster give way, and the rocket begins to topple over. Scourge rashly leaps into action, attempting to push the monolithic engine back into place using nothing but his own strength, and [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Leobreaker]] soon joins him. All the Autobots follow their lead, and with the addition of the towering warriors of [[Gigantion]], the rocket's collapse is halted. However, it still needs to be righted back to its original placement to stop the collision with Cybertron, and the Autobots do not have the strength to do so. To make matters worse, [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]], [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]], [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] all turn up, apparently poised to take down the Autobots when they are busy supporting the booster and unable to fight back. In truth, however, the four former ne'er-do-wells are here to help save the planets as well, and all start pushing the rocket alongside the Autobots! More and more allies arrive through the [[space bridge]], as the Transformers of Earth, along with the natives of Jungle Planet, come to lend their strength to the effort. Together as one, the Transformers all glow with the power of Primus, and the rocket is thrust back into its correct position, propelling the Jungle Planet safely past Cybertron, through the space bridge, and home again.

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_lightning_storm.jpg|right|thumb|220px]]

As this triumphant battle against gravity is waged, Galvatron and Optimus Prime's own battle was been growing ever fiercer. Prime looks to be on the ropes until Galvatron vows to kill all his followers once he is done with Prime, a threat that galvanized Prime into action. Seizing his perennial foe, Prime takes flight, and carries them both to one of Cybertron's moons, where they watch as the Jungle Planet is saved. As their fight continues, the other Autobots soon come flying in to support their leader, and Galvatron exploits their presence to strike Prime where it will hurt the most. Unleashing a storm of purple lightning, Galvatron brings all the Autobots to their knees, then manifests a sword of dark energy which he uses to cleave one of Optimus's wings off. As he stands poised to deliver the killing blow...

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_rhisling.jpg|left|thumb|220px]]

...the glowing [[Planet Map]] suddenly flies from Bud's pocket, and blocks his blade! The light from the map floods the lunar battlefield, and Optimus Prime sees at its heart the spectral form of [[Vector Prime]], who reminds his old friend that he is watching over him from beyond the veil of time, and will always be there for him when his need is greatest. And this time, Vector Prime tells Optimus, he has brought a gift...

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_final_blow.jpg|right|thumb|220px]]

As the light of the map fades and the moon comes back into view, the luminescent globe of the Planet Map hangs between Prime and Galvatron, as the Decepticon leader demands to know what is happening. Optimus answers by reaching into the sphere before him, and from it, drawing Vector Prime's gift: his mighty sword, [[Rhisling]]! Galvatron is hurled aside by a strike from this blade of blades, and the two leaders power up for what can only be their final attack. Glowing with the golden energy of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], Optimus charges at Galvatron and impales his eternal enemy on Vector Prime's sword. A huge explosion results, and the Autobots wait nervously as the dust clears to see the outcome. As they return to visibility, Optimus Prime is standing over the collapsed Galvatron, who, even with a sword run through him, still reaches his hand outward towards Prime, claiming it will never be over. Unflinching, Optimus Prime bids Galvatron farewell...and the Decepticon's body disintegrates into ashes that blow away on the lunar winds. Moments later, an exhausted Prime collapses to his knees, as the other Autobots rush to their victorious commander's aid.
==Notes==

===Differences with ''Galaxy Force''===
[[Image:Cyb_ep50_animation_comparison.jpg|right|250px|thumb]]
*As in the previous episode, the landscape of the reborn Cybertron differs between the two versions of the show. ''Galaxy Force'' shows the planet with organic trees and fields of grass that are part of the background painting, whereas ''Cybertron'' replaces the trees with apparently-[[technorganic]] counterparts, and the fields with swathes of green circuit boards, both CGI-animated,
*In ''Cybertron'', Scourge thanks Lori for all that she has done; in ''Galaxy Force'', he tells her that he will come and visit her on Earth.
* In ''Cybertron'', Red Alert attempts to shut down the rockets in order to halt the planet's movement, only to have a short circuit increase their power and speed, hastening the danger. Conversely in ''Galaxy Force'', getting the power back up was his ''intention''.
*In its final great moment of [[Burning Justice]], this episode sees the entire Transformer race glow with a magic golden aura that suddenly makes them strong enough to push the rocket back into place. Steadfast to the last, ''Galaxy Force'' does not remark upon this, treating it as perfectly normal, while ''Cybertron'' slips in the explanation that they are glowing with the power of Primus that exists in all of them.
*The tone of Prime and Galvatron's final battle following Vector Prime's appearance is much more "victorious" and "exciting" in ''Cybertron'', as heroic music swells up, and after the final blow is struck, Prime assures his troops that he is okay. In ''Galaxy Force'', by comparison, the music for the fight is somber and dramatic, and the final seconds of the episode are silent.
{{--}}
<!--===Animation and/or technical glitches===
* At one point, [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]] speaks with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s voice. Didn't see this anywhere. More specific description?-->

===Transformers references===
* The opening moments of this episode, as Coby works on his [[Cobybot]] and Bud scares him by sneaking up from behind, mirroring exactly the original animation added to ''Galaxy Force''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Ice#Miscellaneous trivia|third opening sequence]] of Coby working on his motorbike, down to the movements of the characters' hands. About the only difference is the clothes they're wearing.
* Starscream, Sideways and Soundwave were blasted into another dimension in "[[Showdown (episode)|Showdown]]". Their appearance in this episode is fairly confusing, as they appear to be reaching out across the dimensions somehow.
* Galvatron and Optimus deliver several lines of paraphrased dialogue from ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', all quoted above. ''Cybertron'' is no stranger to pilfering movie dialogue, but while "I still function" has been heard in the show before, used by Starscream back in "[[Showdown (episode)|Showdown]]", and "Why throw away your life so recklessly?" has been heard before in "[[Fury]]", "Only one shall stand" has never been used in the show before.

===Real-world references===
[[Image:Cybprime exkaiser.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Mine's bigger.]]
* The battle between Optimus Prime and Galvatron contains several visual references to the final showdown between Great Exkaizer and Dinogeist from the anime series ''[[Brave|Brave Exkaiser]]''. Both clashes take place on a moon, and the heroes both wield massive swords that are drawn in an identically dynamic fashion, glow golden as they deliver the final blow to the villain, and have their helmets shattered during the fight.
{{--}}
===Trivia===
[[Image:Cyb_ep50_death_cannon.jpg|right|thumb]]
* This is the only episode in ''Galaxy Force'' to not have [[commercial bumper]]s featuring a character/characters from the series. The only indication of leading to commercial and returning is the ''Galaxy Force'' logo appearing on screen in the upper-right corner.
*In the grand Japanese ''Transformers'' tradition of modes like [[Sixshot]]'s "Wingwolf", [[Overlord (G1)|Overlord]]'s "space jet" and [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]]'s "dakatsu", the weapon configuration Galvatron adopts in this episode (named his "Death Cannon" in ''Galaxy Force'', pictured at right) is not part of the toy's instructions, but was created by the cartoon's production staff after fiddling with the figure. As such, it's entirely possible to configure the toy into this form.
* During the fire-fighting scenes of this episode, there is a brief moment where Vector Prime's map falls to the ground and catches Bud's attention. This will be a familiar staple to you if you've watched a lot of anime, since in Japan, for something to fall over or break without anyone touching it or any form of outside interference—a teacup cracking, a shoelace breaking, or the family shrine falling—has usually been considered as a bad omen, or at least a warning. ''Transformers'' has even had a prior example, in the ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' episode "[[Cramp]]", when [[Alexis]]'s [[Good Luck Necklace|necklace]] cracked at the moment of Starscream's death.

==Notes==

===Differences with ''Galaxy Force''===
{{--}}
<!--===Animation and/or technical glitches===
* At one point, [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]] speaks with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s voice. Didn't see this anywhere. More specific description?-->

===Transformers references===

===Real-world references===
{{--}}
===Trivia===

==Synopsis==
While debating the ethical dilemma of an auto parts store with [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]], [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]]'s old war wound tingles, making him think that trouble's ahead. Just then, the lights in the city go out, and the trio is confronted by a spiked muscle car with red headlamps. Thinking it's a human out for a joyride, the [[Autobot|Autobots]] go after the car. At a critical moment in the chase, Ratchet experiences a flashback to his days in the [[Great War (Animated)|Great War]]….

[[Image:Ratchetanimatedthrill.jpg|left|170px|thumb|PTSD-bait in the making.]]

''Field tech Ratchet is in the middle of a war zone with a Decepticon barrage falling down around him. Communicating with [[Supreme Commander]] [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]], he says he found the object of his mission, an Autobot intelligence officer named [[Arcee (Animated)|Arcee]]. She is badly damaged and in need of immediate repair. Ratchet uses his [[EMP]] generator to deactivate her temporarily, allowing him to replace her leg, despite Arcee's concern that the EMP could wipe her [[memory core]].''

Ratchet flashes back into the present and is nearly run over by the muscle car, but is pushed out of the way by Bumblebee. The Autobots regroup at headquarters and Optimus inquires of Ratchet's well-being, but the crusty old bot doesn't want to talk. Meanwhile, the [[Television|TV]] news is broadcasting a live, high-speed chase between the police and the strange car, and Ratchet experiences another flashback.

[[Image:Lockdown both hands.jpg|right|170px|thumb|SUCKER-PUNCH!]]

''In the middle of the repair to Arcee, Ratchet loads her up and starts to evacuate the area, only to be caught and smacked down by a bounty hunter.''

Ratchet's thoughts are snapped back into the present as the Autobots begin the chase after the muscle car anew. Ratchet finally recognizes the muscle car as an old nemesis, [[Lockdown (Animated)|Lockdown]]. The past haunts him again….

''Ratchet and Arcee are now prisoners of Lockdown, who explains his work as a bounty hunter and his lack of allegiance to either side in the war. He also says he has a fondness for taking weapons and parts from his quarry as trophies and upgrades. This time, he's taken Ratchet's EMP generator.''

Flash forward to the present, and Prime finally forces Lockdown to stop. The bounty hunter incapacitates Prime with the EMP weapon, and they both disappear. In his hideout, Lockdown explains to a tied-up Optimus Prime about the bounty on his head for killing [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. Optimus explains that he didn't kill him, but Lock responds by saying that he doesn't care as long as he gets his bounty. Then he gets to work on removing Prime’s grapplers and installing them in his own body.

The Autobots scan the city for Prime, but don't have much luck until [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] finds that Lockdown's [[Death's Head (Animated)|ship]] is sitting in the middle of the old downtown area, cloaked as an ordinary warehouse. Before they roll out, Ratchet refuses to join the rescue mission, though without explanation.

[[Image:TFA Thrill Hunt Prowl Lockdown.JPG|left|170px|thumb|Everybody was kung-fu fighting! Those cats were fast as lightning.]]

Finished with his chop job on Optimus, Lockdown converses with [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]], who is evidently the one who put the price on Prime's head. Lockdown requests payment first, but Blitzwing promises that he will be most satisfied with his upgrades—provided the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]] are satisfied with the results. The Autobots arrive at Lockdown's ship and attack. Lockdown dispatches [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] and Bumblebee without much trouble. However, Prowl is a bit harder for Lockdown to handle until the bounty hunter drops him with an EMP blast. Before he can take any more trophies, Ratchet arrives and confronts Lockdown. The bounty hunter recognizes the old bot as the source of his EMP generator, and Ratchet vows that he'll never take another another trophy again, but the medic too falls to the EMP. When Lockdown thinks he's beaten the doc-bot, Ratchet reveals he was playing dead, being immune to the effects of his own weapon, and throws Lockdown around with his magnetic powers, knocking him unconscious. Inside Lockdown’s ship, Ratchet finds Prime and frees him, but Lockdown—himself "playing possum" after Ratchet's attack—stops them from leaving. Ratchet takes him out again, and when he’s pinned down, Ratchet forcibly removes the parts Lockdown stole from Prime. He remarks that he would have used his EMP generator to remove it before, but he no longer has them. Lockdown offers the generator if Ratchet will use. The act brings on another flashback.

''In order to avoid interrogation from Megatron, Arcee asks Ratchet to use his EMP generator on her to wipe her memory core, which contains critical access codes for the Autobots. When Ratchet and Lockdown struggle for the device, it overloads and goes off. Ratchet and Arcee leave Lockdown's ship just before some part of it detonates, but when Ratchet inquires of her condition, Arcee doesn't know who she is or where they are, a result of the EMP blast.''

[[Image:TFA Thrill Hunt Ratchet EMP Generator ship.JPG|right|170px|thumb|She cannae take the pressure!]]

In the present, Ratchet mockingly asks Lockdown if he wants the generator to ease his pain, while Lockdown tightens his grip on a rod. As Ratchet moves to take the EMP generator back, Lockdown prepares to strike, but Ratchet hits Lockdown with a magnetic blast before he can strike. Ratchet denounces Lockdown for turning a medical tool into a weapon, and zaps Lockdown's ship. He escapes with Optimus as the ship crashes into a river.

Back at headquarters, Ratchet repairs Prime’s grapplers and then finally opens up to Optimus about his war experiences.
'''Lockdown''': Yeah, speaking of payment, I'm gonna need mine first. <br>
'''Icy Blitzwing''': Patience, my bounty-hunting friend. You will not be disappointed with your upgrades, provided I am not disappointed with your results.<br>
'''Random Blitzwing''': Ooooh! I wanna see him turn into a fire truck! Can I? Can I, ha-ha, can I? Ahahahahahahahaha!
:—Blitzwing, Blitzwing and Blitzwing negotiate with Lockdown.
"It's not that I don't want to remember. I have to remember… for those who can't."<br>

==Notes==
===Continuity errors===
* During the news broadcast sequence, if the EMP is enough to shut off the lights in Lockdown's wake, how are the pursuing police vehicles not affected? Is he just projecting the EMP out to both sides?

===Animation errors===
* After Bulkhead says "Hey no fair!", Ratchet transforms into robot mode and skids on the ground. Ratchet's pupils are black but when he stops skidding, his pupils turn white.
* Blitzwing changes from Hothead to Icy personality abruptly and without either a transition animation or a sound effect .

===Transformers references===
* Bumblebee's new horn plays the traditional melody of the phrase "Ro-bots in Dis-guise"!

===Real-world References===
* The TV anchorman seen in this episode appears to be an ''Animated'' version of [[wikipedia:Ron_Burgundy|Ron Burgundy]]. Stay classy, Cybertron.
* Ratchet's line, "Don't call me sir. I work for a living," is a common sentiment of sergeants and other non-commissioned officers in the armed forces.
* Ratchet's other line, "I'm a medi-bot, not a field commander!" is based on Dr. McCoy's oft-repeated line from [[wikipedia:Star_Trek|''Star Trek'']], "I'm a doctor not a…".

===Trivia===
* This episode reveals how the right half of Ratchet's chevron got broken and why his left arm has a missing piece. Both were caused by Lockdown. However, it would seem that it [['Bots of Science|wasn't the first time his chevron snapped off]].
* [[Susan Blu]] reprises her role of Arcee from the Generation 1 cartoon series.
* This is the first episode in which we see ''Animated'' Cybertron, albeit in a flashback.
* This is also the first episode to not feature any of the main [[human]] cast.
* This episode seems to refute [[Fandom|fans]] who had worried the series would be too kid-oriented, as it features a heavy atmosphere, post-traumatic shock, guilt, suggested torture, and quite obvious pain being inflicted by a good guy on a villain, pretty much for no other reason but revenge.
*As Prime and Ratchet talk at the end, you hear the saddest rendition of "More than Meets The Eye" ever.
*Prowl's wheels make the same noise as Lockdown's chainsaw.
*Blitzwing's face-swapping feature makes a different noise in this episode than in other episodes.

Ramjet managed to do fairly well in the [[space bridge]] battle. He never told his Autobot targets that he wasn't about to shoot them. He was not trapped by [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] in a pair of [[stasis cuffs]], and after that didn't happen he wasn't helped to escape by the [[Sunstorm (Animated)|Sycophant]], and he never denied that any of this occurred. When [[Omega Supreme (Animated)|Omega Supreme]] came on the scene, Ramjet did not try to tell the giant his stabilizing servo was unbolted. Had he done so, Omega would have fallen for it and not just promptly kicked the clone a few miles away. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part II}}

Later, a stasis-cuffed [[Lugnut]] wasn't helped at all out of his plight by Ramjet. And even if that ''had'' happened, the clone was being completely honest when he promised not to tell Megatron about Lugnut's humiliating failure. Long after that, [[Lockdown (Animated)|Lockdown]] didn't capture the disarmed and helpless Liar for [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] in exchange for a gyro-stabilizer. However, Lockdown didn't double-cross Sentinel when Ramjet didn't offer the bounty hunter a better deal earlier. Ramjet didn't break free and stasis cuff the alert Autobot on the spot. As Ramjet didn't try to get away with the armed and dangerous Sentinel, he wasn't knocked out of the sky by [[Jetfire (Animated)|Jetfire]] and [[Jetstorm (Animated)|Jetstorm]], who weren't accompanied by [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Jazz (Animated)|Jazz]]. Even if they did, the battle didn't go in Ramjet's favor and he didn't use Sentinel as a shield against their attacks. Ramjet didn't try to escape again, but Optimus didn't cover his face with foam. Had that happened, he wouldn't have dropped Sentinel head-first into the ground. After [[Safeguard (Animated)|Safeguard]] didn't blast him out of the sky with a fireball, Optimus and Jazz didn't push a scoreboard on top of him. If they did, it wouldn't have hurt one bit, and he wouldn't have been stasis cuffed and hauled into custody. {{storylink|Five Servos of Doom}}
Later, Sentinel Prime didn't steer his ship through a stormy nebula. Nor did it revive [[Swindle (Animated)|Swindle]], who wasn't still immobilized from his own slow-down ray. From there, Swindle didn't free and re-arm Ramjet along with the other captured Decepticons. Swindle also didn't give [[Sunstorm (Animated)|Sunstorm]] and Ramjet strangely familiar helmets to tell them apart. Afterwards, Ramjet and the Decepticons didn't manhandle the Elite Guard. And if they did, they would've captured them before Sentinel sent a coded SOS to Optimus Prime. Fortunately, Optimus didn't appear out of Swindle's chest, and didn't send Ramjet and other Decepticons into chaos. The battle didn't spill out of the ship, where [[Jetstorm (Animated)|Jetstorm]] didn't somehow bombard him with a tornado. Ramjet also wasn't present when [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] didn't capture the Autobots and didn't try to freeze them in the decontamination unit. If he was, he certainly wasn't frozen when Jazz didn't booby-trap decontamination unit. He ultimately wasn't re-captured and sent to Cybertron, where he wasn't paraded around with the jubilant Sentinel. It's just a coincidence that he has burgundy wings and a white helmet. He certainly wasn't finally called "Ramjet" in ''[[AllSpark Almanac]],'' which is a terrible book nobody enjoys. Also, the name "Liar Starscream" was definitely not on his character model sheet.
*Ramjet's colors are entirely consistent. At no point does his off-white ever look cream.

*he isn't the only clone that didn't get a toy

* Ramjet was not given his Generation 1 counterpart's [[Conehead |cone-shaped helmet]] in "[[Decepticon Air]]". He didn't get it from anybody, especially not [[Swindle (Animated)|Swindle]]. Absolutely not.

*Ramjet's nosecone is extremely brittle. It hasn't been reinforced at all. There's no way it can survive any midair collisions.

* This entire article is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The fact that it's about Ramjet (who ''isn't'' a big fat liar) has nothing to do with anything. So there.

* We never said that this article spoke truth. You can't prove anything!
