If any of you [[Decepticon]]s aren't willing to believe that, then he's here to teach you a lesson, and what this lesson's going to be, is that Roadhandler's going to lay the smackdown on you. He's going to smack you down, and when he's done you'll know that his micro size has the power to surprise. He'll surprise you all, and any of you soft-hearted leaders can just go home to your momma-bots, because Roadhandler's in it to win it, and he's not going to pull punches just because you're threatening to cry about it. So go home and cry, and don't you tell Roadhandler to go back on his Micromaster buddies, either, because Roadhandler is a bot-pounding machine who knows who his friends are. Stay in school, kids, and don't do drugs!

''As leader of the Micromaster Race Car Patrol, Roadhandler was assigned to plant mines which would destroy a [[Decepticon]] installation. The purpose of this mission was to stop the Decepticons' experimentation on their fellow Autobot Micromasters in the [[Battle Patrol]], previously captured during a scouting mission. Roadhandler's orders did not permit him to attempt to rescue the Battle Patrol, who were considered a lost cause. Upon arrival on-site however, he found himself unable to go through with his mission. Both the rest of the Race Car Patrol and the Off Road Patrol agreed that their mission felt wrong, and instead the group braved the installation. But breaking into the facility proved too easy... Turns out the Decepticons had already successfully reverse-engineered Micromaster technology, and were now using the Autobots to test their new Air Strike Patrol. Thinking quickly, Roadhandler pretended that the mine he had brought along was still active, and dropped it in a "panic." With their opponents distracted by the apparent peril, the Autobots beat them down and absconded with their comrades. Upon his return to base, Roadhandler submitted himself to whatever punishment awaited him for his disobedience. In response to [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Optimus Prime]]'s request for reinforcements on [[Earth]], Xaaron sent over the Race Car Patrol and [[Off Road Patrol]]. Upon making contact with the group, Optimus's [[binary bonding|binary bonded]] partner, [[Hi-Q]], was dismayed by their small size. Offended, Roadhandler explained that the Micromasters had downsized to conserve energy, and would be tough enough to face any Decepticon. Taking him at his word, Prime informed Roadhandler's group on a pair of recent news reports involving giant creatures spotted in the [[New Jersey (Earth)|New Jersey]] swamps and unusual storm activity consolidating over Manhattan. Believing there was a Decepticon link between the stories, the Race Car Patrol went to patrol the nearby roads.

They crossed paths with [[Cecilia Santiago]], a reporter already investigating recent developments. Roadhandler took her in to his vehicle mode to question her. Unfortunately, she was put off immediately by the mannequin propped up to pass as his driver, and assumed that he was in cahoots with the Decepticons. He convinced her that this wasn't the case, and though Roadhandler was ready to dump Cecilia as soon as he learned where the Decepticons were due to strike, she proved instrumental in getting the Race Car Patrol to their destination. Being newcomers to Earth, they weren't familiar with such concepts as toll fares, traffic lanes, and the like. The group located [[Iguanus (G1)|Iguanus]] in [[New York City]] as he was planting an [[Electrostator|energy-collecting device]] on top of the [[Empire State Building]]. Once more, Roadhandler told Cecilia that her assistance was no longer needed, and this time around managed to ditch her. But without her help, the group once more ran into difficulty navigating the human world. A couple of police officers, mistaking them for humans in costumes, attempted to bar the Micromasters' way, forcing Roadhandler and his teammates to tie them to nearby lampposts to proceed. Next, the group was confounded by a lack of "vacuum lifts" within the Empire State Building, and had difficulty operating the humans' elevators. They finally managed to reach the roof, only to find that Cecilia had beaten them there, and had been taken captive by Igunanus. Roadhandler prevented her from falling to her death, then knocked away Iguanus's device. The Decepticons were denied any energy from the storm, and Iguanus was sent plummeting down to the street. After their shared experience, Roadhandler and Cecilia became friends, and the Micromasters decided to take up residence in New York. {{storylink|King Con!}}

In repayment for Cecilia's help, Roadhandler was obliged to appear on [[New York Talks|her television talk show]]. In a brief interview, Roadhandler denounced Optimus Prime as out of touch, and noted that Prime had always failed to do what Roadhandler had accomplished in only a few weeks; earning the respect and trust of humans. Roadhandler's fellow guest [[Jake "The Jackhammer" Jackson]], a professional wrestler, used the show to issue a challenge to Roadhandler to a wrestling match. Although this challenge was clearly meant as a publicity stunt, Roadhandler used the opportunity to grant himself a new forum with which to demonstrate Autobot virtues to a larger human audience. Roadhandler became an instant celebrity, complete with his own adoring [[Roadhandler's Robo-Maniacs|fan club]]. Decepticon leader [[Zarak (G1)|Lord Zarak]] decided to sully Roadhandler's image by forcing him to throw a fight with [[Storm Cloud (G1)|Storm Cloud]], and held members of Roadhander's fan club hostage to ensure his compliance. Once the humans were freed by Roadhandler's fellow Autobots, Roadhandler's victory over Storm Cloud earned him even more adulation from the humans; but what had happened to his fans proved to him that no human who had befriended an Autobot could ever be safe. To distance the humans from himself, Roadhandler made a speech in which he seemed to denounce humanity. Apparently older and tougher than most Micromasters, Roadhandler enjoyed a certain position of authority thanks to his impressive driving skill and no-nonsense attitude. When [[Big Daddy (G1)|Big Daddy]] threatened to lead a Micromaster exodus from the Autobots, Roadhandler refused to jump on the bandwagon with the [[Hot Rod Patrol]]. {{storylink|Destined for Nothing}} Later, Big Daddy confronted Roadhandler in [[Little Iacon]] about not steppin' up, so Roadhandler had to school him on the ways of the world. Having fought on Earth during the [[Great War (G1)|Great War]], Roadhandler and the Race Car Patrol took up arms once more in the 24th century to fight the [[Resistance]] during the [[Grand Uprising]]. They and the [[Air Strike Patrol]] were captured by the Resistance when their battalion retreated from the [[Mithril Sea]] without them. The Micromaster POWs were sent to [[Protihex]], where they were forced into a series of [[Gladiatorial combat|gladiatorial]] [[Games]] that pitted Autobots against Decepticons to recreate the battles of ancient Earth.

In an early Game, Roadhandler singlehandedly eliminated [[Metrobomb]] and [[Skyhopper]] while busting through a Decepticon roadblock. He survived the experience and participated in the final round of the tournament. There, [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] dissident [[Preditron]] discovered that Roadhandler had died after sustaining injuries. Devastator beat Dai Atlas to the punch thanks to the intervention of [[King Poseidon]], who caught the Autobot leader with a chain weapon. Devastator handed the Zodiac to Poseidon and took the chain from him, intending to kill Atlas. But Dai Atlas drove forwards using the treads in his feet and then transformed into his drill form and smashed through into a wall, killing Devastator in a flood of hot lava.

Free now, he chased King Poseidon to the surface, where he wrestled the Zodiac away from him. Dai Atlas was one of the old Cybertronians dating back to the era of [[Nova Prime]] 8 million years ago. In [[Old Cybertronian]] his name was "Dei Atlas", meaning "God Map", which reflected his desire to find the legendary [[Knights of Cybertron]], a group of Cybertronians who supposedly made Cybertron perfect before leaving to spread enlightenment and peace to the rest of the universe. {{storylink|Transformers: The Death of Optimus Prime|The Death of Optimus Prime}}

A strict believer in pacifism and in [[Primus]], Dai Atlas was part of Nova Prime's inner circle and was present when he located the legendary [[Crystal City]] and its guardian, [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]], allowing him to bring about a new [[Golden Age|era of peace]] on Cybertron. With time, an increasingly ambitious Nova began planning for aggressive expansion into space to "free" other races from "the tyranny of will" as well as authorizing [[combiner]] experiments in the name of [['Til all are one|all becoming one]], both of which horrified Dai Atlas. When Crystal City was destroyed in a battle between Omega Supreme and [[Jhiaxus (G2)|Jhiaxus's]] creation, [[Monstructor (G1)|Monstructor]], he confronted Prime with the consequences, but was rebuffed and told he had lost his place on the ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]''. Omega then approached Atlas to show him something he hadn't trusted Nova with: the location of [[Metrotitan (Zone)|Metrotitan]], one of the last [[Titan (IDW)|Titans]] on Cybertron. Following the departure and subsequent disappearance of the ''Ark'', Dai Atlas became a [[Senate|senator]] in the new government that formed on Cybertron under the new Prime, [[Nominus Prime|Nominus]]. Although initially wary of his colleague [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]], on the grounds of his apprenticeship to the amoral Jhiaxus, the two came to develop a friendship around their shared dislike of the prominent senator [[Proteus]]'s [[functionism]]. Shockwave confided in Dai Atlas with his worries that Cybertron would face a critical resource shortage thanks to the planet's development into a metropolis, and the two would both champion the cause together.

Eventually, Shockwave's continued dissidence against Proteus and the rest of the Senate would lead to him being subjected to the [[empurata]] ritual and a [[mnemosurgery|mnemosurgical]] "personality inversion", turning him into a coldly logical person who accused Atlas of lying about the resource crisis so as to allow his own experiments into the matter to continue unfettered. Concerned, Dai Atlas asked another former friend of Shockwave, the upstart police officer [[Optimus Prime (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Orion Pax]], to try and contact the other senator and talk sense into him.

This effort failed, and before long Dai Atlas, along with the rest of the Senate, was summoned to an emergency meeting in [[Kaon (polity)|Kaon]] regarding the burgeoning [[Decepticon]] movement. Before he could leave, however, Shockwave visited him at his home. Unbeknownst to Atlas, Shockwave had been recruited by the Decepticons and was aware that the Senate would be massacred at the meeting. Through some vestige of sentimentality, Shockwave attacked his former friend to ensure he did not travel to Kaon, sparing him the fate of the rest of the Senate. {{storylink|Shockwaves}}

Rather than join the "new Senate" assembled under the ascendant [[Zeta Prime]], Dai Atlas went on to form a group dedicated to preserving Cybertron's ancient culture, naming it the [[Circle of Light]] after Omega Supreme's prediction. The Decepticons, now holding Kaon, continued their campaign of terror, but were halted temporarily after Zeta's death and the [[Matrix of Leadership]]'s selection of Orion Pax to become Optimus Prime. In spite of the new Prime's successes, Atlas considered him a warmonger and refused to accept his authority. When he refused to let Prime use his Circle of Light as recruiters for the [[Autobot]] army, Prime warned him that pacifism would only mark him as a target for the [[Decepticon]]s. In response, Atlas proved himself to be neither pacifistic nor weak by destroying a group of [[auto-combatant]]s, explaining that while he didn't believe in violence, he was primarily a patriot, not a pacifist. {{storylink|Faces of Darkness}}

When Optimus Prime responded to a Decepticon attack on the [[Toraxxis mega-refinery]], Dai Atlas came with him as an observing non-combatant and ended up witnessing his arrest of [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]. He suggested that they hear Grimlock out and give him and his [[Dinobot (G1)|Dynobots]] safe passage off Cybertron like they wanted, but Prime refused, causing the situation to escalate. Although Grimlock was eventually talked down, [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], current leader of the Decepticons, triggered the detonation of the refinery, {{storylink|Rage (IDW)|Rage}} causing widespread devastation and compounding the energon crisis. After hearing Prime vow to restore unity to the planet at the memorial service for the disaster, Dai Atlas attempted to convince Optimus that that Cybertron was a lost cause and that seeking new energy reserves on other worlds was the best option. The Autobot leader instead reaffirmed his decision to continue to fight for Cybertron. Dai Atlas's utopia was threatened by its first serpent when an idealistic swordsman named [[Wing (G1)|Wing]] broke their laws and brought a Decepticon into their midst after an encounter with Slavers on the planet's surface. Although Dai Atlas and [[Axe (G1)|Axe]] condemned Wing for this mistake, he insisted [[Drift (G1)|Drift]] would not be trouble. {{storylink|Drift issue 2|Drift #2}} This proved to be false weeks later when Drift stormed into the meeting chambers and announced he had made a deal with the Slavers to sell them out for his own freedom. But, um...he didn't mean it! He hoped to stall long enough to arm the Knights of the Circle with knowledge in advance of the Slaver's attack, and catch them off-guard. Dai Atlas was furious at Drift for forcing them into a position where they'd have to fight to protect their peace, the very thing they had long criticized the Autobots for doing. When other Knights seemed prepared to listen to Drift, he refused to allow them access to the weapons vault, willing to do anything he could to ensure the Crystal City remained secret and at peace. Dai Atlas ultimately relented, but refused to have any part in the battle. As the oldest of the Knights, he had seen his share of warfare, and dreaded seeing it again. {{storylink|Drift issue 3|Drift #3}}

Safe inside Crystal City, Dai Atlas wrestled with his decision as he watched his friends and comrades battle from afar. The death of Wing at the hands of the lead Slaver was too much for him to bear, and it rekindled his fighting spirit. Dai Atlas raised Crystal City from beneath the sands and led the full compliment of Cybertronians into battle against their foes. The tide of battle turned quickly with these reinforcements, and the citizens of Crystal City soon stood triumphant. Dai Atlas declared that the Circle of Light would no longer hide in secret, and that the Knights would go forth and allow their message to be heard. Dai Atlas's certain belief in the Knights of Cybertron was one of the reasons Drift used to try and convince others to join him and [[Hot Rod (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Rodimus]] on a quest to find them. Although it cost 10,000 Legislators to subdue the population, eventually Dai Atlas and the survivors were captured and taken to the fabled miracle moon of [[Moonbase One|Luna 1]]. His appearance prompted Dai Atlas to abandon the battle and confront him, denouncing Star Saber for his betrayal and fanaticism. Star Saber countered with nothing but criticism for Atlas, calling him a heretic and unbeliever, and that his faith in Primus was only an affectation. Star Saber also accused Dai Atlas of waiting arrogantly around at Crystal City for the Knights of Cybertron to show up instead of taking action. ==Synopsis==

Out in space, [[Sky Garry (ROC)|Sky Garry]] is handling a number of [[Galaman]] and [[Novaroid]] warriors with relative ease, while [[Grandus (ROC)|Grandus]] is heading an assault on the [[Decepticon]] base at Planet [[Lucifer]]. Their search for [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Super Megatron]] so far being fruitless, they suddenly deduce that their foe must be heading toward [[Earth]]. Realizing their folly, Sky Garry contacts [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity#The Battlestars story pages and comic|Star Convoy]].

Way over in the [[Dark Nebula]], [[Dark Nova]] snickers over the thought of Super Megatron wringing every last drop of energy out of planet Earth. At an off-shore [[oil]] station, Super Megatron and his Galaman drones are doing just that. With [[energon cube]]s in hand, Super Megatron prepares to celebrate his victory by dining on the delicious humans being held hostage. As he licks one up and down with his tongue (!?), his meal is cut short by the arrival of [[Sixliner]]. Not amused, Super Megatron makes short work of the troublesome upstart.

Before Super Megatron can return to his meal, he's once again interrupted, this time by Star Convoy! After he tells Super Megatron that he's about as "super" as a "supermarket", the two tussle, with Star Convoy naturally coming out on top. Enraged, Super Megatron transforms to his jet mode and strafes Star Convoy. Star Convoy then transforms to truck mode and lures Super Megatron away. He manages to trick his foe into crashing headfirst into a massive oil tank, then ignites the whole thing with his ''Galaxy Bomber'' attack. Defeated, Super Megatron flees the scene of the crime, swearing vengeance.

Later, Star Convoy apologizes to the [[human]]s for destroying their oil, but they forgive him and thank him for their safety. Sixliner then swoons over how cool Star Convoy is and hopes to one day be as a great a warrior as he is.
