Timelines parenthetical
This article shouldn't have (Timelines) as a parenthetical. The club freebies aren't classified as Timelines, they're classified as being from whatever universe their character originates from. Skyfall has Cybertron-logo instructions, Breakaway will have the Classics logo on his instructions, and Landquake's instructions were an error- they also were supposed to say Cybertron. More than likely, Topspin will be from Transtech. --ItsWalky 16:53, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
:I'd say it's a decent enough placeholder until we can move him to the proper continuity.--RosicrucianTalk 16:56, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
::Well, he's no longer stranded in the Transtech universe. Perhaps we should change the header saying he's stranded there? --FFN 04:24, 11 June 2009 (EDT)
Origins
Re: "Why he's probably from a crazy universe where everyone turns into crazy things and looks crazy is anybody's guess." Pete has recently disclosed the following on the official club forums:
:Breakaway is originally from AEC, that was never intended to be a secret or anything, it was just not made crystal clear is all. (posted at 7:46 PM on 12/16/07 in the topic: "Classic Fortress Maximus and Scorponok?" in the TCC Fiction and Comics forum)
Although it hasn't been confirmed, it therefore stands to reason that TopSpin is also from the AEC universe, and not from the Transtech universe. He just happens to be there.--G.B. Blackrock 02:59, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
: I figgered, but thought the text as-is would be sufficient until we get more info. --ItsWalky 03:02, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
:: Incidentally, I'm not looking to get into the classification debate at the top of the page. Whatever's on the instructions should be what goes. I was just talking about the text of the bio.--G.B. Blackrock 03:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Origins Take Two
So, as I look at trying to tackle this article... looking at Topspin's TFCC profile, it sounds like it really wants to put him as a background character in the G2 comics, going by wiki summaries. Except that, er, doesn't Classics completely disregard G2? S'up with this? --Jeysie 14:24, 10 February 2010 (EST)
:NM, I got it hashed out on the TFCC forums that he's from some G2 universe. I do think his continuity note needs updating, though. Should it say he's from G2 like the fiction, or Classics like his toy? --Jeysie 10:37, 19 February 2010 (EST)
:Well, continuity notes are supposed to be based on what they appeared in. I don't think we need to change that thing. Plus, it seems like this guy hasn't actually appeared in anything called Generation Two, just implied to have been around there. Also, if we really want to write the top part based on origins you should do it like "Topspin is the leg of a multiverasl singularity Autobot". So, I don't see any need to change the description. Then again, I'm not the person to really decide on this kinda stuff. Item42 00:10, 20 February 2010 (EST)
Might be worth mentioning that his colors just happen to be the same as the Diaclone version of G1 Topspin (which they just reused for a new Topspin). --Lord Aaronus (talk) 13:14, 17 July 2025 (EDT)
