[[File:Some Other Cyberton - Super Censere.jpg|thumb|left|250px|Come with him if you want to live.]]
'''Censere of the [[High-Ceilinged Manifold]]''' was a census office worker named in the ancient times before the [[First Cybertronian Civil War|war]] of the [[Thirteen Tribes]]. When he left the census office to retrain as a forensic pathologist, he drifted apart from a friend and co-worker named [[Tusk]]; when Tusk died, it went unreported, and Censere did not find out about it until years later. His friend's death moved Censere to begin a lifelong mission: chronicling the deaths of every Cybertronian. With the destruction of his hometown in the First Cybertronian Civil War, Censere relocated to a [[Necroworld|"scorched and forgotten" planet]] that Tusk had told him about, where he set up a base of operations filled with complex machinery that allowed him to keep track of spark signatures, and quantum technology that let him teleport all around the universe to record every fatality. He transformed the blasted world on which he dwelled into a beautiful garden, filled with holographic statues of every living Cybertronian, which he would switch off when the Cybertronian died. Around the bases of the statues, he planted flowers crafted from the residual spark energy of whoever the statue's real-life counterpart was responsible for killing. {{storylink|The Not Knowing}} He also kept a dedicated journal filled with all manner of things, including the original, unedited version of the [[Grand Cybertronian Taxonomy]]. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 4: At Close of Day|At Close of Day}}

Swearing an oath of non-interference, Censere eventually became a figure of myth and legend among Cybertronians, glimpsed on battlefields across the cosmos silently recording deaths. Dubbed the "Necrobot" by the religious and/or superstitious, he was also known as the "Gatekeeper", or the "Mute Neutral", and was believed to be an envoy of [[Primus]], charged with ferrying departed [[spark]]s into the [[Transformer afterlife|afterlife]]. {{storylink|The Not Knowing}} Conversely, skeptics like [[Ratchet (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ratchet]] dismissed his existence as a fairytale, attributing supposed sightings of him and his "portable apothecary" to visual glitches caused by freshly-constructed Cybertronians' senses "trying to run before [they] can walk", like the [[Shimmer]] or seeing [[Primus]]'s face in a mushroom cloud. {{storylink|Twenty Plus One}} [[Trailbreaker (G1)|Trailbreaker]] shared his lack of belief, comparing stories of the Necrobot to [[Sparkeater (creature)|Sparkeaters]] and the [[Moonbase One|Seething Moon]]. {{storylink|Liars, A to D Part 3: The Chaos of Warm Things|The Chaos of Warm Things}}

[[File:Scavengers2-Necrobot.jpg|thumb|right|upright=1.34|"Arthur Dent? Arthur ''Philip'' Dent? You're a jerk, a complete arsehole."]]
While on the planet [[Clemency]], itself littered with the bodies of dead (and occasionally not-so-dead) Transformers, [[Misfire (G1)|Misfire]] would periodically catch sight of what he believed was the Necrobot. He would then "chase it" for a few seconds before "losing sight of it" again, as observed by [[Krok (G1)|Krok]] who was not himself a believer. {{storylink|Rules of Disengagement (issue)|Rules of Disengagement}} One and a half years later, however, the Necrobot did indeed arrive on Clemency to add [[Flywheels]] to his list of dead Cybertronians, which also included several members of the ''[[Lost Light]]'' crew. {{storylink|Scavengers (Part 2): Who's Afraid of the DJD?|Who's Afraid of the DJD?}}

A selection of the crew of the ''[[Lost Light]]'' visited his planet of operations, the location of which was revealed by an info bullet from [[Dominus Ambus|Agent 113]]. Alarmed to see that multiple Transformers whose deaths he knew he had unambiguously recorded were alive and walking around in his garden, the Necrobot slammed the door to his complex shut, but when one such 'bot, Nightbeat, stood outside the door and refused to leave, Censere gave in to his curiosity and invited Nightbeat inside so he could explain his and the others' continued living (Nightbeat, he soon learned, had been revived by the properties of the [[Dead Universe]], while the others had never died - the deaths he had recorded were those of their quantum duplicates, created through a quantum generator accident). Censere went on to explain his true nature and how he carried out his work; though Nightbeat was dismayed by this revelation, having wanted to believe that the Necrobot was a mystic figure and proof that higher powers existed in the universe, Censere reminded him that his not being 'magic' did not mean the [[Transformer afterlife|Afterspark]] did not exist. {{storylink|The Not Knowing}}

[[File:DoNotGoGentle CenseresavesRoller.jpg|thumb|left|250px|Thank you for your cooperation. Good night.]]
He would take Nightbeat's words to heart when he found one of [[Brainstorm (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Brainstorm]]'s time cases buried by Megatron. By linking it up to his teleport chamber, he was able to go back in time, recovering the Transformers on his list of the disappeared. The time traveling took its toll on the passengers though, so he put them in comas and disguised them as organics to keep them safe from other Cybertronians. Occasionally, he would be glimpsed in these endeavors by others, spawning the legends of his portable apothecary. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 6: Do Not Go Gentle|Do Not Go Gentle}}

Among those he rescued were 'bots like [[Roller (IDW)|Roller]], [[Wavelength (G1)|Wavelength]], [[Syphon]], {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 6: Do Not Go Gentle|Do Not Go Gentle}} [[Anode]], [[Fangry (G1)|Fangry]], and [[Rapidfire (G1)|Rapidfire]]. {{storylink|Dissolution Part 1: Some Other Cybertron|Some Other Cybertron}} He was halfway down the list when the [[Decepticon Justice Division]] showed up, and he guessed that several of the 'bots he rescued were on [[The List|their own list]]. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 6: Do Not Go Gentle|Do Not Go Gentle}}

The DJD somehow learned of the ''Lost Light''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s previous visit to Necroworld and decided to use a fabricated distress signal to lure the group back in order to maroon them, Tarn reasoning the Necrobot was the perfect bait. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 2: The Sun in Flight|The Sun in Flight}} However, Censere altered the signal minutes after it was sent, turning it into a psychic bombardment of the intended recipients' worst fears in an attempt to warn them off. The DJD then butchered Censere and left his body with flowers stuffed in exit wounds for the Autobots to find. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light: (1) How Bright Their Frail Deeds|How Bright Their Frail Deeds}} While the Autobots were distracted with the ongoing siege, Censere, due to his great age, dissolved into ''[[Living metal#IDW Generation 1 continuity|sentio metallico]]''.

Left behind was the key to his stasis pod room. After the Autobots discovered it, they were unable to use Censere's teleport chamber to escape for fear of leaving the "organics" to die. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 2: The Sun in Flight|The Sun in Flight}}
Several hours later, Rewind, having read through Censere's journal, discovered what he'd done with Brainstorm's time machine. {{storylink|The Dying of the Light Part 6: Do Not Go Gentle|Do Not Go Gentle}}
When [[Hot Rod (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Rodimus]] brings up the fact that he failed his quest, Adaptus disagrees, saying that they have succeeded. He continues saying that they have met the guiding hand. Going down the list of the guiding hand, he reveals the identity of several bots, [[Mortilus]] being Censere.
==Notes==
*In the individual-issue printing of "Who's Afraid of the DJD?", Misfire stated that "[Flywheels'] ludicrous search for the Necrobot ends unfulfilled", yet in the previous issue, it was Misfire who was looking for the Necrobot. Millions of years ago, Omega Supreme was a member of the legendary [[Guardian robot]]s, and was charged with defending [[Crystal City]], the most spectacular city on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. He befriended the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]], the city's creators. However, as it would happen, the Constructicons were attacked by [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]]'s [[Robosmasher]] and converted into [[Decepticon]]s. The now-evil Constructicons convinced Omega to leave his post to help defend the capital city, and promised to look after the city in his stead. When he left, they demolished the Crystal City, to Omega Supreme's horror. He hunted them down, trapping them in a pit, and tried to reverse the reprogramming done by the Robo-Smasher. Though he appeared to be successful, the programming was irreversible, and Megatron had given the Constructicons a new combined form named [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]]. The treacherous Constructicons lured Omega into an ambush and in their new form attempted to use the Smasher to convert him into a Decepticon, but he destroyed the machine and they fled before he recovered from the attack.
Soon after [[Grapple (G1)|Grapple]] was brought online on Earth, [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Optimus Prime]] had a secret project in mind for the architect: {{storylink|Rock and Roll-Out!}} the construction of Omega Supreme. Designed to be the Autobots' last line of defense and given life by Prime's [[Matrix of Leadership|Creation Matrix]], Omega Supreme was unveiled in front of the Autobot rank and file. With Omega completed, they were now free to leave the base en masse to attack the Decepticons, an advantage Optimus Prime utilized immediately. As the Autobots attacked the [[Wyoming base|Decepticon headquarters]], [[Megatron (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Megatron]], unaware of Omega Supreme's birth, took [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]], [[Starscream (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Starscream]], [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]], [[Frenzy (G1)|Frenzy]], [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]], [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]], and [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] with him to attack the Ark, which he believed to be unguarded. ''Early on in the first [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] encounter, the Autobots openly talked about siccing Omega Supreme on the Decepticons. Though Omega Supreme continued to guard the Ark, he didn't seem to stay [[Scale|quite as huge]] as he used to be. He could soon fit into the Ark, where watched with other Autobots as Ratchet tried to repair Optimus Prime, who had fallen in battle. Prime was declared irreparable, and Omega Supreme helped install a remote-control system for the Ark's defenses so all Autobots could attend their leader's funeral. During the ceremony, Omega placed Optimus's body in his final resting place, a spaceship casket which they shot into space. Upon the Autobots' return to the Ark, they found that its defenses would not shut down; in their absence, a villainous [[Mechanic|human]] had infiltrated their base and disabled the newly installed remote-control system. Ratchet, who had stayed behind, managed to defeat the intruder, and promised to repair all damaged Autobots within the following couple of days. {{storylink|Funeral for a Friend!}} The funeral motivated Omega to work even harder so as to not let Optimus Prime down. Omega entered the Ark again when he and other high-ranking Autobots assembled to nominate Prime's replacement, and he suggested courage as a valuable trait for their imaginary candidate. When [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] attacked, the Decepticon carpeted the entrance to the Ark with sonic scrambler mines, disabling Omega and the other Autobots within; Omega was thus unable to square off against the giant. At some point in the war, Omega Supreme left Cybertron behind and entered seclusion in a specially-shielded artificial asteroid within the [[Muta-Gaath Nebula]]. His existence remained known to the Transformers on Cybertron and he was nominally aligned with the Autobots, though in an advisory capacity, not participating in the combat itself. {{Storylink|Spotlight: Optimus Prime}} When [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]] threatened to destroy the planet, however, Omega joined the allied forces of the Autobots and Decepticons to stop him, alongside Optimus Prime, [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]], and [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]]. {{storylink|Stormbringer issue 1|Stormbringer #1}}
Centuries later, Optimus Prime came to Omega's asteroid to consult the ancient sentinel on Nova Prime. It was while Optimus was present that Monstructor attacked, having at last escaped his imprisonment and seeking revenge against Omega. Informing Optimus of his history with Nova and Monstructor, Omega provided the Autobot leader with information on Monstructor's weak spot, enabling him to defeat the gestalt, though Prime condemned him for attempting to play god by simply locking them away. {{Storylink|Spotlight: Optimus Prime}} Some time later, when the [[Dead Universe]] Transformers began attacking the Autobots, Omega confirmed the identities of [[Galvatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Galvatron]] and [[Cyclonus (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Cyclonus]] for Jetfire, informing him that they too were members of Nova Prime's Ark crew. {{Storylink|Spotlight: Hardhead}}
When Decepticons initiated a [[Surge (event)|galaxy-wide assault]] on all Autobot outposts, pushing their enemies to the brink of extinction, Omega Supreme was also targeted, but his power proved too much for the Decepticons to handle. Around a year after this "Surge", Omega followed a distress call sent by [[Hot Rod (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Hot Rod]] to Cybertron, arriving just in time to turn the tide of a battle between the Autobot survivors camped out on the planet and the feral [[Insecticon swarm]] stalking them. Apologizing for taking so long, Omega assumed his rocket mode at Optimus Prime's request, and ferried the Autobots to Earth for a confrontation with Megatron and the Decepticons. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 10|All Hail Megatron #10}} During the battle that followed in New York City, Omega engaged the new Decepticon combiner [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], {{Storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 11|All Hail Megatron #11}} moving their fight out to Liberty Island to minimize collateral damage. Notionally, that is—Omega won the bout when he pushed Devastator against the [[Statue of Liberty]] and took him out with a blast to the midsection, which also destroyed Lady Liberty. Whoops. {{Storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 12|All Hail Megatron #12}}
Omega remained on Earth with the other Autobots during the two years that followed the New York battle, hiding out in a remote canyon in base mode. When Optimus Prime surrendered to the forces of [[Skywatch]] and Autobot leadership was divided between Hot Rod and Bumblebee, the two new leaders had different plans for Omega. Hot Rod approached him with the proposal that they use his rocket mode to get off the planet, but Omega refused, both because he lacked the fuel, and because he was insistent upon staying on Earth as long as Optimus Prime remained there. {{storylink|Things Fall Apart, Part 1: "New Arrivals, Old Encounters"|New Arrivals, Old Encounters}} Bumblebee then hid him from Skywatch by having him relocate to a cramped cave, which Omega—now too low on energon to even transform into base mode—found extremely uncomfortable. {{storylink|The Hanging Sword}} Omega was later present at the cave's opening when [[Gordon Horiuchi]] made a visit to repair Bumblebee's supposedly damaged killswitch board. {{storylink|The Gift Horse}} After Horiuchi's scheme to control the Autobots was thwarted with the help of [[Daniel Klonowski]], Omega Supreme was present when Bumblebee's new, more powerful body was unveiled. {{Storylink|Wings of Wax}}

A few months later after an alliance had been formed between the Autobots and Skywatch, the Decepticons returned to Earth and wrecked their headquarters, a Skywatch base. When the Autobots learned that Cybertron had become habitable once again only for Galvatron to occupy it, they elected to return to their home planet on Omega Supreme. Charged up with whatever energy Skywatch could offer and a fuel cell invented by [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]], Omega's rocket mode carried most of Optimus Prime's Autobots and the captive Megatron into space, while his base mode remained on Earth with Bumblebee. {{storylink|Space Opera—Final Tableaux: Orphans of the Helix|Orphans of the Helix}} {{storylink|Police Action: Prologue}} When Optimus Prime wanted to have a private chat with Megatron, Omega shut off the viewscreens to the room to prevent the other Autobots from peeping, and he also cut the power to the [[variable voltage harness]] when Optimus lost patience and almost killed Megatron with it. {{storylink|Chaos Theory Part 1|Chaos Theory #1}} {{storylink|Chaos Theory Part 2|Chaos Theory #2}}
Omega's base and tank components continued to serve as the Earth-bound Autobots' headquarters. After Bumblebee managed to defeat all five Stunticons on his own, he had Ultra Magnus put his captives in one of Omega's prisoner holds. {{storylink|The Question}}
When word reached Omega that [[Metrotitan (Zone)|Metrotitan]]—who had long since left Cybertron along with Dai Atlas–had returned and promptly died, he spoke to Metalhawk about what the Titan had said before he perished. The titan had dubbed [[Starscream (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Starscream]] the Cybertronian who would unite their race, calling many of Metalhawk's beliefs into question, and Omega concluded that the titan's purpose had been to foster that sense of uncertainty to open the way for change. {{storylink|Primus: All Good Things|All Good Things}} Starscream approached him in a televised interview to ask if he had anything to add about the Titan's claims, but he refused to comment. Soon after their talk, a massive explosion struck Omega Supreme, nearly killing him and causing outrage among the public, who revered him as their ancient protector. With Omega on life support, the Autobots and neutrals blamed the Decepticons in general for the attack, while Starscream's own primary suspect was [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]]. {{storylink|The End of the Beginning of the World}} [[Prowl (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Prowl]] and [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] drove past the defeated giant as he lay comatose in the streets where he'd fallen. {{storylink|The Verge}} The true culprit behind the attack later turned out to be a mind-controlled [[Prowl (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Prowl]], whose motive had been to eliminate the one Autobot capable of standing up to Megatron's new Devastator. {{storylink|Before the Dawn}} Eventually, all Autobots and Decepticons were exiled from Iacon by Starscream, who promised the Autobots that the NAILs would repair Omega Supreme before giving him the choice to either renounce the Autobot cause or join the others in exile. {{storylink|Second Exodus}}
*'''Omega Supreme''' (1985)
**''Accessories:'' 2 small shields, 2 medium shields, 2 large shields, 4 armour halves (A, B, C, D), 4 ankle halves (E, F, G, H), 2 feet, backpack, 4 tracks (J, K, L, M)

:Omega Supreme transforms into three individual components simultaneously: a large rocket base, a rocket and a tank. Omega Supreme's "transformation" involves very little manipulation of his moving parts, in fact, the only part that transforms is his main body/tank. Instead, it is achieved by disassembling him into his component pieces, which are then put back together in a different configuration. The tank forms his main body, the rocket forms his forearms, the track makes up most of his legs, while the gantry forms his feet and backpack, with extra track parts forming wings. The torso features a battery-operated motor which propels the tank around the track as its turret spins and flashes with orange light, or allows Omega to walk (very slowly) forward in robot mode. This motor is extremely susceptible to failure.

:Omega Supreme was one of several toys licensed by [[Hasbro]] from a company other than [[TakaraTomy|Takara]]. In this case, and in common with [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]], Omega Supreme was licensed by a company called [[Toybox]]. As a consequence, Omega Supreme was never released in [[Japan]] under the ''Transformers'' brand during the original 1980s run.

:Normally it's not possible to have every part of the rails attached to him if one follows the instructions and animation model, but by arranging the "wings" into an "X" shape on his back, one can store all of his parts in robot mode.
:As an [[Action Master Elite]], Omega Spreem is one of the few figures in the [[Action Master]] line that can actually transform to some extent, in this case transforming into a really awkward Cybertronian tank. A push-button on Omega's butt spins his upper body around, which in tank mode means the upper "turret" spins like a drill. Despite having a gun on the back of his head, there is not enough clearance for his head to fold down far enough to make it point forward in vehicle mode. Due to his "transformation," he is one of the most articulated Action Masters, featuring universal shoulder joints, a wrist bend, an upwards neck joint (though at the price of a sideways neck joint), and even a waist swivel, though it's pretty loose. He's also one of the few to use universal joints rather than the standard rubber bands in his hips, making him significantly more durable.
*Similar to [[Shockwave (G1)/toys#Notes|Shockwave]] and his [[pre-Transformer]] predecessor "Astro Magnum", Omega Supreme/Mechabot-1 also saw a plethora of licensed versions released in various international (in his case, all of them European) markets concurrently with Hasbro's Transformers version, during a weird transitional phase when different companies' versions were influencing each other. Overall, there are two main color variants: Toybox's Mechabot-1 colors and Hasbro's Omega Supreme colors.<ref name="mechabot-1">[http://soundwavesoblivion.blogspot.de/2015/03/grandstand-convertors-omegatron.html "Grandstand Convertors: Omegatron, Mechabot-1 & Omega Supreme"] at the Soundwave's Oblivion blog.</ref> Due to these licensed releases, Omega Supreme was not released as part of Hasbro's ''Transformers'' line in these markets.
**In the United Kingdom, a company named Grandstand released the figure in its original "Mechabot-1" colors as part of its ''Convertors'' line, under the name "Omegatron".
**In Germany, a company named GAMA releasd the figure in its original "Mechabot-1" colors under the name "Trans Robot". The overall packaging design was the same one also used for Grandstand's "Omegatron" (down to the photos used), but the "Trans Robot" logo took some very obvious cues from Hasbro's "Transformers" logo. Additionally, the tank's long barrel was crudely cut off and replaced by a new radar dish accessory, presumably because German kids at the time weren't supposed to play with war toys.
**In Italy, [[GiG]] released the figure in its Hasbro colors as part of their ''[[Trasformer]]'' {{sic}} line, under the name "Megarobot". The packaging design was directly based on Hasbro's packaging for Omega Supreme, the only GiG ''Trasformer'' release without the official ''Transformers'' branding to do so.
**Lastly, in France, a company named [[Orli Jouet]] released the figure in its Hasbro colors as part a line named "Robotrack", under the name "Mecabot". Like with GiG's "Megarobot", the packaging design was directly based on Hasbro's packaging for Omega Supreme; what's more, the toy was actually manufactured in Italy, possibly as part of a partnership with GiG, and on top of that, the official TV commercial for the figure actually ''used footage from Hasbro's ''Transformers'' commercial for Omega Supreme!''<ref name="robotrack">[http://www.ina.fr/pub/culture-et-loisirs/video/PUB3784054071/robotrack-orli-jouets-jeu.fr.html Robotrack Mecabot commercial]</ref>
*According to [[Bob Budiansky]]'s notes at [[BotCon 2010]],<ref>[http://www.allspark.com/index.php?full=1&set_albumName=BotCon_2010_Sat_Panels&id=DSC05237&option=com_gallery&Itemid=4&include=view_photo.php Bob Budiansky's notes at BotCon 2010]</ref> Omega Supreme was originally going to be named '''[[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]]'''. Why the name changed is uncertain, but since it was later applied to [[Autobot City (G1)|Autobot City]] in the [[The Planet-Eater!|Marvel adaptation]] of the ''[[The Transformers: The Movie|Transformers]]'' movie before being used on the Headmaster, it seems someone ''really'' wanted to use it.
*Omega Supreme's name could be translated as "Last of the Best"; given his role as the "last line of defense", this is appropriate.
*In the cartoon, Omega Supreme can launch his rocket into space, leaving the remaining parts behind at his launch base, and then transform fully back to [[robot mode]] even though the majority of his body parts are separated from the rocket by a good planetary diameter or two (if not several light years). Indeed, sometimes his base mode is seen to be inexplicably awaiting his rocket mode at his destination, leading some to speculate that Omega (rather implausibly) has duplicate body parts on some other planets, "just in case". Some [[fanon]] alternatively holds that in cases such as these, Omega's non-rocket parts actually use [[Size changing|size-changing technology]] to shrink down and travel as cargo inside his rocket mode, which are then disgorged and enlarged before landing. Another theory is that the base is transported to [[Transwarp|subspace]], as some believe happens with Optimus Prime's trailer. Whatever helps you sleep at night...
*Although over half of the episodes from the Generation 1 cartoon featuring Omega were written by [[David Wise]] (including his showcase episode, "The Secret of Omega Supreme"), don't let that fool you into thinking Wise had a soft spot for Omega—he really didn't like him! In fact, the uncharacteristic eloquence displayed by Omega in "Secret" was actually a script error by Wise, who was unaware of Omega's trademark speech pattern and wrote the episode with normal dialogue. Script editors had to add in lines about Omega being able to talk normally when he wanted to make it work without a wholesale rewrite.<ref>[http://moonbase2.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=553015 Moonbase 2 interview with David Wise]</ref>
[[File:JoemegaSupreme.jpg|thumb|upright=1.4|Declarative: YO JOE!]]
*At JoeCon 2011, Hasbro's [[Rik Alvarez]] hosted a "Treasures from the Hasbro Archives" panel, where he revealed that he had then-recently found a box in the company archives containing an assortment of artwork, concept boards, and proposals for what "could have been" in a series of Transformers/[[G.I. Joe (franchise)|G.I. Joe]] crossovers. Of these concepts, the only one shown at the panel were parts of an Omega Supreme that had been redecoed and intended for release in the G.I. Joe toyline (this was later shown again at [[BotCon 2011]], though no photos were allowed then). Whether these redecoed parts were intended for use as a "crossover" G.I. Joe/Transformers character or as a non-living G.I. Joe vehicle was unsaid.
*According to the [[Letters page (Marvel UK)|letters page]] of Marvel UK issue #285, "[[External Forces!]]", Omega is tougher than a "block of triple-strength [[durabyllium]] steel."
*"Omega Spreem" (the name of Omega Supreme's Action Master Elite form) is actually one possible transliteration of the Katakana (a Japanese syllabary used for foreign words and names) spelling of "Omega Supreme", suggesting that the name could possibly have resulted from the name "Omega Supreme" [[Engrish|going from English to Japanese, and then back to English again]]. ''Why'' it would have gone through this rigmarole, however, is unknown. The ''[[Transformers Vault]]'' book reveals more details for how this might have happened, without really ''explaining'' it: The design artwork for an unreleased standard (i.e. not Elite) [[Action Master]] version of Omega Supreme has his name (correctly spelled) written quite large on the top of the sheet in big black marker. However, there's also an illustrator's note written in very small pen/pencil next to the toy's design artwork, which misspells the character's name as "Omega Spreem", despite the correct spelling being in giant text directly above it (though to be fair, it's possible that the black marker text was added after the fact). When the toy was released, for ''some'' reason Hasbro used the "Omega Spreem" spelling. Hasbro UK moves in mysterious ways indeed.
* Like all non-toy robot Kreons in these ''Kre-O'' online manga, Omega Supreme is made from existing Kre-O parts. His exact construction is mostly concealed, but like [[Strika (BM)|''Kre-O'' Strika]] he uses the diver helmet from ''Kre-O'' Battleship.
*In [[2015]], Hasbro started a poll on their Facebook page on which of [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]], and Omega Supreme fans would want as the next Titan Class figure in the Generations line. [[Trypticon (G1)#Generations|Trypticon]] won, however it's recently been noted that Hasbro has re-[[trademark]]ed the name "Omega Supreme", so maybe we might get a new toy of him after all.

'''Repaired and reactivated, Wheeljack is faced with a Cybertron unfamiliar to him, and must decide where his loyalties lie in this new world.'''

==Synopsis==
After months offline, the fully-repaired [[Wheeljack (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Wheeljack]] awakens at last, unceremoniously toppling out of his stasis tube in front of a waiting crowd. [[Starscream (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Starscream]] is legitimately happy to see Wheeljack up and about again; that doesn't immediately endear the scientist to [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]], but Wheeljack is less concerned with her opinion of him, and more with the startling revelation that Starscream is now the ruler of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]!

[[File:IDWRID33-repairingsuperion.jpg|thumb|left|upright=1.4|looks like he caught ligma]]
After being caught up on the last six months, Wheeljack is shown around a shanty-town being built outside of [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]] by those who have elected to leave the city after the recent bombing—unfortunately, they are mostly [[Decepticon]]s, angry at what they see as the failings of Starscream's leadership, and Starscream and Wheeljack quickly find themselves being "encouraged" out of the area by a hail of debris thrown by furious civilians. Unfazed, Starscream proceeds to lead Wheeljack to a facility containing the bodies of [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] and [[Superion (G1)|Superion]], explaining the [[combiner]]'s origins to the shocked scientist and how he came to be injured by [[Prowl (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Prowl]] and the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]]. Wheeljack swears to do what he can to help save the [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]]' lives, but Starscream needs more: in order to protect his Cybertron against any potential threat that the Prowl-controlled [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]] might pose, he requires a combiner that will serve him. Already unconvinced that his friend Prowl could really be as dangerous as Starscream says, Wheeljack further points out that [[Slingshot (G1)|Slingshot]] seems beyond saving; in response, Starscream introduces him to [[Alpha Bravo]] and [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]], who have volunteered to become part of Superion in order to ensure the success of the project.

[[Blurr (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Blurr]] throws a party to celebrate Wheeljack's return at [[Maccadam's Old Oil House]], but the scientist is distracted throughout, surrounded by strangers and feeling very alone. Rising early the next morning, he pays a visit to Starscream in order to hash the matter out, but finds his way barred by [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]]. The smaller 'bot lets him pass with noticeably little argument... allowing Wheeljack to overhear Starscream seemingly arguing furiously with ''himself''. [[Windblade (G1)|Windblade]] appears, already aware of Starscream's apparent descent into insanity; she and Wheeljack properly introduce themselves to one another, and she takes him to Metroplex's damaged [[space bridge]], telling him a little more about recent events and her attempts to repair the bridge and help Cybertron's colony worlds. They both realize that it is difficult to trust Starscream, but that the current situation means that to help him is to help Cybertron, and that means they are both on the same side.

Seeking perspective, Wheeljack heads out to the badlands to regard the tiny singularity that [[Crystal City]] collapsed into when [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]]'s "[[Dark Cybertron (IDW)|Dark Cybertron]]" plot was foiled. There, he meets [[Ironhide (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ironhide]], who has become withdrawn now that the vision of the future he saw has been rendered impossible by Shockwave's machinations. He despairs over the loss of the surety in the future that the vision had granted him, but with good humour, Wheeljack tells him that that state of uncertainty is just called "being alive".

Returning to Metroplex, Wheeljack walks into Starscream's chambers as he is in the middle of another rant... only to discover that this one isn't to himself, he's simply communicating with [[Scoop (G1)|Scoop]], his agent on [[Earth]], over a comm channel. Starscream shows Wheeljack a selection of images sent from Earth by Scoop of Devastator on the rampage, and gives one final speech: whatever anyone else may say about Starscream, whatever Wheeljack may ''think'' about him, his ''point'' is still true, and Cybertron needs a combiner on its side because all its potential enemies have one already. Wheeljack cannot disagree, and gets to work on Superion... because however untrustworthy Starscream may be, Wheeljack knows he has his friends Windblade and Ironhide to watch his back.
"''Heh.'' Pal. You just described '''bein' alive.'''"

"There's a '''war''' coming, and you can trust me on '''exactly''' one thing: I won't let Cybertron fall again."
==Notes==
===Continuity notes===
*Wheeljack mentions his friendship with [[Ferak]], an old relationship mentioned just once before, in Ferak's profile in the ''[[The Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers|Last Stand of the Wreckers]]'' hardcover. However, see "Errors", below.
*Wheeljack also recalls the time he built a new body for Orion Pax, as seen in ''[[Omega's Conundrum|Spotlight: Orion Pax]]''.
*He also brings up a "trip to [[Las Vegas]]", which happened in ''[[Infestation (IDW)|The Transformers: Infestation]]''. He describes the experience as "kinda fuzzy", likely a reference to the story being a crossover with another property, or a gag about Wheeljack's non-presence in the story, as he essentially only ever appears on-panel during it in order to do something science-y, then disappears again. Of course, it could also be a reference to {{w|Sin City (description)|the kind of weekends}} that the city is well known for providing.
*Wheeljack appeared to die back in [[Before the Dawn|issue #14]]. He was revealed to have survived in [[Three Monologues|issue #20]].
*This story takes place a few weeks after the conclusion of the ''[[The Transformers: Windblade|Windblade]]'' mini-series; nobody really wants to tell Wheeljack exactly what went down during it, for obvious reasons (seriously, Chromia might want to check her 'tude).
*The Decepticon slums outside Metroplex were seen in the previously-released but chronologically-later ''[[The Transformers: Punishment|Punishment]]'' mini-series.
*Omega Supreme has been injured and offline since [[The End of the Beginning of the World|issue #11]]; Superion has been out of action since [[Plan for Everything|issue #15]].
*Slingshot is noted to have a fondness for Nebulon rock operas; [[Nebulos]], homeworld of the Transformers' [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]], [[Targetmaster (technology)|Targetmasters]], and [[Powermaster]]s in other fiction, hasn't appeared in IDW continuity since its early days, when it was ravaged in an attack by [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]] during ''[[The Transformers: Stormbringer|Stormbringer]]''.
*Powerglide was formerly a member of the ''[[Lost Light]]'' crew; here we see he left the ship to remain on Cybertron after "[[Dark Cybertron (IDW)|Dark Cybertron]]".
*Dirge turns up in Maccadam's, having last been seen back in issue #20. It's nice to see he's gettin' along okay!
*Crystal City was consumed by a black hole in ''[[...And the Damage Done: Dark Cybertron Finale|Dark Cybertron Finale]]''.
*The precise specifics of how Shockwave's actions altered the future Ironhide saw aren't gone into on-panel, but we as an audience know that the Decepticon's plan resulted in the destruction of [[Gorlam Prime]], which was the ''setting'' for Ironhide's future vision, rendering it impossible.
*Scoop is revealed to be with the Decepticons on Earth; he was last seen among their number on Cybertron in a flashback in [[Earthfall Chapter 4: Full Fathom Five|issue #31]].
*The images Starscream shows Wheeljack are of the Autobots' attack on the EDC's Bikini Atoll base last issue.
*Monstructor is revealed to still be at large; his components were last seen doing battle with the female Autobots during ''Dark Cybertron Finale''.
*Starscream recalls Swindle's creation of Menasor from the first arc of the [[The Transformers (IDW)|2009-2011 ongoing series]]. The Stunticons haven't combined again since that first story. As will be revealed later, they're pretty pissed about it, too.

===Transformers references===
*The build-up to ''[[Combiner Wars (comic)|Combiner Wars]]'' begins here; new Superion component [[Alpha Bravo]], whose toy was debuted at [[Hasbro's Transformers 30th Anniversary San Diego Comic-Con Press Breakfast|San Diego Comic Con 2014]], is introduced, and Powerglide, whose new ''Generations'' toy becomes an extra piece for Superion's gun, puts in an appearance.
*Powerglide's got his [[The Transformers (cartoon)|original ''The Transformers'' cartoon]] speech patterns, dropping his Jackie Gleason-inspired catchphrase, "Awaaaaay we go!"
*Whilst he retains his pre-existing IDW design above the waist, Superion's legs (i.e. [[Skydive (G1 Aerialbot)|Skydive]] and [[Air Raid (G1)|Air Raid]]) have already been rebuilt to the specifications of the ''Combiner Wars'' toys, with forward-facing jet parts.

===Real-life references===
*The title of this issue seems to be a reference to ''{{w|Futurama}}''; in the debut episode "{{w|Space Pilot 3000}}", upon emerging from stasis to find that the world has changed, like Wheeljack does in this issue, series protagonist {{w|Fry (Futurama)|Philip J. Fry}} is greeted by [http://theinfosphere.org/Terry a cryogenic scientist] who proclaims "WELCOME TO THE WOOOORLD OF TOMORROOOW!"

===Errors===
*Ferak is misspelled "Ferax". This is fixed for the trade and the version of this comic included with the ''Generations'' Deluxe Class Streetwise toy.
*On page three, as the water in Wheeljack's tube drains away, it drains ''upward''.
*In the flashback of Starscream's coronation, he is depicted in his Armada body. Of course, he doesn't get this body until the [[Dark Dawn: Dark Cybertron Chapter 1|first issue of Dark Cybertron]].
*That Slingshot, Superion's left arm, has suffered the greatest injuries perhaps stretches credulity, considering that Devastator tore through the combiner from the ''right'' side in issue #15. Not to mention that Silverbolt, the torso, was explicitly ''ripped in half''... Well, what can we say? [[Hasbro]]'s just [[To sell toys|being itself.]]
*In the final panel of page 14 (page 13 without the "Previously" page), Windblade is misspelled "Windblae". This is also fixed in the trade, but is still present in the version of this comic included with the ''Generations'' Deluxe Class Streetwise toy.
*Menasor appears in his new ''Combiner Wars'' design, which he logically shouldn't have yet.

===Edits===
[[File:TheWorldofTomorrowP1-2Comp.jpg|thumb|upright=1.4|right|Decompressed storytelling vs. compressed storytelling.]]
Similar to the [[pack-in material|pack-in]] versions of various other existing IDW comics, the version of this issue available with the ''[[Transformers: Generations|Generations]] Combiner Wars'' Deluxe Class [[Streetwise (G1)#Generations|Streetwise]] toy was also subject to some changes:
*The first page (not counting the "Previously" page that's also missing in the trade paperback collection and the pack-in version), featuring four completely black panels with captions containing Wheeljack's inner monologue, is omitted entirely. The captions are moved to what's originally the second page in the original version (but page 1 in the pack-in version), with all the captions rearranged so that two panels' worth of captions are contracted into one panel each.
*Two edits on the double page 5/6 (pages 4/5 in the pack-in version): Wheeljack's eighth caption has "He died '''savin'''' the '''universe'''" changed to "He went out '''savin'''' the '''universe'''", and Starscream's fifth speech bubble in the lower double-page panel has "Somebody '''blew up''' some people, tried to '''kill''' Metroplex." changed to "Somebody '''blew up''' some people, tried to '''destroy''' Metroplex."
*On page 8 (page 7 in the pack-in version), Wheeljack's speech bubble in panel 1 is changed from "Shot in the head?" to "Blasted in the head?"
*On page 12 (page 11 in the pack-in version), Wheeljack's third caption in panel 1 is changed from "I mean, '''Bee's''' dead." to "I mean, '''Bee's''' gone."
*On page 13 (page 12 in the pack-in version), Starscream's second speech bubble in panel 6 has "Rattrap wants me '''dead'''" changed to "Rattrap wants me '''out of the way'''", with the speech bubble itself resized accordingly.
'''At last: Rodimus vs. Getaway!'''

==Synopsis==

Inside Ward Zero on [[Mederi]], [[Rung (G1)|Rung]] takes an interest in the alien telepaths who power the planet, who are still murmuring "Prepare, confront, repel" in unison. [[Ratchet (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ratchet]] repeats his instruction to ignore them and worry instead about the [[sparkeater (creature)|sparkeaters]] banging on the front door, but fortunately, [[First Aid (G1)|First Aid]] has found a solution to that problem in Mederi's patient files: "concussive medicine," the delivery of a curative program code via kinetic force. A generator is quickly prepped to deliver the code, but [[Misfire (G1)|Misfire]] questions if it is safe to use in the presence of the organic telepaths. Unsure, First Aid calls a halt to the plan... only for [[Nickel]], not caring a fig for the safety of organics, to jump in and activate the generator herself. The shockwave it emits slams through the walls and into the sparkeaters, knocking them all out, and leaving the telepaths unharmed.

Aboard the ''[[Lost Light]]'', [[Hot Rod (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Rodimus]] and [[Cyclonus (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Cyclonus]] confront [[Getaway]], [[Scorponok (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Scorponok]], and [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]]. Cyclonus immediately transforms to jet mode and appears to flee, with his one-time former adversary Star Saber giving chase. Scorponok, meanwhile, takes on his own old enemy Rodimus, easily overpowering him while Getaway watches. But just before Scorponok can crush Rodimus's head, he suddenly dematerializes—teleported away by [[Tyrest (G1)|Tyrest]], who radios in to inform Getaway that the [[Grand Architect]] has need of Scorponok, in preparation for the approach of "the beast." Composing himself, Rodimus recalls stories [[Drift (G1)|Drift]] used to tell about Cybertronian guardian angels named "[[sliver]]s," and finds himself pretty sure they must be true, since he's just had his fondest wish granted: him and Getaway, one-on-one. Getaway, on the other hand, has a different idea, transforming to vehicle mode and speeding away!

Down in the flooded shuttle bay, the rest of Rodimus's team contends with the menace of the [[scraplet|red scraplets]]. [[Grimlock (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Grimlock]] cleaves the scraplets' combined form in two with his sword, and the critters sink back under the oil... but a moment later, with a speed and intelligence Drift believes they should not be capable of, they recombine into a serpentine form and lunge directly at [[Whirl (G1)|Whirl]]. Rather than devour him, however, they reform again... into a giant hand, that gently strokes the side of Whirl's face...!

Elsewhere in the ship, Star Saber continues to pursue Cyclonus, enjoying the chase. But it turns out Cyclonus isn't ''fleeing''... he has merely lured Star Saber into following him. Quick as a flash, Cylconus tranforms to robot mode, and brandishes his [[Great Sword]]. Unable to react fast enough in the narrow corridor, Star Saber plunges headlong into the blade, and is bisected from nosecone to afterburner!

Back in Ward Zero, the unconscious sparkeaters are brought inside for examination. As Ratchet works, the telepaths again speak as one, this time "saying" the symbol of the [[Knights of Cybertron]]'s coat of arms, which [[Nautica (G1)|Nautica]] is able to recognize thanks to [[Skids (G1)|Skids]] writing down the pronunciation of it for her after he heard it himself. Rung also recognizes the "word," but cannot recall from where, knowing only that it is from "a very long time ago." But that's a mystery for another time, as the telepaths continue speaking, this time counting down from one thousand...

Rodimus follows Getaway to the ship's fuel furnace, where the escapologist attacks him using a pair of [[nucleon (substance)|nucleon]] rods as cudgels. Rodimus punches Getaway off the catwalk they are fighting on, and as he lands, a piece of one of the rods breaks off. Getaway tosses it into the furnace, which flares up violently, shooting flames into the room that slowly begin to spread. As Rodimus closes in, Getaway threatens to smash the remaining rods together, setting off an explosion that will destroy the ship. Rodimus doesn't believe he'll do it; why destroy what he's fought so hard for? Getaway explains by way of relating what happened after the ''Lost Light'' arrived at Mederi, which they found empty, due to the crew lacking any kind of coherent vision of "[[Cyberutopia]]" for the telepaths to form an illusion out of. The Grand Architect's [[Worldsweeper]] fleet then attacked, and to save himself, Getaway struck a deal, claiming that Team Rodimus was on the way to foil the Architect's plans and offering to stop them in return for a position among his followers. To prove his loyalty, he allowed Scorponok to turn the rest of the crew into sparkeaters. But now that it's all ended in failure? With Cyberutopia an illusion, so he will never be able to become a [[Prime (rank)|Prime]]? Getaway has literally nothing left to live for. As a final jab, he accuses Rodimus of caring nothing for the ship or the crew, having only pretended to in order to get revenge on Getaway—an accusation that gives Rodimus just enough pause to provide Getaway with his opening. Just before he can bring the rods together, however, Cyclonus appears behind Getaway and severs his left arm with his sword. Terrified, Getaway flees into the raging inferno behind him... but Rodimus, determined to prove that he is not like Getaway, follows him into the fire. Amid the flames, he finds Getaway's unconscious body and carries him back out to safety, his purple paintjob burning away as he does so, restoring him to his original red.

Rodimus and Cyclonus try to get the sprinklers working to douse the fire, but Getaway, left unattended, reawakens and silently picks up Cyclonus's sword, preparing to stab the ancient Cybertronian in the back. Before he can, the sprinklers burst into life, and an unearthly vision appears through the rain: [[Primus]] himself, who Getaway believes has finally come to make him a Prime. Getaway euphorically takes the hand of god... only for "Primus" to turn out to be another scraplet construct! The mini metal-munchers swarm all over Getaway, devouring him until only a few scraps remain. Rodimus and Cyclonus stare in amazement as Whirl struts up and explains that the scraplet swarm isn't ''just'' made up of red scraplets; it's being led by the [[Moonbase One|Luna 1]] scraplets that snuck onto the ship the previous year, with which he formed a bond. Interfacing with Mederi's euthanasia program, the scraplets killed Getaway with his greatest desire: validation from god.

It seems like everything is over, until Ratchet radios Rodimus to tell him about the countdown, which has reached its end. Ratchet urges Rodimus to find a window a look outside... where space itself has torn open, and a blazing rift now stretches across the stars!
==Notes==
===Continuity notes===
*Scorponok refer to his previous clash with Hot Rod, in [[The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots|''Maximum Dinobots'']].
*Tyrest describes the Benzene Cluster as "threadbare"—not a random word choice, as "threadbare space" was one of the phrases Drift mentioned in [[Dissolution Part 2: Anomie|issue #2]] as having heard during the vision he had in [[Dissolution Part 1: Some Other Cybertron|issue #1]].
*While trying to recall what Drift has told him "slivers" are made out of, Rodimus runs through a list: "dappled light, or trapped light, or patterns of light." "Trapped light" is unlikely to be the phrase Drift used, as he did not ascribe any importance to the words when Ratchet found them inscribed over the door of Ward Zero in [[The Everlasting Voices (2): The God War|issue #17]].
*As footnotes remind us, Skids "heard" the Knights' coat of arms "spoken" by the giant ball of energy he encountered in [[Remain in Light 5 of 5: This Calamitous Life|''More than Meets the Eye'' #21]]. He was asked by Nautica to write it phonetically in [[The Dying of the Light: (1) How Bright Their Frail Deeds|issue #50]], hence her ability to recognize it in this issue.
*Also referenced via footnote, the Luna 1 scraplets snuck onboard the ''Lost Light'' and formed a bond with Whirl in ''[[Silent Light|The Transformers Holiday Special]].'' Hope you're not just reading this in trade paperback form, kids, as that's never been included in any of the collections of this series!

===Transformers references===
*The visual of a tear in the fabric of the universe, specifically including a flaming red-orange-yellow color scheme speckled with black "{{w|Kirby Krackle}}" dots, feels like a reference to the rift in space-time that was the central threat of the climactic classic [[The Transformers (Marvel comic)|Marvel UK]] storyline, "[[Time Wars]]."

===Other trivia===
*Originally solicited for release in late June 2018, as the second of ''two'' issues of ''Lost Light'' that were supposed to be released that month, this issue arrived late, in the second week of July, only a week after the also-delayed previous issue.
'''Team Rodimus and the Scavengers reunite with former friends just in time to deal with a sparkeater attack orchestrated by Getaway.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Team Rodimus]] and the [[Scavenger (group)|Scavengers]] watch as the mutinous crew of the ''Lost Light''—now somehow converted into [[sparkeater (creature)|sparkeaters]]—land on the surface of [[Mederi]] and start lumbering towards them. The group is unsure of the extent of the threat they pose, but quickly find out when [[Brainstorm (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Brainstorm]] approaches the sparkeater-[[Perceptor (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Perceptor]] and attempts to talk to him, only to be scorched by a stream of acid vomit from his former lab partner. [[Nautica (G1)|Nautica]] tackles the wounded Brainstorm to safety, and the whole group transforms and beats retreat. As the sparkeaters give chase, a small ship appears in the distance, heading right for the group; something drops from its underside, which [[Roller (IDW)|Roller]] initially thinks is a bomb... only for it to turn out to be [[Grimlock (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Grimlock]], who lands in the midst of the sparkeaters, stomping several of them flat. The former [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]] leader hacks the sparkeater-[[Mainframe (G1)|Mainframe]] to bits with his sword, prompting [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] to grab [[Crankcase (G1)|Crankcase]] and zap Grimlock with the Decepticon's guns, just enough to get his attention and stop him from killing any more of their afflicted fellow Autobots. A blast from the ship overhead scatters the remaining sparkeaters, and the craft sets down, revealing who else is on board: [[First Aid (G1)|First Aid]], [[Riptide (G1)|Riptide]], [[Thunder Clash|Thunderclash]], and [[Wipe-Out]]. Explanations come thick and fast: after being separated from the Scavengers, Grimlock fought his way out of [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]'s [[Worldsweeper]] and ended up adrift in space, where his distress signal was picked up by First Aid, Riptide, and the injured Thunderclash after they escaped the ''Lost Light''. The group proceeded to travel to [[Troja Major]], where they repaired Thunderclash, left the [[Firstborn]] in the care of [[Agonizer|the Curator]], chartered a small quantum-jump-capable ship from Wipe-Out, and set out in search of the ''Lost Light'' by following a homing beacon they hid on it. As [[Misfire (G1)|Misfire]] and [[Swerve (G1)|Swerve]] bond over a love of puns, First Aid relates the atrocities [[Getaway]] has wrought in [[Hot Rod (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Rodimus]]'s absence. Suddenly, just as Rodimus is making plans to search for the ''Lost Light'', a [[proton missile]] impacts nearby. Looking up to the source of the missile, the group sees that the ''Lost Light'' has arrived, now decorated with a huge symbol on its underside: the gear-like coat of arms of the [[Knights of Cybertron]]...

Aboard the ''Lost Light'', Getaway orders [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]] to fire on the 'bots below again, but it turns out they've run out of missiles, having used up the rest recently battling the [[Phantom Fleet]]. As indicated by the symbol that's been added to the ship, Getaway has joined forces with the mysterious [[Grand Architect]], and worse yet, he's not the only familiar face on the Architect's side: so is Getaway's former captor, [[Tyrest (G1)|Chief Justice Tyrest]]! Communicating via hologram, Tyrest accuses Getaway of playing with the Autobots and urges him to finish things quickly so the final stage of the Architect's plan can begin. Getaway denies it, but as he surveys the oil reservoir full of [[scraplet]]s, it's obvious that he has plans of his own...

Down below, the group watches as the ''Lost Light'' pulls back, disappearing into clouds that are rapidly darkening the sky. But there is no respite for our heroes, as a second wave of sparkeaters suddenly appears; [[Krok (G1)|Krok]] saves the surprised Rodimus by blasting the sparkeater-[[Slapdash (G1)|Slapdash]] to pieces, which angers [[Rewind (G1)|Rewind]], but Krok won't apologize for saving Rodimus. Magnus instructs everyone to shoot to wound rather than kill, but sparkeater physiology makes it a tricky prospect—[[Ratchet (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ratchet]] and Thunderclash wind up killing [[Bluestreak (G1)|Bluestreak]] and [[Jackpot (G1)|Jackpot]] despite their best efforts, but Grimlock has no angst to spare for mutineers and traitors. Realizing that Getaway ''wants'' him to get angry and lash out, Rodimus—inspired by [[Whirl (G1)|Whirl]]'s recent attempt to goad him into action, and much to his own chagrin—decides to calm down and think like [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]], assembling a rational plan of action. He instructs most of the group to barricade themselves inside Ward Zero, luring the sparkeaters after them, while he, Magnus, Thunderclash, Roller, Grimlock, Whirl, [[Drift (G1)|Drift]], [[Cyclonus (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Cyclonus]], [[Anode]], and [[Lug (IDW)|Lug]] wedge into Wipe-Out's ship, with Crankcase at the helm, and take off after the ''Lost Light''. Cyclonus, in particular, relishes a reunion with Getaway, intending to kill him ''slowly''.

Weaving through bolts of lighting, Crankcase pilots Wipe-Out's ship after the ''Lost Light'', and the group is able to enter the larger vessel via shuttle bay four, finding that there are no guards or shields up. It is, of course, all part of Getaway's plan; no sooner have they landed and disembarked than all the shields and blast doors in the bay start descending. Rodimus and Cyclonus are able to dart under one before it shuts, but the rest of the group is sealed in. Strategically-placed charges in the ceiling detonate, bringing the contents of the room above—the oil reservoir—flooding down into the bay. Anode, in particular, is gripped with terror as the team find themselves facing the menace of the metal-munching scraplets, who have combined into a massive, tentacled monstrosity!

Rodimus and Cyclonus, meanwhile, make for the bridge of the ship, certain that Getaway is waiting for them. And he is... but what Rodimus has ''not'' expected is for Getaway to be flanked by Star Saber... and Scorponok!
"Perceptor? Percy? It's Brainstorm—remember me? Your lab partner? Your one-time lab partner? 'Watch out you fool, the ceiling can't support your weight!' That guy."
"'''Six''', actually!"<br>
"Pretty sure you were gonna say—"<br>

"That's how I like my explanations. Hard, fast, and confusing."<br>
"Yeah, I used to be in the recap business, and that precis did '''not''' take any prisoners."<br>
"It was like being beaten to death with a '''Story So Far.'''"<br>
==Notes==
===Continuity notes===
*The "story so far" segment on the inside front cover is presented as a conversation between Swerve and Misfire, hearkening back to the old "Swerve recap" pages used in ''More than Meets the Eye'' between [[World, Shut Your Mouth Part 2: Words Hang in the Air|issue #29]] and [[The One Where They Go to Earth|#43]].
*Brainstorm's line (quoted above) about the ceiling not being able to hold his weight alludes to an unseen follow-up to a scene from way back in [[Rules of Disengagement (issue)|''More than Meets the Eye'' #7]], in which Brainstorm did science while suspending himself from the ceiling in an attempt to impress Perceptor.
*Brainstorm attempts to tell Perceptor that they are "simpatico," which he did before in [[Into the Abyss: Dark Cybertron Chapter 4|''More than Meets the Eye'' #24]].
*Grimlock and Scorponok were both last seen in [[Kill All 'Cons|issue #15]].
*Grimlock is less than happy to see Ultra Magnus; unsurprising, since Magnus was the one who arrested him way back in [[Maximum Dinobots issue 5|''Maximum Dinobots'' #5]].
*First Aid, Riptide, and Thunderclash were last seen escaping the ''Lost Light'' in [[The Plotters' Club (Part 3): Journey's End|issue #12]].
*Wipe-Out previously appeared in [[An Axe to Break the Ice|issues #8]]-[[Chasing the Infinite|9]].
*Star Saber references an off-panel encounter the ''Lost Light'' has had between issue #12 and this one with the "[[Phantom Fleet]]." This fleet was first mentioned in [[Dissolution Part 2: Anomie|issue #2]], explained to be a group of [[Worldsweeper]]-class ships that were lost in the [[Dark Nebula]] millions of years ago. The Grand Architect's use of Worldsweepers has been flagged up as anachronistic several times, always suggesting there was a connection...
*When the crew observes the change in weather, as the sky darkens and clouds roll in, First Aid notes that conditions were the same on Troja Major. We saw this weather in action there in issue #14, where it was said to be due to the "warping" of the "spiritual ley line" the planet sits on; it was noted last issue that Mederi sits on the same ley line.
*Whirl needled Rodimus into action by asking him "What Would Megatron Do?" back in [[The Everlasting Voices (1): Metastasis|issue #16]].
*Tyrest was last seen in [[Remain in Light 5 of 5: This Calamitous Life|''More than Meets the Eye'' #21]], when the crew stopped his attempt to reach Cyberutopia by killing every [[reproduction|cold-constructed]] Transformer in the universe. The [[The Sound of Breaking Glass|prose story]] published as a back-up in that issue revealed he went on to escape captivity via a teleporter.
*Tyrest notes that "Benzene has been cleared" as part of the Grand Architect's plans. The [[Benzene Cluster]] has been mentioned several times between [[The Plotters' Club (Part 1): Full Circle|issues #10]]-[[Sardines|13]]; in particular, issue #12 mentioned a mysterious party operating out of the cluster.
*Tyrest also says "the pathway has been sterilized," something [[Flame (Marvel)|Flame]] noted preparations were being made for back in issue #9.
*As we observed back in our notes for [[The Plotters' Club (Part 2): Filling in the Blanks|issue #11]], the red scraplets have been on the ''Lost Light'' from the start, as alluded to by [[The Gloaming|''More than Meets the Eye'' #16]]. This issue finally reveals why; Drift explains that Brainstorm brought them on board, hoping he could train them to "eat temporal energy" to prevent his time-travel experiments being discovered.

===Errors===
*Well, doesn't look like anyone provided E. J. Su with reference material for the crew's vehicle mode looks from past issues of the comic, because Chromedome turns into his ''[[Titans Return (toyline)|Titans Return]]'' toy, Ratchet turns into his ''[[Transformers: Prime (toyline)|Transformers: Prime]]'' toy, and... ''sigh''... Rodimus and Drift turn into the vehicle modes of [[IP infringing item|unofficial "third party" toys]] based on their comic book designs.
*There are two typos on page 9: "mobilze" instead of "mobilize" in the first panel and "make is" instead of "make it" in the third panel.

===Other trivia===
*Originally solicited for release in early June 2018, as the first of ''two'' issues of ''Lost Light'' that were supposed to be released that month, this issue arrived late, in the first week of July.
