Autobot Outpost Omega One is the Autobots' hidden base on Earth, located inside a mountain in Nevada. It serves as Autobot Central Command. It used to be a Cold War missile silo before it was converted: as a result, it's shielded against radio signals and is operated using old human machinery. Trying to run Cybertronian programs on human machinery is a recipe for bugs out the exhaust, much to Ratchet's irritation!

Fiction
Prime comic
Team Prime, then consisting of Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bumblebee and Bulkhead, were already based in the missile silo when Arcee and Cliffjumper answered Optimus's call and arrived on Earth. Optimus and Bumblebee used the GroundBridge to rescue the two from Starscream and Breakdown. Transformers: Prime (graphic novel)
The Autobots moved into the base after arriving on Earth. After the Autobots' presence was exposed to Jack Darby, Raf Esquivel and Miko Nakadai, the three kids were brought to the base and introduced to everyone. Darkness Rising, Part 1 After the other Autobots left to try to find Cliffjumper, Raf proved handy in helping Ratchet work out some of the bugs with the base's computer systems. A sample of Dark Energon inadvertently brought into the base by Arcee infected a piece of equipment. Darkness Rising, Part 2 The base had basic medical facilities which the Autobots used to treat Agent Fowler after his experiences being tortured by the Decepticons. Darkness Rising, Part 4

Bulkhead and Bumblebee brought a mysterious pod back to the base from the Arctic. Unfortunately it turned out to contain Scraplets which infested the base, chewing through vital systems. The Autobots and their three human friends were eventually able to repair the GroundBridge and expel the annoying creatures into the Arctic. Scrapheap (episode) The Decepticons had Makeshift masquerade as Wheeljack in an attempt to learn the location of the Autobot Base, however the damaged caused by the Scraplets prevented him from reporting back and he was subsequently blown up before he could report the base's location. Con Job

Jack brought his mom to the base after she found out about the existence of giant transforming robots. Crisscross She started visiting regularly, much to the annoyance of the kids, who felt oppressed as a result. Metal Attraction After Ratchet developed a Synthetic Energon, he ended up punching Bulkhead through one of the base's walls. Stronger, Faster Ratchet attempted to use the base's systems to treat Raf after the boy was infected with Dark Energon. He eventually succeeded by using the equipment to give Raf an infusion of regular energon. One Shall Fall

Megatron paid a visit to the base when the Autobots made a deal with him to help them end Unicron's threat. One Shall Rise, Part 2 The base was rattled by earthquakes as Optimus defeated Unicron. One Shall Rise, Part 3

Ratchet attempted unsuccessfully to upgrade the GroundBridge into a space bridge in an attempt to reach Cybertron. Orion Pax, Part 2 Bulkhead was restricted to base as he recovered after almost being offlined by Hardshell. Hurt The many relics they'd recovered (plus Airachnid) were stored in a special storage area in the base. New Recruit After learning that the Autobots' human friends lived in Jasper, The Human Factor the Decepticons began narrowing in on the location of the Autobot base. Hard Knocks Starscream was able to gain access to the Autobot base and pilfer the Omega Keys out of the vault, but using a combination of trickery and Red Energon. Inside Job

After obtaining the Forge of Solus Prime, Optimus used it to upgrade the base's systems, allowing them to use the GroundBridge as a space bridge. Regeneration (Prime)

Megatron used the Omega Lock to create a huge fortress near the Autobot base. Following the Omega Lock's destruction at Optimus Prime's hand, the Decepticons mounted an attack on Omega One. Fowler and Wheeljack managed to keep the Decepticons occupied while the Autobots escaped through the space bridge, but even as Optimus destroyed the controls to prevent them from being followed, the Nemesis opened fire. The blast shattered the mountain, destroying the Autobot base with Optimus still inside. Darkest Hour (episode) Smokescreen was able to pull Optimus from the rubble, and as a result the Decepticons only found Airachnid in her stasis pod and the Forge of Solus Prime. Darkmount, NV

Titan Magazines Prime comics
Ratchet constructed the Safe, a training room on one of the lower levels of the base. In the process of testing it, the Autobots uncovered a live nuclear bomb. The warhead, which should have been taken away when the base was originally stripped, almost led to the discovery of the base by Vehicons. Luckily Raf was able to keep the bomb busy until Fowler arrived with some scientists to defuse it. Transformers Comic issue 4.1

The Autobots decorated their base for Christmas, however when Fowler told them the Decepticons had taken over a nuclear-powered ship, Optimus left Bulkhead and Arcee behind to work on their differences. On Raf's suggestion, the pair tried to find a common like, and eventually settled on ice skating. Then they turned the base into an indoor ice rink, which Ratchet didn't seem too enthusiastic about. Transformers Comic issue 4.3

When Raf became hypnotised by a video game and activated the GroundBridge, hordes of Vehicons started pouring into the base. Ratchet activated the base's defenses, providing pop-up metal shields as cover while the Autobots fought back. Raf was eventually snapped out of his trance and turned the GroundBridge into a vacuum that sucked the Vehicons back out, though there were a few loose parts left behind. Transformers Comic issue 4.4
The Autobots attempt to rescue one of their own by tracking the Decepticon warship.

Synopsis
Team Prime gathers outside their base for the launch of Raf's probe, Chip. It will instinctively follow its signal to the Decepticon warship with Optimus Prime following right behind, ready to relay the ship's coordinates to the other Autobots. Optimus tells Raf that Ratchet would be proud of what he's done, and a moment later, both Chip and the Autobot leader take off into the night sky.

In Knock Out's laboratory, Ratchet and Shockwave discuss the issue at hand: once a stable form of synthetic energon exists, it will be able to bond with CNA to create a stable form of Cyber Matter. Knock Out muses that this good fortune wouldn't have come about had the Decepticons not let the Autobots destroy the Predacon clones. Ratchet picks up on the use of the word "let", but Knock Out and Shockwave quickly change the subject.

Team Prime continues to monitor Optimus as he follows Chip. Jack wonders what will happen when the Decepticons pick up Laserbeak's signal, and Raf says they're counting on Optimus making visual contact with the Nemesis before that happens.

On the ship, Knock Out is bristling at being reduced to an assistant in his own lab. He fetches a CNA sample from a locked cabinet for Shockwave, not noticing when a second sample jar tips over and blocks the cabinet's sliding door from closing again. Ratchet does notice, and asks Knock Out to fetch another lab instrument to distract him while he yanks the sample jar free.

Megatron is watching a computer simulation of Earth's cyberformation when Soundwave alerts him that Laserbeak's signal has been detected outside the ship. Starscream notes the impossibility of that, as Laserbeak is right there in front of them. Megatron recognizes it for an Autobot trick, the complexity of which suggesting that Starscream failed to destroy their base. Starscream hastily volunteers to troubleshoot the problem.

With the aid of the Decepticons' advanced technology, Ratchet is able to complete the Synth En formula. His elation disappears upon hearing Megatron's voice over the comm system, ordering Shockwave to assist in the final stages of the Omega Lock's assembly. Ratchet realizes he can never allow Megatron to possess the formula, and deletes it from the computer before setting off an explosion in the corner of the lab and blaming it on the formula's instability. Knock Out calls in some Vehicons to help extinguish the blaze, and when the lab's doors open, Ratchet transforms and drives out.

Optimus Prime continues following Chip until Starscream appears, firing a missile at him. Optimus dodges and fires back with his gatling gun. A squadron of Vehicons join the aerial assault, but Optimus blasts through them with ease. Starscream realizes Laserbeak's frequency isn't emanating from Optimus and continues the search for its source.

Knock Out alerts Megatron to the prisoner's escape, while Ratchet dodges Vehicon fire throughout the halls of the ship. He doesn't get far before Megatron finds him, stopping the ambulance in its tracks by stomping on it. Ratchet warns Megatron that if he kills him, he'll never get the Synth En formula. Megatron assures him that his experts are untangling Ratchet's false trail of information and will soon find the answer themselves.

Starscream finally locates Chip, destroying the probe with a single missile. Optimus opens fire on him, but is unable to prevent the Decepticon from escaping through a mid-air GroundBridge. Optimus is left alone in the sky, with no trail to follow.

Knock Out retrieves Ratchet's stolen sample of CNA and Shockwave confirms the stability of the Synth En formula. With the aid of hyper-acceleration technology, it will not take long to begin production. Megatron fulfills his promise by having Ratchet taken to Predaking's quarters. The self-proclaimed leader of the Predacons wastes no time attacking the helpless Autobot in the name of his slaughtered kin.

Shockwave begins the synthesis of the Cyber Matter, and Megatron orders the Omega Lock to be moved into ready position.

Just as Predaking is about to finish off his prey, Ratchet warns the Predacon not to let his vengeance end with him, but to continue avenging right up to Megatron. Predaking asks what he means, and Ratchet explains Megatron's role in the destruction of the Predacon clones. He challenges Predaking to analyze the situation; the enormity of the supposed coincidence that the Autobots somehow stumbled upon Shockwave's lab while looking for Energon. Predaking, starting to become convinced, asks why Megatron would wish to harm his kind. Ratchet says that Megatron fears him, and any like him. Enraged, Predaking storms into the halls, demolishing Vehicons along the way. One Vehicon is able to alert Megatron to the rampage before being terminated.

Ratchet makes his way to a communications array and contacts Optimus and Team Prime. Their joy is cut short when Ratchet reveals that Megatron has a working Omega Lock and is about the cyberform the planet. He deactivates the ship's shielding, allowing the Autobots to get a fix on his location, but is forced to leave the array by the sound of approaching gunfire. Optimus orders the Autobots to lock onto Ratchet's coordinates and storm the Decepticon ship. Miko sadly says that they can't leave without saying goodbye, but Fowler promises her they'll be back. The Autobots gear up with the arsenal from Ultra Magnus's ship, and Raf opens a GroundBridge to the Nemesis. As they enter, Optimus Prime tells them that this may be their last battle. But for the sake of Ratchet, Earth, and Cybertron, they must take the Decepticon warship.

Megatron, followed by Starscream and Knock Out, heads for the ship's vault, wondering aloud how the so-called Predacon king will fare against the Dark Star Saber. They're interrupted by Predaking, who tosses a deactivated Vehicon in their direction. Knock Out continues to the vault while Predaking asks if Megatron truly planned the destruction of his Predacon army. Megatron says he did, and his only mistake was not including Predaking in the destruction. He lands a few hits with his blade before Predaking overpowers him, clubbing him with the deactivated body of a Vehicon and knocking him down the length of the hall. Starscream distracts Predaking momentarily with a missile in the back, allowing Megatron to hurl the Predacon into the room behind them. Megatron hits a button on a computer panel inside the room, opening a door to the outside directly behind Predaking. He grips the sides of the door frame to fight against the sudden air pressure, but a blast from Megatron's cannon sends him tumbling out of the ship and into the clouds. Starscream closes the hull door and Knock Out arrives with the Dark Star Saber just as a Vehicon reports over the comm that the Autobots are attacking the ship. Megatron grabs the Dark Star Saber and tells the Decepticons to prepare to make their last stand.
Quotes
"So we know this Cyber Matter to be produced by an atypical molecular-displacement reaction."<br/>
"Extensive empirical evidence indicates the fundamental instability within the Synth En formulation to be the cause."<br/>
"Double-blind analysis?"<br/>
"Naturally. The results only confirmed my original hypothesis. Once the erroneous variable has been corrected for, the stabilized synthetic material will bind properly with cybernucleic acid."<br/>
"And produce a stable form of Cyber Matter... remarkable."<br/>
"Yes. Quite an act of providence."
:—Ratchet and Shockwave put aside their differences all in the name of science.

"Starscream, you did destroy the Autobot base, did you not?"<br/>
"With great fervor, my lord. Why do you ask?"<br/>
"Because Laserbeak's frequency has been detected on radar."<br/>
"But that's not possible. He's right here in Soundwave's torso."
:—Megatron and Starscream with a sentence you can only get from Transformers.

[Over comm] "Lord Megatron. There's been a situation... more like an accident, really—"<br/>
"Spit. It. OUT!"
:—Knock Out knows Megatron likes to shoot the messenger, but Megatron is a man who insists on hearing bad news immediately.

"At last. Good riddance to a wretched species."<br/>
:—Starscream and Knock Out debate the merits of Earth.

"Why would my liege wish to destroy us?"<br/>
"Having just been on the receiving end of your might, one theory springs to mind. Megatron fears you."
:—Predaking is confused by Ratchet's news of Megatron's betrayal. Maybe it was calling yourself a king that did it.

"Is it true that you ordered the annihilation of my army?"<br/>
"Indeed. And my only mistake was not seeing the extermination through."
:—Predaking learns that Megatron doesn't fear him quite so much as Ratchet thought.
Notes
Animation and technical errors
* Prior to being confronted by Predaking, Megatron, Starscream, and Knock Out were headed to the vault to get the Dark Star Saber. When Knock Out leaves to retrieve it, however, he turns right, which would take him back down the corridor they just entered from.
* During the startup process for the rebuilt Omega Lock, synthetic energon is shown running through small tubes, only for the larger containers to fill with normal blue energon. This error is fixed in the following episode.

Continuity notes
* Starscream believed he destroyed the Autobot base in "Persuasion".
* Megatron set the Predacon clones up to be destroyed by the Autobots in "Evolution".
* The Dark Star Saber was last seen in "Darkest Hour".
* Megatron mentions his time as a gladiator in the pits of Kaon, as described in "Crossfire" and the novel Transformers: Exodus.
* Megatron tells Predaking he should have obeyed his command and fought as a beast, as he requested in "Minus One".
* Before they leave for the Nemesis, the Autobots all grab the weapons they obtained from Ultra Magnus' ship in "Rebellion". Smokescreen gets a new weapon resembling a futuristic bow.

Transformers references
* Ratchet telling Predaking that Megatron fears him is similar to what Sideways told Starscream in the Armada episode Rebellion

Real-world references
*Megatron ejects Predaking from the Nemesis in a manner similar to Aliens.

Trivia
* This episode was dedicated to storyboard artist Armen Mirzaian, who lost his life in a car accident in February 2013.
* This is the first time Predaking is seen firing his handheld cannon.
* Megatron and Starscream seem awfully quick to write off Predaking as dead, considering they merely blew him out an airlock and his beast mode can fly.
The Autobots face the Decepticons for a last showdown.

Synopsis
The Autobots storm the Nemesis via the outer hull, while Ratchet lets them know he's heading for the Omega Lock's control station. As he approaches the ship, Optimus orders Arcee's team to join Ratchet while Ultra Magnus and the Wreckers take the bridge. Arcee asks if they should destroy the lock, but Optimus intends to use it to restore Cybertron. Smokescreen has to be prompted to follow the others when he's momentarily distracted by the sight of Megatron arriving on the top of the ship to face Prime. The Decepticon leader uses the Dark Star Saber to damage Optimus's jet pack. Optimus manages to land on one of the lower spires and starts climbing up.

Telling them he has something he needs to do, Smokescreen leaves Arcee and Bumblebee. Meanwhile, Ratchet reaches the control station and begins fighting Shockwave. Arcee and Bumblebee approach the control station, as well, but they're cut off by Starscream and a bunch of Seekers who open fire on them. While this is going on, Knock Out packs for a sudden journey he has to make right now. Smokescreen soon reaches the warship's storage area and retrieves the Star Saber.

Ultra Magnus and his team reach the bridge; however, their attempt is cut short by Soundwave, who GroundBridges them to another part of the ship, where they're quickly surrounded. Ultra Magnus notifies everyone that his team has been delayed, which gives Jack an idea. He asks Raf to bridge him onto the Nemesis bridge as he's come up with a plan.

On the warship, Shockwave finishes pummeling Ratchet, but is interrupted by the Omega Lock signalling that it's ready to fire. As he opens the huge portal to prepare for firing, he spots Optimus hanging out on the Omega Lock's structure and is forced to take cover as Optimus opens fire. Megatron soon arrives to engage Optimus directly and orders Shockwave to begin the firing sequence.

Knock Out, wandering the corridors, finds himself cut off by the fighting. The bridge, meanwhile, is invaded by Jack and an Apex Armor-clad Miko. She quickly finishes off the Vehicons on duty, but Soundwave advances on her with an open GroundBridge. Jack tells Raf to open a GroundBridge right next to Soundwave, and the conflicting bridge energies promptly transport Soundwave into the shadowzone. As Jack and Miko head to the controls, the Omega Lock begins powering up on the bottom of the ship. On its rim, Optimus and Megatron continue to battle, with Optimus knocking the Dark Star Saber from Megatron's grip and decking him. Megatron orders Shockwave to prepare to fire, but is interrupted by the ship lurching while under Jack's control.

Down below, Smokescreen passes Arcee and Bumblebee, carrying the Star Saber into the Omega Lock control room. He attempts to throw the sword down to Optimus, only to be blasted by Shockwave. Arcee, Bumblebee, Starscream and Shockwave all run for the weapon, but Arcee takes out Starscream, and Bumblebee reaches it first, decking Shockwave before grabbing the saber in midair. Ratchet warns Optimus he must use the Star Saber to destroy the Omega Lock; however, as Bumblebee jumps to pass the weapon to Optimus, he's blasted repeatedly by Megatron. As other Autobots watch in horror, Bumblebee dies. He plunges lifelessly into the Omega Lock's energy field.

Outraged, Optimus smacks Megatron around, only to be knocked off the Omega Lock when Megatron recovers the Dark Star Saber. As Prime clings to the side, Megatron prepares to finish the Autobot off, only to turn around in response to someone calling his name. Bumblebee runs him through with the Star Saber, and as everyone looks on in shock, Megatron dies, his body falling from the Omega Lock and plunging Earthward. Bumblebee helps Optimus climb up as the remaining Decepticons scramble to escape. As the Autobots reunite, they marvel at the fact that Bumblebee has his voice back, and Optimus passes on the news to Magnus's team and Hangar E that Megatron has perished. With the ship now under Autobot control, Optimus orders Magnus to set course for Cybertron. Bumblebee radios Raf to let him know to come up so he can be there for the restoration of Cybertron.

As the ship passes through the space bridge, Starscream and Shockwave reach the escape pods to find there's only one left. They cram into it and eject, though Starscream complains about the cramped conditions. Ratchet explains that he does not have the complete formula to synthesize cyber-matter, and the current amount was intended to cyberform Earth, not the much larger Cybertron. Optimus directs the ship to the Well of All Sparks, so they can revitalize Cybertron's core. The beam of energy strikes Cybertron's core, and the planet is soon completely restored and glowing a healthy blue. On the bridge, Knock Out admires the planet's new luster, and claims to be "joining the winning team", only to be decked by Miko. Predaking, still clinging to the hull, looks out over Cybertron before transforming and flying off.

Back on Earth, Optimus gives a speech about how they're going to miss Earth. Fowler says the three kids will be members of Unit:E, June modifying it by mentioning that they'll be in a consulting capacity only until they're of age, and Ratchet takes the opportunity to announce he's staying on Earth. Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Arcee give a tearful farewell to their respective partners, while Fowler, Magnus, Wheeljack and Smokescreen share a mutual salute. As the Autobots head through the space bridge, Optimus gives Ratchet a last goodbye, and with a final lingering look at his human companions, strides through after his team.

Notes
Animation and technical errors
* Ultra Magnus goes into the battle using his built-in blasters, but in the next scene is lugging around the same handheld cannon he used in "Rebellion".
* Even though the ship is orbiting Earth, Transformers and objects fall at a rate consistent with Earth-normal gravity outside of the ship.
* Though it makes sense that Megatron and Optimus failed to notice Bumblebee's revival, certainly the assembled Autobots and Decepticons should have, considering Bumblebee would have had to climb out of the cybermatter pool, grab the sword, then walk over to Megatron to stab him with it.
* Before Jack arrives in the ship, we see Soundwave and Laserbeak (on his chest) missing it's left wing.

Continuity notes
* Jack, Miko, and Raf experienced the effects of crossed GroundBridges firsthand in "Shadowzone".
* Bumblebee gets his voice back in this episode. His voicebox was destroyed in the events of Tyger Pax as explained in "Operation Bumblebee, Part 1" and the novel, Transformers: Exodus. His voicebox, as well as his wounds, were restored through the energy field generated by the Omega Lock. It is rather fitting that he delivers the final blow to Megatron.
* Miko previously used the Apex Armor in "Chain of Command".
* The Star Saber was previously seen in the Decepticon vault in "Prey". Despite not making a note of it then, that fact did not escape Smokescreen's notice.
* Ultra Magnus refers to Soundwave's combat GroundBridging as a "relocation trick", which he had used on Arcee in "Orion Pax, Part 1", a Predacon bone fragment in "Project Predacon", and Airachnid and her Insecticons in "Thirst".
* Soundwave isn't the only Decepticon who is trapped in the Shadowzone.
* The Autobots fire the Omega Lock into the Well of All Sparks, last seen in flashback in "One Shall Rise, Part 1".
* Predaking is revealed to have survived Megatron's attack from the previous episode.
* The Immobilizer is seen in a stasis field in the vault, thus accounting for all the Iacon relics left on Cybertron last season.
* Wheeljack takes the lobbing ball with him to Cybertron. It was last seen in "Project Predacon".

Real-world references
* Raf refers to opening conflicting Space Bridge portals as 'crossing the streams', a term from Ghostbusters for a method of last resort with potentially devastating consequences. The same term was used the first time this happened.

Trivia
* Just before Megatron retrieves the Dark Star Saber from the Omega Lock to use its wave attack to push Optimus off the side, the Dark Star Saber emits a sound very similar to the original Star Saber sword whenever it was activated.
* Ratchet kept saying that he wanted to go back to Cybertron, and that he wouldn't forgive Optimus for leaving him on a planet with humans. Evidently, he has grown used to them, and stays behind anyway, claiming that he's needed in Unit:E.
* Bumblebee was wearing a battle mask over his mouth for the whole series, which is revealed when he retracts it upon discovering he can speak again.
* Soundwave has his Spacebridge trump card used against him (at last). One has to wonder what purpose he will serve in the Shadowzone.
* Between solicitations for upcoming issues of the Beast Hunters comic (which revealed that Cybertron would be restored), the press release for the Predacons Rising movie (which revealed that Megatron was going to die) and a clip shown at the Prime panel at the San Diego Comic Con and later released online (which revealed that Bumblebee would regain his voice), a well-informed Transfan had pretty much every surprise of this episode spoiled by official sources well in advance of its airing. Boo.
* Starscream vowing to avenge the death of his master makes us wonder if he truly has pledged allegiance to Megatron. Completely against Starscream's nature, but you never know...
