Fiction
The Transformers cartoon
The Alligaticon was created by the Constructicons from the remains of the disassembled Optimus Prime after he was captured by the Decepticons. The creature was let loose into the sewers beneath New York City which was being redecorated into New Cybertron. Scrapper noted that they made good use of Prime's remains.

In the sewers, the drone encountered the Autobots Ratchet, Hound, Mirage, and Bumblebee, who believed it to be a simple mindless beast. They tricked it into an abandoned train, where it got trapped and sent down the tracks. It was only later that they realized that Optimus Prime had been disassembled after encountering his head in the Decepticon base. Hound finally realized why his scanner kept picking up Prime when the Alligaticon attacked.

They sought the creature again in the sewers, where they struggled to capture it until Prime used his remote controls to bring the beast in line. After that, Ratchet used the parts to reassemble Optimus Prime at the expense of the poor Reptilicon Alligaticon. Talk about animal cruelty. City of Steel (episode)
The Decepticons reassembled the Alligaticon by stealing Optimus Prime's parts while he was sleeping. : Part of the third wave of Transformers ULTIMATES! from Super7, the Alligaticon is a 10-inch-long non-transforming figure made to emulate the creature's cartoon model to pretty exacting detail (including the lack of detail on most of its flat surfaces). It makes ample use of multi-swivel joints to give its limbs a relatively wide range of motion, plus extensive tail jointing, a mid-body bend, some neck waggle, and an opening jaw.

: It comes with multiple "City of Steel"-themed accessories, including a tower with Optimus's arm attached to it. The arm is permanently attached, but the hand uses the same wrist-joint as the individual Optimus figure, and can be popped off and replaced with his other hands if you like (Optimus's wrist-pegs are larger than many other figures', so sadly cross-compatibility is limited at best).

: Preorders for the Alligaticon (and the rest of Wave 3) opened on December 1, 2021, with the toys projected to ship in fall 2022... and actually shipping in November 2023.
Hot dogs are small protein cylinders with rounded ends. Fleshlings use them for fuel after putting them through a brief heat-tempering process. This heat is sometimes provided by the rapid oxidation of brown carbon-based pipe sections, but a standard-issue laser scalpel is equally effective and much more efficient. Warrior School!

Frequently, the fuel cylinders are enclosed in a spongy sabot made from fermented, heat-tempered plant matter, and coated with various other acidified or liquefied plant derivatives. Many human customs are peculiar.

While this is a highly energetic fuel, overuse can lead to the formation of deposits in supply lines, and the resulting occlusion may cause major component failure. Moderation is suggested.
Hoist Goes Hollywood
You reverted my edit saying it was "still a stretch." What I wrote was:

"The Autobot cast for this episode is particularly appropriate. Apart from Hoist, all the Autobots who crash the filming in search of stardom are notably vain attention-seekers. Though this trait is rarely played up with Warpath, his ego regarding his gun and shooting skills is mentioned in his bios, and he appropriately makes his entrance by displaying his sharpshooting skills."

My question is this: How the heck is that a stretch? It notes what was clearly the writer's intention in casting the episode and explains the choice of a character who would seemingly be the odd man out.

I don't do a lot of editing on here, and I genuinely try to do so only when I feel I'm adding something or improving something in accordance with the standards as I understand them, but I've had several edits reverted recently that I had put a good amount of thought into, and the justifications for those reversions have been uniformly unsatisfying and very poorly explained. Tjfosko
:I genuinely don't think the writer put that much thought into it. And unless you have an interview with the writer saying as much, you can't say it was clearly their intention; it was more likely as simple as them being told "here's the toy(s) we want to promote this week, write a story about them". This just feels like adding a note for the sake of adding a note on an overly crowded page. (I personally think a lot of the existing notes don't serve to add much either, so it's not just a you thing.) And please remember to sign your talk page posts. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 23:29, 15 May 2021 (EDT)

::So, you don't think the writer of the episode picked specifically four glory-hounds to crash a movie studio hoping for stardom, but that he instead got a note saying, "We want you to sell Hoist, Tracks, Sunstreaker, Powerglide, and Warpath this week"? Look at Earl Kress's episode credits. "The Immobilizer" is practically the only episode dealing with Ironhide's age (besides a few minor asides) and actually features a rare instance of Trailbreaker being a jokester. "B.O.T.," for all its flaws, plays up Swindle better than any other episode. "Desertion of the Dinobots" doesn't have the same degree of focus, but the episodes he wrote tend to be very strong in their depictions of characters. Even if your scenario of "promote these toys this week" is accurate (which I don't think it is, as the production materials that I've seen make it seem like Hasbro gave broad strokes with the exception of a few instances of "don't use this guy because we aren't releasing him" (Reflector) or "shove this in somewhere because it's a new toy" (Protectobots)), that only makes the cast more noteworthy, as it's an incredibly convenient accident. It seems way, way more likely that the writers, with the exception of the more mercenary jobs like "The Search for Vector Sigma," were given a box of toys and told, "these are your available characters, choose as you wish."
You removed my parenthetical regarding Whirl's lack of appearance because you believed it had no bearing on his survival. However, no one knows what happened to Whirl since he never appeared, and that makes his survival ambiguous. The current note is also confusing as written because it implies Whirl appears in Time Wars, but he doesn't. I was trying to add in some clarity to answer a question I'd been trying to get answered for myself, as I looked through the wiki trying to figure out what happened to Whirl or if he'd died in a story that I somehow didn't have in my collection (since my G1 comics collection is the Titan collections, and with the weird way the UK stories were collected I wasn't 100% positive I had all the relevant stories), and it took far more digging than it should have for me to figure it out, and the Time Wars note did cause me actual confusion.Tjfosko (talk) 12:28, 17 February 2022 (EST)
Discord ban appeal
Hey, not sure if you are the right person to ask, but over a year ago, I don’t quite recall when, I was (rightfully) banned from the Discord server for my immature and attention seeking behaviour, truthfully I am glad I was banned sooner than later since at that time I probably would’ve gotten myself banned for something much worst,
Now that over a year has passed, and I’ve dealt with a lot of the issues I had with my life and gotten myself in a better place, mentally socially, etc and again I’m into Transformers than ever I wanted to be able to contribute to the Wiki again, and learn how to be more professional about my edits, and I’d like to rejoin the discord server for that purpose, in order to discuss wiki contributions, unlike before when I *only* wanted it as a place to talk and receive attention when I had no one else to talk to in my life, I don’t mean to come off as sappy or anything of the sort, just me asking for a second chance and stating how I intend to be better if given it. I wasn’t trying to remove Nick Studios on the EarthSpark page, I was trying to condense the sentence to be the same one that says how it is developed by eOne and Nick. There was another sentence that said Nick Studios is producing, so I wanted to merge the two and make it say that it is being co-produced and developed by them. But the caption still doesn’t make sense to me, since it isn’t for Nick alone anymore and the Nick who is a character designer isn’t really the person who the show is "by." Taylr2000 (talk) 23:28, 12 April 2022 (EDT)
Apologies for the sudden message, but I was wondering if it would be okay to upload screencaps from the YouTube Rise of the Beasts Videos for certain pages for use on character pages. They technically are within the guidelines under the ruling of "No leaks" as the screenshots are from publicly available videos on YouTube via the official Paramount Pictures Channel, and I believe they are of a good picture quality. I’ve recently added information about g1 Puffer. Unfortunately you deleted my entry, because I had no source. Unfortunately the website where Puffer was first mentioned, does not exist anymore (since it has been more than 20 years ago). So that pretty much rules out any proof I have of my text.
I know for a fact that what I’ve posted, really happened. But I don’t have any proof of that. Is there any way that you do add the information? Just until someone can proof something else (which they can’t because I know what legitimately happened :-))
Hope you can reconsider!
Thanks in advance! GodGinrai
: Sorry, but you need proof for a claim like this. Besides, even if the story was true, I genuinely doubt it's the reason the toy was named as such; like, is there literally any reason to believe that Hasbro named the toy for that reason and not just the obvious "Pipes + Huffer"? ::Well, hold on, I agree that there needs to be more proof, but Hasbro absolutely named the toy that because it was a long-standing fan nickname. :::: Thanks Escargon! And I actually found some sort of proof, on the old ATT newsgroup. I do mention Puffer (although making him Klaas as I mentioned in my earlier post). But the post from early 2000 is some sort of proof: https://groups.google.com/g/alt.toys.transformers/c/YkR6bBAj9ww/m/bpGU4XDJkVoJ. On April 1 2000 I say: “ The reason WHY we called him Klaas cause it's because we didn't knew it was Huffer or Pipes... so we we're discussing that..eventually it was something like: "Blue Huffer.. No.. Alter-Transform-Pipes... Puffer.. Hipes...screw it.. it's KLAAS!.. hehehehe OK :)”
::::As you see in the discussion, no one has ever seen or mentioned Puffer before. This was the first time I explained where the name came from. GodGinrai
:::::Perhaps, but I question the ability to claim this as the name's definitive origin point, especially 14 years removed from the toy's original release; it seems more likely IMO that "Puffer" is an obvious enough portmanteau like "Bumper" that a lot of people independently came up with it, and it's just one of those things that gradually spread. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 16:17, 9 July 2023 (EDT)
Partner up!
Hi, my name is Kate and I am the founder of the Independent Fallout Wiki (over yonder at fallout.wiki). A few members of our community recommended your wiki as one we should reach out to in order to partner up with (big fans!) The Independent Fallout Wiki split off the corporately hosted wiki to give independence a whirl in April 2022. We want to strengthen relationships between other independent wikis, as our community has interests that span beyond Fallout and are excited to check out other independent sites.

What does a partnership even mean? Good question! On our end, we feature your website on the wiki as both an article and part of the home page spotlight rotation. If you have a Discord, we also feature your invite along with links to your YouTube/website/videos. If you have similar spaces, we just ask that you do the same for us. You can check out the list of our current wiki buddies here!

These partnerships work well to connect independent wikis, lead to new friends, and are generally good vibes across the board. I appreciate you considering our request to partner up! If you feel like giving it a go or have any questions, feel free to respond here or message me on Discord (kateaces) or let me know who I should reach out to if you aren't in the partnerin business. Thank you so much in advance!<br />
