The Omega Lock was located in the Rust Sea, disguised as a nondescript object in the barren wastes. When the four Omega Keys were brought to it, however, its true nature was revealed. The ground transformed and pillars rose from the ground, forming a portal. After a standoff, the Decepticons gained control of the Omega Keys and plugged them into the Lock, activating it. High above in space over looking Earth The Autobots engage the Decepticons in a battle to save Earth aboard the warship . Optimus and Megatron battle fiercely on the platform of the Omega Lock. Megatron manages to hold Optimus at a slight disadvantage using the Dark Star Saber. Yet Optimus does not waver and holds stead fast in keeping Megatron occupied while rest of the members of Team Prime attempt to secure the bridge and the Omega Lock controls. Bumblebee valiantly attempts to bring the Star Saber to Optimus to use to destroy the lock but Megatron prevents him by blasting him thereby killing him as he plunges lifelessly into the Omega Lock's energy field. Bumblebee's is restored with his voice and life thanks to the cyber-matter he in turn stabs Megatron right through his spark with the star saber killing him. With the Omega Lock fully secured and under the control of the Autobots they uses the warship to return to Cybertron and activate the lock directly at the center Well of All Sparks, so they can revitalize Cybertron's core. The beam of energy strikes Cybertron's core, and the planet is soon completely restored and glowing a healthy blue. Deadlock
Megatron appeals to Ratchet; Optimus takes on Predaking.

Synopsis
Optimus Prime struggles to his feet after having been knocked out of the sky by Predaking, who transforms to robot mode and lands nearby. The Predacon charges up his blaster, but Optimus rebounds with a flurry of punches.

Inside the Solaris building, a firefight between Autobots and Vehicons is brought to a swift end by one of Wheeljack's grenades. The Autobots make their way into the next room, where Shockwave is overseeing the theft of the particle collider, and begin fighting the Decepticon forces there.

Outside, Optimus continues to hammer away at Predaking, temporarily keeping him on the defensive, but the Predacon lashes out with a savage kick that sends Optimus sprawling. Predaking transforms back to beast mode and is about to unleash a blast of flame at the prone Autobot when Megatron contacts him over the comm, ordering him to help secure the collider. Frustrated, Predaking fires his flame into the night sky.

Inside, the Autobots finish mopping up the Vehicons as Ultra Magnus beats Shockwave to his knees. He offers the Decepticon a chance to surrender before Predaking bursts in, makes short work of the Autobots, and flees with Shockwave and the collider. Outside, Optimus Prime rises shakily to his feet, just in time to see Predaking GroundBridge out.

Arcee radios Ratchet to return them to base. Fowler, Bulkhead, and Smokescreen are just coming to after being knocked out by Soundwave, and Bulkhead reports that Ratchet is gone.

Aboard the Nemesis, Megatron informs the captive Ratchet that he requires his assistance. Ratchet defiantly refuses to cooperate. Megatron says that cooperation isn't required, as Shockwave approaches the Autobot with a cortical psychic patch.

At the Autobot base, Arcee examines the piece of Laserbeak's wing that Smokescreen shot off while the young Autobot laments his poor aim. Ultra Magnus and Bulkhead confirm that Ratchet is nowhere on the premises, and that he didn't leave via the Autobot GroundBridge. Because there have been no ransom demands, Optimus reasons that Ratchet has something the Decepticons want.

Predaking learns that an Autobot is aboard the ship, and states that he's going to do to him what he failed to do to the Prime. Megatron explains that the captive is necessary for the restoration of Cybertron, but once that's no longer the case, he will be turned over to the Predacon.

While Fowler barks orders for increased surveillance and satellite monitoring into the phone, Wheeljack theorizes that the Decepticons took Ratchet for his synthetic energon formula. Smokescreen asks why that would be necessary when the Decepticons already control most of the planet's Energon. Optimus remembers Ratchet's belief that Megatron is attempting to rebuild the Omega Lock, and deduces that Synth En could be a necessary component. Fowler, now off the phone, relays his concern to the Autobots; if the Decepticons found Ratchet, it means they know the location of their base.

Shockwave reports that the psychic patch only confirms Ratchet has not yet stabilized the synthetic energon formula. Megatron tries a different tactic, waiting for Ratchet to revive and telling the Autobot directly that he wants to help him complete the formula. Ratchet rejects the idea outright, until Megatron reveals his intentions; that the Synth En, when combined with CNA, forms the basis for an alternative Cyber Matter that can be used to restore Cybertron. Ratchet refuses to collaborate with Megatron, calling him a barbarian responsible for destroying Cybertron in the first place and crushing Bumblebee's voice box. Megatron offers him a choice: the first option is to complete the formula. The second option is represented by an image of Jack, Raf, and Miko displayed on Soundwave's visor. Ratchet tries to feign disinterest in the humans, but the image on Soundwave's visor changes to that of the Autobot base. Megatron tells Ratchet that if he agrees to cooperate, the humans and the Autobots will not be harmed. The Decepticons leave him to ponder the offer, and Starscream asks if Megatron was being serious. Megatron says of course he wasn't, and tells Starscream to assemble his armada and destroy the Autobots' base once again.

At the base, Fowler and the Autobots are uneasy about the lack of Decepticon activity. Optimus notes that since the Cons aren't stealing Predacon bones or Earth technology anymore, there's no way to track them. Ultra Magnus suggests splitting into teams for some "old school" searching, but is interrupted by alarms signaling an incoming attack. As Starscream and a fleet of Vehicons emerge from the skies, soldiers rush to their jets to prepare a defense. Starscream commands his troops to concentrate their attack on Hangar E as the military jets open fire. Starscream evades the humans' artillery and lets loose a volley of missiles that hit Hangar E and reduce it to a fiery ruin. He reports to Megatron that the mission has been accomplished, and the Decepticons depart.

The Autobots watch as soldiers put out the flames amidst the rubble that used to be the mess hall, and Ultra Magnus muses that the Decepticons were fooled by a simple paint job. The actual Hangar E, now repainted to say F, is still in one piece.

Back on the Nemesis, Megatron has Ratchet released to give him a tour of the ship. Ratchet's first instinct is to attack, but he finds himself reluctantly impressed by the Decepticon technology. Megatron uses the opportunity to convince him that Autobots and Decepticons share a common goal in the restoration of Cybertron. Ratchet says that bringing back Cybertron would not stop Megatron's ambitions, which the Decepticon leader doesn't deny, but at least they would have a world worth fighting over. Ratchet asks what assurance he would have that Megatron would leave Earth alone. Megatron simply replies that no assurance is being offered, confident that Ratchet's desire to restore Cybertron will overpower his reservations.

At their base, the Autobots have realized that the piece of Laserbeak which Smokescreen shot off is his transponder. Raf hooks it up to his laptop and says that it's trying to communicate with the Decepticon warship. Jack asks how Raf can understand Cybertronian code, and Raf says that Ratchet used to teach him in his free time. Fowler asks if they can triangulate the signal, but Ultra Magnus reminds him it's going to a shielded ship. Arcee notes that if the transponder was still attached to Laserbeak, they could follow it. Wheeljack proposes giving it wings, and he and Raf start putting the idea into action.

Jack sees Fowler staring thoughtfully at the Apex Armor and asks if anything's wrong. Fowler admits he's been thinking of humanity's close calls at the hands of the Decepticons, and that technology like the armor could give their military agents a fighting chance even when the Autobots aren't around to protect them. He also suggests that Jack could be one of those agents himself someday, an idea he's apparently discussed with Jack's mother. Jack isn't thrilled to hear they've been talking about him, but his protest is interrupted by the result of Raf's work: Chip, a small flying device built to house Laserbeak's transponder, which will lead them straight to the Decepticon warship.
Ratchet posits that even if the Omega Lock could be reconstructed, there's no way to scientifically replicate the device's mystical properties. Megatron says they won't know until they try, and shows Ratchet their progress: an almost-completed Omega Lock, attached to the underbelly of the Nemesis. Realizing just how close they really are to being able to restore Cybertron, Ratchet agrees to complete the Synth En formula.
Notes
Animation and technical errors
* Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus are shown to be the same height when standing behind the hanger after the Decepticon attack. In "Rebellion" and every episode since, Optimus has been depicted at least a head and shoulders taller than Ultra Magnus.

Continuity notes
* Megatron persuades Ratchet into completing the synthetic energon formula that he created in Stronger, Faster".
* Megatron tearing out Bumblebee's vocoder is again referenced, this time explicitly. It was first detailed in "Operation Bumblebee, Part 1" and the novel Transformers: Exodus.
* Soundwave's picture of the children was taken way back in "Darkness Rising, Part 5".
* Starscream has previously described humans as "the weak link" in "Darkness Rising, Part 3".
* The Decepticons already destroyed one Autobot base in "Darkest Hour".
* Miko obtained the Apex Armor in "Chain of Command".
* Fowler mentions being stuck in Knock Out's trunk with June Darby, which occurred in "Plus One".
* The Decepticons successful reconstructed the Omega Lock aboard the Nemesis spaceship underneath. The Lock was first seen in "Regeneration", then in "Darkest Hour".

Transformers references
*"Chip" the flying drone is a reference to Chip Chase.

Real-world references
* Fowler's dazed ramblings about there being "a man on the wing of this plane" refers to the famous The Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet".

Trivia
* Though Predaking named himself in "Evolution", this episode marks the first instance of him giving it to the Autobots.
* Shockwave mocks Ultra Magnus's bad hand during their fight, even though he likewise only has one functional hand and a permanently affixed cannon.
* This is the first episode to lack a title sequence since "Darkness Rising, Part 5".
:::It's during the in-game banter, I'd say during the second autobot chapter but could be the third. If memory serves, a teammate voices his approval of Optimus' taking matters in his own hands and acting like a leader and Optimus retorts as soon as the war's over he'll go back to working at the docks. ::::Everyone at Hasbro sure seems to think so. Exodus, which is written apparently from the Prime show backstory, includes the events of WFC loosely within its second half. --ItsWalky 19:11, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
:::::Even if they're not in the exact same universe, they're certainly in the same continuity family, so they'd get the same page. Just as Sunbow Prime and IDW Prime are both on the G1 page.Kaje 19:31, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
::And there are others. Well, I haven't read Exodus but based on the summary on this wiki it's more like two different stories that reach the same end point. For one, in WfC Optimus doesn't become a Prime at the beginning of the war, but after Zeta's death, mere days before the evacuation. And the Matrix is introduced in a completely different way, possibly doesnt even exist until the end of chapter 8. Bobbington 08:29, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
:::Exodus tries to have it both ways. Once you get to the end of the book and Sentinel dies, Optimus gets the Matrix then, and Alpha Trion notes that Prime wasn't truly a Prime until this moment, regardless of what the council said. So he was dubbed a Prime by the council at the beginning, but it wasn't really true until just before they left Earth. --ItsWalky 08:34, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
::::Yeah, I guess it's an honorable fix, yet still doesn't mesh, mind you. In the game it's mentioned Optimus first refused to be a Prime, which is why he doesn't have the title (whether or not this landed Zeta the job is unclear since the way they word it at times I may almost think they could have several Primes at once) and the Matrix is unrelated to the Council and the Prime title they bestow.Bobbington 08:42, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
:::::Why don't we just change the opening to "The young bot who would become Optimus Prime" rather than have it at Optimus or Orion Pax, and wait until Prime premiers and see if it ever goes with one or the other?

In the game, it's Optimus, not Orion Pax. Does the book override the game, or vice versa?
-ThiAthEhn
: The events of the game happen within the last half of the novel, after Optimus has stopped being Orion Pax. --ItsWalky 09:52, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
::The tricky bit is still that the game starts before he decides to become Optimus Prime, ie in the novel he goes from Orion Pax to Optimus Prime, while in the game he goes from Optimus to Optimus Prime.Bobbington 12:52, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
:::Yeah, the article's current bio doesn't take into account the WFC game at all. --FFN 13:59, 1 July 2010 (EDT)
:::Hmm. The game does have a scene where Megatron and Optimus talk about something that happened between them before the game started. --FFN 03:19, 2 July 2010 (EDT)
Profile Should Be Rewritten
The Character profile here right now is all Exodus stuff. But almost all of it is stuff that is totally different in WfC. The Character profiles are supposed to be generic and fit all version of the character. I think this one needs to be moved to the Exodus sub-section and a new more general Prime (Prime) (that's fun) profile written, Yes?--ZacWilliam 08:57, 3 July 2010 (EDT)
:I agree, it's a bit too specific about the Exodus stuff considering what a big deal WFC is as a form of Prime media. I believe the reason it totally lacks WFC stuff is because Walky wrote it and apparently hasn't played WFC yet. ::Right now I can see two distinct reasons beyond "no" (this isn't a poll actually). One, WFC is no less a franchise than Power Core Combiners, and it was a game accompanied by a novel, a comic and toys. At one point Prime toys were going to be released as Generations, but it's still a Transformers franchise. Afterall, Tracks was released as part of the unsubtitled range last year, but he's still a G1 character.
::Chris, I know how you feel about moving it to (WFC) as Prime is where we're really getting to know these characters, that's why we have the Prime designs as the main images. If you are for uniformity, perhaps it is time to move Optimus Prime (Movie) to "Optimus Prime (LVF)", and this to "Optimus Prime (Aligned)"?
::Regardless, I will be adding WFC Autobots and Decepticons cats to these pages. Alientraveller 09:45, 28 February 2011 (EST)
Should it be mentioned in the article that the panel his back wheels are attached to causes stress marks to the surrounding plastic around the hinges on the sides of his legs when the panel is flipped? I have the United and Darkside versions, and they both feature plastic hinge parts that are quite thick, meaning that the panel is tense, is difficult to flip over, and that the plastic tends to press hard onto his legs when flipped, resulting in some nasty stress marks. What evidence is there that Optimus Prime is the same guy as WFC/Prime Optimus, other than the off-the-cuff comment that Cybertron is uninhabitable? It's not like a deserted Cybertron is exclusive to the Aligned continuity family, after all. Tom Servo the Great 18:04, 18 December 2011 (EST)
: The cartoon goes to great lengths to suggest there's a larger Transformers universe that Rescue Bots is not allowed to interact with. If this cartoon were truly its own thing, with no connections to any concurrently-running television show, they wouldn't be going out of their way to bring up the war and then make up excuses for why these dudes don't get to be a part of it. That this is Optimus Prime (Prime)'s "secret second family" is the simplest answer to the question of why all this complexity for no reason.
: Plus, frankly, I bet anything Hasbro produces these days is from that Aligned bible. The only reason these guys have separate pages to begin with is that representatives at Toy Fair said these guys were from a universe with no Decepticons. Clearly, that's not the case. And if we were never told that, I would have bunched up these characters with the Prime universe.
: Remember, the Prime continuity family also includes War for Cybertron. Two out of three of Hasbro's new outlets for Transformers content (WFC, Prime cartoon) are in the Aligned continuity family. To think that the third, Rescue Bots, is not included in this group, even though the RB cartoon spends considerable time to make it possible for the three to coexist... is illogical. --ItsWalky 18:17, 18 December 2011 (EST)
:::RB takes place on an island which is specifically indicated as being a special place for experimental technology. That's another piece of evidence for RB sharing a universe with the Prime cartoon. If it didn't need to share a universe, they wouldn't have had to spend time talking about how this is a place different from everywhere else. I was going to say that this cartoon could also fit into the Movieverse.... except by the time Prime first starts his recorded broadcasts welcoming other Autobots to Earth, it's the end of Movie 1 and all of humankind already knows about TFs, meaning there's no need for secrecy for the Rescue guys. It would be very fun to merge Prime and RB, though I'm a bit concerned that that judgment might be being nudged forwards more by how much fun it is rather than how ironclad solid the evidence is. I don't think we are at our usual standard of evidence yet, but I also don't think we will ever get any more than what we've got now. The Galvatron II page includes the bio writeup for Universe Galvatron because he's potentially a toy of that character, with a disclaimer stating that he might not be as well. Something that makes me lean more towards it taking place before Prime season 1 would be Optimus Prime's altmode. In Prime, he is certainly a long-nosed truck. The Rescue Bots Optimus toy has him turn into a flat-nosed truck. If he ever eventually transforms in the Rescue Bots cartoon, here's hoping his altmode is one that doesn't interfere with the overall shape of his Prime altmode. Cuz, unless he's doing some spontaneous altmode switching, him turning into a flat-nosed truck would lean more towards Rescue Bots taking place before Prime, allowing Optimus to be two different kinds of trucks in both shows. But, if the show has him turn into a long-nosed truck, in spite of what toy turns into, then there's more leeway for the Rescue Bots cartoon to occur at either time (before or during Prime season 1). --Sabrblade 01:56, 31 December 2011 (EST)
