:Part of the first wave of ''[[Beast Wars: Transformers (toyline)|Beast Wars]]'' product, Dinobot transforms into what his bio claims is a "vicious ''[[Popular beast alternate modes|Velociraptor]]''". His tail detaches and separates to form a gear-powered, spinning blade "cyber-slash tail weapon", while the central "tail bone" separates to be used as a sword. The entire assembly can store in [[robot mode]] by flipping down the tail-mount and pegging the blade's base to the peg on his lower back. Like all early Deluxe-and-up ''Beast Wars'' toys, he has a "mutant mask", halves of a dino-skull that flip up to cover his more robotic head. Thankfully these pieces are not pinned in, and can be easily removed for better clearance and show-accuracy.

:The original Dinobots shipped on cards with "rocky"-shaped bubbles. Later (and more numerous) assortments moved to a smooth, rounded bubble, leading the first packaging type to become sought-after collectibles on the secondary market. The second packaging variant also saw a slight difference in the toy's tooling, leaving a blank square cut out of his abdomen mold for a [[rubsign]] in preparation for [[Grimlock (G1)/toys#Beast Wars|his 1997 redeco]].

:Takara's initial release of the toy was identical to the [[Hasbro]] version (save packaging, of course). In January 1998, Takara [[redeco]]ed many of the ''Beast Wars'' toys and re-released them in slightly more show-like tones; Dinobot's distressingly pinkish skin was changed to tan, his orange robot eyes became red, his flat blue face became metallic blue, his orange dinosaur eyes became white, and his helmet was painted in metallic gold. This version also features the blank square for a rubsign.

Like the other ''10th Anniversary'' toys, he has a faction symbol tampoed on his body; in Dinobot's case, there's a Maximal logo on the left side of his robot chest. Like Fox Kids! Dinobot, this toy has the Energon Chip indent and shoulder ratchets that were added for ''Beast Wars'' Grimlock.

While definitely more [[Show-accuracy|accurate to the CGI model]] than the Hasbro [[Transformers: Beast Wars 10th Anniversary|10th Anniversary]] version from the previous year, most of its color-scheme decisions favor the robot mode, such as bronze/gold shoulder joints. The result of this is a less consistently colored beast mode than the Hasbro version. It is the first (and only) version of the mold to place deco on the "mutant mask" halves.

:Though there are some colors dropped between the transition from CGI model to toy, Telemocha Dinobot does currently hold the prize for the sheer number of paint applications used on this mold, and by a large margin. Perhaps most significant to many fans, however, is that this version of Dinobot has a mouth, if only in the form of a paint operation.

It scales correctly with the other ''Masterpiece Beast Wars'' figures. Unlike Primal or Cheetor, Dinobot features printed details and a coat of chip-resistant paint, making him a lot more durable.

: Dinobot also comes with many accessories: first, his two trademark weapons—his tail weapon with working spinning gimmick and the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]]. The Disk is fully detailed, complete with the "The Sounds of Earth" label sculpted on it. Dinobot also comes with 4 different faces for the robot (serious, smirking, smiling and growling); the latter one has clear eyes that can glow via an LED inside his head; a switch will allow the eyes to light up both in red and green. To complement the latter option, the figure also comes with an extra piece that represents Dinobot's eye beams. The light-up feature is fueled by two LR44 batteries (not included). The raptor head can also emote, but needs no extra pieces: a panel on top of the head can be flipped to replace the regular eyes with a second, narrower pair. A final accessory, a stand is formed by a 2-piece base that can be united in multiple directions, the regular arm and 3 extra attachments: one is to hook the Golden Disk onto the base, one is for Dinobot's robot mode and the last one is a cradle to place Dinobot's raptor mode on the stand. Much like the new ''Masterpiece Movie Series'' figures, Dinobot's robot mode mouth can open and close.

: Due to a [[design flaw]] on the initial release, moving Dinobot's robot shoulders through their normal outward range of motion carries a risk of breaking off a small ridge inside the ratchet joint due to an overly strong spring. Lubricating the joints with grease or dish soap can prevent the issue, and it was rectified on later releases with a weaker spring and slightly thicker ridge within the ratchet.

His hands have a [[5 mm post|5 mm port]] that can hold both his weapons and can close to hold objects (for example: the Golden Disks associated with the [[Ark (G1)#War for Cybertron: Kingdom|Titan Class Ark]]). He also has 5mm ports under his heels and one under his back-[[kibble]]. His tail can detach and split into two components: his Cyber Slash tail weapon, and his signature sword. The sword's tip is molded with the same texture as Dinobot's skin, presumably to better blend in as the tail tip in beast mode. Due to the Cyber Slash weapon connection, the sword cannot be held by other Transformers toys with traditional 5mm port hands. The Cyber Slash weapon can store in robot mode by attaching to the same port as beast mode. : Part of the first wave of ''[[Beast Wars: Transformers (toyline)|Beast Wars]]'' Deluxe toys (sort of, see below), Cheetor transforms into an organic, big cat-like creature somewhat resembling a [[Popular beast alternate modes|cheetah]]. As such, he is yellow and covered in spots. In [[robot mode]], he is armed with a rifle made out of his hindquarters and tail, along with a second [[water-squirting gimmick|water-squirting]] "quasar canon" formed out of his stomach. As with most early ''Beast Wars'' toys, he features a "[[mutant head]]" that replaces his face, although because the entire head is mounted on a cabinet-style vertical swivel, it is difficult to keep the mutant head set in position.

: There are several minor but noteworthy variations of this toy. The initial wave-1 "rocky bubble" release features blue cheetah eyes and was incredibly hard to find due to delayed shipping; he only shipped in later, short-run "revision" cases of wave 1. The "smooth bubble" release later in the year gave him red cheetah eyes. He was released again in 1997 (what with being a popular show character) in ''Beast Wars''{{'}} second year, this time with bright green cheetah eyes, and the gold robot eyes of the previous two versions were changed to green.

:[[TakaraTomy|Takara]] released two different Cheetor toys; one that was the same as Hasbro's red-eyed version, and a [[Variant|running change]] [[:File:BW toy - Running change Cheetor.jpg|version]] in January 1998 that not only has various color tweaks to make him slightly more show-colored (including dark green cheetah eyes, a gold head crest instead of blue, and red robot eyes), but also has a slight [[Retool|mold tweak]] to keep the beast head pointed forward in robot mode, based on [[Hasbro]]'s initial release of [[Tigatron]], which has been retained on all versions thereafter.

In beast mode, two rocket boosters can be flipped out (and extended, which the cartoon failed to show) of the sides of the cat torso to create a "flight mode", plus his tail rotates 180 to provide a "stabilizer" fin. In robot mode, his removable tail becomes a spiked whip, but he has no ranged weaponry, though you can put his two-fingered hands together to simulate the "gun" he used on the show. He also features an energon chip applied to the inside of the left wing. The toy suffers from a design flaw where the breast plate's hinges that holds both arms up in beast mode suffers from a lot of stress, and, over time, can't hold up the cheetah head properly anymore.

* The first Cheetor toy was originally intended to be part of the first wave of ''Beast Wars'' Deluxes released, but experienced a delayed initial release, coming several weeks afterward. His main [[gimmick]] is his left arm, which contains a hidden missile launcher. Pushing down on his shoulder armor "winds" the mechanism in his gauntlet. Pushing the spark crystal on his bicep spins his gauntlet around, simultaneously triggering the spring-loaded missile launcher and activating his spring-loaded ramming "blast punch" action, extending his fist forward nearly a full inch. He also has hidden jet thrusters under a panel on his back. In beast mode, a small button on the top of his head pushes his upper face up in a "snarling" action.

:Due to the small size of the two gears used to rotate the forearm, manually transforming Optimus's left arm can damage the gimmick to the point of no longer working. The soft plastic used in the gears prevents them from crumbling apart and allowing them to be glued to the pin, but damage can be prevented by using the wind-up mechanism exclusively to transform the arm. If it must be moved by hand, turning the forearm in the same direction as the motor allow the larger gears to safely ratchet to minimize damage.

: Released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of ''[[Beast Wars: Transformers (franchise)|Beast Wars]]'', ''[[War for Cybertron: Kingdom]]'' Optimus Primal transforms from a robot accurate to his appearance in the first season of the ''[[Beast Wars: Transformers (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' cartoon into a realistic gorilla in 22 steps, as well as a cartoon-accurate ''King Kong'' style bipedal gorilla third mode. The figure makes up for its size with above-average articulation, including butterfly shoulder joints, double-jointed knees, opening hands, rotating shins for a foot point, and toe articulation in both modes. Optimus Primal also has fold-out shoulder cannons, two Cyber Blades that store on his back in either mode and pop-out jointed forearm blasters. A rarity for the ''War for Cybertron Trilogy'', Optimus Primal has no [[5 mm post|5 mm]] ports barring his hands, making him largely incompatible with the [[C.O.M.B.A.T. System]]. However, he still features 3 mm posts at the end of his blaster tips, as well as his buttflap; helping to replicate his "Primejets" from the ''Beast Wars'' cartoon. His hands also feature articulated fingers along with a thumb molded to approximate the 5 mm peghole, although due to this he cannot hold both Cyber Blades in one hand as the original figure could.

:Stock renders cast his robot-mode feet in a more show-accurate grey. Hasbro stock photography (right) is mistransformed, with the robot mode's shoulder cannons still extended on the gorilla's shoulders. Some pictures also pose his gorilla legs in a way that makes the flap of thigh-covering [[kibble]] appear like a loincloth, when it can plug into his [[flight stand]] port to sit flush with the legs for a natural appearance. Optimus Primal also comes packaged with his shoulder cannons deployed, although they can be folded away in robot mode. Some specimens have silver paint on the Cyber Blades, others are off-white. It is not known which [[variant]] is more common.
