For my money, I prefer the first two, and I went with "New Aligned" over "Modern" because it's more unique and descriptive, plus it's less prone to dating. "War for Cybertron/Exodus" is clunky, and I vehemently dislike "Prime" because of all the confusion and debates we've caused ourselves by having both a [[Generation 1 (franchise)|"G1" franchise]] and a [[Generation 1 continuity family|"G1" continuity family]]. "Bible" strikes me as kind of left-field and too laden with real-world baggage.

I don't mean to impose my opinion; if the community prefers a different name, that's cool. And of course, if Hasbro ever declares an official name, this whole question is moot. But in the meantime... gotta have something.

:I myself have been using the term "Modern Aligned Continuity" to refer to this canon, combining both of the terms that Hasbro has used. I'd say that both terms are able to encompass WFC, Exodus, and Prime without favoring one over the other. But since there are two terms, and since neither seems to take precedence over the other, I just use both at once. Everyone who has spoken up agrees that "Aligned" is good, even if we differ in our preference of modifiers. So I'm cool with the move to just "Aligned". If there are no further objections, I suggest we start propagating the name in places like continuity-notes, i.e., ''Skyquake is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Transformers: Prime (franchise)|Prime]] portion of the [[Aligned continuity family]].'' ===New idea===
This idea has crossed my mind recently. The core of this new continuity is the Binder of Revelation, which chronicles the entire history of this continuity's universe. And this is supposed to be the final major continuity of the franchise. So basically, the Binder of Revelation telling the last era of the TF franchise's life. To me, this seems sort of like a parallel to the Book of Revelation tells of the last era of real life. It's further reinforced by the guys at Hasbro calling their "'''B'''ook" the "'''B'''inder '''of Revelation'''". So what I'm getting at is, perhaps this continuity (family) can be referred to as the franchise's own sort of "Revelation". Maybe we could apply the term "Revelation", or even "the Revelation" as this new continuity (family)'s name. It looks a bit more formal than simply "Aligned continuity family". So, the major eras would go something like: "Generation 1 --> Generation 2 --> the Beast Era --> Robots in Disguise --> the Unicron Trilogy --> the Live-action film series and Animated --> the Revelation." :It is unclear whether Hasbro intends the New Aligned fiction to merely sit askew from the rest of the multiverse, or rather to supersede it somehow. Hasbro has not used the term "[[canon]]" in its statements, so this wiki assumes the former in accordance with our [[Canon#Canon in Transformers|"everything is canon"]] policy.

Basically, I think it's important for the reader to know that there are a couple of ways to interpret the information we've gotten, but we're running with one for practicality's sake.

You could take that to be a bridge between WfC and Prime, or you could take it as a contradiction because he's not actually ''silent'' in the cartoon. Megatron's is notable because it hints at his willingness to do stuff like infuse himself with Dark Energon, though it uses much more nonspecific terms. Soundwave and Cliffjumper's bios are both fairly generic.

== Bot Shots and Kre-O ==

Both of these look like they should count as Aligned:
* Hasbro said that the bulk of new Transformers properties would be Aligned
* Both follow the "combining previous franchises' portrayals" pattern that Aligned is based around
* Bot Shots introduced the Predacon faction (and the Beast Hunters concept) at the same time as Prime
* The extreme difference in visual style is nothing new - take anything listed as [[Super deformed]], for instance
* As for the characters who look significantly different from their Aligned counterparts (e.g. [[Sentinel Prime (Kre-O)]] and [[Sentinel Zeta Prime]]) - well, that's already happened within Aligned: [[Hot Shot (Prime)]] and [[Arcee (WFC)]], for example, are unrecognisable in their Prime forms compared to their WFC forms
To me, it looks like Hasbro wanted to continue what they were doing in Prime in other forms of toys, and didn't bother saying "these are Aligned" because it's only us that care about things like continuity families. The toys weren't made to be scrutinised like this, and continuity families are such a vaguely-defined concept in the first place, as we discovered with the movie and IDW debates. [[Galvatron II]] is "officially" split despite being the same basic Megatron-remade-by-Unicron guy as the majority of the page - albeit as the ''second'' Marvel alt-future-moved-to-the-present Galvatron - whereas [[Galvatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity]] is merely "split to a subpage for length" when he has nothing to do with Megatron or Unicron. Japanese ''The Headmasters'' characters are on the same page as their Hasbro counterparts despite wildly different personalities and origins, later JG1 guys like the Seacons are split. There is very little consistency.
:::::Now, on the topic at hand - the IDW FOC/Rage/BH comics made a HUGE effort to link FOC Grimlock and the TF Prime cartoon continuity. In which case, green/black ex-Decepticon Young Grimlock is absolutely "Grimlock II" until proven otherwise, since he has nothing in common with FOC Grimlock bar the name that (e.g.) Sideswipe and Knockout don't also share, as both red cars, one of whom was a Decepticon who defected to the Autobots. Botcon 2007. One of the Pannels. From what I understand originally (wasn't there myself) there was a whole different set in planning for this year, which is where Alpha Trion stems from and why he's not in any of the Con fiction. They apparently dumped whatever that concept was (including Sentinel Prime) in favor of Springer and co. but kept Alpha Trion anyway because they just really liked him. I don't know if they said what the others were besides Sentinel. Anyone know?

==Overhaul==
Okay... I don't remember what brought me to this page, but as I read it... it's kind of... embarrassingly outdated and perfunctory. Removing all the individual years' nitpicky data is good and all, but... we've been left with a meatless skeleton of an article. Seriously, look at the "exclusive fiction" section. What a fucking joke. "It exists". No info on trends, evolutions, additions. Nothing on the conventions moving from year to year. No note how 2002 becoming officially "official" was only really publicly acknowledging that it basically already WAS since '97. 
I did a little tweaking to the toys section, but it needs a LOT more. That the largest section of this page is the ''list of toys '''NOT''' produced for BotCon'' is too sad to be hilariously awful. This is Transformers fucking MECCA and our page on it is good for little more than the link-chart up top to the individual conventions. ==Synopsis==
[[Seaspray (G1)|Seaspray]] is pulling a water skiing [[Bumblebee (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Bumblebee]] around a lake, but Bumblebee wipes out while trying to jump a ramp. 'Bee decides to call it a day, as the first star comes out. Seaspray makes a wish on the star, but keeps it a secret, otherwise it won't come true.

Meanwhile, on [[Tlalak|another planet]], the [[Tlalakan]]s are all wishing for one thing... freedom from [[Deceptitran]], who has enslaved them. He has developed a unique method of gathering [[energon]] by directly harvesting it from the Tlalakans themselves. However, the Tlalakans have finally had enough, and revolt. As his droids appear incapable of stopping them, Deceptitran sends out a distress signal.

Back on [[Earth]], Seaspray is still wishing on stars, when he suddenly receives a signal. Heading back to the [[Ark (G1)|base]], the two [[Autobot]]s show it to [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] and [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]. Perceptor can't identify any specifics, but he is sure that it's a distress signal. Optimus sends the three in [[Cosmos (G1)|Cosmos]], but the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] himself is too large to come. The Autobots depart, as Optimus wishes them luck. Before they reach the planet, Perceptor discovers that the distress signal is similar to ones intercepted during the [[Third Cybertron War]]. Seaspray suddenly realizes that they're responding to a distress signal intended for the [[Decepticon]]s. Before they can abort, Deceptitran detects them, and orders the droids to open fire. As the Autobots emerge from the crash, the droids swoop in to finish the job, when the Tlalakans suddenly attack. Seaspray manages to save one, who calls herself [[Alana]]... and Seaspray appears a little shy.

Meanwhile, [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]] enters the planet's atmosphere and lands in the city. [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] has come with [[Soundwave (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Soundwave]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], and [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] to assist. After Deceptitran briefs Megatron on the situation, the Decepticons go Autobot hunting.

Meanwhile, the Autobots are being taken to the [[Well of Transformation]], which the Tlalakans describe as the one secret that they have kept from Deceptitran. Unfortunately, a pair of droids have followed them in. Bumblebee downs one, while Seaspray throws another into the Well...where it dissolves. Alana explains that the Well dissolves the body, leaving only the lifeforce, which the Tlalakans use to change into whatever they want. Alana warns them not to get in, fearing that they will die just like the droid. After turning into a mermaid, Alana bids them farewell, blowing Seaspray a [[kiss]]. Bumblebee has to drag a babbling Seaspray out of the cave.

Heading to the river, the Autobots are discovered by [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]], and the rest of the Decepticons swoop in. Seaspray [[Transformation|transforms]] and takes the Autobots down the river—and right over the waterfall. Perceptor, Seaspray, and Cosmos are rescued by the Tlalakans, while Bumblebee is captured. The Autobots are taken to the Tlalakans underwater city, the only place that the Decepticons have not conquered. They meet [[Tlaloc]], their king, who loans them some warriors to rescue Bumblebee and storm the city. However, Cosmos and Perceptor are too damaged. It's just Seaspray and his men. Er, mermen. After the mermen and Alana change back into humans, some of the mermen set bombs under the city, heralding the start of the attack. The Decepticons go to attack the Tlalakans, while Bumblebee activates a homing beam. He signals Seaspray, who rescues Bumblebee and damages Deceptitran. The Tlalakans withdraw, taking Bumblebee with them, while Seaspray and Alana go to the well. Unfortunately, Laserbeak follows Bumblebee underwater...

In the control room, Deceptitran is having a panic attack, causing Megatron to simply turn him off (why he doesn't do that with [[Starscream (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Starscream]] is beyond anyone's guess). Megatron receives a signal from Laserbeak, and promises to join their little friend in a short while...

In the forest, the Tlalakans are being chased by the droids, but manage to reach the Well of Transformation. Seaspray asks if Alana really believes he would die if he went in, but Alana points out that they're both machines. Feeling dejected, Seaspray resolves to go into the Well, as Alana cries out in horror. Believing him dead, Alana muses that she ''did'' love Seaspray...only for Seaspray to emerge as a blond muscle man, but with robot feet (and for some reason, still a gargling voice). The two jump into the Well and change into merpeople. They discover that the city is under attack by the Decepticons, but Seaspray doesn't have any weapons systems as a merman. Spotting them, Megatron orders Rumble to follow. Rumble begins firing, only for his body to also be affected by the Well. Alana begins to tell Rumble to think of a big tree, or become lost. Rumble survives...as a tree. Seaspray resumes his old robot mode, while Alana takes one of her own, as a measure for fighting Decepticons, but she likes her color (guess what [[Elita One|it]] [[Arcee (G1)|is]]). On the surface, Seaspray and Alana head to the above water city (with Alana transforming into a gondola) and attack Deceptitran's forces.

Underwater, the Decepticons are overwhelming the Autobots and Tlalakans, when Megatron receives a mayday from Deceptitran. Megatron is willing to leave Deceptitran to die, but the energon must be protected. Heading back for the city, the Decepticons spot Seaspray, and follow him into the energon warehouse. However, the droids fire on the Decepticons, as Alana has reprogrammed Decepitran to serve her. The explosion causes a massive tremor, destroys the city and causes Rumble, back in the caves, to fall into the Well of Transformation, allowing him to change back. Megatron orders Astrotrain to transform and take them off the planet.

As the Tlalakans celebrate, Alana has retaken her human form, but tells Seaspray that they won't let it ruin their relationship. As the two sail off into the sunset, Bumblebee notices the first star, and asks if anyone wants to make a wish. Perceptor asks why, and Bee says that it's merely a [[human]] superstition he heard...

Then a layering error has him flying past the ramp (in front of it, looking tiny) instead of going over it. Then part of his feet and skis disappear after he clears the ramp.

** "Because that is my programming!" - Deceptitran's mouth doesn't move as he laughs after delivering this line.
** Prime's mouthplate doesn't move as he restates Perceptor's analysis.

* In the first shot of the newly arrived Decepticons, Rumble's model is replaced by one Deceptitran's droid's. Also, Dirge and Soundwave are both missing their Decepticon symbols.
* As Deceptitran tells Megatron about the Autobots, he's floating above the floor instead of sitting on it.
* Soundwave's 'con symbol is missing again as he moves to capture Bumblebee.
* Flying Autobots:
** Perceptor and Bumblebee are showing "flying" along underwater without moving their limbs, despite not having any means of propulsion. Seaspray should be using his propellers, but he's not.
* Missing [[Transformation#The noise|transformation noise]]:
** After randomly declaring that "we may be able to repair ourselves after all" for no apparent reason, Perceptor transforms to robot mode with no transformation sound.
** The Decepticons land and transform in sequence to pursue Seaspray into the energon warehouse, but only a single transformation sound effect plays. Dirge finishes his transformation in silence.
* When Alana tells Seaspray to take the tunnel to the surface, Seaspray stops - but his propellors are drawn as though they're still spinning, even though they're not moving.
* Seaspray's shot (which severs Deceptitran's arm) doesn't get the usual Autobot laser sound effect.
* Megatron tells Dirge and the droids to chase Seaspray and Alana, but only the droids go. One of the droids freezes in place behind Megatron as he lands.
* When Rumble moves forward to start the attack, the perspective of his body doesn't correspond to the perspective of his gun.

** Dirge gets a non-standard laser effect as he fires at Seaspray.

* The animators did a pretty good job of remembering that Deceptitran is missing an arm, but it briefly reappears as Alana and Seaspray approach for the second time.

*In all of its other appearances, Cosmos's interior is shown to have light grey walls with a dark grey floor. For this episode only, his interior is the same burnt orange color as the interior of Autobot HQ.
* Moreover, he's got a carrying capacity far greater than what was shown in "[[Blaster Blues]]" and "[[Cosmic Rust (episode)|Cosmic Rust]]" (though comparable to what's shown in "[[Quest for Survival]]".) He ''does'' turn away Optimus Prime as being too big to fit, implying that there is ''some'' kind of size limit on his interior.
* In "The Ultimate Doom" it was shown that Dr. Arkeville couldn't even fill 1 energon cube with his brain power, yet the energy from Chac instantly fills a cube. Deceptitran's equipment appears to do a full-body power drain from the Tlalakans, as opposed to just using "mind energy" as Starscream did.
*Although Tlaloc appears to be among the mer-Tlalakans leading the escaping prisoners away, he later expresses surprise that Alana and Mok are free.
* As usual, it's a bit weird that Perceptor transforms to microscope mode to look at a screen.
*It's implied that the Tlalakans can only change form while in the Well of Transformation, yet Alana's transformation between robot and gondola modes uses the same effect as a Tlalakan changing, rather than a traditional Transformer transformation (as you would expect from her having imitated Cosmos's species) and she's nowhere near the Well. Likewise, she changes from a pink metal robot into a brown wooden boat.
