No Decepticon leader wants '''Fangry''' under his command. The rebellious, foul-mouthed Fangry explodes violently against any being who dares give him an order. He has attacked almost as many unfortunate Decepticons as he has their actual enemies, the [[Autobot|Autobots]]. A Decepticon with a healthy sense of self-preservation will give Fangry orders in the form of mild suggestions or reverse psychology.

Fangry has complete faith in his judgment and his alone. He is unwilling to listen to advice, and his tactics are notoriously flawed. Furthermore, he's likely to be abandoned on the battlefield when in trouble. The mere act of coming to his rescue implies he needs help at all—and, well, you know how he reacts to that idea.

Fangry and his Headmaster partner, Brisko, oversaw part of the [[Z Foundation]]'s attempt at recruiting [[human]]s to take down the Autobots for them. Their pawns, the [[Roadjammers]], ended up overstepping their boundaries and double-crossed the Decepticons. Though the Roadjammers did use the [[jammer]]s they were provided to capture three Autobots, they used a frequency splitter to jam three more Transformers—namely, Fangry and his companions [[Squeezeplay (G1)|Squeezeplay]] and [[Horri-Bull]]. The Decepticons' plans were scrapped when the Roadjammers used their jammer to control all six jammed Autobots and Decepticons to attack [[Zarak (G1)|Mr. Z]] and [[Scorponok (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Scorponok]]. As the threat of [[Unicron/Generation 1|Unicron]] neared, [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Optimus Prime]] surrendered his Autobots to Scorponok's Decepticons on Earth in order to facilitate an alliance against the Chaos Bringer, and Fangry helped the Autobots unload their weapons and partners. {{storylink|Surrender!}} While a second [[Decepticon Civil War]] soon broke out, Fangry was ordered by Soundwave to head topside along with [[Weirdwolf (G1)|Weirdwolf]] and [[Misfire (G1)|Misfire]]. {{storylink|...All This and Civil War 2}} Later, Fangry was surprised that Soundwave was suggesting they lay down their arms and join forces with the Autobots against Unicron, unaware that Soundwave had been hypnotized by [[Mindwipe (G1)|Mindwipe]] (who had himself been coerced by [[Kup (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Kup]]). Fangry survived the Transformers' battle with Unicron, {{storylink|On the Edge of Extinction!}} and when [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] assumed command of the Decepticons, Fangry was quick to assert his independence. Like many Decepticons, he was wary of the Autobot/Decepticon alliance that had tenuously been forged in the aftermath of Unicron's destruction. The new Autobot commander, [[Grimlock (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Grimlock]], didn't make things any easier by throwing cups of oil at Fangry's head to shut him up. Later that night, Fangry tried to jump Grimlock at the [[Central Spaceport]] in [[Ibex]], but bit off more than he could chew, as Grimlock had just received his spiffy new [[Action Master]] upgrade.

After the disaster on Klo, Fangry attempted to challenge Bludgeon's leadership. The Pretender had him down on his back and a [[sword]] at his throat before Fangry even finished the sentence. The Decepticons' next move was to track [[Grimlock (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Grimlock]] and the Dinobots to [[Hydrus Four]], and lay claim to the [[Nucleon (substance)|Nucleon]] supply there. Bludgeon planned to revive the glorious [[Megatron (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Megatron]], but Fangry didn't much care either way. The Dinobots were taken prisoner and Fangry was one of the guards assigned to watch over them, prodding them with [[electro mace]]s whether they stepped out of line or not. Later while bored, he went looking for something to kill. Apparently repaired after having most of his chest and back smashed through by [[Grimlock (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Grimlock]]'s fist on [[Klo]], Fangry was one of countless Decepticons under Bludgeon's command when they fought the Autobots over ownership of a cache of weapons on an unnamed barren world. The Decepticons were easily overpowering the Autobots; Fangry, in particular, was having no problem throwing [[Bumblebee (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Bumblebee]] around, though he did suffer a karate chop from another Autobot. Bludgeon ordered a retreat when a gigantic, [[Guardian (G2)|monstrous creature]] who guarded their quarry warned them away. {{storylink|Ghosts}}

Megatron declared war against them as Fangry and the other Decepticons cheered him on. Their feelings changed, however, when the Warworld was attacked. Fangry and the others fought the Cybertronians on the surface of the Warworld, but they were getting massacred. After grousing with fellow 'Con [[Rapidfire (G1)|Rapidfire]], Fangry first identified [[Tailgate (G1)|Tailgate]] as the guy to fight and then [[Cyclonus (G1)/2005 IDW continuity|Cyclonus]]. After irritating him with the ol' shoulder barge, Fangry left. Tailgate later found Cyclonus badly beaten, and automatically assumed that Fangry had jumped him. He also comes with Headmaster [[Brisko#Buzzworthy Bumblebee|Brisko]], a redeco of the Titan Master portion of [[#Generations|''Titans Return'' Fangry]]. While in beast mode, Brisko can ride in a compartment within the stomach, or stand on the beast's back. Unlike previous mold versions, Fangry has no weapons of any kind, despite his concept art showcasing a rifle.

*The [[bio]] accompanying Generation 1 Fangry's [[Tech Spec]]s notes that he "shoots semi-automatic ion pulse gun" but additionally that his "tail converts to [[Compression cannon|compressed air cannon]] that produces 200 mph gale force winds". Given that his existing tail is formed from his robot mode arms with the fist-holes pointing upwards (you can even store his ion pulse gun there when transformed) this may imply that at some point during the design process, Fangry was intended to come with a tail piece that would become a secondary weapon in robot mode, as his wavemates Squeezeplay and Horri-Bull did. This detail made its way into Fangry's [[Marvel Comics|Marvel]] ''[[The Transformers Universe (Marvel)|Universe]]'' profile and in the comic issue "[[Exodus!]]", it was interpreted as Fangry being able to transform his tail into a compressed air cannon while in his alternate mode, though somewhat bizarrely he had to turn his back on [[Grimlock (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Grimlock]] to fire it at him.
