When the [[Decepticon]]s begin construction of [[Decepticon advance base|an advance base]] on the ocean floor off the coast of [[Australia]], their repeated blasting causes a dormant underwater volcano to become active, in turn triggering a major earthquake that devastates [[Sydney]]. [[Lightfoot (Masterforce)|Lightfoot]] investigates and pinpoints the earthquake's epicenter, diving beneath the waves to examine the volcano. He reports back to [[Autobot Base|Autobot headquarters]] his suspicions that a full-scale eruption may occur in the next 24 hours, but as he continues to gather data, he is attacked by a battalion of [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacons]], exposing the presence of the Decepticons' base there. He alerts [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]] and the [[Headmaster Junior]]s to the situation, but is then surrounded by the Seacons, who tear a fissure into the seabed with their blasts and send Lightfoot tumbling into it. With his communicator damaged in the fall, Lightfoot cannot be contacted by Ginrai and the Juniors, and they and [[Godbomber]] immediately head out to help him. Deducing that they will soon arrive, [[Mega]] instructs [[Turtler]] to ambush Ginrai when he arrives and destroy him and Lightfoot together.

Ginrai and the Juniors soon arrive on the Australian coastline, and Ginrai directs the Juniors to perform rescue operations in Sydney while he investigates underwater. Ginrai heads into the ocean, and after a while, he arrives on the scene, silently observed by the hidden Turtler and [[Gilmer]]. As Ginrai dives the crevasse to rescue Lightfoot, Turtler combines with the Seacons into [[King Poseidon]] and begins heaving rocks in after them, hoping to bury them alive and leave them to the tender mercies of the volcano. It looks like he has succeeded, too, but after a few minutes, a laser blast scatters the rocks, and Ginrai and Lightfoot emerge little the worse for wear. Suddenly, however, the volcanic activity escalates, and the trench begins caving in on the two Autobots again.

In Sydney, the Juniors do the best they can to help, with [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] saving a [[Maria (Masterforce)|young girl]] from some collapsing rubble. With their work done, they head back to the shoreline to see if Ginrai has returned. Informed by Godbomber that he has not, they transform to robot mode and prepare to follow him beneath the waves, but Godbomber restrains them and goes in their place. Very soon, he arrives at the collapsed trench and engages King Poseidon in battle, but as they fight, the volcano finally erupts! King Poseidon is laid low by the flying rocks and magma, and the Decepticons' advance base is likewise destroyed in the conflagration.

Beneath the seabed, Ginrai and Lightfoot are trying to blast their way free, to no avail, when the eruption occurs. Desperate to save his commander before they are consumed by the lava, Lightfoot decides to self-destruct, destroying the rock wall that blocks their escape. Ginrai refuses to allow it, but Lightfoot insists that it is his duty, forcing Ginrai to strike him in order to stop him from killing himself.

Thankfully for both of them, Godbomber smashes his way through the wall, rescuing them both. King Poseidon, however, proves that he is not out yet when he emerges for one last attack, forcing Ginrai and Godbomber to combine into God Ginrai to battle him. The two grapple on the very rim of the volcano, but Ginrai is saved when Lightfoot blasts his way through the Seacon drones and performs a "Chōkon Spin Drill," creating a powerful water spout that nearly pulls King Poseidon in. With his opponent thus distracted, Ginrai is able to turn the tables and flip King Poseidon over his shoulder, blasting him into the caldera with his God Cannon. Then, finally, the eruption reaches its crescendo, and a small island begins to rise up from beneath the sea as lava cools. As the Headmaster Juniors watch this incredible sight, God Ginrai and Lightfoot crest the waves, and swim to shore.

With the Autobots victorious and on their way back to base, Giga rages at the Decepticons' loss, and realizes that they underestimated the power of Godbomber. He, then, must become their next target...

*A quick scene change is all it takes for Gilmer to go from hanging out near the Volcano with Turtler to lurking around the Decepticon base with Giga and Mega.

'''Minerva''' (ミネルバ ''Mineruba'') is [[Minerva's parents|the daughter of]] [[Mont Porte]]'s ambassador to [[Japan]], half-French on her mother's side, and a happy, charming, friendly, talented girl brimming with idealism and care for her fellow man. But Minerva's idealism is a naive kind: petitioning to join the Autobots out of a desire to "fight evil", she quickly found that the reality of war was a lot more than she was prepared for. Already very uncomfortable with violence and now thrown into the heart of a war in which ''children'', of all beings, are so casually made a part of the conflict, Minerva is left struggling to rationalize her role as a warrior, even one on the side of good. As such, she usually refrains from entering battle herself unless circumstances absolutely demand it, instead operating as a battlefield medic and tending to the human victims of the [[Transformer]]s' battles. In the final analysis, Minerva's timidness leaves her simply treating the symptoms of the disease, rather than fighting the cause.

As an Autobot Headmaster Junior, Minerva is bonded to a [[Transtector]] from the planet [[Master (planet)|Master]], which takes the form of an emergency rescue vehicle. Using her [[Master-Brace]]s, she can summon a suit of armor that enhances her physical strength, speed and reflexes, which allows her to transform into a head for her Transtector and function as a full-size Transformer robot armed with a paralyzing "Shock Gun". Outside of combat situations, Minerva is a much more easy-going girl. Clearly raised in an overly "traditional" manner befitting an ambassador's daughter and tutored in various "feminine skills", she is a talented dancer, painter, cook and medic, and has inherited the poise, grace and beauty of her mother, making her the object of many of her male teammates' affections. A word or two of praise from Minerva is enough to bring any Autobot out in a hot flush.

When the news came that her family was moving to Japan, Minerva was especially excited at the prospect of learning traditional Japanese dance, but she could never have guessed that the plane on which they flew would be attacked by the [[Decepticon]] [[Pretender]], [[Blood]], who was searching for Mont Porte's prize-winning biologist, [[Blanieux|Professor Blanieux]]. Their jet crashed in Corsica, but Minerva and her family escaped with only minor injuries, and she was only too happy to talk to the "government investigators" who came to her in the hospital where [[Minerva's parents|her parents]] were being treated. In particular, the two young boys that accompanied the investigators, [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] and [[Cab (human)|Cab]], were very taken with Minerva. The following day, when Professor Blanieux arrived to rendezvous with Minerva's father before he and the family headed on to Japan, the investigators, Shūta and Cab accompanied them on their private jet for fear of any further Decepticon attacks. Blood did indeed strike at the plane, and to combat him, the investigators revealed that they were, in fact, the Autobot [[Pretender]]s. Although Minerva was initially angry with Shūta and Cab for lying to her, she was impressed with their bravery when the jet's [[stewardess]] turned out to be a Decepticon [[Destroid]] and they fought and incapacitated her. With the Decepticons' plan foiled, Shūta and Cab suggested that Minerva could join them in attending the [[International School]], and she happily agreed. {{storylink|Kidnapping!? Having seen the evil of the Decepticons firsthand, Minerva was only to happy to say yes when Autobot leader [[Metalhawk (Masterforce)|Metalhawk]] asked if she wanted to help the Autobots in their fight against them. At first, Hawk was unsure if she was up to the task, but Minerva obtained her parents' permission and assured Hawk that she was willing to spend her life saving the lives of others. Together with Shūta and Cab, Minerva was given Masterbraces and a Transtector and became a Headmaster Junior warrior. {{storylink|Birth! Headmaster Jrs}}

While [[Holographic battle drone|training]] with [[Diver (Masterforce)|Diver]] in America, however, Minerva displayed her lack of confidence with her new power, but was soon forced to face up to the responsibilities it carried when the Decepticons' Headmaster Juniors attacked a nearby city. Unable to summon the courage to join Shūta and Cab in the fight, Minerva was only galvanized into action when she saw a [[little girl (Masterforce)|young girl]] become buried under rubble on news coverage of the battle. Racing into action without a second thought, Minerva followed the girl's [[Pis|dog]] to her side and rescued her, but tragedy then struck when [[Wilder (Masterforce)|Wilder]] killed the poor animal. Finally filled with the emotional fury that drove her to fight, Minerva transformed to robot mode and took out two of the three villains, forcing them to retreat. When Wilder kidnaps one of his former gang members, the sister, [[Mary]] comes to the Juniors for help. During the battle, Minerva and Cab fight together to take down [[Bullhorn (Masterforce)|Bullhorn]], but are stopped when Cancer takes Mary hostage. [[Chris|Her brother]] finally joins the battle with an exploding motorcycle. Minerva catches him after the blast and stuns Wilder and Cancer. On a mission to Kenya, Minerva's choice of ensemble definitely made the trip for Shūta and Cab, but it also left her quite open for a deadly scorpion sting. Thankfully, this was prevented by a well-timed shot from [[Ricky]]. While the other Autobots battled the Decepticons in the area, Minerva put her medical talents to use treating an injured fawn for which Ricky was caring. {{storylink|Panic! Protect the Wild Animals!!}} Upon returning to Japan, the trio participated in the [[Mt Fuji Foothills Hang Gliding Competition Tournament]], only for it to be attacked by the Decepticon [[Godmaster (lifeform)|Godmasters]] [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]] and [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]]. Not long thereafter, the Autobots were joined by their own Godmaster, [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]], whom Minerva and the other Juniors were eager to meet. {{storylink|Ginrai: God On of Rage!!}} They arrived to welcome him at the harbour when he came to visit them, but during the drive back to the headquarters, the team was attacked by the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, and Ginrai kidnapped [[Cancer (Masterforce)|Cancer]] for interrogation. Minerva attempted to make the boy's imprisonment bearable, appalled by Ginrai's use of handcuffs. Even when Cancer shattered a glass of juice that she attempted to offer him, cutting her with the shards, she refused to let Shūta and Cab hurt him. When Ginrai threatened Cancer with physical force, she tried to stop him, but was ordered out of the room, so she watched the ensuing interrogation on a viewscreen.

Learning what they needed from him, the Autobots released Cancer into the hands of Hydra and Buster, but Hydra immediately discovered a homing beacon on Cancer's back and attacked the Autobots in retaliation. Buster seized Minerva and placed his blaster to her head, but surprisingly, Cancer snatched her away, begging the Godmasters not to kill anyone. The surprised Decepticons were overpowered by Ginrai and retreated, with Cancer shouting back that his act of kindness was simply payback for the drink. {{storylink|A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva}}

Worrying that Ginrai would hate her after her argument with him, Minerva went to Metalhawk with her concerns, and he encouraged her to talk it out with him. Heading out to join Ginrai, Shūta and Cab at a barbecue, Minerva arrived in time to overhear Ginrai praise her honesty, and she consequently plucked up the courage to join them and apologize, setting things right once more. She was subsequently with Ginrai when he discovered the trailer for his Transtector {{storylink|Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!!}} and was part of the battle when he unleashed its power against [[King Poseidon]]. During this fight, Minerva appealed to Cancer to abandon the Decepticons and join the Autobots, but she was struck down by [[Bullhorn (Masterforce)|Bullhorn]] before her words could sink in. {{storylink|Heroism!! The Headmaster Juniors' summer break coincided with the discovery of another Autobot Godmaster, [[Lightfoot (Masterforce)|Lightfoot]], {{storylink|Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter}} and as such, they were able to accompany Ginrai, Metalhawk and [[Lander]] on their search for the next Godmaster, camping in the Rocky Mountains. While picking mushrooms, Minerva spotted a forest patrolman named [[Ranger]] talking with Bullhorn and immediately suspected he was a Decepticon, but was unable to tell the other Autobots when she returned to the camp and found Shūta and Cab fishing with him. When a storm lashed the campsite that night, the group took Ranger up on his offer of taking refuge in his cabin, where Minerva was able to tell her fellow Juniors her suspicions. She was soon proven wrong, however, when Ranger revealed a strange, glowing rock that he had discovered, which turned out to be a Transtector with which he then bonded, becoming the next Autobot Godmaster. {{storylink|An Enemy? When the [[Six Changer]] [[Sixknight]] arrived on Earth, allied himself with the Decepticons and challenged Ginrai to a duel, Minerva was among the spectators of the battle, but found herself playing a more important role when she was captured by Blood and [[Gilmer]]. The Pretender duo threatened her life in order to make Ginrai stand down, but as they argued over who gets to hold her Sixknight was enraged at their interference and forced them to let her go so that they could duel honourably. {{storylink|A Powerful Foe!! Sixknight the Wanderer}} Sixknight ultimately lost to Ginrai, but returned soon after, attempting to comprehend how he'd lost to a human. As he and Ginrai were in the middle of talking, the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors attacked a nearby city in order to draw the Autobots out, as part of a plan by Cancer to prove to his fellow Juniors that Minerva meant nothing to him. Sixknight responded to their attack with deadly force, and the horrified Minerva was forced to team up with Cancer's little Decepticon buddy [[Browning]] to blind Sixknight with a smokescreen, allowing the Decepticon Juniors to escape. {{storylink|The Autobot Warrior, Sixknight?!}}

With the summer break coming to a close, Minerva joined Shūta and Cab on a trip to Cab's home in the [[Karin Islands]], where her beauty particularly struck Cab's elderly guardian [[Donq]]. Minerva's medical talents were required to help treat a sick friend of Cab's named [[Copo]], as all the local doctors had been kidnapped by the Decepticons as part of an outlandish plan, but the Autobots rescued them and all was set right. {{storylink|Save the Little Girl! The Chōjin Warriors, the Godmasters}} Crazy Decepticon plans were still the order of the day when the Juniors returned to school to hear stories of a mysterious fortune-teller on television who predicted disasters across the planet. Minerva dismissed it all as made-up nonsense, but had to eat her words when all the predictions came true and she and the other Juniors had to protect a town from a raging flood, only for it all to turn out to have been yet another Decepticon scheme. {{storylink|Expose the Decepticons' Dark Trap!}}

Soon thereafter, Minerva, Shūta and Cab were at last let in on a secret the other Autobots had been keeping from them: the "Bomber Project", a plan to construct a power-up drone known as "[[Godbomber]]" for Ginrai to help him fight [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]], a mighty Decepticon presently approaching from space. {{storylink|Super Ginrai Gets Blown Away in the Desert!?}} Ginrai was subsequently injured by [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]] in a battle in the desert, and Minerva treated his wounds before he was admitted to a hospital. {{storylink|Will the Bomber Project Be Destroyed!?}} Ginrai was insistent on going through with the mission despite his injuries, so Minerva had Shūta and Cab spar with him a little to help him work through the pain. {{storylink|God Ginrai - Into the Sky!!}} Alas, the three Juniors and the other Autobots could do nothing but watch as Ginrai and [[Grand Maximus]] battled Overlord and BlackZarak on [[Earth]]'s [[moon (moon)|moon]], but in the end, the Autobots triumphed. {{storylink|God Ginrai - Showdown on the Surface of the Moon}} After returning to Earth, Godbomber was further modified to transport the Juniors' transtectors into battle. As Shūta and Cab raced through [[British Motors]] in robot-mode, Minerva slid down a railing. Upon arriving on the factory floor, Shūta and Cab landing in a heap, Minerva claimed no part in the competition. Shortly after, Lightfoot reported that the Decepticons were attacking a desert oil refinery. As the boys put out the fires, Minerva tended to the wounded workers. After the battle, Ginrai gave high praise to the trio for their successful handling of the situation and claimed them as a reliable part of his team. {{storylink|Overlord - Terror of the Chōkon Tornado}} Godbomber even revealed a new power, transforming into a robot that Minerva and the Juniors discovered they could combine their [[Chōkon Power]] to control. {{storylink|Destroy Godbomber!!}}

When the Autobots tracked the Decepticons down to an island in the Pacific, Minerva was injured by a blast from Overlord, but was suddenly swept up and carried to safety by a new robot named [[Clouder]], who introduced himself as the final Godmaster. {{storylink|Appearance!! The Final Godmaster}} Minerva welcomed Clouder into the Autobot ranks and gave him a tour of their headquarters, even covering for him when his apparent curiosity led him to fiddle with the base computer. She dismissed Shūta and Cab's suspicions of Clouder, but Hawk shared in the boys' doubts and trailed Clouder, proving that he was, in fact, a Decepticon spy. Unfortunately, this did little to help the Autobots, as the Decepticons soon attacked using the information Clouder had provided, while bombs he had planted in the base crippled its defences. {{storylink|Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!!}} With Hawk injured and the other Autobots occupied in battle, Minerva and the Juniors were left to defend the base alone, but ultimately, the Autobots were forced to abandon it before it was destroyed. {{storylink|Disaster! Soon after, BlackZarak was able to reach the Earth, and the conflict took a step up as cities all over the world were targeted. When Cancer was buried in a pile of rubble during an attack on his home country of China, Minerva began to dig him out. When BlackZarak, now merged with Decepticon emperor [[Devil Z]], threatened North American with his [[Devil Power]] from his staging point within the Grand Canyon, Minerva was part of a team along with Shūta, Cab and Ranger who were attacked by King Poseidon. {{storylink|Autobots! Desperate Attack!!}} The Juniors got a chance at a rematch in the Alps, where King Poseidon nearly cut Minerva in two before Metalhawk stepped in to rescue her. Ginrai arrived to defeat the combiner, but Metalhawk and the Juniors were badly wounded and forced to remain behind as Ginrai headed to the summit of the Matterhorn to face BlackZarak. {{storylink|Malevolent and Inhuman! On the surface of the Moon, [[Ginrai (human)|God Ginrai]] has been badly wounded by [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]] and [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]]. BlackZarak continues to pummel the crippled Autobot, but Overlord requests that be allowed to take over, for fear of BlackZarak being injured. The battle rages on, and Ginrai is able to dispatch Overlord with his Godcannon, only for BlackZarak to strike back, toppling Ginrai into a crater and pouncing on him in scorpion mode. Ginrai hurls his foe off of him, but his respite is short lived when Overlord appears again and separates into his component parts for a two-pronged attack. Again, the Godcannon saves his bacon when he blasts the Megajet out of the air with it, but BlackZarak then shoots Ginrai in the back, knocking the Godcannon off his body and out of his reach.

Down on Earth, the [[Autobot]]s find that a magnetic storm is cutting off communications with Ginrai. [[Lander]] attempts to defuse the tense mood in the room by joking that Ginrai doesn't realize that they're trying to contact him because they're calling him "commander", but the [[Headmaster Junior]]s don't take the joke well, and he and the [[Pretender]]s retire for a drink. [[Lightfoot (Masterforce)|Lightfoot]] and the Juniors attempt to relax with tea, and [[Cab (human)|Cab]] and [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] try relaxing with a [[Rubik's Cube]], but it only frustrates them more. At the instant the communications console starts to beep, everyone rushes over, but it is only [[Grand Maximus]] on the other end of the line, who reports that he is heading for the moon at that very moment.

Back on the moon, the injured Ginrai has managed to escape his foes for a few moments and reclaim the Godcannon, but before long, he finds himself trapped, with a Decepticon on either side. Suddenly, Ginrai evens the odds by splitting off from [[Godbomber]], who circles around behind Overlord while Ginrai draws his fire and blasts him in the back. Overlord loses his grip on his blaster and Ginrai seizes it, opening fire on BlackZarak, but the monstrous Decepticon dodges and sends Ginrai rolling across the lunar surface with an unrelenting volley of blasts. Just as BlackZarak seems poised to deliver the killing blow, a hail of laser fire rakes the moon's surface, forcing him back—Grand Maximus has arrived! Grand transforms into his giant robot mode and engages BlackZarak in hand-to-hand combat, giving Ginrai the time he needs to make contact with the Autobots on Earth. As he updates them on the situation, he looks down on the Earth, at last truly recognizing the beauty of the planet compared to the rocky wasteland of the moon, and vows to be its protector. Emotionally charged, he turns and dives into the fray, knocking BlackZarak back.

With the numbers between the two sides now even, Overlord encourages BlackZarak to pull out and head for Earth in accordance with [[Devil Z]]'s wishes, but Ginrai recombines with Godbomber and he and Grand give chase. The battle continues in space, with Ginrai blasting Overlord back down to the moon's surface as Grand Maximus and BlackZarak trade blaster fire in their ship modes. Ginrai boards Grand and delivers a massive blast of [[Chōkon Power]], sending BlackZarak tumbling down to the moon as well. There, BlackZarak finds Overlord and instructs him to return to Earth and inform Devil Z of the situation, but Overlord is indignant at being given orders, and insists that BlackZarak must accompany him to Earth. BlackZarak refuses, and Overlord only acquiesces because of his injuries. In seconds, Ginrai and Grand Maximus are upon them again, and Overlord flees while BlackZarak tackles Ginrai head on. A "Godpunch" attack from Ginrai forces BlackZarak back, and he follows it up with his "God Fire Guts" attack, wreathing himself in flaming Chōkon Power and crashing like a meteor into BlackZarak. BlackZarak's body tumbles back to the ground, having been decapitated by the sheer force of the blast... but as his disembodied head lies burning on the ground, his headless body rises unsteadily, and flees into space, heading away from the Earth! Although Ginrai is concerned that the threat of BlackZarak is not over, Grand Maximus assures him that the rest can be left in his hands. He parts ways with Ginrai and heads after BlackZarak, and Ginrai then heads back down to Earth to reunite with the other Autobots, who are busy celebrating his victory, with Lander once again in favor of a drink to do the job.

It's not the last time it happens in the series, either, but like so many other things, no explanation is ever actually offered, either in the broadcast series, or in any of the direct-to-video clip episodes. The answer to this conundrum is actually given in the ''Masterforce'' [[Transformers: Super-God Masterforce (manga)|manga]], of all places, but even then, to understand it, one must understand that BlackZarak is, in fact, the original [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] from ''[[Transformers: The Headmasters (cartoon)|The Headmasters]]''—a fact which is ''also'' not revealed in the broadcast series, but which ''was'' explained in "[[Shūta and Grand's Masterforce Super-Secrets!]]". Through a secret spy cam installed in the [[Darksyde (BW)|Predacon base]], the [[Maximal]]s watch as the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]] attempt to use a device to increase the size and power of [[energon crystal]]s. But when the experiment fails and [[Megatron (BW)/Beast Wars cartoon continuity|Megatron]] demands another crystal specimen for a retest, his troops refuse; apparently, the continuous testing has wasted most of their [[energon]] supplies, and this latest failure has convinced the other Predacons to turn on their leader. A firefight soon breaks out, which ends up detonating the remaining energon in a huge explosion that seems to destroy the Predacon base. As the video feed goes dead, the Maximals are shocked; they have just won the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]].

Heading to the Predacon base to investigate, the Maximals find it in ruins, with little more than charred debris and a few scant Predacon parts to confirm the group's demise. [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]], sensitive guy that he is, is rather pleased at the development, while [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] is more somber, enough to completely ignore Rattrap's attempts to pick an argument with him; despite defecting, he still feels some kinship with the Predacons, and laments their destruction. However, Dinobot's loss is the other Maximals' gain, as they decide to ransack the Predacon base for its [[star drive]] components in order to repair the ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'' for the trip home.

As the repairs are completed, Dinobot comes clean with [[Optimus Primal/Beast Wars cartoon continuity|Optimus Primal]] about his mood as of late; he's convinced that he'll be executed as a Predacon criminal if he returns to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], and would rather try and tame the wild world they've found themselves on. Optimus Primal, being an Optimus, tries to convince him that they'll stand up for him, but his mind is set, and he is eventually let go to wander the wilderness. Just as the Maximals are ready to take off, though, the wandering Dinobot stumbles upon the very alive and functional Predacon crew hiding in a crevasse; they had found the spy camera before the incident, and used it to trick the Maximals into thinking them dead, planning on stealing the repaired ''Axalon'' and leaving the Maximals stranded. Dinobot makes a mad dash back to the Maximal ship to warn them of the Predacons' duplicity, but gives himself away to the Predacons, who give chase in an attempt to stop him.

Fortunately, Dinobot is able to get within the Maximals' visual range before he's gunned down, and Optimus Primal and [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] head down to help him; the launch cannot be aborted, though, so he insists they take off without him or Dinobot if they're not able to get back on in time. Cheetor is able to get Dinobot to safety in the ensuing firefight, but Optimus is tagged by an errant missile from [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]], sending him plummeting. Soon afterwards, Megatron himself manages to get on board, and briefly takes out most of the other Maximals, before being subdued and ejected from the ship by [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]]. The scuffle, though, has the unforeseen consequence of jamming Megatron's tail weapon into the control console, cutting the ''Axalon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s engines and sending it on a one-way trip back to terra firma.

All seems lost, when Optimus—now fully recovered—comes in to save the day, pulling a [[Superman]] and exhausting his jetpack to slow the ship's descent enough to ease it back in its original place. Although no one is critically injured, the collateral damage has been done; the ''Axalon'' will never fly again. And just to ensure that everything is back to normal, Rattrap and Dinobot are right back to verbally tearing into each other, to the other Maximals' amusement.

*The Predacon plan involves hiding until the Maximals repair the ''Axalon'', at which point they attack and steal the ship for themselves. However, there seems to be no way for them to tell that the ship is repaired; they only arrive at the ''Axalon'' while pursuing Dinobot. So how, exactly, was Megatron going to know ''when'' the ''Axalon'' was flight-capable, without giving away the plan?
*When Dinobot is shot, Optimus Primal is in his robot mode. However, when we come back from the break and Dinobot's retaliation against the Predacons, Optimus is in his beast mode, which he changes out of less than a minute later. Weird.
*Optimus and Cheetor are both in robot mode when they leave the Axalon to rescue Dinobot, who has been in robot mode for some time. And yet somehow Optimus is affected with an energon overload first, forcing him back to beast mode. Cheetor is fine as he lies on the Axalon's lift, and then we see beast mode Optimus carrying robot mode Dinobot, who is ''still'' not suffering from energon overload.
*Cheetor only drags himself halfway onto the Axalon's lift before collapsing, but a moment later he's fully on the lift.

*It's pretty clear that the rear section of the Axalon was damaged in the original crash. Not only were the fins bent out of position, the rear is missing much of its armor, and is bent. This is quite clearly shown in the computer targeting system Tigatron uses to lock to the Predacons. From the moment the ship takes off to the end of the episode, the entire rear section, fins included, are "reconstructed" and in their proper places. However every episode that follows shows the ship as it was before. Screwy.
*Speaking of that, the Axalon takes off, flies in a horizontal direction for a bit, and then loses power and starts to crash. And yet it somehow ends up landing in exactly the same position it was before? Okay then.
*Everyone acts as if Optimus has been abandoned when he gets knocked down to the ground. There's no dialogue to indicate that the Maximals can't steer the ship. Is there some reason the ''Axalon'' can't loop back around and pick him up? Or even hover in place to allow him to fly up to it?

* Dinobot's aversion to being rescued was explained in the [[The Probe|previous episode]].
* Though the two have been at odds since the beginning of the series, this is perhaps the first episode where Rattrap and Dinobot's constant feuding moves towards good-natured bickering. Rattrap is relieved when angsting Dinobot starts issuing comebacks to his insults again and offers constructive criticism on them; at the end of the episode, Optimus and Cheetor watch them volley insults back and forth with fondness.

Meanwhile, in [[Decepticon Base]], [[Devil Z]] has some revelations of his own to impart to his minions—the space-based Decepticons have learned that [[Grand Maximus]] deduced their plans and informed the Autobots on Earth. To put a stop to the Bomber Project, [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]] are instructed to attack [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]] and destroy his trailer.

A short time later, Buster informs "Hyler", who is in reality a disguised Hydra, that he's planted two charges which aren't on the map given to Ginrai. Giga and Mega, still in Decepticon Base, tune in to watch the action unfold.

The [[Autobot]] [[Headmaster Junior]]s have some downtime, and [[Cab (human)|Cab]] is overjoyed to return to the [[Karin Islands]]. He, [[Minerva (Masterforce human)|Minerva]] and [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] are already on their way as Cab's guardian [[Donq]] tells Cab's friend [[Copo]] of the prince's impending return to the island. However, Copo is suffering from a circulatory disease, and the visiting physician, [[Dado (Masterforce)|Doctor Dado]], recommends to Donq that she be moved to the hospital on [[Viscas Island]] right away. Dado returns to his office, but then disaster strikes when he becomes a victim of the [[Decepticon]]s' latest plan—to kidnap doctors from all around the world. [[Gilmer]] bursts through the floor and seizes the doctor, departing before Donq's shocked eyes.

Cab and the other Juniors soon arrive and are greeted by Donq, who, unwilling to trouble his prince any more than is necessary, does not tell them about Gilmer, but gives them the bad news about Copo's illness. They go to visit her in the medical hut, but as Cab presents her with a gift, she collapses, and Donq is forced to reveal that Doctor Dado has been kidnapped. Recognizing Gilmer from Donq's description, Shuta contacts [[Metalhawk (Masterforce)|Metalhawk]] at [[Autobot Base]], and the four [[Godmaster (lifeform)|Godmasters]] are deployed to take care of the situation.

Meanwhile, the captured doctors are being held on [[Atlan Island]] in the South Pacific by the Decepticon [[Pretender]]s under specific orders from [[Mega]], desperate to regain their lost standing among the Decepticon ranks. Amongst their number, Dado spots the circulatory expert who needs to treat Copo, [[Rhodan|Doctor Rhodan]], but [[Dauros]] silences them when he attempts to communicate with him. The rest of the Decepticons observe the scene from afar, gathered around a viewing monitor in [[Decepticon Base|their base]], and Mega muses on the nature of her plan—to rob humans of their will to live by making them realize the fleetingness of life. This is, er, accomplished by removing doctors from the equation, apparently. Mmn.

As Copo's condition worsens, Cab and Minerva attempt to take her to Viscas Island themselves, only for their boat to be attacked by a [[Gulf]] [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacon]]. Thankfully, they are rescued by the timely arrival of the Godmasters aboard a [[Ginrai's high-speed hovercraft|hovercraft]], which speedily carries everyone to Viscas Island. As the Godmasters return to Karin Island to pick up Shūta, they discover Doctor Dado floating in the water—he has managed to escape the Decepticons, outracing Dauros and diving off a cliff into the ocean in the process, and tells the Autobots about the doctors held on Atlan Island. Shūta then escorts Dado to Viscas Island where he can tend to Copo while the Godmasters go to the rescue of Rhodan and the other doctors.

As night settles in, the Godmasters begin their attack on the island. [[Road King]] creates a distraction that draws the Decepticons out of their cave, and while [[Blood]] is occupied with him, [[Ranger]] attacks from behind, only to be met with resistance from Dauros. [[Lightfoot (Masterforce)|Lightfoot]] proceeds to tackle Gilmer directly, drawing him away from the cave and allowing [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]] to slip inside. As the battle rages outside (with the Pretenders getting thoroughly thrashed), Ginrai explains to Rhodan and the other doctors that Copo's time is running out, and that he must take Rhodan to her right away, with no time to get the other doctors to safety. Putting the health of a patient before themselves, the doctors all encourage Rhodan to go to Copo's aid right away, but as they exit the cave, they are confronted with a number of Seacons that the Pretenders have summoned.

As the beasts charge, the Godmasters leap to protect Rhodan, and unleash their most powerful super-moves. Lightfoot blasts a [[Tentakil (Masterforce)|Tentakil]] to smithereens with his Land Waterfall attack; Road King unleashes the Rotary Burst Typhoon, spinning himself and colliding with a Gulf with explosive results; Ranger reduces an [[Overbite (Masterforce)|Overbite]] to particles with a wave of his Heat Sand Attack; and Ginrai connects with his [[transtector]] in time to let loose the almighty Atomic Fire Guts, destroying a [[Lobclaw]].

The Pretenders flee, returning to their base in disgrace, where [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]] reveal that they were the ones who came up with the plan. As the brothers argue with the Pretenders, Mega silences them, disgusted at the sight of comrades fighting, and tells them that it was not a failure, merely a first step.

The Autobots, meanwhile, rush to Viscas Island with Doctor Rhodan, who successfully treats Copo, leading to a full recovery. The Godmasters head back to Japan, but the Juniors are able to stay on the island and finally enjoy their vacation.

It's summer, and at the [[International School]], gym class has become swim class. [[Cab (human)|Cab]], [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] and the rest of the boys class complete their lengths and head for the locker room, but Cab decides to head back to the pool, to peep at the girls' class through the fence in hopes of getting a look at [[Minerva (Masterforce human)|Minerva]] in a swimsuit. Shūta is trying to dissuade him when both boys are caught by the coach, much to the disgust of all the girls. Minerva berates Cab and Shūta all the way back to the base after school, but when they apologize, discussion turns to the upcoming summer break, and they decide to ask [[Metalhawk (Masterforce)|Hawk]] about taking a vacation. When they arrive at the [[Autobot Base|base]], Hawk is reviewing [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]]'s televised appeal, and permits their vacation request if they promise to keep in touch.

In America, Ginrai is visiting the [[CNM TV|television studio]] that runs the programme he made his appeal on, where he receives a large handful of mail from people responding to his appearance. One in particular catches his attention immediately—a letter from a young man named [[Lightfoot (Masterforce)|Lightfoot]] in [[Canada]], which includes a drawing of a robot!

Meanwhile, [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]], still smarting over Ginrai's upgrade into Super Ginrai, have also come to the TV studio in an attempt to pick up any leads to his whereabouts. They menace [[Sam (producer)|a producer]] to try and find out where he has gone, to no avail. Subsequently, they meet with the [[Decepticon]] [[Pretender]]s in a junkyard to arrange a search. The search bears fruit a little later, as [[Blood]] spots Ginrai—already well on his way to Canada—getting directions at [[Stand boy|a gas station]]. The other Pretenders converge on his location and chase after Ginrai through the cover of the roadside forest, intent on defeating him themselves to improve their standing in the eyes of [[Giga]] and [[Mega]].

Ginrai eventually arrives at Lightfoot's home—as it turns out, he is heir to the vast [[British Motors]] automotive engineering company. Ginrai is quite smitten with the [[Leftfoot's assistant|maid]] who serves him [[Napoleon|a drink]] as he waits, but Lightfoot himself soon arrives and Ginrai gets straight to business, presenting him with the drawing of the robot. Lightfoot explains that he has been dreaming of the robot for the last three months, and was encouraged to write to Ginrai by a friend who saw him on television. Showing Ginrai around his home, he tells him the story of how his father moved from a run-down repair shop in England to Canada, where he started making cars. The first car he made led to the success of the British Motors company—the family even still has the original model, which [[Leftfoot|Lightfoot's father]] just recently gave to him for his birthday... right before his dreams began. Ginrai gives the car a look-over, and requests that he be allowed to drive it; Lightfoot allows him, but is a bit distressed by the fast speeds and rough terrain that Ginrai subjects the car to. His suspicions growing ever more likely, Ginrai hands Lightfoot one of the pairs of [[Master-Brace]]s that he found. When Lightfoot dons them, the bracelets are pulled together, and the car fills with light as the young man is surrounded by a suit of armor! At Ginrai's instruction, he utters the command—"Transform! God On!" and becomes one with his car, transforming into the robot from his own dreams! Lightfoot is the second Autobot [[Godmaster (lifeform)|Godmaster]]!

Ginrai explains the whole situation to Lightfoot, who is a bit more interested in figuring out how to turn back into a [[human]]. Before he can, though, the three Decepticon Pretenders suddenly attack; with no combat experience, Lightfoot is helpless, and Ginrai instructs him to change back so they can escape. Fleeing in vehicle mode (nailing [[Gilmer]] right in the ball bearings along the way), Lightfoot takes Ginrai back to British Motors, where he reunites with his own Transtector and transforms to robot mode. The Pretenders attempt to target his trailer in order to prevent him from become Super Ginrai, but their scheme fails when the trailer knocks [[Dauros]] aside and merges with Ginrai. As Super Ginrai, he grapples with Gilmer and Dauros while Blood attempts to take Lightfoot hostage; the newly-born Godmaster transforms to robot mode again and struggles to hold off the Pretender, while Ginrai pursues the other two, who summon the [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacons]] to the battlefield. The water-monsters fuse into [[King Poseidon]], who is once again quickly overcome by Super Ginrai's [[Chōkon Power]] and even winds up impaling his leg on his own sword. With the Seacon combiner beaten, the Pretenders flee, and Lightfoot requests that Ginrai continue to teach him. The hunt is now well and truly on to find the remaining Godmasters!

In the [[Decepticon]] [[Decepticon Base|base]], [[Giga]] and [[Mega]] reveal a secret that they have hidden from [[Hydra (Masterforce)|Hydra]] and [[Buster (Masterforce)|Buster]]—they are not the only [[Godmaster (lifeform)|Godmasters]] on Earth. The other Godmasters, however, are incomplete beings, lacking a human component, and Giga fears that they could wind up bonded to human beings that would sympathize with the [[Autobot]]s. He and Mega enigmatically refer to the other Godmasters as their "children", and refuse to permit such a fate to befall them, so Hydra and Buster are dispatched to begin searching the world for the remaining Godmasters.

At the [[Ocean Research Institute of California]], [[Diver (Masterforce)|Diver]] is on the telephone with the [[Baney Aquarium director|director]] of [[Baney Aquarium]], who has arranged for a sick [[dolphin]] to be delivered to the institute so that Diver can take care of it. The dolphin has not yet arrived, however, and Diver soon receives a call from the trucker making the delivery—a young Japanese man named [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]]—who explains that his truck broke down along the way. He has stopped at a rental shop, where the [[Rent-a-car seller|owner]] informs him that it will take two or three days to replace his cab, but Ginrai explains that he needs it right away. Cautiously, the owner explains that he does have one cab that will do the job, but that previous owners have reported strange, vaguely supernatural phenomena while driving it. Ginrai is unfazed, and the owner offers to sell it to him; Ginrai decides to complete his delivery as a test drive to see if it's worth the purchase.

Ginrai soon arrives at the Ocean Research Institute, and busies himself washing the cab as the dolphin is unloaded. Lost in thought, he is unable to stop [[forklift laborer|a forklift]] from pranging the truck, denting its fender. Soon, he moves on to cleaning out the interior, and discovers a metal sphere in the glove box, which splits open to reveal a pair of golden bracelets. He slips the bracelets on his wrists, but, looking at his reflection in the rear view mirror, decides they don't suit him... only to discover that he is unable to remove them. As he struggles with them, Diver approaches the cab, and is shocked to see the Autobot [[insignia]] glowing on the bracelets. Diver demands to know where he got them from, and Ginrai explains; Diver requests that he take him to the rental shop. As the two talk on the drive, Ginrai reveals that he has no idea what Decepticons are, and relates the notion of trying to stand up to such powerful beings to the time that he saw an escaped buffalo raging in a city and kept his distance. When Diver explains that his bracelets will allow him to become just as powerful, however, Ginrai nearly runs over another [[driver]] in shock.

Meanwhile, Hydra and Buster's search has brought them to America, the continent where they were merged with their [[Transtector]]s. They meet with the [[Headmaster Junior]]s, who tell them about a strange rumor going around about a dented truck which fixed itself, and are able to identify the rental shop which loaned the truck out. The two Godmasters immediately head out on the truck's trail...

Ginrai and Diver continue their discussion about the bracelets and the strange phenomena, until suddenly, the truck begins to surge with energy, and begins veering across the road. The dent in the fender slowly begins to disappear, but the truck itself goes crashing off a cliff; Diver leaps free in mid-air and transforms into robot mode, but Ginrai is trapped inside the cab as it lands at the foot of the cliff with the trailer crashing on top of it. As Diver hauls the trailer off, Hydra and Buster appear in the sky overhead and transform to robot mode, intending to take the truck for themselves. Diver tries to fend off the two Godmasters while, inside the cab, the injured, bloodied Ginrai struggles to reach for the door handle. He collapses halfway, and his arms drop, allowing the two bracelets to touch—and in an explosion of light, Ginrai is instantly healed when a suit of armor materializes around his body.

The Transformers outside react in shock as the truck itself begins to heal, its crippled and buckled frame springing back into shape perfectly. But the shocks are not over yet—Ginrai bursts through the roof in a flare of energy and combines with the truck, which transforms into a battle-primed robot! Ginrai himself is suitably shocked by the experience, not to mention the realisation that the robot trying to help him is Diver, and when he learns that Buster and Hydra are Decepticons, his anger activates his [[Chōkon Power]], which he uses to send the two brothers fleeing.

Diver and Ginrai return to their human forms as the sun sets, and Ginrai explains that he left Japan because of the country's stifling atmosphere and came to America as a freelance trucker to enjoy the freedom of the open road, but now he is not sure who he is. Whatever questions Ginrai may have about his identity, though, Diver is sure of one thing—he is the first Autobot Godmaster!

But Minerva's idealism is a naive kind: petitioning to join the Autobots out of a desire to "fight evil", she quickly found that the reality of war was a lot more than she was prepared for. Already very uncomfortable with violence and now thrown into the heart of a war in which ''children'', of all beings, are so casually made a part of the conflict, Minerva is left struggling to rationalize her role as a warrior, even one on the side of good. As such, she usually refrains from entering battle herself unless circumstances absolutely demand it, instead operating as a battlefield medic and tending to the human victims of the [[Transformer]]s' battles. In the final analysis, Minerva's timidness leaves her simply treating the symptoms of the disease, rather than fighting the cause.

As an Autobot Headmaster Junior, Minerva is bonded to a [[Transtector]] from the planet [[Master (planet)|Master]], which takes the form of an emergency rescue vehicle. Using her [[Master-Brace]]s, she can summon a suit of armor that enhances her physical strength, speed and reflexes, which allows her to transform into a head for her Transtector and function as a full-size Transformer robot armed with a paralyzing "Shock Gun". Outside of combat situations, Minerva is a much more easy-going girl. Clearly raised in an overly "traditional" manner befitting an ambassador's daughter and tutored in various "feminine skills", she is a talented dancer, painter, cook and medic, and has inherited the poise, grace and beauty of her mother, making her the object of many of her male teammates' affections. A word or two of praise from Minerva is enough to bring any Autobot out in a hot flush.

When the news came that her family was moving to Japan, Minerva was especially excited at the prospect of learning traditional Japanese dance, but she could never have guessed that the plane on which they flew would be attacked by the [[Decepticon]] [[Pretender]], [[Blood]], who was searching for Mont Porte's prize-winning biologist, [[Blanieux|Professor Blanieux]]. Their jet crashed in Corsica, but Minerva and her family escaped with only minor injuries, and she was only too happy to talk to the "government investigators" who came to her in the hospital where [[Minerva's parents|her parents]] were being treated. In particular, the two young boys that accompanied the investigators, [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]] and [[Cab (human)|Cab]], were very taken with Minerva. The following day, when Professor Blanieux arrived to rendezvous with Minerva's father before he and the family headed on to Japan, the investigators, Shūta and Cab accompanied them on their private jet for fear of any further Decepticon attacks. Blood did indeed strike at the plane, and to combat him, the investigators revealed that they were, in fact, the Autobot [[Pretender]]s. Although Minerva was initially angry with Shūta and Cab for lying to her, she was impressed with their bravery when the jet's [[stewardess]] turned out to be a Decepticon [[Destroid]] and they fought and incapacitated her. Having seen the evil of the Decepticons firsthand, Minerva was only to happy to say yes when Autobot leader [[Metalhawk (Masterforce)|Metalhawk]] asked if she wanted to help the Autobots in their fight against them. At first, Hawk was unsure if she was up to the task, but Minerva obtained her parents' permission and assured Hawk that she was willing to spend her life saving the lives of others. While [[Holographic battle drone|training]] with [[Diver (Masterforce)|Diver]] in America, however, Minerva displayed her lack of confidence with her new power, but was soon forced to face up to the responsibilities it carried when the Decepticons' Headmaster Juniors attacked a nearby city. Unable to summon the courage to join Shūta and Cab in the fight, Minerva was only galvanized into action when she saw a [[little girl (Masterforce)|young girl]] become buried under rubble on news coverage of the battle. Racing into action without a second thought, Minerva followed the girl's [[Pis|dog]] to her side and rescued her, but tragedy then struck when [[Wilder (Masterforce)|Wilder]] killed the poor animal. On a mission to Kenya, Minerva's choice of ensemble definitely made the trip for Shūta and Cab, but it also left her quite open for a deadly scorpion sting. Thankfully, this was prevented by a well-timed shot from [[Ricky]]. While the other Autobots battled the Decepticons in the area, Minerva put her medical talents to use treating an injured fawn for which Ricky was caring. {{storylink|Panic! Learning what they needed from him, the Autobots released Cancer into the hands of Hydra and Buster, but Hydra immediately discovered a homing beacon on Cancer's back and attacked the Autobots in retaliation. Buster seized Minerva and placed his blaster to her head, but surprisingly, Cancer snatched her away, begging the Godmasters not to kill anyone. The surprised Decepticons were overpowered by Ginrai and retreated, with Cancer shouting back that his act of kindness was simply payback for the drink. {{storylink|A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva}}

Worrying that Ginrai would hate her after her argument with him, Minerva went to Metalhawk with her concerns, and he encouraged her to talk it out with him. Heading out to join Ginrai, Shūta and Cab at a barbecue, Minerva arrived in time to overhear Ginrai praise her honesty, and she consequently plucked up the courage to join them and apologize, setting things right once more. She was subsequently with Ginrai when he discovered the trailer for his Transtector {{storylink|Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!!}} and was part of the battle when he unleashed its power against [[King Poseidon]]. The Headmaster Juniors' summer break coincided with the discovery of another Autobot Godmaster, [[Lightfoot (Masterforce)|Lightfoot]], {{storylink|Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter}} and as such, they were able to accompany Ginrai, Metalhawk and [[Lander]] on their search for the next Godmaster, camping in the Rocky Mountains. While picking mushrooms, Minerva spotted a forest patrolman named [[Ranger]] talking with Bullhorn and immediately suspected he was a Decepticon, but was unable to tell the other Autobots when she returned to the camp and found Shūta and Cab fishing with him. When a storm lashed the campsite that night, the group took Ranger up on his offer of taking refuge in his cabin, where Minerva was able to tell her fellow Juniors her suspicions. She was soon proven wrong, however, when Ranger revealed a strange, glowing rock that he had discovered, which turned out to be a Transtector with which he then bonded, becoming the next Autobot Godmaster. {{storylink|An Enemy? When the [[Six Changer]] [[Sixknight]] arrived on Earth, allied himself with the Decepticons and challenged Ginrai to a duel, Minerva was among the spectators of the battle, but found herself playing a more important role when she was captured by Blood and [[Gilmer]]. The Pretender duo threatened her life in order to make Ginrai stand down, but as they argued over who gets to hold her Sixknight was enraged at their interference and forced them to let her go so that they could duel honourably. {{storylink|A Powerful Foe!! Sixknight the Wanderer}} Sixknight ultimately lost to Ginrai, but returned soon after, attempting to comprehend how he'd lost to a human. As he and Ginrai were in the middle of talking, the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors attacked a nearby city in order to draw the Autobots out, as part of a plan by Cancer to prove to his fellow Juniors that Minerva meant nothing to him. With the summer break coming to a close, Minerva joined Shūta and Cab on a trip to Cab's home in the [[Karin Islands]], where her beauty particularly struck Cab's elderly guardian [[Donq]]. Minerva's medical talents were required to help treat a sick friend of Cab's named [[Copo]], as all the local doctors had been kidnapped by the Decepticons as part of an outlandish plan, but the Autobots rescued them and all was set right. {{storylink|Save the Little Girl! The Chōjin Warriors, the Godmasters}} Crazy Decepticon plans were still the order of the day when the Juniors returned to school to hear stories of a mysterious fortune-teller on television who predicted disasters across the planet. Minerva dismissed it all as made-up nonsense, but had to eat her words when all the predictions came true and she and the other Juniors had to protect a town from a raging flood, only for it all to turn out to have been yet another Decepticon scheme. {{storylink|Expose the Decepticons' Dark Trap!}}

When the Autobots tracked the Decepticons down to an island in the Pacific, Minerva was injured by a blast from Overlord, but was suddenly swept up and carried to safety by a new robot named [[Clouder]], who introduced himself as the final Godmaster. {{storylink|Appearance!! The Final Godmaster}} Minerva welcomed Clouder into the Autobot ranks and gave him a tour of their headquarters, even covering for him when his apparent curiosity led him to fiddle with the base computer. She dismissed Shūta and Cab's suspicions of Clouder, but Hawk shared in the boys' doubts and trailed Clouder, proving that he was, in fact, a Decepticon spy. Unfortunately, this did little to help the Autobots, as the Decepticons soon attacked using the information Clouder had provided, while bombs he had planted in the base crippled its defences. {{storylink|Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!!}} With Hawk injured and the other Autobots occupied in battle, Minerva and the Juniors were left to defend the base alone, but ultimately, the Autobots were forced to abandon it before it was destroyed. {{storylink|Disaster! Soon after, BlackZarak was able to reach the Earth, and the conflict took a step up as cities all over the world were targeted. When Cancer was buried in a pile of rubble during an attack on his home country of China, Minerva began to dig him out. When BlackZarak, now merged with Decepticon emperor [[Devil Z]], threatened North American with his [[Devil Power]] from his staging point within the Grand Canyon, Minerva was part of a team along with Shūta, Cab and Ranger who were attacked by King Poseidon. {{storylink|Autobots! Desperate Attack!!}} The Juniors got a chance at a rematch in the Alps, where King Poseidon nearly cut Minerva in two before Metalhawk stepped in to rescue her. Ginrai arrived to defeat the combiner, but Metalhawk and the Juniors were badly wounded and forced to remain behind as Ginrai headed to the summit of the Matterhorn to face BlackZarak. {{storylink|Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z}} Minerva used the time to take care of Metalhawk's injuries, but soon, Ginrai and BlackZarak's fight carried them down the mountain, where BlackZarak transformed into an even more powerful serpent mode. Minerva, Shūta and Cab could feel the burning energy of Ginrai, and all three Juniors found themselves transported into his chest cockpit, where their energies helped him destroy BlackZarak. His host destroyed, Devil Z raged impotently until Ginrai and the Juniors united every last drop of their power in the Final Fire Guts attack, which completely destroyed the arch-villain. In the aftermath of the battle, the Autobots were all immediately enveloped in a glow and transformed from robots back into their human forms. Minerva was the first to realize that their Masterbraces had disappeared, and moments later, the truth of the situation was revealed: the death of Devil Z had caused their bond to their Transtectors to be severed. Their Transtectors, however, all lived on, evolved into true super-robot lifeforms through the power of their bond. In [[Kenya]], [[Africa]], a wildlife preservation ranger named [[Ricky]] is on patrol on the savanna when he discovers a stampede of wild animals, heading straight for a nearby village. Although he races ahead of the animals in his land rover and radios ahead for an evacuation, the village itself is trampled to the ground. News of the event—and several others like it—reaches Japan, and the [[Headmaster Junior]]s discuss it in [[Cab (human)|Cab]]'s [[Cab's treehouse|treehouse]] over a meal of newly delivered [[Karin Islands|Karin Island]] coconuts. Cab is totally oblivious to the event, however, given his preference for a technology-free—and hence TV-free—home, much to [[Shūta Gō|Shūta]]'s exasperation. Just then, [[Metalhawk (Masterforce)|Metalhawk]] summons the Juniors back to the [[Autobot Base|base]], having received information from [[Phoenix (Masterforce)|Phoenix]] that the [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacons]] were spotted in Kenya, leading him to believe that the [[Decepticon]]s are responsible for the stampedes.

In [[Decepticon Base]], [[Blood]] communicates with [[Gilmer]] and [[Dauros]] over a viewscreen, telling them that the [[Autobot]]s are on their way to their location. He informs them that he will join them soon, and that they are to start another stampede in the meantime; Dauros still isn't taking too kindly to the fact that Blood is giving him orders, but Blood simply cuts the communication off before he can finish objecting. The Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, spoiling for a fight with their Autobot counterparts, request that they be allowed to accompany Blood, but he suggests that they put themselves to work training to defeat them, rather than simply talking big. After a tense moment, the Juniors part to allow Blood to walk by them and leave, but the three boys can't resist a parting jab at the small-scale nature of Blood's animal scheme, causing the [[Pretender]] to fly into a rage and hurl rocks and rubble at them. After backhanding all three of them, nearly knocking them into the moat of lava surrounding the altar and its glowing orb, he explains that the plan is one with far-reaching consequences—they plan to destabilize the balance of nature, allowing the Decepticons to take power. As he raises his arms at the end of his speech, the orb erupts with energy.

In Kenya, the Autobot Headmaster Juniors unload their [[Transtector]]s from the private plane that brought them to the country, although Shūta and Cab are somewhat more occupied with the task of ogling the barely-there outfit that [[Minerva (Masterforce human)|Minerva]] has chosen to wear for the hotter climate. As they drive across the savanna, Cab and Shūta sing a song drawing attention to her leggy ensemble, but soon, they meet up with the Pretenders and Mister Ricky. The meeting gets off to a tense start when Ricky immediately draws his rifle and appears to shoot at Minerva; Shūta kicks the gun away and seizes the man, but it turns out Ricky was dispatching a scorpion that was poised to sting the girl. Ricky takes the Juniors back to his village, where they meet an injured fawn. Ricky explains that he had to shoot the fawn's parents to prevent them from stampeding through an elementary school, and the fawn was trampled when the herd turned away. Minerva carries the fawn to her Transtector and places it in the medical equipment to heal.

The Pretenders, meanwhile, are exploring the savanna, and soon discover detonators that have been used to cause explosions designed to send animals stampeding. A short time later, Lander and Phoenix come under attack by [[Kraken]]s. Phoenix quickly dispatches one, but Lander has to dodge another, announcing he hates the ones that fly. After destroying an Overbite, he contacts Metalhawk, only to find the other two Pretenders have similarly come under attack. Once the Seacons have been dealt with, the Decepticon Pretenders make their entrance, backed up by a virtual armada of Krakens. While the Autobots are occupied with the Seacons, the Decepticons disappear (much to the displeasure of the battle-hungry Dauros) and Blood incites a herd of [[elephant]]s into another stampede, heading right for Mister Ricky's village.

Detecting the approaching animals, Metalhawk radios the Headmaster Juniors as he and the other Pretenders race to see what can be done—only to find that they can't even deal with the Decepticons, since they are riding the elephants, putting them in danger should the Autobots open fire. Still guilty over having taken the lives of the deer, Mister Ricky makes a virtually suicidal attempt to stop the elephants, but is saved by Shūta and Cab, who link up in a "scrum" formation to block the pachyderms' path, calming the creatures down. With their plan foiled, the badly outnumbered Decepticons beat retreat.

A little later, as the sun sets over the savanna, the now-healed fawn is released back into the wild as the Autobots and Ricky watch.

Although not stated in dialogue, it was fairly obvious in that episode that he was channelling the energy of [[Devil Z]]; less so in this episode, as Devil Z is not present for the act, but was shown to surge with energy in response to Blood in an earlier scene, presumably giving him the energy which he goes on to use on the elephants. This has led to a not-entirely-uncommon belief that Blood is doing these things with magical energy of his own, which doesn't seem to be the correct interpretation of the action.
