The Decepticons attack a nuclear power plant in an attempt to secure fuel. Meanwhile, Bumblebee makes contact with some humans.

Synopsis
In an effort to secure fuel sources and raw materials, the Decepticons attack a half-completed nuclear power plant. They walk off with stripped machine parts, leaving stunned humans in their wake.

Meanwhile, an injured Bumblebee has been taken to the garage of Sparkplug Witwicky by his son, Buster. After much pleading, Buster convinces his dad to fix the car, even though it's the middle of the night. Once repaired, Bumblebee transforms in front of the startled humans and enlists Buster's help to find fuel for the Autobots. As they drive back to the Ark, Bumblebee explains the war between the Transformers. Buster runs into his friends Jesse and O, and explains that his car is from another planet (who knew?). They speculate with Bumblebee on the recent attack on the nuclear power plant, while Ravage, disguised as a cassette in O's boom box, listens in on their conversation.

At the Ark, the Autobots are debating about whether they should just take the energy they need or offer humans Cybertronian technology in exchange. A distress signal from Bumblebee inspires Optimus Prime to lead an Autobot group to the Witwicky garage. Sparkplug agrees to help the Autobots convert human fuel sources into a form Transformers can use. However, the introductions between Prime and the humans are barely finished when the Decepticons attack.

The Autobots appear to gain the upper hand as a battle rages in Sparkplug's scrapyard, but Megatron arrives, makes short work of Bumblebee, and nabs Sparkplug. Optimus Prime forces the Decepticon leader to release the human. As he and Megatron throw car parts at each other, Starscream grabs Sparkplug and takes off. Their objective obtained, the rest of the 'Cons retreat. Buster begs the Autobots to follow and rescue his father, but the fuel-depleted bots fall to their knees, unable to even help themselves.
Errors
* The portion of Harrison Nuclear Plant which Laserbeak attacks looks a lot like a steel mill, but not at all like a nuke plant.
* The narrative describes Buzzsaw "slashing" open a concrete wall, but the art shows him just flying straight through it.
* Starscream and Thundercracker are missing their wings as they transform at the end of the attack.
* Soundwave is colored blue with white limbs as he rips pieces of the plant loose.
* Bumblebee has yet another design, a strange alien face that looks more like a Cyberjet than his toy.
* How does Ravage know that the Autobots have "established contact" with Buster? At most, he might have seen Buster drive off in Bumblebee.
* As the Autobots debate strategy, Windcharger has a strange made-up face atop his usual character model. Optimus appears to have goggles instead of standard optics.
* Jazz is colored like Hound in the next panel.
* As the Autobots transform, Prowl and Sunstreaker switch places for one panel.
* Megatron orders all five of his fliers into the air, while standing around and watching them go. So how does he get to the subsequent battle himself?
* As the Decepticons attack, Thundercracker and Skywarp's cockpit cowlings are colored entirely orange.
* As the junkyard battle starts, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker's car modes are switched. When they transform, they share the same body model (Sideswipe's), although Sideswipe is sporting the "jet pack" seen on Sunstreaker's toy as he flies off. (This may be due to the uncertainty as to which toy represented which character, detailed here.) Both characters use the same character model throughout the issue.
* Jesse is spelled "Jessie" in this issue.
* Despite being left behind at the base, Ratchet still appears at Sparkplug's garage in one panel.
* Starscream's early, all-blue color scheme continues to show up at times, such as when he and Skywarp transform and land during the junkyard battle. The panel is copied (traced?) from the Harrison Nuclear Power Plant battle, and consequentially both Seekers are missing their wings when they land.
* The lower half of Prime's right leg is missing as he throws the engine block at Megatron.
* Next-to-last panel: Jazz is colored like Hound again.
Items of note
* Cameos: various nuclear plant workers, citizens and police.
* Advertised as part 2 in a 4-issue limited series.
* Sparkplug states that he's "a mechanic, not a doctor", an homage to Star Treks Doctor McCoy.
* During the entire battle at the Witwicky's house, Optimus Prime's trailer sits parked, frequently in view. Prime had yet to learn how to make it conveniently disappear.
* The Decepticons' robot modes are consistently referred to as "Decepticon modes" by the narrator.
* Megatron appears in the cover corner box for both this issue and issue #4, the only times in the U.S. run that a Decepticon was featured (although issue #80 featured a Decepticon sigil). 'Cons would get a little more love from the UK corner boxes.
* This issue is stuffed with bio-related character moments.
:*Starscream suggests that Buzzsaw should be used to spy on the power plant.
::*Megatron recognizes that Starscream is trying to undermine his leadership and sends Ravage instead.
:*Ravage likes being off on his own.
:*Ravage hides in the shadows. Nobody ever sees him coming.
:*Starscream daydreams about leading the Decepticons someday.
:*Thundercracker uses his signature "sonic booms".
:*Starscream drops "cluster bombs".
:*Skywarp uses his "machine guns".
:*Laserbeak uses his "laser cannons".
:*Frenzy interrupts the humans radio communications by emitting high-frequency radio waves. (This doesn't exactly match bio, but it's close.)
:*Megatron communicates to the Decepticons through Soundwave.
:*Rumble causes tremors (by grinding drums inside his body).
:*Ironhide doesn't want to debate. Instead, he demands action.
:*Mirage wonders if he is fighting on the wrong side, would rather be enjoying the good life, etc. He tries to convince Ravage that they have no reason to fight but Ravage ignores him.
:*Engineers Huffer and Wheeljack have constructed a road leading out of the Ark.
:*Sunstreaker brags about his "electron pulse gun".
:*Sideswipe uses his "rocket backpack".
::*This is a "rash action" since the Autobots are low on fuel.
:*Sunstreaker calls Sideswipe his "brother".
:*Sideswipe uses a "flare" to blind Thundercracker.
:*Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are eager to finish off Decepticons.
::*But Sunstreaker wants to make sure the Decepticons can see him first.
:*Optimus Prime swears to protect the humans.
:*Prowl's "logic-center" helps him compute trajectories.
:*Mirage is unable to get off a shot with his "electro-disrupter".
:*Brawn is described as powerful.
:*Megatron reveals that his ultimate goal is to invade Cybertron.

:*Sideswipe uses a "flare" to blind Thundercracker.
A group of sentient warring robots crash-lands on Earth four million years ago. When they awake in the present day, their battle begins anew.

Synopsis
On the Saturn-sized mechanical world of Cybertron, life has evolved not through carbon bonding, but via "naturally-occurring gears, levers, and pulleys". The resultant sentient robots, the Autobots, live in peace for many eons, until some of their number fall victim to a lust for power. Rallying behind the banner of the powerful Megatron, these "Decepticons" rebuild their bodies, allowing them to change at will between a humanoid form and the form of various war machines. The Decepticons unleash a furious war on the Autobots, intending to conquer the planet and rebuild it as a cosmic dreadnought.

Faced with annihilation, the Autobots turn to a noble leader from their own ranks: Optimus Prime. Under his leadership, the Autobots, also now gifted with the ability to "transform", rally and counterattack. And thus, an all-consuming war rages across the planet for a thousand years, while the planet itself—dislodged from its orbit by the titanic battles—spins out of control through the cosmos.

Eventually Cybertron enters another solar system and is faced with destruction as it approaches an asteroid belt. Aboard a huge spacecraft dubbed the Ark, Optimus Prime leads a team of Autobots on a mission to clear a path through the asteroids. After the mission is completed, the Decepticons attack the weakened Autobot warriors. Facing inevitable defeat, Optimus Prime sends the Ark on a suicide course into a supposedly lifeless planet. The crash renders all the combatants inert.

Four million years later, a volcanic eruption reactivates the Ark's dormant computer, which finds the planet now teaming with mechanical "life". It reactivates the ship's passengers, rebuilding them to resemble the planet's natives. Damaged, the computer does not recognize friend from foe, and thus both factions are restored to life. After checking themselves over, the Decepticons flee for other parts, leaving the Autobots to make their home in the crashed Ark. Observing the planet, Optimus notes that they must work to save the planet from the Decepticons, whom they've accidentally unleashed upon it.

Optimus Prime sends a team of five, under the command of Prowl, to scout out the new world and make contact with the natives. En route, they are sighted by Decepticon spy Laserbeak. The Autobots mistake a drive-in movie theater for some kind of religious ritual; Bumblebee over-enthusiastically nudges a "native", violently jostling its teenage occupants Buster, Jesse and "O". As Buster and the others climb out to see what happened, the Decepticons attack, intent on keeping their foes from establishing an alliance with the planet's natives. The Autobots reluctantly transform and defend themselves, turning the drive-in into a battlefield. During the battle, Prowl realizes that the automobiles are not alive at all, but the small, pink creatures fleeing from them are; the Autobots retreat to draw the Decepticons' fire away from the apparently defenseless fleshlings.

During the battle, Buster hears the damaged Bumblebee cry out in pain, and ends up "driving" him away from the battlefield. That night, his father "Sparkplug" finds him tinkering with the yellow Volkswagen Beetle in his garage. He's delighted that his son is finally showing some interest in mechanics, but not so amused when the car cries out that it needs help, because it's dying...

Errors
Hoo-boy.
* It's said in this issue that the war between the Transformers <i>knocked Cybertron out of its orbit</i>, which sounds...very improbable because of the sheer magnitude of force required for something like that to happen; Cybertron would have likely been completely obliterated before it would've been knocked out of its orbit.
* In his very first appearance, parts of Soundwave's backpack, arms and legs are colored red.
* As he and Optimus Prime report to the Autobot Elders, Jazz is colored yellow and blue, and has two shoulder launchers instead of one. He's also extremely toy-based, right down to have the toy's conjoined uni-feet, and complete with Earthen car parts!
* Numerous generics show up aboard the Ark. By story continuity, it should only have the 18 crew members shown here, plus the future Dinobots (whose characters presumably didn't exist yet in real-life terms).
* Page 7:
** As the Decepticons first strike the Ark, Optimus Prime is colored almost entirely red.
** A blue-chested, red-legged Optimus Prime is among the invading Decepticons! In the same panel, Optimus himself is colored entirely red and is missing his chest windows.
** None of the invading Decepticons resemble the ten Decepticons later shown to comprise Megatron's crew.
* Page 8: Prowl is missing his door/wings, though one could retcon this as being his "Cybertronian" body.
* Page 10: "The drone swiftly plots its return to the Ark"—it's not clear from context if "it" is the jet scanned by the probe, or the probe itself. Neither makes a lot of sense.
* Page 12: The robots undergoing repair don't really correspond to any Transformer known to be present.
* Nobody thought to attack the other faction instead of standing around yakking? (Granted, some of the Autobots do open fire as the Decepticons transform to escape.)
* Soundwave converts to his tape player form and flies off with the jets! Or starts to, at least—he's not shown in the next panel as the Decepticons flee the volcano.
* In the giant two-page Autobot spread:
** Sideswipe seems to have a made-up or at least off-model head.
** Wheeljack's "ears" are kind of folded up against his head.
** Bluestreak is missing his door/wings and shoulder rockets.
** Gears is a strange alternate model bearing almost no resemblance to his toy or later design.
** Hound, Wheeljack, and Sideswipe are all missing their shoulder launchers.
** Trailbreaker is missing his force field projector.

* Page 16:
** Gears seems to have an entirely new, entirely different model here.
** Bluestreak is colored like Prowl.
** Bumblebee suddenly has the toy-based "backing plate" behind his head, whereas before he didn't.
** Not all of the silhouettes correspond to actual characters.
** Sunstreaker's "ears" are misshapen.
* Page 17: Sparkplug's "okay" is missing a period at the end.
* Page 19: More Deception generics visible on the cliff.
* Page 22: Starscream's entire cockpit cowling is colored as though it were a canopy.
* When Ravage confronts him, Hound has two shoulder launchers.
* Soundwave is colored silver-blue as he attacks Prowl and Cliffjumper. His gun is missing its narrow tip.
* Cliffjumper's arms are colored white as Prowl orders the retreat.

Notes
* Cameos: Aunty, an Autobot Elder who may or may not be Tomaandi.
* Advertised as part #1 in a 4-issue limited series.
* Printed on high-quality Mando paper.
* The artwork uses early character designs for many characters, some of them heavily toy-based (Ironhide, Ratchet, Brawn, Gears), others based on early models that would later be changed (Megatron, Starscream's color scheme), and still others completely random (Gears again).
* The "revival drones" that reactivate the Ark's crew are based on Optimus Prime's Combat Deck.
* Though many generics appear in the pre-Earth battle aboard the Ark and its aftermath, the art might be seen as providing an "out": On page 12, what looks to be a huge pile of unrepaired Transformers can be seen between behind Optimus and Megatron as they re-awaken.
* On May 22, the first Usenet post about Transformers is posted by Ted Nolan to net.comics, regarding this issue. Capsule review? "Worst comic of the year."
* The cover price is 75 cents, which would be $1.50 when adjusted for inflation to 2007 dollars. In November, 2007, IDW Publishing's Transformers comics currently cost $3.99.
* The cover corner box, a staple of Marvel's covers from the 1970s through the mid-1990s, features a character model of Optimus Prime. A new, more dramatic pose would debut with the first ongoing issue (issue #5).
* Over the course of the series, some of this issue's early details would be retconned away or simply ignored. Among them are the notion of a Saturn-sized Cybertron, the "naturally evolving" origin of the Transformers, and the toy-based appearance of several characters, such as Ratchet, Ironhide, Bumblebee and Brawn.
Generics
This issue features a broad range of generic Transformers, from peace-loving Autobots to a Decepticon raiding party. As the brand was in its infancy at this stage, character models were not yet fixed and coloring tended to veer towards the random, so some of these generics may have been intended to represent actual characters. Whether they do so is probably best left up to you.

Big Red
Image:Generic autobots marvel 1.jpg|The first glimpse of the Transformers. The Autobot on the far right may represent a pre-war Optimus Prime (Orion Pax/Optronix?) while the others share design elements (if not colors) with the 1984 Autobot cars.
Image:Generics marvel 1.jpg|Since he is called out in the caption box, it is probably fair to assume that the robot armed with the ion blaster represents Optimus Prime, albeit miscolored. That may be Sideswipe to his right, apparently armed with a fusion cannon.
Image:Generic decepticons marvel 1.jpg|In one of the more famous mistakes from this issue, a robot resembling a miscolored Optimus Prime leads the Decepticon raid on the Ark.
Plasma cannons are weapons which fire bursts of plasma at opponents.

Fiction
Generation 1
Quake's primary weapon in tank mode is his turret-mounted plasma cannon with a range of 40 miles. His allies would be more impressed with it, if he wasn't just as likely to blow them up as a platoon of Autobots. Longtooth's inner robot is armed with a hand-held plasma cannon.

Beast Wars
The Axalon was equipped with a plasma cannon. When it became apparent that the ship was falling into an unnamed planet's atmosphere, Optimus Primal ordered that the plasma cannon be fired on the fleeing Darksyde. The blast successfully crippled the Predacon vessel. Beast Wars (Part 1)

Movie continuity
Plasma cannons are employed by both the Autobots and the Decepticons. Ghosts of Yesterday

Upon arriving on Earth, Starscream used his plasma cannon to destroy an F-22 Raptor that he had just scanned. Movie Prequel issue 4

Bumblebee's primary weapon was a plasma cannon, which he used to great effect against Brawl...as well as intimidating his former Sector Seven oppressors. Transformers (2007)

War for Cybertron
The Plasma Cannon releases bolts that can be charged by holding down the fire button. Bolts charge up to three levels of power, but don't plan on running around with a fully-charged cannon unless you want to start taking damage. The Plasma Cannon is best for big, slow-moving targets (like a hovering Soldier or Trypticon).<br>

:The Bumblebee AllSpark Blaster is one of several Movie Roleplay toys. The toy consists of a a blaster attached to Bumblebee's (hollow) hand which a child can slip their own hand inside like a glove and wield. Pulling the trigger causes the toy to emit transformation sounds, allowing the user to transform the toy weapon from laser blaster mode to plasma cannon mode, by pulling the handle on the back. Laser blaster mode features laser pulse sounds and a "laser flare beam" (lights), while the plasma cannon mode has "plasma pulse lights" and explosion sounds.
*Bumblebee Plasma Cannon (2009)
: The Plasma Cannon is a stylized version of Bumblebee's fist that converts to a plasma cannon roleplay toy when the barrel is slid forward or the trigger is pulled. When fired, a ring of red lights around the barrel flashes (totally awesome). If the trigger is only pulled half-way, a "charging" sound is made. There is also an Autobot sigil on the side that, when pressed, causes sound effects to be heard. These include conversion noises, a revving engine, and clips from Stan Bush's "The Touch" (also awesome, but only in the "Try Me" setting, which is not quite as awesome).
The fusion cannon is Megatron's ultimate weapon. It is attached to his right arm and is devastatingly powerful, as demonstrated by its sudden removal of Ironhide's head. (It's at least as powerful as Fortress Maximus's hands, then.) It strikes fear into the sparks of both the Autobots and the Decepticons, though its actual destructive capacity seems strangely uneven.

Fiction
Generation 1
Marvel Comics continuity
noteukonly

In order to try to stop an out-of-control Auntie, Megatron began to charge up his fusion cannon by linking up cross-dimensionally from a black hole. Windcharger and Ravage stopped Auntie before the blast was needed, but Megatron wanted to use it on something anyway. Before he got a chance to fire off the accumulated power, Windcharger launched him into the sky. Raiders of the Last Ark

While on a hunt for Optimus Prime, the Predacons betrayed Megatron. Divebomb stole Megatron's fusion cannon and the Predacons left Megatron to fight Optimus Prime with only his Equaliser. Megatron opened a space bridge which pulled both him and Prime to Cybertron where Megatron got a new fusion cannon. The Harder They Die! It is unknown what Divebomb did with the original.

Generation 2
As part of an agreement with Cobra, Megatron's body was rebuilt to resemble a human tank, with his fusion cannon being replaced with a magnetic rail gun.

Generation 1 cartoon
Megatron could remove his cannon from his main body. One time, Brawn stole it from him and used it against him. Megatron was not amused. Fire on the Mountain

Fusion cannons are also oddly useful when you just wanna kick your lieutenant for shooting you in the back but don't want to have to walk over to him...yeah, we don't question that. More than Meets the Eye, Part 3 Starscream's Brigade

An attempted coup from Devastator is another matter. The shots kept bouncing off him, and Megatron had to resort to a 5-way fistfight (Starscream, Astrotrain, and Blitzwing were fighting for leadership too) as an alternative. Triple Takeover

IDW comics continuity
The fusion cannon was a gift from Starscream. Megatron Origin issue 4 It's ironic how Megatron decided to pay him back a few hundred thousand years later by blowing a huge hole in his torso. Infiltration issue 6

War for Cybertron
Megatron's precious fires explosive charges into the faces of your enemies. And, oddly enough, it can be used by Optimus.

*Rate of Fire: 4

Beast Wars cartoon
Megatron loved his fusion cannon so much, he had another fusion cannon installed on the Nemesis. The blast radius from the weapon is massive. Most kickass. It requires a power up time to fire again. Less kickass. Nemesis Part 2

Although not Megatron's, according to Beast Wars, the Ark's cannon was also a fusion cannon. The Agenda (Part III)

Beast Machines
Megatron's personal chariot, Mechatron, comes equipped with a fusion cannon to nullify any accursed Maximal that comes across.

Live-action continuity
Megatron's fusion cannon is one of the most powerful weapons known to Transformers. Drawing energy from an unknown interdimensional source, the fusion cannon fires gamma irradiated plasma at a target.

Megatron's cannon is presumably telescopic, as he keeps it stored in his left arm when not in use. Its powerful blast is enough to knock Optimus Prime back three city blocks and requires Megatron to use both arms to steady the aim. Because Megatron is always concerned about collateral damage. That, or making sure he hits. Transformers (2007)

After his resurrection, Megatron still possessed his fusion cannon, but in a more compact form, from which he could now access with his Death-lock pincer, which featured an attached sword. A point blank shot can still send Optimus Prime flying back several yards. Later, after impaling Optimus with the sword, Megatron finished off the job by firing the fusion cannon right through Optimus.

Following his resurrection, Optimus later turned the fusion cannon against Megatron during the final battle in Egypt...by blowing off half of his face, then severing it and part of Megatron's arm off with his own Energon sword. Revenge of the Fallen (film)

It is also mentioned on Ironhide's toy packaging that he also has a fusion cannon; presumably it is the blue glowing laser weapon on his left arm, and it is obviously much smaller than Megatron's.

Animated cartoon
Megatron's iconic cannon served admirably as a cutting torch when Megatron sought to gain access to the Autobots' ship. Transform and Roll Out After Megatron's revival his newly rebuilt fusion cannon proved even more effective against the Autobot ship, knocking it clean out of the sky in under a minute with some help from Lugnut and Blitzwing. It also has a lens... sometimes. Megatron Rising - Part 2 It was instrumental in repeatedly killing the newly-immortal Starscream, Mission Accomplished and used in the capture of Bulkhead. A Bridge Too Close, Part I

Eventually, it (as well as his swords; this was not seen, but his "weapons", plural, were referred to) was removed when he was captured by Omega Supreme's internal defenses. Optimus Prime discovered, painfully, that Megatron was not as weak without it as Optimus had hoped. TransWarped

Notably Megatron, despite always hitting Starscream, rarely manages to aim correctly when facing the Autobots. The writers were likely reluctant to have half the cast atomized in the space of five seconds, but to be fair, Starscream was at point blank range for nearly every shot.

Megatron's fusion cannon is eventually destroyed by the hand of Optimus Prime with Ultra Magnus's Magnus Hammer. Endgame, Part II

Notes
* The deep percussive note at the beginning of the iconic fusion cannon sound effect (used throughout G1 and Animated) is an old "stock" sound used frequently in American animation, most notably within Hanna-Barbera's Scooby Doo where it was used to signify cast members or objects falling on the ground, running into walls, etc.
The ion blaster is a kind of laser rifle and the primary weapon of several Optimus Primes. Only used by the leader of the Autobots when all attempts at peace have failed, the ion blaster ensures that freedom is the right of all sentient beings, and strikes fear in the sparks of the Decepticons who are foolish enough to challenge him.

Except Megatron. Only Primus knows how many times Optimus has shot Megatron and failed to kill him. Starscream knows that frustration all too well.

Fiction
The Transformers cartoon
Optimus Prime's ion blaster was stolen from him a few times. The first was when the Decepticons tried to take over New York City, when he was disassembled by Hook. The Constructicons then placed the arm and ion blaster atop the command post of the newly dubbed New Cybertron. As part of the building's weapons systems, Megatron used the blaster to begin firing on the Autobots. However, when Megatron and Soundwave were removed from the command post, Optimus Prime was able to regain control of the weapon and hit Devastator with it, sending him to the hard pavement below. City of Steel

Later, the human-built ninjabot Nightbird stole the ion blaster when she tried to steal the World Energy Chip, but Optimus Prime recovered it rather quickly. Enter the Nightbird
While in vehicle mode, Optimus Prime will keep his ion blaster in his cab. When he transforms, the Ion blaster is then ejected, which he then grabs.

Notes
*In the original toy and the original cartoon, Prime's weapon was referred to as a laser rifle, but many newer toys have called it an ion blaster.

*One notable aspect of Optimus Prime's Generation 1 and Generation 2 toys is that the figure can only hold it by the ammo casing, as the weapon handle is unable to fit in Prime's hand,. Also, the gun's rifle butt is too large for Prime to hold it straight, so the gun must be turned at a slight angle. Strangely, this has never been altered in reissuings.

*The Japanese-exclusive Robot Masters toy packaging calls this weapon the Convoy Gun. Wow, really original.

* In the 2007 movie, the Ion Blaster is seen only once being used against Megatron. ONCE.

* It's used more often in the film Revenge of the Fallen, on one occasion by Prime SHOOTING A HELPLESS ENEMY IN THE HEAD.
:The null-ray is a weapon from the multiple continuity families

One of the signature weapons of Starscream and the Seekers, the null-ray is capable of stopping any electrical device with one shot, be it human or Transformer.

Except Megatron. All a blast from the null-ray does is make him angry. It doesn't work on the Dinobots either, but they were already pissed at Screamer and the jets.

Fiction
Generation 1 cartoon
Shortly after arriving at the oil platform with his fellow Decepticons, Starscream is ordered to fire his null-ray at some equipment, causing the machinery to freeze and cease from working. More than Meets the Eye, Part 1 After causing a tidal wave at Sherman Dam, Megatron ordered Starscream to shoot three of the generators with blasts from the null-ray as part of their efforts to make Energon cubes. Why they would need the generators to stop working is beyond our understanding, but Megatron's schemes always have layers within them, and are far too complex for simple flesh creatures to understand. More than Meets the Eye, Part 2

After being discovered by Bumblebee, Starscream shot him with the null-ray, allowing the Decepticons to modify his memory circuits to lead the Autobots into a trap. Transport to Oblivion

Later, when Megatron had the power chip rectifiers of the Decepticons installed in him before his battle with Optimus Prime, Starscream lamented that he could no longer use the null-ray or his cluster bombs. A threat of termination from Megatron shut him up. Heavy Metal War

Determined not to be replaced by the human-built Nightbird, Starscream used his null-ray to fritz her circuits. Naturally, Megatron wasn't too happy about the loss of his new female "companion" and immediately labeled Starscream a traitor. Again. Enter the Nightbird

When Starscream partnered up with the (more than usually) paranoid Red Alert, Starscream fired his null-ray at Red Alert, causing his unstable logic circuits to stabilize. Auto Berserk

Later, Starscream was shown firing the null-ray from his nose while in vehicle mode. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1. Later still, he was shown firing it through his finger. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2

Starscream last used his null-ray at his own coronation as leader of the Decepticons. During the coronation, the Constructicons played trumpets, but Starscream, eager to get on with the ceremony, used the null-ray to slice the instruments in half. The Transformers: The Movie

In 2005, Marissa Faireborn had a hand-held blaster which fired null-rays. Whether this was reverse engineered from a captured Seeker, developed with the help of the Autobots, or was acquired by some sort of convoluted plan of Starscream's to replace Megatron, is unknown. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4

Transformers Armada
When Armada Starscream finally got his Mini-Con partner, Swindle, he gained a new attack called the "Null Laser Cannon". It didn't disable electrical stuff, but created a big explosion instead.Jungle

Transformers Armada PS2 game
In this incarnation it slices mountains in half instead of its usual effect.
It most likely does the same to Autobots, but Starscream was bashed offline by Optimus Prime before he could test that theory.

Transformers Cybertron
Starscream has two swiveling, very powerful laser cannons at his waist. He has two more that are stationary, one on each of his forward wingtips. He calls these Null Cannons. Again, they act like very powerful blasters. When he supersized, he replaced his broken Cyber Key-activated sword with a massive wide-bore null cannon. Fallen (episode)

Transformers Animated
This Starscream also packs null-rays as his main weapon, but these also just work like a very powerful blaster. Their destructive effect on Earth-made buildings is impressive, if not as intense as Armada Starscream's, and a sustained blast of around 12 seconds was enough to render all five Earth-bound Autobots unconscious—for a few seconds. Hmm. Then later a direct blast fully disabled Ultra Magnus for several minutes (well, to be fair, Magnus took a point-blank shot right in the kisser). Mission Accomplished

Revenge of the Fallen
Starscream designed his null-ray himself. It is a weapon feared for its ability to deactivate electrical systems.

War for Cybertron
The Null Ray is a sniper rifle. It zooms 10x and is the cloaked Scout's best friend. But don't bring a Null Ray to a firefight; it won't help against a charging Soldier with a Scrapmaker. <br>
Trivia
*At least once Starscream's null-ray appeared to cause freezing. This could be a mere error. fact

*Clearly, Starscream never bothered to patent the null-ray. Bad enough a G.I. Joe agent's daughter used them, but so did Generation 1 Whirl.

*Due to the Armada cartoon's frequent translation and dubbing errors, Starscream's "Null Laser Cannon" was randomly referred to as the "Narrow Laser Cannon" (despite the visually obvious fact that the laser blast was anything but narrow).

Swindle may buy and sell an arsenal's worth of weapons in a day, but he keeps an occasional piece of merchandise for himself. His scatter blaster fires a wide spray of explosive buckshot - perfect for keeping away dissatisfied customers.

Wildrider also uses the similar scattershot gun, which he could've easily bought off of Swindle. If he shoots at anything, including small five story buildings in a fifty-square yard area, up to a 1/4 mile away, THE TERRORISTS WIN.
Pull out the Scatter Blaster when the enemy Scouts and Scientists find your sniping spot. Plunging a few slugs into an unaware Soldier's back is another great way to score some cheap kills.<br>
