'''As the Autobots race to save Jungle Planet, Optimus Prime and Galvatron have their final battle.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Image:Cyb_ep50_i_dream_of_starscream.jpg|left|thumb|220px]]
With the [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] destroyed and peace returned to the universe, [[Coby Hansen|Coby]], [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] and [[Lori]] relax on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. While Coby is working on his [[Cobybot]], Bud sneaks up behind him and jumps on him, leading the two brothers to run around chasing each other in good spirits. Lori shrugs at their childishness, before noticing that [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] appears distracted. After all, [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] is still out there...

Galvatron is, in fact, much closer than the [[Autobot]] leader realizes, staring down at Cybertron from his vantage point on an asteroid floating above the planet. Wondering aloud if this is truly to be the end of his ambition, Galvatron's attention is suddenly drawn to a sparkle of light above his head. As he looks up, the light flares around him, and he suddenly finds himself on a burning landscape, standing before the towering form of [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]], who sits upon a throne flanked by [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] and [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]]. Starscream mocks Megatron for giving up, inciting the [[Decepticon]] commander's rage, at which point the burning world fades away, and Megatron finds himself on the asteroid once more. The sparkle of light floats nearer, and is revealed to be Starscream's [[crown]], which Galvatron takes in his hands. Reflecting on Starscream's words, he crushes the crown, and swears to finish things once and for all.

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_scourge_shake.jpg|right|thumb|220px]]

Down on Cybertron, the Autobots are dealing with the last hanging lingering remnant of the chaos wreaking upon the universe by the black hole: the [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] has been pulled out of its normal place in the cosmos, and must be restored. Working together as a massive construction crew, the Autobots disassemble and rebuild the engines of the colossal starship, the [[Ark (Cybertron)|Ark]], on Jungle Planet's surface, intending to use their thrust to push the planet through a [[space bridge]], back to its rightful place in the universe. [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]] thanks Optimus Prime for all that he has done for him, and all the non-Jungle-Planet-native Transformers return to Cybertron so that the planet can depart. The engines are fired up and all is going well, until Galvatron comes streaking down out of the sky and blasts his way through one of the four boosters, throwing off the planet's trajectory and causing it to careen towards Cybertron itself. No sooner are the Autobots aware of this crisis than Galvatron warps into their command centre on Cybertron, intent on finishing their war one way or another. Despite [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s protestations, Optimus Prime instructs the other Autobots to go and deal with the booster problem, leaving him to handle Galvatron one-on-one.

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_transformers_together.jpg|left|thumb|220px]]

The Autobots rush to Jungle Planet, where they quickly and effectively manage to extinguish the fires blazing around the rocket. Just as this task is accomplished, however, the struts supporting the damaged booster give way, and the rocket begins to topple over. Scourge rashly leaps into action, attempting to push the monolithic engine back into place using nothing but his own strength, and [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Leobreaker]] soon joins him. All the Autobots follow their lead, with the addition of the towering warriors of [[Gigantion]], the rocket's collapse is halted. However, it still needs to be righted back to its original placement to stop the collision with Cybertron, and the Autobots do not have the strength to do so. To make matters worse, [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]], [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]], [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] all turn up, apparently poised to take down the Autobots when they are busy supporting the booster and unable to fight back. In truth, however, the four former ne'er-do-wells are here to help save the planets as well, and all start pushing the rocket alongside the Autobots! More and more allies arrive through the [[space bridge]], as the Transformers of Earth, along with the natives of Jungle Planet, come to lend their strength to the effort. Together as one, the Transformers all glow with the power of Primus, and the rocket is thrust back into its correct position, propelling the Jungle Planet safely past Cybertron, through the space bridge, and home again.

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_lightning_storm.jpg|right|thumb|220px]]

As this triumphant battle against gravity is waged, Galvatron and Optimus Prime's own battle was been growing ever fiercer. Prime looks to be on the ropes until Galvatron vows to kill all his followers once he is done with Prime, a threat that galvanized Prime into action. Seizing his perennial foe, Prime takes flight, and carries them both to one of Cybertron's moons, where they watch as the Jungle Planet is saved. As their fight continues, the other Autobots soon come flying in to support their leader, and Galvatron exploits their presence to strike Prime where it will hurt the most. Unleashing a storm of purple lightning, Galvatron brings all the Autobots to their knees, then manifests a sword of dark energy which he uses to cleave one of Optimus's wings off. As he stands poised to deliver the killing blow...

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_rhisling.jpg|left|thumb|220px]]

...the glowing [[Planet Map]] suddenly flies from Bud's pocket, and blocks his blade! The light from the map floods the lunar battlefield, and Optimus Prime sees at its heard the spectral form of [[Vector Prime]], who reminds his old friend that he is watching over him from beyond the veil of time, and will always be there for him when his need is greatest. And this time, Vector Prime tells Optimus, he has brought a gift...

[[Image:Cyb_ep50_final_blow.jpg|right|thumb|220px]]

As the light of the map fades and the moon comes back into view, the luminescent globe of the Planet Map hangs between Prime and Galvatron, as the Decepticon leader demands to know what is happening. Optimus answers by reaching into the sphere before him, and from it, drawing Vector Prime's gift: his mighty sword, [[Rhisling]]! Galvatron is hurled aside by a strike from this blade of blades, and the two leaders power up for what can only be their final attack. Glowing with the golden energy of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], Optimus charges at Galvatron and impales his eternal enemy on Vector Prime's sword. A huge explosion results, and the Autobots wait nervously as the dust clears to see the outcome. As they return to visibility, Optimus Prime is standing over the collapsed Galvatron, who, even with a sword run through him, still reaches his hand outward towards Prime, claiming it will never be over. Unflinching, Optimus Prime bids Galvatron farewell...and the Decepticon's body disintegrates into ashes that blow away on the lunar winds. Moments later, an exhausted Prime collapses to his knees, as the other Autobots rush to their victorious commander's aid.
==Notes==

===Differences with ''Galaxy Force''===
[[Image:Cyb_ep50_animation_comparison.jpg|right|250px|thumb]]
*As in the previous episode, the landscape of the reborn Cybertron differs between the two versions of the show. ''Galaxy Force'' shows the planet with organic trees and fields of grass that are part of the background painting, whereas ''Cybertron'' replaces the trees with apparently-[[technorganic]] counterparts, and the fields with swathes of green circuit boards, both CGI-animated,
*In ''Cybertron'', Scourge thanks Lori for all that she has done; in ''Galaxy Force'', he tells her that he will come and visit her on Earth.
* In ''Cybertron'', Red Alert attempts to shut down the rockets in order to halt the planet's movement, only to have a short circuit increase their power and speed, hastening the danger. Conversely in ''Galaxy Force'', getting the power back up was his ''intention''.
*In its final great moment of [[Burning Justice]], this episode sees the entire Transformer race glow with a magic golden aura that suddenly makes them strong enough to push the rocket back into place. Steadfast to the last, ''Galaxy Force'' does not remark upon this, treating it as perfectly normal, while ''Cybertron'' slips in the explanation that they are glowing with the power of Primus that exists in all of them.
*The tone of Prime and Galvatron's final battle following Vector Prime's appearance is much more "victorious" and "exciting" in ''Cybertron'', as heroic music swells up, and after the final blow is struck, Prime assures his troops that he is okay. In ''Galaxy Force'', by comparison, the music for the fight is somber and dramatic, and the final seconds of the episode are silent.
{{--}}
<!--===Animation and/or technical glitches===
* At one point, [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]] speaks with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s voice. Didn't see this anywhere. More specific description?-->

===Transformers references===
* The opening moments of this episode, as Coby works on his [[Cobybot]] and Bud scares him by sneaking up from behind, mirroring exactly the original animation added to ''Galaxy Force''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s third opening sequence of Coby working on his motorbike, down to the movements of the characters' hands. About the only difference is the clothes they're wearing.
* Starscream, Sideways and Soundwave were blasted into another dimension in "[[Showdown (episode)|Showdown]]". Their appearance in this episode is fairly confusing, as they appear to be reaching out across the dimensions somehow.
* Galvatron and Optimus deliver several lines of paraphrased dialogue from ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', all quoted above. ''Cybertron'' is no stranger to pilfering movie dialogue, but while "I still function" has been heard in the show before, used by Starscream back in "[[Showdown (episode)|Showdown]]", and "Why throw away your life so recklessly?" has been heard before in "[[Fury]]", "Only one shall stand" has never been used in the show before.

===Real-world references===
[[Image:Cybprime exkaiser.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Mine's bigger.]]
* The battle between Optimus Prime and Galvatron contains several visual references to the final showdown between Great Exkaizer and Dinogeist from the anime series ''[[Brave|Brave Exkaiser]]''. Both clashes take place on a moon, and the heroes both wield massive swords that are drawn in an identically dynamic fashion, glow golden as they deliver the final blow to the villain, and have their helmets shattered during the fight.
{{--}}
===Trivia===
[[Image:Cyb_ep50_death_cannon.jpg|right|thumb]]
* This is the only episode in ''Galaxy Force'' to not have [[commercial bumper]]s featuring a character/characters from the series. The only indication of leading to commercial and returning is the ''Galaxy Force'' logo appearing on screen in the upper-right corner.
*In the grand Japanese ''Transformers'' tradition of modes like [[Sixshot]]'s "Wingwolf", [[Overlord (G1)|Overlord]]'s "space jet" and [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]]'s "dakatsu", the weapon configuration Galvatron adopts in this episode (named his "Death Cannon" in ''Galaxy Force'', pictured at right) is not part of the toy's instructions, but was created by the cartoon's production staff after fiddling with the figure. As such, it's entirely possible to configure the toy into this form.
* During the fire-fighting scenes of this episode, there is a brief moment where Vector Prime's map falls to the ground and catches Bud's attention. This will be a familiar staple to you if you've watched a lot of anime, since in Japan, for something to fall over or break without anyone touching it or any form of outside interference - a teacup cracking, a shoelace breaking, or the family shrine falling - has usually been considered as a bad omen, or at least a warning. ''Transformers'' has even had a prior example, in the ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' episode "[[Cramp]]", when [[Alexis]]'s [[Good Luck Necklace|necklace]] cracked at the moment of Starscream's death.

==Notes==

===Differences with ''Galaxy Force''===
{{--}}
<!--===Animation and/or technical glitches===
* At one point, [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]] speaks with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s voice. Didn't see this anywhere. More specific description?-->

===Transformers references===

===Real-world references===
{{--}}
===Trivia===
'''As the Autobots race to save Jungle Planet, Optimus Prime and Galvatron have their final battle.'''

==Synopsis==

==Notes==

===Differences with ''Galaxy Force''===
{{--}}
<!--===Animation and/or technical glitches===
* At one point, [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]] speaks with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]]'s voice. Didn't see this anywhere. More specific description?-->

===Transformers references===

===Real-world references===
{{--}}
===Trivia===
'''The Decepticons fight to save Earth from Rodimus Prime's Autobots.'''
==Synopsis==
After [[Heatwave]] manages to locate [[Soundwave (Shattered Glass)|Soundwave]]'s stasis pod and get him reactivated, they gather up Soundwave's cassettes who have landed nearby, and go off in search of the ''[[Nemesis (Shattered Glass)|Nemesis]]''. They eventually find the ship's crash site, and discover there's a team of local scientists snooping around. After a misunderstanding between the scientists and [[Ravage (Shattered Glass)|Ravage]], the [[Decepticon]]s eventually learn that the [[human]]s—[[Professor Arkeville]] and his interns—are friendly and sympathetic, and invite them onboard to meet up with [[Starscream (Shattered Glass)|Starscream]] and [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]], who survived the crash.

[[Rodimus (Shattered Glass)|Rodimus]], on the other hand, meets up with his own set of human allies—the [[Witwicky#Shattered Glass continuity family|Witwicky brothers]]—when the three try to steal him. He takes them back to the ''[[Ark (Shattered Glass)|Ark]]'' and convinces the other [[Autobot]]s to accept the humans' help, though not before dealing with an attempt by [[Goldbug (Shattered Glass)|Goldbug]] to usurp leadership. Rodimus ultimately wins, and, after listening to advice from the Witwickys and studying [[Earth]]'s transmissions, hatches a plan: Hijack one of the United States' [[Burpleson Air Force Base|military bases]], take control of the country's [[Global Orbital Defense Satellite|defense satellite]], and use it to hold the planet hostage until the humans accept the Autobots as their new Mafia-like leaders.

The Decepticons learn of the Autobots' success in gaining control of the base, and launch an assault to free it, having managed to locate [[Crasher (Shattered Glass)|Crasher]]'s pod in the meantime. During the fight that ensues, [[Heatwave]] is able to gain access to the satellite's controller and use it to disable the Autobots' control and evacuate the base. He then turns the satellite on the base itself, destroying it, and finally crushes the controller as well. The satellite then self-destructs.

When [[President Colton]] hears of the situation, he decides that, while the Decepticons are worth keeping an eye on, he's especially interested in the Autobots...
==Short synopsis==
[[Image:ROTFteaserposter.jpg|right|250px|thumb|For dry, red eyes, the difference is clear: Clear Eyes.]]

The Autobots have found a home in "NEST", a secret military unit created to seek out and eliminate the remaining Decepticons. All is not well, however. Unbeknownst to them, Soundwave is in orbit, coordinating the Decepticon counterstrike. After Ravage steals the Allspark shard from NEST, a team of Constructicons and The Doctor journey to the bottom of the ocean and use it revive Megatron. The Decepticon leader journeys to the crashed Nemesis, rebukes Starscream, and meets with his master, The Fallen.

The Fallen explains that he had constructed a Solar Harvester on Earth, in violation of the Primes' code to never harm an inhabited planet. The Primes turned on him, banished and imprisoned him. However the Harvester still stands, and only one Prime remains. If Megatron destroys Optimus Prime, The Fallen will be freed to activate the Harvester, which will kill off the humans and provide the Decepticons with enough energon to raise an army. Megatron eagerly agrees, and returns to Earth with a vengeance.

It transpires that the location of the Harvester is hidden within Sam Witwicky, who absorbed the knowledge from another Allspark fragment. The Decepticons begin an all-out war across the Earth as they hunt down the human, and the Autobots and NEST are blamed for the ensuing carnage. Witwicky goes to ground, and must turn to unlikely allies in the race to find a solution. Ultimately, the last of the Primes defeats The Fallen, destroys the Harvester, and proves the Transformers' greatest power is found in their unexpectedly-ancient alliance with the humans.
While the Decepticons were disgusted with the pro-Autobot propaganda of Bay's first documentary {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 13|#13's Star Screams}}, they're quite optimistic about the second film. [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] has taken a strong interest in it, going to the trouble of personally convincing [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] to be in the film {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 15|15's Star Screams}}.

The Decepticons promise this new documentary will show a glorious Decepticon victory {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 10|#10's Star Screams}} - whether it's in the script or not. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 18|#18's Star Screams}}

Shockingly, even ''they'' are under a non-disclosure agreement regarding the script; Starscream fearfully refers to a greater power keeping him quiet. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 22|#22's Star Screams}} Talking about it could even undermine the Decepticon war effort! {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 23|#23's Star Screams}}
In the same week the film came out, the Decepticons suddenly became unhappy with it and the detente period ended. Bay, Kurtzman, and Orci are once again marked for extermination for their propaganda films. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2.1|#1's Law and Disorder}}
RottenTomatoes.com's consensus was that "''Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'' is a noisy, underplotted, and overlong special effects extravaganza that lacks a human touch." Roger Ebert, who gave the movie one star, remarked that "if you want to save yourself the ticket price, go into the kitchen, cue up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get a kid to start banging pots and pans together." <ref>[http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090623/REVIEWS/906239997 Roger Ebert's ''Revenge of the Fallen'' review] on RogerEbert.com</ref> Todd Gilchrist of Cinematical.com said Michael Bay "has exceeded even the possibilities of sequel-driven 'moreness,' combining his own muscular, high-gloss sensibility with the conventions of blockbusters past, present, and probably future to create a monolithic action masterpiece that feels destined to be the biggest movie of all time." <ref>[http://www.cinematical.com/2009/06/22/review-transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen/ Review: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen] on Cinematical.com</ref> Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune said "the first, comparatively lucid ''Transformers'' was a headache, but I sort of enjoyed it....''Revenge of the Fallen'' is more like listening to rocks in a clothes dryer for 2½ hours." <ref>[http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/movies/chi-tc-mov-transformers-0623-0624jun23,0,7350387.story 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel] on chicagotribune.com </ref> Roger Ebert went back for more in a second article, declaring not only that ''Revenge of the Fallen'' was awful, but that it'd [[Ruined FOREVER|ruined action films FOREVER]]. <ref>[http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2009/06/the_fall_of_the_revengers.html "The Fall of the Revengers"] on suntimes.com</ref>

Despite the overwhelmingly negative reviews, ''Revenge of the Fallen'' poised itself quickly as a blockbuster maelstrom. It grossed $16 million in its opening midnight showings alone, an all-time record for Wednesday openings and a second-best for openings on any day of the week behind ''The Dark Knight''. After the full Wednesday was over, ''Revenge of the Fallen'' had grossed $55 million in domestic ticket sales, surpassing the previous Wednesday release record, held by ''Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'', by over $10 million. <ref> [http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1614673/story.jhtml 'Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen' Breaks Wednesday Box-Office Record] on MTV.com</ref>
==Trivia==
*The official title of the film is ''Revenge of the Fallen'' (with a lower-case "t" in "the") even though it is apparently referring to [[The Fallen]] (with a capital "T" in "The").
*Leo's room features posters for [[Wikipedia:Naruto|Naruto]], [[Wikipedia:Cloverfield|Cloverfield]], and [[Wikipedia:Bad Boys 2|Bad Boys 2]].
*During the scenes set in and around the deli in NYC, posters for the bands [[Wikipedia:Catch 22 (band)|Catch Twenty-Two]] and [[wikipedia:Voodoo Glow Skulls|Voodoo Glow Skulls]] are prominently featured.
*[[Frank Welker]] dubbed [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] not only in English but also in Italian, as a result, in the Italian edition of the movie Soundwave speaks with a strange, foreign accent.

==Transformers references==
* The whole concept of "Transformers disguised as a human" used for [[Alice]] is inspired by the [[Pretender]]s. Roberto Orci even used the term "Pretender" during an interview before the movie release. However, a Transformer with an "organic" alt-mode instead of an external shell is a concept that reminds more of the Beast Era. Put the two together and you get [[Sari Sumdac]].
* In an interview with BANG! Showbiz, Shia LeBouf stated that the injuries he suffered in his recent vehicular collision were written into the script and did not adversely affect the filming schedule.<ref name="TheList2008">[http://www.list.co.uk/article/10788-shia-labeoufs-transformers-hand/ The List 1 August 2008]</ref>
* Also on January 29, 2009, Simon Furman commented on MTV Movie Blog about how the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] wouldn't fit very well into the movie's universe, and that he is glad they were dropped from the cast very early in development.<ref>[http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/01/29/no-dinobots-in-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen-original-film-consultant-explains-why/ MTV Movie Blog interview with Simon Furman, January 29, 2009.]</ref>
* Michael Bay stated in interview with ''The Collider'' the he obtained permission to film in Egypt by contacting [[Zahi Hawass]], secretary general of Egypt's council of antiquities, who turned out to be a fan of the 2007 ''Transformers'' movie.<ref>[http://www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp/aid/10866/tcid/1 The Collider article and video interview with Michael Bay, February 9, 2009]</ref>
* In an interview with Sci Fi Wire on March 31st, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman said they had looked through the comics and cartoons for the "most elemental bad guy" that "jumped off the material" and found that in the Fallen. They also stated that due to production necessities (Hasbro and Bay needing characters for scenes and design to begin as soon as possible) and the 2008-2009 Writers Strike, some characters were in their initial treatment while others were designed specifically for the movie production, and that due to the overall numbers of robots, the audience would not get to know all of the Transformers closely. Indeed, Orci and Kurtzman referred to some characters via descriptors such "Volt" (Jolt) and "Wheelbot" (Demolishor). They also confirmed that Nimoy was open to playing the Fallen if the role was offered, and that they were in the middle of hashing it out with Frank Welker over a role in the movie, but the final decision was down to Bay.<ref name="scifiwireMarch2009">[http://scifiwire.com/2009/03/orci-kurtzman-reveal-tran.php SciFi Wire March 2009 interview with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman]</ref>
* On the MTV Movies blog, Michael Bay reported that they were still doing for the voices for the film, and that he was (jokingly) nervous of asking his relative Leonard Nimoy if he wanted to voice The Fallen in the movie for fear of offending him with the relatively low pay allotted to voice actors.<ref>[http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/04/21/michael-bay-afraid-to-offend-leonard-nimoy-with-transformers-family-reunion-offer/ ''Michael Bay Afraid To Offend Leonard Nimoy With ‘Transformers’ Family Reunion Offer'', MTV.com Movies blog, April 21, 2009]</ref>
* In a June 22nd article in Forbes (released online on June 4th), Michael Bay talked about his philosphy in movie-making, his demand of part-ownership of movies he makes, and the revelation that he receives an 8% cut of all toy sales from the ''Transformers'' movies.<ref>[http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2009/0622/celebrity-09-transformers-michael-bay-making-movies-enemies-money.html Michael Bay article on Forbes.com June 4, 2009]</ref>
===Disinformation===
{{cleanup|June 25, 2009}}
* Michael Bay has claimed that the studio is putting out deliberate misinformation, to obscure real leaks.<ref>[http://io9.com/382919/michael-bay-plays-internet-punkd Michael Bay Plays Internet Punk'd]</ref> (Like our jobs weren't hard enough.)
* During San Diego Comic-Con 2008, in an interview on July 25th, [[Simon Furman]] claimed that the film would feature a character called [[The Fallen]], which was a character they created for [[Dreamwave Productions|Dreamwave]]'s ''[[The War Within: The Dark Ages]]''<ref>[http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=17412 Simon Furman confirms The Fallen is a character in an interview with Comic Book Resources]</ref> Three days later, [[IDW Publishing]] writer [[Chris Mowry]] corroborated the claim in an interview with MTV Splash Page, calling "The Fallen" the main villain of ''Revenge'' ([[Arcee (Movie)|Arcee]] was also confirmed in the same interview, but the reference to her was mysteriously removed shortly after publication). <ref>[http://splashpage.mtv.com/2008/07/28/exclusive-transformers-2-prequel-comic-gives-inside-scoop-on-2009-movie/ MTV Splash Page interviews Chris Mowry]</ref> Less than a week after this, however, Michael Bay reiterated that everything leaked thus far is part of their misinformation campaign and that only a handful of people involved with the production of ''Revenge'' have seen the script, contradicting IDW's interviews where their representatives confirm that they have the script. Additionally, Bay claimed the only truth about the film was Sam going to college.<ref>[http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum/showpost.php?p=44729&postcount=2 A post made by Michael Bay on his forum]</ref> Curiously, on August 5th 2008, after a fan posted on Michael Bay's forum pointing out the contradiction, all references to the Fallen were removed from the aforementioned interviews, as well as any references to IDW Publishing having the script.
* ''Empire'' magazine's February 2009 issue features information on the role of the Egyptian Pyramids in the Movieverse's backstory. Michael Bay also confirmed The Fallen and denied Megatron would be resurrected (this later turned out to be untrue). Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics resembling helicopters will be revealed to be depictions of Transformers who visited Earth before the pyramids were built.<ref name="EmpireFeb2009">''Empire'' article entitled "20 to watch in 2009", written by Nick de Semelyn, dated February 2009, pages 68 and 69, issue 236</ref>
* After a short and poorly excuted "misinformation campaign" on the part of Michael Bay, Paramount and their licensees where they claimed that Megatron was not in the movie despite all ''officially released'' evidence to the contrary (including Megatron's brief appearance in the February 1 Superbowl tv spot and the February teaser trailer), Roberto Orci confirmed that Megatron does indeed return.<ref name="Megatron returns">[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-movie-discussion/180451-welcome-mr-roberto-orci-you-may-ask-him-questions-211.html#post3333713 Roberto Orci confirms Megatron's return on TFW2005.com - February 22, 2009]</ref>
* On March 6, due to the reports of Weaving's return, Michael Bay finally admitted Megatron was back, but claimed that Megatron would only appear briefly in a flashback to the past, despite the fact Megatron can be seen pinning Sam Witwicky to the ground in ''Revenge's'' tv spot and teaser trailer. One can assume that the director was trying to salvage some form of audience surprise in seeing Megatron return in the movie. In other news of a presumably legitimate kind, Bay said that the movie would go into the distant past and explain the history of the [[Prime]]s.<ref>[http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum/showpost.php?p=66825&postcount=4 Michael Bay on his forum - March 6, 2009]</ref>
===''Transformers'' sequel and the 2007-2008 Writers Strike===
In late 2007, during preproduction for then-untitled ''Transformers'' sequel, the [[wikipedia:2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike|Writers Guild of America went on strike]]. At the time, Roberto Orci stated that the strike could likely delay ''Transformers 2's'' release. However, Michael Bay refuted this, claiming the movie was still on schedule.<ref>[http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6200#post6200 Robert Orci discusses the strike & TF2]</ref> The reason behind Bay's confidence was discovered by Orci shortly after the strike ended. The director had apparently taken the outline the writers had handed in the night before the strike, and began pre-production based on it. <ref>[http://www.donmurphy.net/board/showthread.php?t=24357&page=4 Don Murphy message board - Orci on the aftermath of the strike]</ref>
*Bumblebee picks up Sam at a frat party in the evening. He then takes him to a graveyard where it's daytime.
*Wheelie disappeared inexplicably in the third act. What the hell, man?
**Similarly Jetfire vanishes around the same time Wheelie does. But unlike Wheelie, he actually comes back.
*Mudflap and Skids are not seen again after facing off against Devastator.
*When Jetfire is activated at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (actually the [[Wikipedia:Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center|Steven F. When Jetfire breaks out of the building, we can see a composited image of the Boneyard's rows of planes, so it's arguable that in this universe the middle of Washington DC happens to be a desert full of old planes, and no buildings and uh... heh heh. Given that this and the Transformers are the ''only'' changes between this universe and ours, that's a stretch.
==Short synopsis==

In the week leading up to the United States release, while the film had been released in Japan and the United Kingdom, ''Revenge of the Fallen'' was ranking 38% fresh on [http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/transformers_revenge_of_the_fallen/ Rotten Tomatoes.com]. As American reviews were added into the ranking on June 24, the movie's freshness slipped slowly to 22%.

==Trivia==

==Transformers references==
===''Transformers'' sequel and the 2007-2008 Writers Strike===
Udvar-Hazy Center]], an annex of the Smithsonian) in Washington, he leaves the exhibition center and exits into the desert location of the [[Wikipedia:309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group|309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (aka The Boneyard)]], which is in Tuscon, Arizona.
