He is a microcassette player -- his cassettes are clearly labeled as MC60, for example. However, the animated series shows him at a transformed scale that is consistent with a regular cassette player. Well, Soundwave's character model shows up in Armada (and Beast Machines, for that matter). And while neither are clearly the actual dude, I think they're worth mentioning, long as "they're clearly not the actual dude" is stated. As for MW and TFU... well, the MW toy is blatabtly G1 Soundwave, and Starscream's e-hobby bio DOES pplace the Machine Wars in G1. TFU... worth NOTING, I think, making sure to state that there really is no fictional evidence that TFU Sounwave is G1 Soundy or even an alt-universe doppelganger, but that "alt-universe dollepganger" is the sfaest bet. - [[User: M Sipher|M "I Find That Holds True For Most TFU uys Who Never Got Fiction" Sipher]]

Cybertron Soundwave is awesome, nontheless. But the section was my bad, I added it before I realised this article was strictly meant for G1 Soundwave. Though I notice in Galaxy Force, there's a hint that it's "post G1". There's a brief shadowy shot of the Transformers taking the planet-keys for the Space Bridge in one of the episodes, and one of the Transformers taking a key is (or appears to be) G1 Optimus Prime!

So the UT possibly had it's own "G1 continuity" at some point. The only thing is, I haven't seen the equivalent episode in Cybertron yet, so this may only apply to Galaxy Force. - [[User: TheTurnipKing|ttk]]

I'm fairly sure the Audio casette VA is John Braden. (Same guy seems to have written and produced them, it's probably safe to assuem he was the sole VA/narrator too.)

I feel as though people will think I'm just making UK-stuff italics all by myself without cause. For those who don't know, there was a discussion on this. Ummm I noticed in an episode of Galaxy Force, just before GF Soundwave makes his appearance, there is a scene where Noisemaze is listening to a G1 Soundwave. As in a Tape/Microtape player. That's alright to include in this profile, right? Since it is a G1 Soundwave.

==Multi-linking to cassette articles==
In [http://transformers.wikia.com/index.php?title=Soundwave_%28G1%29&curid=2001&diff=93696&oldid=93684 this edit] SFH reverted a change I made earlier, such that the phrase "a legion of cassette troops" now multi-links to several cassette character articles. I disagree with this edit, but, rather than just revert it I figured I should post a comment to see if anybody has an opinion. I think that these multi-linked phrases are a bad idea in general because they obfuscate what is being linked to, as well as the fact that there is more than one link. I think they serve some practical use in snark articles, but should be avoided in general. In this particular case, I personally think it is ''more'' important that there be a link to [[Mini-Cassette]] than to any individual cassette's page, especially since the cassette article itself links to all of them. A "list of Soundwave's cassettes" could be added to this article, but, that would be redundant with the cassette article and I would prefer to avoid that. --[[User:Steve-o|Steve-o]] 21:43, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

:I'm with Steve. It's more important that we link to the Mini-cassette artical because that covers ALL of them, rather than the confusing and peacemeal way it is now. Change it.

While bored at work and idly poking around the wiki, I spotted that Trivia comment at the bottom about Soundwave's cassettes calling him "Big Brother." Out of idle curiosity, I'm wondering, did they call him "onii-san," or "aniki"? Just cause the latter ''can'' mean brother, but is also used in gang slang, where it means "boss," and that would make a lot more sense here... ==Cartoon section==
I think this needs a significant rewrite. It seems to be more about what he's like rather than what he did. Also, I want to add in the Madman comic story which is set firmly in the cartoon continuity, in the year 2001, so it's after Season 2, but before the movie. Derik suggested splitting the cartoon section up into season 1 & 2, put the Madman comic below that, then continue the movie and later seasons below Madman. In the trivia section, it says Soundwave never said a word in Dreamwave outside The War Within, however, in the Prime Directive miniseries, he warns Megatron of an incoming nuclear missile.
