A scientist by nature, with a more upperclass air, Thundercracker stands out among his fellow Decepticons in being a fairly calm and level-headed fellow. Lacking the ambition of Starscream and the cruel thuggery of Skywarp, he displays little malice towards his enemies and takes no joy from battle. For Thundercracker, conflict is simply an application of physics and energy distribution... in the direction of his foes.

Thundercracker served with Skywarp, former Sky Commander Starscream and Jetfire on an dilapidated orbital research station that once experimented on the powerful, but highly dangerous Dark Energon. This made it a target for the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, who wished to restart Dark Energon production in his plans to revitalise Cybertron. Megatron attacked the station and fought his way into the laboratory, and despite Starscream's attempts to destroy the remaining Dark Energon, Megatron withstood its destructive power and bent it to his will. His survival intrigued Starscream, who offered to serve Megatron in exchange for learning how to manipulate Dark Energon himself, and Thundercracker and Skywarp fell into line. Jetfire declared them traitors and left to warn Zeta Prime. Thundercracker and Skywarp were prepared to give chase, but Megatron allowed the Autobot to leave, as he wished Zeta Prime to know his demise was coming. Megatron scoffed at the idea of being given what he could simply take, until Starscream revealed that there was very little Dark Energon left on the research station, but he knew how to manufacture more, and that the ancient, long-forgotten Energon Bridge needed to be reactivated before they could do so.

Thundercracker, Starscream and Skywarp were sent the cliffs of Kaon where they could make their way towards the core. Thundercracker commented with wonder that he had never travelled this far into Cybertron before, for which Skywarp labelled him as being boring as always. As they entered the Energon Reservoir, Thundercracker warned his team mates to avoid touching the flowing streams and waterfalls of raw liquid energon. Making their way out of the reservoir, the three fliers faced their first serious challenge when an Autobot cruiser appeared in a canyon they needed to travel through. The trio crippled the cruiser's weapons system, fought their way past the Aerialbots and into the ship. Defeating the ship's defenders, they then destroyed it by placing a detpack on the ship's power core. While Starscream and Skywarp busied themselves with glory hogging and relishing the battle against the Autobots, Thundercracker tried to keep them alive, using his Energon repair ray to heal their wounds. Deeper into the core, they encountered strange creatures the likes of which Thundercracker had never seen before. Eventually, they found themselves before the mechanism need to restart the Energon Bridge, but Thundercracker's scans detected something very unusual about the machine. True to his word, when the arrogant Starscream pushed his way past and injected Dark Energon into it, it activated its defense systems, revealing itself to be Cybertron's Sentinel. The three Decepticons were then forced to fight a desperate battle where the Sentinel threw heat-seeking fireballs at them, activated power energy beams and turned the floor into lava. Exploiting the machine's cooling down period, they were eventually victorious, and barely escaped with their lives when the Dark Energon infected the facility and reactivated the Energon Bridge, which sent its energon bouncing along satellites to Megatron's Dark Energon facility. Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)
Starscream was Sentinel Prime's bodyguard and aided in his kidnapping as Cybertron descended into anarchy. Starscream was pleased to participate, noting how cowardly Sentinel had been during the kidnapping, but was also aware his role in the plot had taken away his secure place in life. Regardless, he knew something Megatron did not: that aboard Trypticon Station was a stockpile of Dark Energon, the essence of Unicron himself, and he sent his Seekers to guard it.

As the war raged on, Starscream granted Megatron access to the Dark Energon, giving the Decepticons the edge in combat. Megatron sought to infect Cybertron's core with the substance by gaining the Plasma energy chamber. The revived Omega Supreme was ordered to fly the chamber away from Cybertron, and Starscream proved instrumental in downing Omega and allowing Megatron to take the chamber.

As Cybertron became uninhabitable, the Autobots left on the largest starship ever built - the Ark. Starscream left the planet with Megatron as they gave pursuit on Trypticon, now a Nemesis-class supercruiser. For the last thousand years of Great War, Starscream was in charge of an orbital production facility that produced Dark Energon. The station's force of neutral soldiers were no match for Megatron's invading forces, while Starscream and Jetfire's repeated warnings that no one could control Dark Energon had no effect on Megatron. Instead, Megatron tempted Starscream with knowledge of his past, reminding him of his demotion from Sky Commander to a mere guard, and offered him to join the Decepticons, something Starscream scoffed at. Starscream attempted to destroy the station's stock of Dark Energon before the Decepticon leader could reach it, but failed, and watched with shock as Megatron infused himself with the substance. Starscream quickly volunteered his services for the Decepticon cause, causing Jetfire to label him a traitor. Megatron sent him with Thundercracker and Skywarp to Cybertron to reactivate the Energon Bridge. When Optimus and his team attempted a prison break to free Zeta Prime, Laserbeak was Soundwave's last line of defense, ejecting from Soundwave and screeching across the prison chamber at high speeds, blasting (what else?) laser bursts onto the fighters below. He was eventually downed, however, and accompanied Soundwave in a hasty retreat.Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)
:Armorhide is a neutral Cybertronian (but probably not for long) from the Transformers: Prime continuity family.
faceless

All Armorhide ever wanted to do was make people laugh. His ability to do so eventually netted him a cushy job as the headlining comedian at the Altihex Casino. Always a crowd-pleaser, he's happy to have a job that allows him to get his fellow robots' minds off the cares of the world.

He can't abide hecklers though. Few things scarier than an angry comedian with a rocket launcher.

Fiction
Armorhide was in the middle of his biggest night; Sentinel Prime himself was in the audience, but the jokes just weren't firing, and the crowd was apprehensive. After all, this was Sentinel Prime in the audience. But as Armorhide was joking about his last joke bombing, Sentinel laughed... and then all hell broke loose as a squad of "Decepticons" tore through the outer hull of the orbiting casino, right into the Great Hall where Armorhide was performing.

Armorhide was actually the last bot in the hall, surviving the onslaught and refusing to leave the stage. But the interruption made him really, really angry. So angry he even took a potshot at the passing Starscream, Sentinel's trusted bodyguard, because the Seeker hadn't laughed at any of the jokes at all. Starscream paid the comedian no heed, however, and tore off through the hole in the hull back to the surface.

Realizing that the Decepticons had numerous ground units among their number, requiring some kind of transport, Armorhide peered through the hole to see their abandoned shuttle still attached to the outer wall. After a brief internal argument about whether or not he should say anything out loud even though no-one could hear him even if anyone was there to hear him and whether or not he was the kind of bot to talk to himself (apparently he was), he crawled to the shuttle and headed for the surface in order to get word of the Casino's fall to somebody at Iacon. Exodus: The Official History of the War for Cybertron

Notes
* Armorhide is clearly based on the Cybertron Autobot Armorhide, who is himself a comedian with a temper. Though no physical description of this Armorhide is ever given, so we don't know if he turns into some kind of truck. Probably.
The Transformer designated D-16 took the legendary name Megatronus as his own and rose from the oppressed lower working castes of Kaon. Finding his true purpose and direction in the region's illegal gladiatorial games, he was redubbed Megatron by the crowds and rode his unmatched power and combat skills to fame and influence. Megatron's call for an upheaval of Cybertron's society, his insistance that the freedom of self-determination was the right of all sentient beings, drew many of the oppressed and dissaffected to his cause.

But power corrupts, and Megatron's revolution, like many such movements, quickly turned to tyranny. Powerful, charismatic, violent, and full of rage for any who would stand in the way of his ambition and drive it doesn't take Megatron and his Decepticon armies long to bring Cybertron to the brink of destruction.

In the beginning of the Cybertronian War, Megatron had discovered a powerful version of the well-known Energon known as Dark Energon. He learned that the factory that produces this powerful source is out in space, guarded by the one known as Starscream. He, along with Barricade and Brawl, took to a small Decepticon flagship and headed towards the factory. Starscream sent his forces out to handle Megatron, but the Decepticon leader had a few tricks up his sleeve, and unleashed a battalion of drones. This allowed Megatron to ram the flagship into the heart of the factory. After encountering several drones, Megatron and his two soldiers had finally reached Starscream himself. Megatron declares the powerful Dark Energon his to control after blasting through a wall. Jetfire tries to warn Megatron that he's endangering the whole of Cybertron, but Starscream intervenes and asks to be in allegiance to Megatron. Jetfire, who is in objection, says that he will tell of this to Sentinel Zeta Prime. Megatron sends Starscream to reconnect the Dark Energon bridge, then brings Soundwave and Breakdown along to infiltrate the Autobot city of Iacon. They sucessfully reach Zeta Prime himself, who projects an enormous hologram of himself and uses certain elements in the room (collapsing pillars) and creates holographic energon clones to attack the Decepticon trio. Megatron easily slides through these defenses and brings Zeta down. The hologram is destroyed (along with the machinery) and huge chunks of metal rain down on the now defenseless Prime. Megatron severely damages him, then steals the much desired Omega Key. Zeta informs Megatron that he was misinformed, and that the key-looking device only activates the key to the core. He then warned them that the key was coming to them. Megatron and his troops use another flagship to find out where the key is. The key then attacks them and reveals its name: Omega Supreme! Omega arrives in his ship form, and the Decepticons utilize Autobot turrets to disable Omega Supreme. They finally make the giant fall underground. Omega was not hesitant to attack the Decepticons when they fled underground to corrupt him. Although a tough fighter, Megatron was able to corrupt Omega Supreme by corrupting the batteries he used to recharge himself. Omega Supreme had no choice but to comply. Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, and the rest put the corrupters in place and bombarded the core of Cybertron with Dark Energon, allowing Megatron to take command of Cybertron.
