'''Team Prime wages war against the Decepticon citadel.'''

==Synopsis==
As the [[Autobot]]s prepare for battle, [[William Fowler|Fowler]] points out that the military has the weapons necessary to take down the fortress, but can't attack while [[Darkmount (Earth)|Darkmount]]'s [[fusion cannon]]s are pointed at major cities. [[Ultra Magnus (WFC)|Ultra Magnus]] resolves to disable the cannons. As Darkmount has [[GroundBridge]] jamming capabilities, they will have to attack in a more roundabout way.

In an underground cavern, [[Smokescreen (Prime)|Smokescreen]] expresses his doubt that he's ready to be a [[Prime (rank)|Prime]], but [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus]] points out that the decision will be made by the [[Matrix of Leadership]].

[[File:Rebellion-Shockwave.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Move out, Predacons; we've waited a long time for this. Yesss, let us be close enough to enjoy it.]]

[[Jack Darby|Jack]] uses his cellphone at a gas station, and his signal is promptly picked up by the [[Decepticon]]s. [[Starscream (WFC)|Starscream]] dispatches his seekers to investigate, but [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] GroundBridges Jack back to the ''[[Harbinger]]'' before they can reach him. [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] likewise calls for pizza from a [[New York City|New York]] alley to lure Decepticons there. Ratchet has Jack make a fake transmission from an [[Energon]] Mine, forcing Starscream to send [[Insecticon (Prime)|Insecticon]]s to check the location. With the Decepticon forces thus scattered, the Autobots bridge to the fortress while Fowler stands ready at a nearby air base with a squadron of jets.

[[File:Rebellion-UltraMagnus.jpg|right|thumb|300px|They've deduced our strategy, such as it was.]]

As the report comes in that the Energon Mine is safe and not under attack, [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] demands to know why the Decepticons have been spread so thin. [[Soundwave (WFC)|Soundwave]] solves the mystery of where the Autobots are by pointing out the existence of the ''Harbinger'', however before Starscream can dispatch his armada to attack it, Darkmount itself comes under attack. Down below, [[Wheeljack (Prime)|Wheeljack]] and [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] toss grenades at the base of the fortress and use their new weapons to stave off the [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicon]]s that attack them. Meanwhile [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]] and [[Arcee (WFC)|Arcee]] take a more subtle route.

[[Shockwave (WFC)|Shockwave]] humbly suggests releasing [[Predaking (Prime)|the Predacon]] to repel the attackers. The beast enters the fray, but is quickly distracted by [[Ultra Magnus's ship]]. As it attempts to chase Magnus, Ratchet opens a GroundBridge, sending the creature to the Arctic, where it quickly freezes. Shockwave leaves the ''[[Trypticon (WFC)|Nemesis]]'' and starts jumping down the side of the fortress.

The dying Optimus begins to have a vision of the [[Allspark]] and [[Alpha Trion (WFC)|Alpha Trion]]. Though Prime worries about the fate of the Matrix, his old teacher assures him it will pick a new leader.

Arcee reports to Magnus that she and Bumblebee have run into some trouble and are pinned down. Ultra Magnus decides to take matters into his own hands, entering the fortress and attacking the fusion cannon control room directly. He swiftly takes care of the Decepticons at the controls, only for Megatron himself to arrive. Meanwhile Shockwave reaches the bottom of the tower and incarcerates Bulkhead and Wheeljack with a single tank cannon blast, and Arcee and Bumblebee are surrounded by Decepticon troops. Ultra Magnus fights bravely against Megatron, but ultimately loses and is dragged up to the throne room.

Alpha Trion invites Optimus to join with the Allspark. In the cavern, the Optimus's optics flicker out and his chestplate opens up to reveal the Matrix. Smokescreen has other ideas, and drags the [[Forge of Solus Prime]] over in order to place it in Optimus's hand. A surge of energy emanates from the hammer.

[[File:Rebellion-prepunch.jpg|left|thumb|300px|My turn.]]

As Ultra Magnus won't tell Megatron anything, the Decepticon leader orders the prisoners executed and the fusion cannons fired, however Starscream points out that there's something incoming. In the ''Harbinger'', Ratchet also detects the inbound object, and it has an Autobot signature. It reaches visual range of the Decepticons, revealing itself to be Optimus himself, in a new upgraded form. Landing in the throne room, Optimus deals Megatron a series of concussions before smashing the Decepticon leader all the way into the throne. Once the other Decepticons have been dealt with, Magnus deals Starscream a shattering uppercut before briefing Optimus, who sets out to destroy the fusion cannons. The Autobots at the base of the tower, on hearing the news, overthrow their captors.

Enraged, Megatron takes to the air and attempts to shoot down Prime. The news that there are incoming human forces has Starscream order the fusion cannons to fire, but while they're still powering up, Optimus Prime punches Megatron and flings the Decepticon leader directly into the fusion cannon power core, disabling the cannons. The Autobots make a hasty withdrawal as Fowler's squadron unleashes missiles on Darkmount. The Decepticons likewise retreat to their warship. Smokescreen drives up the highway in time to see the fortress come crashing to the ground.

Later, at [[Hangar E|a military base]], Fowler gives the Autobots a speech of thanks. The Autobots note that the Forge's power has been completely drained, but Ratchet assures Smokescreen he made the right choice.

[[Image:Rebellion-Autobotgroupshot.jpg|700px|center|thumb|In the meantime, I've got a lot of catching up to do. People to meet, things to do, specifically to have Rattrap clear all of his junk out of my quarters!]]
==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
* Wheeljack doesn't have a grenade on his hip when he and Bulkhead engage the Seekers, but it appears there immediately after he uses his energy whip to destroy a few of them.
* When Wheeljack unsheathes his katanas to attack the Decepticons, the handles remain part of his character model as he draws them. The error is fixed by the next shot.
* When Optimus flies to the scene and quickly starts pounding Megatron, the latter's leg wobbling doesn't really match with background movement.
* Ratchet's "Pfft, well..." reaction to Miko suggesting the Forge might do him some good is completely out of sync with his mouth movements. The line itself is lifted from "[[Scattered]]".
* When Megatron drops to the ground about to fight Ultramagnus, the sound from his land seems to stop too abruptly. Normally there is a slight echo after a crashing sound effect. Maybe the room did not create an echo?

===Continuity errors===
* When the Autobots sent the Scraplets to the Arctic in "[[Scrapheap (episode)|Scrapheap]]", Ratchet reasoned that the smaller body mass of the Scraplets would render them much more vulnerable to the extreme cold. By comparison, both Optimus and Arcee remained functional, if somewhat impaired, for a significant period. Despite this, Predaking, who is even larger than Optimus (not counting the wings), is frozen solid in under a minute. Of course, they could have just bridged him to a far colder area.
* Wheeljack is seen in Ultra Magnus' ship holding the energy whip ''and'' a blaster. However in the battle that follows he elects to use his own built in blaster.
* Darkmount was located right next to the ruins of the Autobot base. Smokescreen retrieved Optimus from the rubble and presumably hid him in a cavern somewhere close by. Yet when Smokescreen tries to join the battle, he's seen arriving by the highway, having apparently driven a considerable distance.

===Continuity notes===
* The Autobots dispose of Predaking in the same manner as they did the [[Scraplet]]s in "[[Scrapheap (episode)|Scrapheap]]". [[Project Predacon|It doesn't work as well as they hoped]].
* The Forge of Solus Prime was established to be low on energy in "[[Prey (episode)|Prey]]". Optimus' upgrade drains it completely.
* Optimus repeats the line "Megatron, begone" from "[[Orion Pax, Part 3]]", in much the same context.
* Wheeljack retains the scars inflicted by Starscream in "[[Scattered]]".
* With Darkmount destroyed and the Autobots getting a new base courtesy of the U.S. military, both sides are pretty close to where they started off. Just like old times.
* Despite her last encounter with Shockwave, Arcee does not seem at all surprised to see him. Nor is she even given any interaction with him.

===Transformers references===
* Optimus Prime gets a jetpack, much like his ''[[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Cybertron]]'', [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|film]] and ''[[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Animated]]'' counterparts.
* Ultra Magnus [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|could not deal with Wrecker-style on Cybertron, and he will not deal with it on Earth]].
* Much like [[Darkmount (Cybertron)|its G1 namesake]], Darkmount gets blown up pretty soon after its initial appearance.

===Trivia===
* This episode has a different map of the United States, this time with Louisiana in the right place.
* Shockwave runs for no man. Even his ''vehicle mode'' is slow!
* This is the first time in this series that anyone has [[flight|flown]] in robot mode.
* The Autobits edition of the episode mistakenly describes ''Shockwave's'' face as receiving "over 300 cable channels", rather than Soundwave's as intended. They had ONE job... How did it go wrong?
* Bulkhead is silent throughout the whole episode, unless you count his grunts during the various battles or his laughs heard at the tail end of the episode. [[Kevin Michael Richardson]] is still credited in the episode's credits.
'''The Autobots face the Decepticons for a last showdown.'''

==Synopsis==
The [[Autobot]]s storm the ''[[Trypticon (WFC)|Nemesis]]'' via the outer hull, while [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] lets them know he's heading for the [[Omega Lock]]'s control station. As he approaches the ship, [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus]] orders [[Arcee (WFC)|Arcee]]'s team to join Ratchet while [[Ultra Magnus (WFC)|Ultra Magnus]] and the [[Wrecker]]s take the bridge. Arcee asks if they should destroy the lock, but Optimus intends to use it to restore [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. [[Smokescreen (Prime)|Smokescreen]] has to be prompted to follow the others when he's momentarily distracted by the sight of [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] arriving on the top of the ship to face Prime. The Decepticon leader uses the [[Dark Star Saber]] to damage Optimus's jet pack. Optimus manages to land on one of the lower spires and starts climbing up.

Telling them he has something he needs to do, Smokescreen leaves Arcee and [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]]. Meanwhile, Ratchet reaches the control station and begins fighting [[Shockwave (WFC)|Shockwave]]. Arcee and Bumblebee approach the control station, as well, but they're cut off by [[Starscream (WFC)|Starscream]] and a bunch of Seekers who open fire on them. While this is going on, [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]] packs for a sudden journey he has to make right now. Smokescreen soon reaches the warship's storage area and retrieves the [[Star Saber (Prima)|Star Saber]].

Ultra Magnus and his team reach the bridge; however, their attempt is cut short by [[Soundwave (WFC)|Soundwave]], who [[GroundBridge]]s them to another part of the ship, where they're quickly surrounded. Ultra Magnus notifies everyone that his team has been delayed, which gives [[Jack Darby|Jack]] an idea. He asks [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]] to bridge him onto the ''Nemesis'' bridge as he's come up with a plan.

On the warship, Shockwave finishes pummeling Ratchet, but is interrupted by the Omega Lock signalling that it's ready to fire. As he opens the huge portal to prepare for firing, he spots Optimus hanging out on the Omega Lock's structure and is forced to take cover as Optimus opens fire. Megatron soon arrives to engage Optimus directly and orders Shockwave to begin the firing sequence.

Knock Out, wandering the corridors, finds himself cut off by the fighting. The bridge, meanwhile, is invaded by Jack and an [[Apex Armor (Prime)|Apex Armor]]-clad [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]]. She quickly finishes off the Vehicons on duty, but Soundwave advances on her with an open GroundBridge. Jack tells Raf to open a GroundBridge right next to Soundwave, and the conflicting bridge energies promptly transport Soundwave into the [[shadowzone (dimension)|shadowzone]]. As Jack and Miko head to the controls, the Omega Lock begins powering up on the bottom of the ship. On its rim, Optimus and Megatron continue to battle, with Optimus knocking the Dark Star Saber from Megatron's grip and decking him. Megatron orders Shockwave to prepare to fire, but is interrupted by the ship lurching while under Jack's control.

[[File:Tfp bee down.jpg|left|thumb|300px|Cue the tears of children worldwide.]]

Down below, Smokescreen passes Arcee and Bumblebee, carrying the Star Saber into the Omega Lock control room. He attempts to throw the sword down to Optimus, only to be blasted by Shockwave. Arcee, Bumblebee, Starscream and Shockwave all run for the weapon, but Arcee takes out Starscream, and Bumblebee reaches it first, decking Shockwave before grabbing the saber in midair. Ratchet warns Optimus he must use the Star Saber to destroy the Omega Lock; however, as Bumblebee jumps to pass the weapon to Optimus, he's blasted repeatedly by Megatron. As other Autobots watch in horror, Bumblebee dies. He plunges lifelessly into the Omega Lock's energy field.

Outraged, Optimus smacks Megatron around, only to be knocked off the Omega Lock when Megatron recovers the Dark Star Saber. As Prime clings to the side, Megatron prepares to finish the Autobot off, only to turn around in response to someone calling his name. Bumblebee runs him through with the Star Saber, and as everyone looks on in shock, Megatron dies, his body falling from the Omega Lock and plunging Earthward. Bumblebee helps Optimus climb up as the remaining [[Decepticon]]s scramble to escape. As the Autobots reunite, they marvel at the fact that Bumblebee has his voice back, and Optimus passes on the news to Magnus's team and [[Hangar E]] that Megatron has perished. With the ship now under Autobot control, Optimus orders Magnus to set course for Cybertron. Bumblebee radios Raf to let him know to come up so he can be there for the restoration of Cybertron.

As the ship passes through the [[space bridge]], Starscream and Shockwave reach the escape pods to find there's only one left. They cram into it and eject, though Starscream complains about the cramped conditions. Ratchet explains that he does not have the complete formula to synthesize cyber-matter, and the current amount was intended to cyberform Earth, not the much larger Cybertron. Optimus directs the ship to the [[Well of All Sparks]], so they can revitalize Cybertron's core. The beam of energy strikes Cybertron's core, and the planet is soon completely restored and glowing a healthy blue. On the bridge, Knock Out admires the planet's new luster, and claims to be "joining the winning team", only to be decked by Miko. [[Predaking (Prime)|Predaking]], still clinging to the hull, looks out over Cybertron before transforming and flying off.

Back on Earth, Optimus gives a speech about how they're going to miss [[Earth]]. Fowler says the three kids will be members of [[Unit:E]], June modifying it by mentioning that they'll be in a consulting capacity only until they're of age, and Ratchet takes the opportunity to announce he's staying on Earth. Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Arcee give a tearful farewell to their respective partners, while Fowler, Magnus, Wheeljack and Smokescreen share a mutual salute. As the Autobots head through the space bridge, Optimus gives Ratchet a last goodbye, and with a final lingering look at his human companions, strides through after his team.

==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
* Ultra Magnus goes into the battle using his built-in blasters, but in the next scene is lugging around the same handheld cannon he used in "[[Rebellion (Prime)|Rebellion]]".
* Even though the ship is orbiting Earth, Transformers and objects fall at a rate consistent with Earth-normal gravity outside of the ship.
* Though it makes sense that Megatron and Optimus failed to notice Bumblebee's revival, certainly the assembled Autobots and Decepticons should have, considering Bumblebee would have had to climb out of the cybermatter pool, grab the sword, then walk over to Megatron to stab him with it.
* Before Jack arrives in the ship, we see Soundwave and Laserbeak (on his chest) missing it's left wing.

===Continuity notes===
* Jack, Miko, and Raf experienced the effects of crossed GroundBridges firsthand in "[[Shadowzone (episode)|Shadowzone]]".
* Bumblebee gets his voice back in this episode. His voicebox was destroyed in the events of Tyger Pax as explained in "[[Operation Bumblebee, Part 1]]" and the novel, ''[[Transformers: Exodus]]''. His voicebox, as well as his wounds, were restored through the energy field generated by the Omega Lock. It is rather fitting that he delivers the final blow to Megatron.
* Miko previously used the Apex Armor in "[[Chain of Command (Prime)|Chain of Command]]".
* The Star Saber was previously seen in the Decepticon vault in "[[Prey (episode)|Prey]]". Despite not making a note of it then, that fact did not escape Smokescreen's notice.
* Ultra Magnus refers to Soundwave's combat GroundBridging as a "relocation trick", which he had used on Arcee in "[[Orion Pax, Part 1]]", a Predacon bone fragment in "[[Project Predacon]]", and [[Airachnid (Prime)|Airachnid]] and her [[Insecticon (Prime)|Insecticons]] in "[[Thirst]]".
* Soundwave isn't the only [[Skyquake (Prime)|Decepticon who is trapped in the Shadowzone]].
* The Autobots fire the Omega Lock into the Well of All Sparks, last seen in flashback in "[[One Shall Rise, Part 1]]".
* Predaking is revealed to have survived Megatron's attack from the previous episode.
* The [[Immobilizer]] is seen in a stasis field in the vault, thus accounting for all the Iacon relics left on Cybertron last season.
* Wheeljack takes the lobbing ball with him to Cybertron. It was last seen in "Project Predacon".
*This is the second time Knock Out [[Orion Pax, Part 1|has mentioned]] being on the winning team.

===Real-world references===
* Raf refers to opening conflicting Space Bridge portals as 'crossing the streams', a term from ''Ghostbusters'' for a method of last resort with potentially devastating consequences. The same term was used the first time this happened.

===Trivia===
* Just before Megatron retrieves the Dark Star Saber from the Omega Lock to use its wave attack to push Optimus off the side, it emits a sound very similar to the original [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber sword whenever it was activated]].
* Ratchet kept saying that he wanted to go back to Cybertron, and that he wouldn't forgive Optimus for leaving him on a planet with humans. Evidently, he has grown used to them, and stays behind anyway, claiming that he's needed in Unit:E. Though he may have grown attached to Earth, and humans, his technical skills would likely be of more use in rebuilding Cybertron.
* While the limited cybermatter created to cyberform Earth was enough to restore Cybertron's core, the surface is still in ruins. Ratchet predicted this much would happen in the previous season, even though he was technically wrong at the time. The original Omega Lock could have restored both the surface and the core..
* Bumblebee was wearing a battle mask over his mouth for the whole series, which is revealed when he retracts it upon discovering he can speak again.
* Soundwave has his Spacebridge trump card used against him (at last).
* Between solicitations for upcoming issues of the ''[[Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters (comic)|Beast Hunters'' comic]] (which revealed that Cybertron would be restored), the press release for the ''[[Predacons Rising (Prime)|Predacons Rising]]'' movie (which revealed that Megatron was going to die) and a clip shown at the ''Prime'' panel at the San Diego Comic Con and later released online (which revealed that Bumblebee would regain his voice), a well-informed Transfan had pretty much ''every'' surprise of this episode spoiled ''by official sources'' well in advance of its airing. Boo.
'''Bumblebee discovers that MECH and Starscream are responsible for his troubles; Ratchet confronts demons from his Cybertronian past.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Image:OperationBumblebee2 Starscream MECH find Energon.jpg|thumb|left|250px|How much of this does Starscream get?]]
With [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]] on a medical bed, [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] tells [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] off for taking the scout into battle. When Bumblebee comes around, he faces Ratchet's ire as well, and [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] grounds Bumblebee until his [[transformation cog|T-cog]] can be recovered. Ratchet has another idea though—he offers to donate his own T-cog in a transplant. Though Optimus is uncertain, Ratchet convinces him.

[[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] is pleased with the new device [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]] has secured—a [[force field]] generator—although Megatron's demonstration leaves him startled.

Elsewhere, [[Starscream (WFC)|Starscream]] and [[Silas]] find an [[energon]] deposit, though Silas would appreciate it if Starscream didn't talk so much.

Ratchet selects [[Arcee (WFC)|Arcee]] to do the operation, though she's less than enthusiastic. She starts by putting Ratchet in induced [[stasis lock|stasis]], but before she can do the same for Bumblebee, an alarm signals the appearance of another relic from the [[Vaults]] of [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]]. Optimus calls a halt to the operation so he, Arcee and [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] can investigate. No sooner have they left than [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]] contacts the base. He's disappointed only Bumblebee's there to take his call, but passes on the news that he's got the possible coordinates of a [[MECH]] base. Unable to understand Bumblebee, he searches for someone who speaks English, but Ratchet is barely coherent, still recovering from stasis. [[Jack Darby|Jack]] volunteers to pass the message on.

[[Image:OperationBumblebee2 Breakdown Knockout find Forge.jpg|thumb|right|250px|Chipping away with my hammer, to bring Megatron a hammer with the power to make more hammers.]]
Optimus and his team reach the top of a mountain to find Knock Out and [[Breakdown (WFC)|Breakdown]] uncovering the [[Forge of Solus Prime]]. With it, the Autobots could conceivably create a new T-cog for Bumblebee.

MECH infuses the newly-found energon into their creation, but as it begins to stir, Bumblebee bursts through the door. Though unarmed, Bumblebee throws an industrial-sized barrel at Starscream, knocking him flat, and proceeds to shrug off the weapons fire from the MECH goons.

As Knock Out and Breakdown free the forge, the Autobots charge them. While Bulkhead tackles Breakdown, Optimus and Arcee find they have a bit of a problem getting past Knock Out's shield generator, and he pushes them back towards the edge of the cliff.

Bumblebee knocks a bunch of MECH troopers flat, jumps on their robot and tears his T-cog from its innards. No sooner is this done than he's hit by a blast from Starscream. As MECH withdraw, Starscream grabs the T-cog and threatens to destroy it.

[[Image:OperationBumblebee2 Starscream threatens T-cog.jpg|thumb|left|250px|Look at your T-cog, now back to me...]]
Ratchet recovers, only to find Fowler shouting at him about MECH coordinates, and the kids reveal Bumblebee has gone to deal with it.

Meanwhile, Bumblebee has had enough of Starscream's gloating and belts the ex-Decepticon, knocking him flat. As the T-cog flies up into the air, Bumblebee jumps for it, but a quick blast by Starscream spells the end of that attempt. While Starscream leaves, Bumblebee is left with his shattered T-cog. Starscream meets up with MECH outside the compound, but Silas is less than impressed with him for losing the T-cog, and Starscream is soon surrounded by MECH troops.

Optimus and Arcee are forced back to the cliff edge. While Breakdown is distracted by their predicament, Bulkhead takes the opportunity to grab the Forge of Solus Prime and smack the Decepticon with it. Breakdown lands on Knock Out and for a few moments Bulkhead stands triumphant, at least until Megatron steps out of the [[GroundBridge]] and blasts him. Collecting the Forge, the Decepticons leave. Ratchet reports the situation with MECH to Optimus.

[[Image:OperationBumblebee2 Bumblebee damaged T-cog.jpg|thumb|right|250px|My Precious...]]
Starscream comes around to find MECH gone. When he sees Optimus's team arrive at the MECH base, he tries to transform, only to find his T-cog had been taken, and runs off panicking into the woods. Meanwhile, Bumblebee walks out to join his comrades, sadly holding his own damaged T-cog. Optimus radios Ratchet to prepare for surgery.

On the ''[[Trypticon (WFC)|Nemesis]]'', Megatron attempts to use the Forge, only to discover that it requires the power of a [[Prime (rank)|Prime]] to work. Despite this hitch, the warlord takes comfort in the knowledge that the Forge is safely away from the hands of the Autobots - and more specifically, Optimus Prime.

Ratchet finishes operating, restoring Bumblebee's old cog. Though Bumblebee's first few attempts to transform fail, he eventually manages it, and takes Raf for a drive. Ratchet, for his part, seems happy that it worked.
==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
*Once again, Starscream's eyes are completely red for the first half of the episode. It's only after Bumblebee hits him with a barrel that they are only red circles. Maybe hitting him with a heavy object is the key to making them normal.
*After the Autobots pass through the GroundBridge to MECH's headquarters in search of Bumblebee, Optimus had his battle mask drawn. When the camera pans to show Starscream behind them, his mask retracts silently, and almost invisibly.

===Continuity errors===
*In the previous episode, the [[MECH Surgeon]] is shown to be able to lift (and run with) Bumblebee's T-cog without much difficulty. Silas tells Starscream to bring it with him, instead of just picking it up and taking it himself; he's even standing right in front of it.

===Continuity notes===
*Once more, Starscream mentions being the one to "offline" [[Cliffjumper (WFC)|Cliffjumper]].
* When Agent Fowler relays the information on MECH's whereabouts to Bumblebee, he says it really slowly and condescendingly, as if he believes Bumblebee has trouble understanding English, rather than just being mute. Fowler's kind of a jerk. Or just ignorant.
* During the fight in the hangar, Bumblebee punches several MECH soldiers, sending them flying through the air. Silas survived this, so it stands to reason everyone else did, too. Cartoons, everybody! (A soldier didn't crack the prototype's lens; that was his rifle.)
* It seems that the Cybertronians of this continuity are incapable of self-propelled flight outside a flight-capable alternate mode. This is in stark contrast to previous continuities. Especially ones in which even Cybertronians who ''didn't'' have flight-capable vehicle modes were regularly capable of self-propelled flight through air and the vacuum of space.
* [[Solus Prime]] is the fourth member of the Original Thirteen to actually be named on television (the others were [[Alpha Trion (WFC)|Alpha Trion]], [[Vector Prime]], and [[The Fallen]], respectively).
* This is only the [[One Shall Fall|second episode]] that Rachet laughs in.
* When Bumblebee and Starscream attempt to transform without their T-cogs, the classic transformation sound can be heard
'''Bumblebee discovers that MECH and Starscream are responsible for his troubles; Ratchet confronts demons from his Cybertronian past.'''

==Synopsis==

'''While Optimus and Arcee are trapped in the Arctic, the base is invaded by deadly Scraplets.'''

==Synopsis==
Trudging through the [[Arctic]], [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] and [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]] locate a huge pod buried in the snow. They take it back to [[Autobot Outpost Omega One|base]], where their systems are checked over by [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]]. [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus]] asks about the pod, but Ratchet says it can't be opened while it's still frozen. Even as it sits defrosting in another part of the base, the pod cracks open from the inside.

[[Image:Scrapheap-adorableScraplet.jpg|left|thumb|200px|Leprosy was never this adorable. As far as we know.]]

Optimus and [[Arcee (WFC)|Arcee]] prepare to travel to the Arctic to look for more clues regarding the pod's origins, and Ratchet gives them some temperature sensors so they can tell when their core temperatures drop to dangerous levels. The kids arrive in time to see them off, and [[Jack Darby|Jack]]'s initially keen on going with them, until he finds out where they're headed. [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]]'s still interested in seeing some snow, but Optimus says the conditions are too harsh. No sooner have Prime and Arcee stepped through the [[GroundBridge]] than the ground bridge system goes down. While the Autobots start trying to repair it, Jack and [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] start playing [[Generic racing game|video games]], and Raf wanders off. He's playing "being in the Arctic" in a corridor when he stumbles on a tiny, cute metal critter. He plays Fetch with it using a bolt...which it promptly eats. Happy with his new pet, he heads back to the control room, unaware that there's a sparking hole in the equipment behind him.

Ratchet's just dug out a GroundBridge component damaged by bite-marks, when Raf returns with his find. The Autobots react in terror to the tiny critter. The kids are surprised at the reaction to what the Autobots are calling a [[Scraplet]], but then the creature starts chowing down on Bumblebee, and Raf has to beat it to death with a crowbar. Ratchet's suspicions as to the Scraplet's origin are confirmed when they check the Arctic pod and find it's been broken open — thousands of Scraplets now infest the base.

In the Arctic, Optimus and Arcee find their core temperatures have dropped into the danger zone, but Optimus is unable to contact base to request use of the ground bridge.

[[Image:Scrapheap-Ratchetinfected.jpg|right|thumb|250px|[[wikipedia:Botfly|Ro-botflies]]]]

Ratchet discovers that the Scraplets have now broken the comm system. Bulkhead and Bumblebee are in favor of bugging out, but doing so will mean certain doom for Optimus and Arcee. After hearing Bulkhead's detailed description of what Scraplets can do to a 'bot, the kids volunteer to help. Since the Scraplets aren't interested in eating them, they pair off with the three Autobots, Jack helping Ratchet repair the ground bridge while the others hunt for the Scraplets. Miko and Bulkhead explore the corridors where Raf saw the first Scraplet, and after an embarrassingly girly scream and an encounter with a bunch of overhead cables, Bulkhead is set upon by the little monsters. Elsewhere, Raf and Bumblebee likewise run into a group of the things. Ratchet has meanwhile finished repairing the ground bridge, but it still refuses to function. As he investigates further, a swarm of Scraplets enter the main control room via a vent and begin flying overhead. They attack the terrified Ratchet, but Jack uses a nearby [[fire extinguisher]] to freeze them off. There are many more of the pests flying overhead, however, and as the others return from their search, the Scraplets attack and easily overwhelm the Autobots.

[[Image:Scrapheap-huddleforwarmth.jpg|left|thumb|300px|And not a tauntaun for miles.]]

While Arcee and Optimus try to keep themselves conscious and functional by talking, the kids manage to eliminate the Scraplets attacking their friends. However, from the sounds elsewhere in the base, it's clear there are many more lurking about. They come up with a plan to send the Scraplets to the Arctic by getting the ground bridge working, and Ratchet works out there must be an [[energon]] fuel line breach preventing the system from starting. The three kids take a tool kit and go to fix the breach. They're just finishing when the Scraplets decide it's time for lunch and break into the main control room, again attacking the Autobots.

Back in the Arctic, Arcee bemoans the frozen death that apparently awaits her and Optimus, especially after all they've survived so far. Optimus offers what words of philosophical comfort he can, and she says it's an honour to serve with him.

At the base, the kids rush back to the command room and let Ratchet know that the GroundBridge is back online. He opens the bridge to the Arctic before collapsing, and Bulkhead acts as bait, leading the Scraplets through. He arrives in the Arctic to see Optimus and Arcee staggering towards the bridge, and the Scraplet horde bursts through behind him. Optimus braces for attack, but the Scraplets rapidly freeze in the air and bounce harmlessly off him.

Back at base, Ratchet supervises repairs on Bumblebee and Bulkhead. He and Optimus pay tribute to the strength of their human allies, but just then Miko spots a spider and runs away screaming.
==Quotes==
"The Arctic? I've always wanted to see snow."<br>
"I would invite you to join, Rafael, but the conditions are much too extreme, even for we Autobots."<br>
"I understand..."<br>
"But I will bring you back a snowball."
:—'''Raf''' is snow deprived and '''Optimus''' says things you would not expect a giant alien robot to say.

"If we don't eradicate these creatures immediately, they will reduce the entire base to a scrapheap!"<br>
"Well, I say we bug outta here and let 'em keep it!"<br>
''(Bumblebee buzzes in agreement)''
:—'''Bulkhead''' reminds '''Ratchet''' that there are times when you just run.

"Bulkhead, you ''never'' run!"<br>
"Miko, you haven't seen a swarm of these things devour a bot. I ''have''. They pick you apart from the inside out, going for the small, juicy bits first—fuse by fuse, circuit by circuit, 'til there's nothing left, and I mean ''nothing''...not even your optics."
:—'''Miko''' gets some nightmare fuel from '''Bulkhead'''.

"I get to be your bodyguard for once. How cool is that?!"<br>
"Raf found the first one here, right?"<br>
''(the lights turn off for a second and Bulkhead screams loudly)''<br>
"Did you just scream like a little girl?"<br>
"No! ... Maybe. ... Can we talk about this later?"
:—'''Miko''' and '''Bulkhead''' searching, and a more hilarious reversal of roles cannot be found.

"What do you suggest? Wait. How about a game? Let's play 'Who Screwed Things Up Back at Base?'"<br>
"Our predicament could be the result of a simple malfunction."<br>
"Caused by Bulkhead."
:—'''Arcee''' and '''Optimus''' prove that when things go wrong, blame it on Bulkhead.

"Bulkhead may be...too large for this world, but his inner strength is without bounds. One should not be measured by size alone."
:—'''Optimus''' gives us a life lesson while finding a nice way to call Bulkhead fat.

"You know the worst part? After battling 'Cons all these years, smacked down, shot at, blown up, this is how our lights go out?"<br>
"Arcee, this may not be the finish that we had planned, but if this is indeed the end, if we are to be come one with the [[Allspark]]..."<br>
"It's been an honor serving with you, Optimus Prime".<br>
:—'''Optimus''' and '''Arcee''' prepare to accept their supposed end. [[Thirst|Hey, look! (Almost all) These words repeated again!]]

"Ready for the main course? Come and get it!"
:—'''Bulkhead''', king of one-liners.

"I'd invite you in, but the place is a mess."
:—Seriously, give '''Bulkhead''' a crown.

"We're just fortunate that this infestation happened...on a Saturday."
:—'''Ratchet''' finds there's an upside to having human companions.

(''Miko screams loudly'')<br>
"Scraplet?!"<br>
"Spider! Is it on me?!" (''Miko runs away screaming'')<br>
"Did she just scream like a little girl?"<br>
:—'''Jack''' and '''Bulkhead''' learn that even '''Miko''' has her fears.

===Animation errors===
*After Ratchet tries to communicate with Optimus and turns to look at the rest of the Autobots, the white part of his shoulder plate seems to slightly go through his chest.

===Continuity errors===
*When Jack, Miko and Raf reach the damaged energon fuel line, the breach on the duct is shown beneath, where the energon is seen dripping. When the kids seal the duct, they are shown doing so only on its side.

===Transformers references===
*To everyone's surprise, these Scraplets behave similar to their [[Scraplet|namesakes]], but are closer in appearance to [[Mecannibal]]s.
*At the episode's conclusion, Bumblebee is hooked up to an "[[electropulse]]" monitor, a feature of Transformer biology that got its first and only previous mention waaaay back in the [[The Transformers (cartoon)|Generation 1]] cartoon episode, "[[Divide and Conquer]]", when [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] declared his to be fading.
*Arcee mentions Bulkhead running into power lines shortly after arriving on Earth, which recalls a different [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]]'s [[Transformers (film)|"tingly" encounter]].

===Real-world references===
===Trivia===
*A sequence from this episode (from the start of Miko and Bulkhead exploring up to Bulkhead's arm thrusting into the air) was shown to the attendees of [[Toy Fair 2011]] prior to the episode's premiere.
*Miko's hair moves during this episode. When Bulkhead first screams, the shadow of her twin buns can be seen jumping up. After, when she screams thinking she saw a spider, the buns ''and'' her ponytail curl up.
*Raf never did get that snowball. Guess Optimus was too busy dying to scoop some up.
*This is the first, and so far only, episode which doesn't feature the [[Decepticon]]s.
*It is not an error that the Autobots can freeze in the [[Arctic]] but not in space. The idea that being in space will immediately freeze you up like a popsicle is a [http://www.universetoday.com/77070/how-cold-is-space/ lie perpetuated by bad science fiction]. This isn't the [[Fire in the Sky|first time]] [[Megatron (Movie)|it's happened]].
*Bulkhead [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|is not the only Autobot]] with a "girlish scream".
**When he screamed, his eyes briefly widened. You could see it clearly when the lights went out.
* The entire plot of this episode is very similar to an episode from Prime's fellow [[Hasbro]]-sponsored show, ''[[My Little Pony]]: Friendship is Magic,'' namely the episode ''Swarm of the Century''. Both episodes revolved around a character bringing in an innocuous-looking creature that proceeded to rapidly multiply and cause havoc by devouring various things, and the characters themselves trying (and failing) to remove the threat. However, fitting the difference in tone between the two series, Scraplets are significantly more dangerous than Parasprites; they pose a direct threat to the heroes themselves, it takes more than a jaunty polka tune to deal with them, and they're a fair bit less cute (at least, when they open their mouths). Both plots are likely based off the episode of ''[[Star Trek]]'', ''The Trouble With Tribbles''.
*This episode was later adapted as a storybook under the name ''[[Attack of the Scraplets!]]''.
'''Megatron's attempt to repair the ''Nemesis'' has an unexpected side effect, forcing Raf, Jack, and Miko to put themselves in harm's way.'''

==Synopsis==
With the ''[[Trypticon (WFC)|Nemesis]]'' down, [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] discovers that [[Bulkhead (Prime)|an Autobot]] was responsible for the crash. Despite [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]]'s protests, Megatron infuses [[Dark Energon]] into the ship's power core, hoping its regenerative effects will cut down on the lengthy time it would take to get the ship airworthy. Meanwhile, the [[Autobot]]s feel this might well be the time to strike. [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] reluctantly decides to use the [[spark extractor|Spark Extractor]] to terminate the Decepticons for good.

The Dark Energon infusion of the ''Nemesis'' works perfectly, bringing the ship to full operational status in minutes. The energy is detected by the Autobots, who immediately set out with [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]]. They arrive to find the 'Con warship already airborne, and it begins firing on them. The Autobots attempt to get close enough to use the Spark Extractor, but the ship hits them one by one with a [[Stasis Beam|stasis beam]], which a surprised Knock Out notes the ship was not previously equipped with, sending them into [[stasis lock]]. [[Image:Optimus Flying Mind.jpg|thumb|left|200px|Optimus is the ''best'' at freeze tag.]] Megatron is pleased at being able to get the Spark Extractor back, but when he orders the ship to move closer, it abruptly changes course, and it is quickly discovered that the ''Nemesis'' is ignoring its pilots and flying ''itself''. When Megatron demands the ship's computer be overridden, the [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicon]] at the helm is electrocuted. The ship suddenly speaks up with its own voice, announcing it is in charge and on a mission. Knock Out notes its decoding the [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]] database. Furious, Megatron demands they retake control, but when [[Soundwave (WFC)|Soundwave]] attempts to do so, the ship retaliates and he's sent into stasis lock. When Megatron orders the Decepticons to sever all connections to the ship's mainframe, beams of energy sweep through the ship, disabling almost every last one of the 'Cons.

Back at base, Fowler notes that the ''Nemesis'' is heading towards North America, with its cloaking field down, no less, and the decision is made to try and contact Megatron to see what's up. On the warship, Knock Out is put into stasis lock while checking on the Iacon data, and Megatron attempts to disable the ship's power core, only to be put in stasis lock as well. When Ratchet contacts the ''Nemesis'', the ship responds and helpfully lets them know its mission is to find the missing Iacon artifacts of Decepticon origin. [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] and the humans believe it's the opportune moment to download a copy of the Iacon database, so Fowler and the kids [[GroundBridge]] on board the ship, determining that the ship cannot detect humans, as it left Fowler unmolested while leaving the battle earlier. They find the [[Project Iacon]] console, and clambering up Knock Out, plug in the [[transfer drive]] Ratchet gave them. [[Jack Darby|Jack]] notices the ship is heading for [[New York City|Manhattan]], the location of the first artifact, and if they don't stop it somehow, the ''Nemesis'' will destroy whatever part of the city lies atop the long-buried relic. While trying to change the ship's course, Fowler is electrically shocked into unconsciousness, but the ship, still scanning for Cybertronian-based life forms, is unable to detect the kids.
[[Image:Megatron flying mind.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Bob Dole doesn't need this...]]

Though Ratchet wants to bridge the kids back, Jack realizes they have to do something now, and head to the ship's power core, hoping to de-activate the ''Nemesis''' intelligence by dumping the dark energon out of the fuel supply. There they find the frozen Megatron, and Jack discovers that the manually-operated fuel injection valve is locked in place by Megatron's frozen hand. While he's still trying, the ship finally detects [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] and [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]], assuming them to be vermin that are infesting it. As a manipulator arm starts chasing them, they hide among the [[energon cube]]s, but the arm moves the containers aside, eventually exposing them. Jack manages to attract its attention and trick it into hitting Megatron. The Decepticon leader topples over, dragging the lever down and reversing the [[energon]] flow. [[Image:Lower Manhattan Flying Mind.jpg|thumb|left|200px|Man, why can't the aliens attack Jersey for a change?]] Though the ship tries to use the manipulator arm to move the lever back, it's not fast enough to do so before its intelligence is lost. As the ship "shifts into neutral", the stasis locked Transformers inexplicably begin recovering, and the kids make all haste back through the corridors. While Miko and Raf help a still-loopy Fowler through the Ground Bridge, Jack goes after the transfer drive, but he's still struggling with it as Knock Out comes back online. Jack's saved from an untimely end when Ratchet appears through the GroundBridge and clobbers Knock Out, taking Jack and the transfer drive with him, just in time to miss the arrival of Megatron, who is rather unhappy with Knock Out.

Ratchet gives the now-recovered Optimus the good news about the data they retrieved, but they realize they must act quickly, as Megatron has no more scruples than his ship about harming human life, and the ''Nemesis'' is even now bearing down on Manhattan...

==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
*When Jack realizes that the ''Nemesis'' will have to tear down Manhattan to get to the first Iacon relic, the camera zooms out to show all four, including Fowler and Rafael on the control panel. However Knock Out, who should be frozen right behind the two on the control panel, is nowhere to be seen.

===Continuity errors===
* In the previous episode, Bulkhead drove from the ''Nemesis'' crash site back to base rather than use the GroundBridge, suggesting the crash occurred not far away, or at the very least, on the same continent. In this episode, Fowler says the ''Nemesis'' is crossing the Atlantic Ocean and heading for North America.
* How does Jack on the ''Nemesis'' talk to Rachet back at base without a cell phone? He appears to be using an earpiece, but there's no indication that he received one. Agent Fowler appears to do the same, earlier on.
* When stasis-locked Megatron gets knocked over, his hand, still clutching the release lever, opens to allow him to fall all the way down. The rest of him stays completely stiff even upon hitting the ground.
* In the base, Ratchet is seen looking at one of the monitors. It appears he is looking at the vitals of each human. How is this possible, unless they all decided to become Cybertronian in the episode.

===Continuity notes===
* The Insecticons joining the Decepticons, Bulkhead's damage to the ''Nemesis'' power core and the ship's crash all took place in the [[Armada (episode)|previous episode]].
* Megatron makes note of Optimus's increasing ruthlessness and how he would no longer waste a chance to strike, likely referring to his near-termination by Optimus in "[[Crossfire]]".
* The Decepticons found their Dark Energon supply back in "[[One Shall Rise, Part 1]]", but it hasn't seen much use since the [[Unicron#Prime cartoon|Unicron]] revelation.
* Soundwave has been trying to decrypt the Iacon database since Optimus Prime recovered his memory in "[[Orion Pax, Part 3]]", and has apparently made very little progress.
* Though the ''Nemesis'' is established in ''[[Transformers: Exiles]]'' to be a stasis-locked [[Trypticon (WFC)|Trypticon]], its identity is left unstated here, as it does not refer to itself by name.
* The Autobots attempt to use the [[spark extractor]], which they acquired in "[[Operation Bumblebee, Part 1]]".
* This is the first time Knock Out has used his drill weapon since [[Deus ex Machina|his premiere episode]].

===Transformers references===

===Real-world references===
* The Nemesis's stasis beam uses the same sound effect of the Zat'ni'katel or Zat Gun from ''Stargate SG-1''.
* Miko's "On your feet, soldier" is a reference to the 1984 film, ''The Terminator''.
* Miko refers to Knock Out as "Doc Knock," most likely in reference to "Doc Ock," a common nickname of [[Spider-Man]] villain Doctor Octopus.
* The ship gaining sentience, turning on the crew, and its defeat all bear similarities to HAL 9000 from the film, ''2001: A Space Odyssey''.
* The grid design that immobilises Dreadwing and the Vehicons is similar to the laser hallways from ''Resident Evil''.
===Trivia===
* The ''Nemesis''' voice is listed only as "Warship" in this episode's credits.
* It seems the amount of power required to stasis lock a Transformer isn't enough to kill a human, as the ship was unaware carbon-based life forms were aboard when Fowler was electrocuted, and was presumably trying the same trick it used on Soundwave.
'''A key Decepticon arrives on Earth while Wheeljack manages a small victory.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] and [[Starscream (WFC)|Starscream]] are both surprised to see [[Shockwave (WFC)|Shockwave]], having believed him dead. Shockwave explains that after his battle with [[Arcee (WFC)|Arcee]] and [[Cliffjumper (WFC)|Cliffjumper]] in the [[space bridge]], he found himself marooned on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. After repairing himself, he continued his experiments until an energy surge led him to [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]]'s team in the [[Rust Sea|Sea of Rust]]. He asks Starscream pointedly why he was left for dead, and judges the response logical enough. Megatron appoints Shockwave first lieutenant in charge of science, something Starscream doesn't seem that happy with.

[[File:Scattered-Bigfoot.jpg|left|thumb|300px|Unlike [[Bigfoot]], Ratchet is actually findable.]]

[[Jack Darby|Jack]] and Arcee stop at a deserted farmhouse for a break and Jack worries that they're all that's left of Team Prime. Arcee says there are other Autobots out there who escaped in the [[Ark (WFC)|Ark]], but who knows where they are? Meanwhile [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]] is surfing [[Internet|conspiracy websites]] in search of [[Autobot]] sightings. He hits dirt in the form of a photo of [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] in a junkyard outside Woodland Park. Starscream, doing likewise, finds the same picture, but before he can draw the other Decepticons' attention to it, Raf replaces the picture with a dancing monkey. To quell Megatron's displeasure, Shockwave suggests using a [[cortical psychic patch]] on [[Wheeljack (Prime)|Wheeljack]]. Meanwhile, [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] and [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] are waiting fruitlessly at the Wrecker meeting spot.

[[File:Scattered-Ultra Magnus.jpg|right|thumb|300px|"Hey, who's that?"]]

Shockwave reports that the patch didn't yield any new information. Starscream announces he'll see to Wheeljack's termination, and soon Wheeljack is standing on a platform over lava. The attendant [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicon]]s push Wheeljack towards the edge, but he grabs one of them and throws it off before jumping himself. The Vehicon transforms to flight mode, and Wheeljack lands on its back, proceeding to go on a Vehicon-trashing flight before driving off. Megatron is very upset until Starscream reveals he's planted a tracking device on Wheeljack so the Autobot can lead them to his friends.

Bumblebee and Raf reach the junkyard to find Ratchet sitting in vehicle mode and sporting the surliest mood as the Autobots have patently lost. The pair suggest that they can use the ''Harbinger''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s resources to fight back, but Ratchet has no hope they can do anything, and tells them to leave him alone.

Meanwhile, [[Smokescreen (Prime)|Smokescreen]] has been unable to salvage anything medical from the ruins of the base. When [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus]] asks about the [[Forge of Solus Prime]], Smokescreen reasons it must be in the fortress somewhere, and goes to look.

[[File:Scattered-loomingshadow.jpg|left|thumb|300px|So big he's got his own zipcode.]]

Bulkhead and Miko's waiting is finally rewarded by the arrival of Wheeljack. The Decepticons, monitoring Starscream's bug, see that their plan has paid off, and Starscream sends out his Vehicon seekers. The Decepticons arrive at a river, but all they see is a log floating downstream. The log turns out to have both the tracking device and a grenade attached, the latter of which takes them all out. Watching from a nearby hill, Wheeljack reveals how he found the tracking device, and says he has some more explosives.

Raf and Bumblebee try unsuccessfully to power up the ''Harbinger'', only to be pleasantly surprised when Ratchet arrives to help. Elsewhere, Jack and Arcee's journey is interrupted by the surprise arrival of a [[Ultra Magnus's ship|starship]]. It lands in front of them and out steps none other than [[Ultra Magnus (WFC)|Ultra Magnus]].

On the ''Nemesis'', Megatron rages over Starscream's failure, but Shockwave reveals he has a wild card of his own, sitting in his lab on Cybertron. Taking a trip back to their home planet, Shockwave returns through the space bridge with the huge creature he has cloned—a [[Predacon (Prime)|Predacon]].
===Animation and technical errors===
*As in the previous episode, Wheeljack is perfectly clean despite being pulled from the wreckage of his ship relatively disheveled and somewhat damaged. He does retain the scars on his chest, but these don't carry over to his vehicle mode.
*As Arcee chats with Jack about other Autobots who left Cybertron, the wings on her back are missing in one shot (see the main image). Later on, Bumblebee is missing one of his wings when he and Raf try to talk to Ratchet.

===Continuity notes===
*Shockwave's battle with Arcee and Cliffjumper took place in "[[Out of the Past]]".
*Starscream brings up the fact that he offlined Cliffjumper, yet again.
*The photo Raf uses to replace Ratchet's is the same one he used in "[[New Recruit]]".
===Trivia===
*The worldwide premiere screening of the first three episodes was held at the Globe Theater in Universal Studios Hollywood on [[March 14]].
*The worldwide television premiere of "Scattered" was a day later on okto, a Singaporean channel, where it aired back-to-back with "[[Darkmount, NV]]" and "[[Prey (episode)|Prey]]".
*Raf is an ''amazing'' hacker. He not only replaced the image file of Ratchet where it was found on the internet, he ''also'' somehow managed to change the already uploaded image on Starscream's open browser window.
*It takes Ratchet mere seconds to deduce that Starscream was using the ''Harbinger'' as a base of operations back when he was an independent agent. Surely this would have been useful when [[Triangulation|he stole the Apex Armor]], the [[New Recruit|red energon]], or the [[Inside Job|Omega Keys]]. Ah, hindsight.
*By the same token, it seems odd that Starscream simply abandoned the ''Harbinger'', rather than have the Decepticons occupy it upon his return. He is aware that the Autobots know of its location, and it's the only available source of Cybertronian technology on the planet for them to make use of now that their base has been destroyed. This would be addressed in "[[Rebellion (Prime)|Rebellion]]", when Soundwave brought it up.
*Knock Out is now the [[Ratchet (WFC)|third]] [[Starscream (WFC)|Cybertronian]] to be amused by human humor.
*Cybertronians apparently need to stretch.
*Starscream seems to be ''terrified'' of Shockwave.
'''Ratchet 'finalizes' the synthetic energon formula and uses himself as a test subject, but it ends up having some negative side effects.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] checks out a sample of [[Synthetic Energon|synthetic energon]] he's created, watched by [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]]. Approving the stability of the energon, Ratchet tries it on a test engine, and it works fine. Raf's keen to try it on [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]], but Ratchet says it'll require more testing first. Meanwhile, the base sensors pick up [[energon]] movement, but before [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] gives the order to roll out, Ratchet warns him about the depleted state of their energon reserves. Once Prime's team departs, Ratchet has the idea to try the synthetic energon on himself. The injection causes him to lose consciousness, and Raf rouses him from lying on the floor shortly afterward. The synthetic energon appears to be a success, giving him more fuel efficiency and better motor functions.

[[Image:StrongerFaster-surrounded.jpg|left|thumb|300px|I need you to hurry up now, 'cause I can't wait much longer.]]

Meanwhile Prime's team chases [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]] and [[Breakdown (WFC)|Breakdown]] through an icy canyon. The Decepticons aren't in any hurry to bridge out, as they're trying to "help" the [[Autobot]]s run out of energon. Some [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicon]]s flying overhead blast the sheer sides of canyon, causing a rock fall that blocks off the Autobots' path. [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] manages to drive over it in her motorcycle mode, despite Prime's warnings, and races after the two Decepticons, only to be hit by missiles from the Vehicons. She is swiftly surrounded by Decepticons, and things look grim until Ratchet comes flying through the GroundBridge and begins laying into them with gusto. Knock Out and Breakdown assume that the Ratchet's a new Autobot, but are forced to retreat as Optimus, [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] and Bumblebee come into view, firing at them. Ratchet finishes off the last of the Vehicons, to stunned looks from his teammates.

Back at base, Ratchet reveals his secret to the other Autobots, but Optimus doesn't think it's a good idea to test the synthetic energon on Autobots, and he underlines the importance of Ratchet's job as medic. Some time later, Ratchet's retelling his fight to Bulkhead, and in demonstrating a move, manages to throw his fellow Autobot through a nearby wall. The other Autobots are startled at his new personality. Ratchet goes and injects more of the synthetic energon into himself. When the sensors light up once more, Prime prepares to roll out again, but Ratchet volunteers to go along.

[[Image:StrongerFaster-crouchbehindrock.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Work it make it do it makes us.]]

As they head through a mountainous area, Ratchet moves ninja-style at the front of the team. They soon find some Vehicons and a [[Decepticon Miner|miner]] drilling into a rock face, and Ratchet immediately moves in. When the miner makes a run for it, Ratchet gives chase and knocks him down with a well-thrown rock. The other Autobots find Ratchet forcibly interrogating the miner with his blowtorch. Optimus stops him from finishing off the prisoner and begins to lecture him on doing harm where none is necessary, but Ratchet is agitated, believing they should be more proactive. As the argument heats up, Ratchet even manages to antagonize Arcee by bringing up [[Cliffjumper (WFC)|Cliffjumper]], and calls Prime out for his many missed opportunities to kill [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]]. Prime decides to confine Ratchet to base. Though Ratchet appears to go calmly through the GroundBridge, moments later, he charges back out, flattening Bulkhead and racing off. Prime's team returns to base, but is unable to get a fix on Ratchet's signal.

In a Decepticon energon mine, Breakdown is chatting with a miner when Ratchet walks into the cavern. Elsewhere, Megatron shouts at Knock Out for not finding a new energon source, but they're interrupted by Ratchet dropping Breakdown on the floor. Megatron scoffs at the newcomer, until a punch from Ratchet sends him flying. However, Megatron is made of sterner stuff, and he gives Ratchet a savage injury, telling Knock Out to take a sample of the resultant leaking fluids so they can find out how Ratchet got so amped up.

[[Image:StrongerFaster-KnockOutMegatronRatchet.jpg|left|thumb|300px|That that that that that don't kill me, can only make me stronger.]]

On the bright side, as the synthetic energon drains out, Ratchet is rendered visible to the sensors in the [[Autobot Outpost Omega One|Autobot base]], and Optimus, Arcee and Bulkhead use the GroundBridge to attack the mine.

Knock Out completes taking his sample and moves in to finish Ratchet off with his circular saw. When the sound of approaching fighting distracts the Decepticon, Ratchet takes the opportunity to fight back, resulting in Knock Out's saw getting stuck in the wall. Ratchet promptly grabs the synthetic energon sample and smashes it. Knock Out is outraged, but once more has to retreat as the other Autobots arrive.

Ratchet is hooked up to a drip back at base, and he apologizes for his behavior. Optimus points out the new supply of energon they got from the mine, and Ratchet promises to do more testing on the synthetic stuff before using it on Autobots again. Optimus is just thankful they destroyed Knock Out's sample, unaware of the fact that back at the mine, Knock Out has found a single drop of synthetic energon.
==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
*After Arcee continues to chase down Knock Out and Breakdown, air-support arrives. However, when they shoot Arcee, Knock Out and Breakdown have vanished from in front of her. Furthermore, when the other Autobots finally climb over the rock pile to help Arcee, she is only a few yards from the pile, whereas she should be several miles away.
*During his first fight with the Vehicons, Ratchet slices the arm off one and throws it to the ground, where it stays. When Ratchet moves on to his next opponent, the arm simply blinks out of existence.
*Bumblebee is shown returning with the other Autobots despite staying at base to operate the GroundBridge.
*The sample of synthetic energon Knock Out was holding was only about half full, but when Ratchet picked it up, it was completely full.
*Just before destroying the cylinder of synthetic energon, Ratchet's wound is not shown to be leaking. Mere moments after he's hit the ground, another puddle of energon has formed beneath him.
*Breakdown is knocked out by Ratchet just before he engages Megatron. When the Autobots show up at the end, however, Breakdown has vanished and he isn't shown fleeing with Knock Out.
*During Ratchet's first fight with the Vehicons, his shoulder pads clip into him several times.

===Other errors===
*Ratchet jumps onto and leaps off of a tree branch which seems totally capable of supporting all the weight of an SUV landing on top of it with all that force, then leaping off. Not so much as a wood chip or crack to be seen - though it does creak audibly.
*When Ratchet first injects himself, he drops the glass cylinder and it shatters on the ground. Later, when Knock Out collects a sample of the synthetic energon in a nearly identical cylinder, and Ratchet kicks it out of his hands, the cylinder flies ''across the entire room'' and lands without breaking. Then Ratchet throws it against a rock wall in the same room and it breaks instantly.
*When Arcee is hurt, she obviously couldn't move her leg, but when she walks through the GroundBridge she is magically healed.
* Even though Optimus said they don't harm servant class, upon entering the decepticon mines, it would appear that he '''knocks the total mess out of a miner.''' He must really care about Ratchet.

===Continuity notes===
* The synthetic energon created in the episode is derived from the formula transcribed by Bulkhead in [[T.M.I.|the previous episode]].
* Ratchet's description of the Autobots having fought numerous battles recently is accompanied by flashbacks to various battles from the "[[Darkness Rising]]" five-part pilot among others, including "[[Operation: Breakdown]]" and "[[Partners]]".
* The engine Ratchet uses to test the synthetic energon is a larger version of the device Ratchet built for [[Jack Darby|Jack's]] science project in "[[Masters & Students]]". Thankfully, it doesn't flip out like Jack's did.
* Knock Out confuses Ratchet for a "new" Autobot. Which makes sense, since he hasn't encountered him before. Ratchet ''was'' with the other Autobots when they charged in to rescue Bulkhead from Starscream and Breakdown in "[[Operation: Breakdown]]", but it's entirely possible that Breakdown simply didn't see him, since he was focused on escaping and missing an eye at the time.

===Real-world references===
* Given that the plot centres on the idea of artificial enhancement, this episode's title is almost certainly a reference to the opening of the 1974 ''[[wikipedia:The Six Million Dollar Man|Six Million Dollar Man]]'' series, which promised a cybernetic secret agent who was "Better, stronger, faster."
** That said, there's also the possibility it could be a reference to the original [[Action Master]]s [[commercial/Generation 1#1990|commercial]], in which [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] described the new breed of Transformer as "Stronger, faster, more alive!"
** And we guess we wouldn't ''totally'' rule out the notion that it refers to ''[[Star Wars (franchise)|Star Wars]]'' director/producer [[George Lucas]]'s desire for his actors to be "Stronger, faster— more intense!", or Daft Punk's 2009 [[Wikipedia:Grammy|Grammy]] winning song ''Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger''.
* It's also the same plot as about a billion after-school specials on the dangers of drugs.
* Ratchet referred to himself as Megatron's "[[Doctor Doom|Doctor of Doom]]." This goes without saying.
* Ratchet dabbling with a green liquid 'enhancement' is reminiscent of his voice actor, [[Jeffrey Combs]] in ''Re-Animator''.
* Ratchet's short-lived new catchphrase, "hooah", is the battle cry/general term of acknowledgement of the [[United States Army]].
* The training room scene in which Ratchet throws Bulkhead through a wall looks an awful lot like the old Kool-Aid commercials.
'''The Autobots question a captured enemy for information regarding Megatron's plans.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Shockwave (WFC)|Shockwave]] explains to [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] that the combination of elements in the Cyber Matter that was accidentally created in his lab would allow them to [[Eco-structuring|cyberform]] entire planets. [[Starscream (WFC)|Starscream]] mocks what sounds like another "Shockwave plan", until Shockwave grabs him with an angry reminder about how Starscream recently left him to the mercy of the [[Autobot]]s. Megatron does not object as Shockwave forces Starscream's face closer and closer to a jagged protrusion of Cyber Matter. Scrambling for a defense, Starscream notes that his actions made their current situation possible. Shockwave accepts the logic of this and lets Starscream go. Without missing a beat, Megatron asks Shockwave why the Cyber Matter appears so chaotic, and the scientist pledges to correct the instability of the elements. Megatron notes that they will require a launch mechanism from which to use the Cyber Matter, and declares that they will focus their resources on reconstructing the [[Omega Lock]].

At the Autobot base, [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] finishes his repair of [[Ultra Magnus (WFC)|Ultra Magnus]]' mangled right hand. Due to a lack of equipment and spare parts, the repair consists of an unsightly hook appendage that Ratchet says will be functional, but potentially unfit for battle. [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] tries to assure [[Wheeljack (Prime)|Wheeljack]] that Ultra Magnus will overcome this setback. [[Smokescreen (Prime)|Smokescreen]] bets that the hook will become Magnus' signature, making a comparison to [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]]'s [[voice box]] that the scout doesn't appreciate. Bumblebee buzzes angrily and storms off. [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]] explains to [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] and [[Jack Darby|Jack]] that Bumblebee still misses the sound of his old voice. [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] tries to lighten the mood by focusing on the defeat of the [[Predacon (Prime)|Predacon]] cloning project, but [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] reminds them all of [[Predaking (Prime)|the Predacon that got away]].

Aboard the ''[[Trypticon (WFC)|Nemesis]]'', Megatron tells Predaking that they will soon punish the Autobots for destroying his brethren. Predaking vows that revenge will come, but that Project Predacon was only ever a starting point. He says that if Megatron truly wishes to restore [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], this should include resurrecting the entire Predacon race from the remains that lie there, so that Predaking can lead them against their shared enemies. Megatron regards this request with skepticism.

Shockwave reports that they've salvaged the wreckage of the Omega Lock, but that the damage was severe, and Earth technology will be needed to retrofit its systems. Megatron orders Starscream to acquire whatever materials Shockwave requires.

The next day, [[William Fowler|Fowler]] reports that [[Decepticon]]s stole twenty tons of control rods from a nuclear plant during the night. Optimus wonders gravely what they're attempting to build.

Shockwave reports to Megatron that the [[Synthetic Energon|synthetic energon]] formula provided by [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]] is incomplete, resulting in the instability of the Cyber Matter. Megatron tells him to complete it quickly, citing the need for enough Cyber Matter to restore Cybertron and cyberform [[Earth]]. Shockwave respectfully asks what the logic is in ruling two planets, to which Megatron replies that the two are linked, one [[Unicron]] and the other [[Primus]], and to rule only one would be ruling neither.

Fowler reports another Decepticon theft in progress. Ratchet opens a [[GroundBridge]], but stops Ultra Magnus when he tries to go through, citing the need for further rehabilitation. Optimus says that Ratchet has the final word in medical matters, to which Ultra Magnus reluctantly agrees. Wheeljack watches the exchange with discomfort.

The Autobots arrive on the scene and immediately advance on squad of [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicon]]s, who are carrying away their spoils. [[Soundwave (WFC)|Soundwave]] emerges from the sky in alt-form, opening a GroundBridge directly in front of the retreating Vehicons. [[Laserbeak (WFC)|Laserbeak]] is deployed, and Optimus transforms and takes to the air with his jet pack to engage them both. The Vehicons escape through the bridge, but Optimus' gatling gun is able to bring Soundwave crashing to the ground. Laserbeak escapes, and Optimus contacts Ratchet to let him know they will be returning with a prisoner.

At the Autobot base, Soundwave finds himself secured to a table. Ratchet notes that the base's shielding will prevent the Decepticon from contacting his ship. Wheeljack gleefully says that they have all the time in the world to make Soundwave talk, and Miko wonders if he even does talk.

On the ''Nemesis'', Starscream asks Megatron if he's worried about what the captive Soundwave might say. Megatron states his confidence in Soundwave's ability to withhold information.

[[File:Soundwave Mocks.png|thumb|right|I punch those numbers into my calculator and it makes a happy face.|250px]]
Optimus asks Soundwave why the Decepticons have been stealing human technology. Soundwave mockingly plays back a remix of the question set to music, and punctuates it with a smiley face emoticon on his visor. Optimus threatens a less civil method of interrogation, and Soundwave broadcasts a sonic pulse throughout the room that causes humans and Autobots alike to double over in pain. Ratchet angrily suggests opening Soundwave up to get the information they need, but the Decepticon responds by erasing data directly from his own drives. With a final taunt spoken in his own voice, he says, "Soundwave superior, Autobots inferior." His visor blinks out and he slumps down on the table, off-line. An astonished Ratchet reports that the Decepticon's vital signs are stable, but that he crashed his own drives rather than allow them to be read.

Shockwave locates the only item on Earth with enough raw tonnage to power the rebuilt Omega Lock; a particle collider synchrotron. However, his efforts to complete the synthetic energon formula have met with less success. Megatron recalls that Knock Out obtained the formula from Ratchet, and muses that the simplest solution is to recruit him. Shockwave says that Laserbeak can upload the order to Soundwave after reconnecting with him, but Starscream notes that they don't know the location of the Autobot base. Shockwave recalls that Soundwave kept surveillance records on all the Autobots' human allies, not just the children.

From his car phone, Fowler tells Optimus that he's on his way to a meeting with [[Bryce|General Bryce]] about the recent Decepticon heists, and that he'll be back to the base as soon as possible. Behind the car, Laserbeak follows from the sky.

Megatron orders Predaking to be present at the Decepticons' next objective, as they expect the Autobots will interfere. Predaking says that he looks forward to facing the [[Prime (rank)|Prime]] again. This cavalier attitude enrages Megatron, who screams at the Predacon about their dwindling forces. Predaking merely states that he will have to fight twice as hard.

On his way back to the base, Fowler contacts the Autobots and reports that the Decepticons are attacking the Solaris particle collider project at the South Pole. Optimus readies the Autobots for action. Ratchet attempts to hold Ultra Magnus back again, but Wheeljack declares that the commander is ready. Wearily, Ratchet relents and opens a GroundBridge. Optimus commands Bulkhead and Smokescreen to stay behind and help Ratchet guard Soundwave, then he and the others depart. While the younger Bots comment on the prone Decepticon, Ratchet wonders what Megatron wants with a device powerful enough to open a [[black hole]].

Outside, Fowler parks in front of the base, still followed by Laserbeak.

It dawns on Ratchet that enough power to swallow a world could also be enough power to create one. He contacts Optimus at the South Pole and relays his suspicion that Megatron plans to rebuild the Omega Lock. He wonders if they should let him, but Optimus knows Megatron will use the Lock to cyberform Earth as well as Cybertron. Disappointed, Ratchet says he understands.

Just then, Predaking strikes from the sky, firing blasts of flame breath that send the Autobots scattering. Optimus returns fire and orders the Autobots to stop the Decepticons from obtaining the collider while he faces the Predacon alone. As the Autobots race to the Solaris building, Optimus draws his gatling gun and engages in an aerial duel with the Predacon. Optimus pours on the firepower, but is unable to keep the beast at bay. With a final, savage swipe of his tail, Predaking sends Optimus crashing down to the ground far below.

Inside the building, the other Autobots find a squad of Vehicons lying in wait for them. As the two groups exchange fire, Shockwave oversees the retrieval of the particle collider in the next room.

At the Autobot base, Smokescreen is trying to convince Ratchet that they'll restore Cybertron somehow when Fowler walks in. He is followed a moment later by Laserbeak crashing through the window. The [[Deployer (Prime)|Deployer]]'s lasers keep the Autobots at bay long enough for him to sever Soundwave's bonds. Smokescreen returns fire, hitting Laserbeak's wing, but is unable to prevent the bird from reuniting with his master. Soundwave springs back to life and effortlessly dispatches Smokescreen, Bulkhead, and Fowler with his tentacles before advancing on Ratchet.
==Notes==
===Errors===

===Continuity notes===
* The [[Omega Lock]] was destroyed by Optimus the last time Megatron tried using it to cyberform Earth, in "[[Darkest Hour (episode)|Darkest Hour]]".
* Ratchet managed to give Ultra Magnus a replacement hand (well, claw), which was mangled by [[Predaking (Prime)|Predaking]] in the [[Evolution|previous episode]].
* The story of how Bumblebee lost his vocoder was established in "[[Operation Bumblebee, Part 1]]" and the novel ''[[Transformers: Exodus]]''.
* Megatron recalls how the formula for synthetic energon was collected from Ratchet in "[[Stronger, Faster]]".
* Unicron was discovered to be buried within the Earth in "[[One Shall Rise, Part 1]]".

===Transformers references===
* Soundwave says one of his most famous lines, directly from the [[The Transformers: The Movie|1986 movie]].
* Megatron orders Predaking to fight as a beast. The Transformers from [[Animatron]] in [[Transformers: Cybertron (cartoon)|Transformers: Cybertron]] were more powerful in their beast forms.

===Trivia===
* Soundwave speaks in his own voice for the first time in the series. And, to the surprise of few, it's a quote from the [[The Transformers: The Movie|1986 movie]]. His voice is the same as his [[Soundwave (G1)|G1 counterpart]] (again provided by [[Frank Welker]] only with his voice distortion slightly less enhanced.
*Ultra Magnus appears unable to use the blaster in his right arm with his hand destroyed.
*Laserbeak carries a complete backup of Soundwave's data banks.
*The first statement Soundwave says is not from the G1 movie but can possibly be referenced to it. The Soundwave from Transformers Animated states the same line yet backwords. "Autobots inferior, Soundwave superior." This was in the episode Human Error Part 1. Yet it was a reference to G1, I believe the creators had gone for Animated since they appear to like it so much.

==Notes==
===Errors===

===Continuity notes===

===Transformers references===

===Trivia===
"Autobots inferior, Soundwave superior." This was in the episode Human Error. Yet it was a reference to G1, I believe the creators had gone for Animated since they appear to like it so much.
