Choro-Q is a brand of toy cars with pull-back motors owned by TakaraTomy. Unlike typical toy cars, they are not accurately-proportioned miniatures, but rather super deformed to make them cuter. They were introduced to the Japanese market in 1979, and were once sold in Western markets under the name Penny Racers. They were an immediate hit, to the extent that after only a few years, they found their way to Takara's Micro Change line as common household objects for Microman-scale robots to be disguised as. This is the reason why the Generation 1 Autobot Mini Vehicles look completely different from the standard Autobot Cars.

For Japan 2000, three Choro-Q vehicles were redecoed as Transformers characters for the show's exclusive toys. They were the only exclusive toys for that convention, as it turned out. Ouch.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Choro-Q in 1999, Takara re-introduced their line of Choro-Q proportioned robots, called Choro-Q Robo. It rapidly grew into a multi-property brand, which Transformers joined in 2001. The Choro-Q Robo toys transform (simplistically) from full-fledged Choro-Q vehicles to their robot modes. Megatron's vehicle mode is a chibi Walther P38 that can zoom across smooth surfaces alongside your other Choro-Q toys. Seriously. In 2003 the Choro-Q Robo line was spunoff into the short-lived non-transforming Q-Robo Collection Figure series.
Other
Though not a Transformers game, the Hudson Soft GameCube and PlayStation 2 game TV World Fighters, only released in Japan, features Transformers as both playable characters and cameos. Due to characters from at least three different companies being involved, legal entanglement makes it highly unlikely that the game will ever leave the country.

In the '90s, a game based on Generation 2 was supposedly in development for the Super Nintendo console, but the project was dropped. It has been rumored that this project then evolved into the SuperFX chip enabled game Vortex. This is supported by Vortex being made by Argonaut Software (the company that was supposed to release the Generation 2 game), the fact that the game involved a polygon-based transforming robot, and the timing of the release.

Transformers Battle Universe for the Net Jet features characters from the Generation 1, Beast Wars, Movie, and Animated franchises, belonging to all four instead of any particular one.
When Decepticons and Autobots showed up to fight over the hydrothermocline, Zachary proposed settling their differences by playing a game of Multi-World. Later, Zachary allowed Optimus Prime's personality (which was backed-up on a floppy disk) to exist as a character in the game Hyper-Fax. Pretender to the Throne!
* Metro City
* Cybertron
: From Animated.

Alt modes
During most of the modes of play, the only alternate mode that you get is a brief one or two second change before transforming back to robot mode — just enough to get off an attack. It's an effective way to get your opponent to back off and gets you more points than a punch or a kick.

However, during the Adventure mode, which pits you against five opponents one-at-a-time, you can use the transformation button between opponents to get extended use of the alternate mode. You won't change back until you hit the button again. If you get the Matrix before transforming back, then the battle will start with both of you in alternate mode. This can actually be disadvantageous though, especially if you choose the beasts or G1 Megatron. Primal and Dino Megatron have no attacks when in beast mode; the only damage they can do is by running into their opponent. G1 Megatron is on a fixed pedestal, which means the opponent can strike from any angle, but Megatron can't move to get out of the way. Still, it is fun, even if it's not an effective way to fight!
Two separate Transformers Animated arcade games were manufactured by Sega in Japan during the show's Japanese run in 2011. The games utilize the Transformers Cards, allowing players to insert their favorite characters into the game via a card swipe.
Though it is a Animated game, several character cards were made for toys from other franchises, primarily Generation 1, though characters from the live-action film series and even Beast Wars have popped up.
Transformers Animated is a television-supported Transformers franchise that began in December 2007. This iteration of the Transformers brand brings a highly dynamic and stylized look to the toys and fiction.

The franchise consists of the following components:

*A cartoon series
*Three comic book series
*A toyline
*Several books
*A Nintendo DS game
*A manga
*Two arcade games

The cartoon began with a 3-episode mini-movie, first aired on Cartoon Network on December 26, 2007, and followed by a full 13-episode season, which started airing in January. The toyline, however, did not hit stores till the late spring of 2008, due to the ongoing popularity of the 2007 movie toys.

The series adopted a new visual art style and form of storytelling which has not been used before in Transformers. The changes in design were created in an attempt to attract the modern youth viewer. The new art style incorporates a more "organic" feel to the Transformer characters. This style of art and character movement was introduced to emphasize dramatic movements and to allow the animator to express more emotion than in previous series.

Reception
On January 25, 2008 the first regular episode of the Transformers Animated cartoon premiered as the #1 boys show in its time slot, significantly better ratings than previous CN programming.
* An edited 10-minute preview of the first episode was shown at the NTFA Mini-Con fan convention held in Arlöv, Sweden, on November 3 and 4, 2007. Two separate Transformers Animated arcade games were manufactured by Sega in Japan during the show's Japanese run in 2011. The games utilize the Transformers Cards, allowing players to insert their favorite characters into the game via a card swipe.

*Transformers Animated: The Chase is a racing game.
*Transformers Animated: The Shooting is a rail shooter.

Though it is a Animated game, several character cards were made for toys from other franchises, primarily Generation 1, though characters from the live-action film series and even Beast Wars have popped up.
