The show made its worldwide debut in late December 2014, with the first 13 episodes released as pay-to-view content on Chinese video streaming website M1905.

Story
When the Autobot prison ship Alchemor crashes on Earth near Crown City, its cargo of stasis pods carrying several hundred of the most-wanted Decepticons is scattered around the countryside, releasing their contents. The Mini-Con Fixit sends a mayday, however on Cybertron, Bumblebee, now working as a street cop for the repopulated planet, is instead alerted by a vision of Optimus Prime. Optimus gives Bumblebee a new mission on Earth, sending the young Autobot to the nearest space bridge. Bumblebee unwillingly finds himself accompanied to Earth by his cop partner Strongarm and the delinquent Sideswipe. Joined by the ex-Decepticon prisoner Grimlock and two humans — Denny Clay, owner of a Vintage Salvage Depot for the Discriminating Nostalgist (a scrapyard) and his son Russell — Bumblebee and his team must track down the escaped prisoners and prevent harm coming to Earth or its native population. Chief among the threats poised by the Decepticons is the charismatic Steeljaw, who seeks to organize the escaped prisoners into an effective cabal to conquer the planet.
Japanese release
Re-titled Transformers Adventure (トランスフォーマー アドベンチャー, Toransufōmā Adobenchā), the series airs on the satellite network Animax with a Sunday, 9am timeslot. Adventure is the first Transformers cartoon to be relegated directly to satellite since Beast Wars Returns. It premiered on March 15, 2015... only a day after the US premiere.

The localization for the series is headed by Kei'ichirō Miyoshi, who headed the localization of the live-action Transformers films for Japanese markets. This also makes Adventure the first American Transformers cartoon to be released in Japan without the oversight of Yoshikazu Iwanami since Generation 1. Despite that, Miyoshi is making a clear effort to emulate Iwanami's style, including lots of adlibbing and additional gags.

As is rather well-known, Transformers: Prime did not complete its run in Japan, ending at 52 episodes. To date, Japanese audiences have not received the Beast Hunters episodes or the Predacons Rising film. How this will affect the localization of Adventure is currently unknown; whether the missing material will be accounted for or the scripts reworked to ignore it. We'll just have to wait and see.

The theme song for the series is "Save the Future!!" by Mitsuhiro Oikawa and the ending theme is "Try☆Transformers Adventure↑↑↑" performed by the primary cast of the show (Bumblebee, Strongarm, Sideswipe, Fixit, Grimlock and Optimus Prime).

Notes
*The first 13 episodes were released with Mandarin Chinese dubs on December 31, 2014 in mainland China, but not Hong Kong. The episodes were made available on website 1905.com, with five-minute previews being free and the whole episodes available until January 15 for CNY/RMB ¥19.5, which is around USD$3-4. You could even win a "fabulous" assortment of Hasbro toys (legion class) and a RMB¥30 digital coupon if you paid for the episodes!
*The show would go on to premiere on Canal J in France, Cartoon Network in Australia and New Zealand, Biggs in Portugal, and Cartoon Network in Hungary before the USA screenings began.
*While it's possibly a coincidence, this series features antagonists with animal-like forms for the Autobots to fight, much like the series' 2001 namesake predecessor and its featured villains.
Bee and his team encounter a new Decepticon who inadvertently leads them to discover Steeljaw's gang.

Synopsis
A couple of street racers speed along a drainage canal in Crown City, however a glimpse of a scuttling shape causes the lead driver to brake heavily. As they emerge from their cars, a massive claw snatches one of the vehicles and drags into a nearby drain. The two drivers rapidly exit the scene in the remaining car.

The next day, Strongarm returns to the scrapyard by sneaking in over the wall, only to be caught by Sideswipe. Sideswipe seizes the opportunity to engage in a bit of blackmail in return for his silence. Bumblebee paces at the command center, only to be startled by Denny and Fixit, and admits he's on edge due to the lack of Decepticon activity. As the other Autobots arrive Denny and Fixit explain they've made two duplicate Decepticon Hunters. The alarm sounds as they pick up a Decepticon signal in the flood drains under Crown City and the team head out, though not before Bumblebee embarrasses himself with another attempt at a rallying cry.

The Autobots head into the storm drains and split up to search. Sideswipe exercises his blackmail over Strongarm by getting her to go down the worst of the tunnels, however Bee soon locates tracks. He finds a crab-like Decepticon hiding in a pile of refuse, and the Autobots arrive to help, however the Decepticon attempts to make a deal as there's another bot he's more afraid of. As they attempt to cuff him, the Decepticon scurries away, and they're forced to chase him through the storm drains. After Sideswipe manages to cut him off, they trap him at the end of a tunnel, however he breaks some pipes and unleashes a torrent of water at them. The four Autobots are washed out of a storm drain into the river. The Decepticon climbs out through a manhole where he encounters Steeljaw. The Autobots recover from their impromptu bath, and Fixit is able to identify the Decepticon as the snitch and blackmailer Clampdown.

Steeljaw and Clampdown arrive at the Decepticon hideout where Fracture and Underbite are waiting. Thunderhoof arrives during introductions and recognizes Clampdown as the Con who got him arrested and put in prison. Though Steeljaw makes it clear that's all in the past, Thunderhoof is still enraged, and Clampdown flees as a result. Strongarm later spots Clampdown climbing onto a garbage barge and the Autobots are able to reach the garbage tip and ambush Clampdown when he reaches it. He tries to use his knowledge of Steeljaw's activities to cut a deal, but the other Decepticons arrive as well. The Decepticons attack and Sideswipe tries to stop Thunderhoof from chasing Clampdown, but is waylaid by Fracture. Steeljaw manages to get the better of Bee, and tosses the Autobot in a garbage compactor, however Sideswipe manages to stop it closing. Grimlock takes out Underbite by feeding him some plastic and then cannonballing him, Sideswipe succeeds in taking out Fracture, and Strongarm cuffs Divebomb and Airazor. Thunderhoof pins Clampdown in a crater, but they accidentally headbutt each other and are knocked out. Bumblebee also defeats Steeljaw, and the group of Decepticons are soon all secured.

While Bumblebee announces he's feeling more relaxed now, Steeljaw manages to slip his cuffs and runs off. The Autobots give chase, but as Steeljaw runs along the dock, he smashes the moorings of a garbage barge. The ship starts drifting into the path of a tour boat, and Bumblebee orders the rest of his team to help prevent a collision. They all grab the mooring ropes and manage to pull the barge back out of the way, with the tour boat passing safely by.

Back at their hideout, Steeljaw slashes Clampdown's insignia, severing the tracking signal. Though the other Cons are still dubious of Clampdown's loyalty, Steeljaw assures everyone that the newcomer won't turn on them... or else.

Driving back to the scrapyard, Sideswipe attempts to again blackmail Strongarm into doing his patrol for him, but Strongarm refuses. Bumblebee revels he already knows that Strongarm's been sneaking off base and punishes Sideswipe for blackmail by giving him double shifts. At Bee's prompting, Strongarm reveals that she's been sneaking off to a car wash in order to maintain a proper appearance... and that it's pretty relaxing, as Bumblebee declares from under the spinning brushes.
While Bee and his Team try to bring in a gang of Decepticon thieves, Optimus readies himself for a coming evil that will threaten both Earth and Cybertron.

Synopsis
As his team once again descends into petty bickering, Bumblebee tries to focus himself, however fortunately for Bumblebee's stress levels, Fixit reports he's detected four Decepticon signals and the team meeting is adjourned. The Autobots head out to investigate, though Sideswipe and Strongarm continue their petty feud as they drive. The team soon comes upon a collection of stasis pods, which Strongarm observes have been broken open from the inside.

In a formless other plane of existence which is the Realm of the Primes, Optimus Prime stands ready to face whatever challenge Micronus has for him. Micronus warns Optimus's greatest test will be when he returns to Earth, but produces a hill which he says Optimus must climb. As Optimus observes things can't be that simple, Micronus reveals a small group of humans, and a robot foe approaches.

Bumblebee has Fixit check the Alchemor prisoner manifest for four Bot teams, and Fixit comes up with Malodor's team of Skunkticons. There are tracks leading north towards the automated dam, but though Bee thinks they should head back to the scrapyard and get protective gear for the Skunkticons' toxin, Grimlock immediately heads for the dam with the rest of the team following.

Optimus places himself between the humans and the incoming foe, which launches four balls at him. Optimus is knocked down, and the balls transform into Mini-Cons which begin menacing the humans. As the Mini-Cons fire, Optimus does his level best to protect the humans, losing his Prime Decepticon Hunter in the process.

Bee's team enters the dam to find it apparently empty. Fixit says the ambient electricity may be masking the Decepticon signals, and as Sideswipe fools around, the Skunkticons amble into the dam. The four Decepticons unleash their toxin, and Grimlock heroically throws himself in front of the others, taking the full brunt of it. As Grimlock is disorientated, the other Autobots get hit as well and with them all incapacitated, Malodor decides to take Grimlock hostage. The Skunkticons bundle Grimlock into the cargo lift and head up.

Optimus continues to battle the robotic foes he's been pitted again, body slamming a Mini-Con and knocking the others about with his truck mode. Retrieving the Prime Decepticon Hunter, He pleads with Micronus to tell him how to use the weapon to its full potential, but Micronus remains cryptic. Two of the Mini-Cons restrain Optimus so the larger foe can hit him, while the remaining Mini-Con goes after the humans. Optimus manages to break free and throws the hunter at the Mini-Con, though it manages to zap one of the humans before being impaled.

Bumblebee, Strongarm and Sideswipe recover from the toxin, and Bee has to stop the other two Autobots bickering. They find the trail left by Grimlock's tail and follow it to the cargo lift, which the Decepticons have wrecked. The trio climb onto the roof of the lift and start manually pulling it up. On the upper control level, Strongarm and Sideswipe resume their infighting until the Skunkticons arrive with Grimlock, whom Malodor threatens to shoot unless the Autobots back off. On hearing Bumblebee's voice, Grimlock immediately gets up, inadvertently knocking down the Decepticons, and Bumblebee and his team spring into action. As the battle resumes, Grimlock blunders around blindly, damaging the dam controls and initiating an emergency flood release. Malodor throws Bumblebee while he's distracted by the alarm, then the Skunkticons dose Strongarm and Sideswipe with toxin and flee.

In the Realm of the Primes, Optimus continues to try to protect the humans while pleading with an impassive Micronus to help. He's unable to prevent the Mini-Cons from blasting all but one of the humans, and is himself knocked back by the Mini-Cons lasers. The larger robot and two remaining Mini-Cons surround the last human.

Faced with bedlam, Bumblebee finds his focus and nudges the other Autobots away from the edge of the dam, which they've strayed perilously close to in their blind panic. With Fixit's help, he then shuts down the dam's emergency locks so that the water isn't released. The rest of the team recovers from the Skunkticon toxins, and they head down one of the maintenance tunnels to find the four Decepticons.

Micronus reminds Optimus that he's been so focused on what he's doing that he's forgotten what the original challenge was. Optimus bounds up the hill, at the top of which he finds a stone carving of a sword. This allows him to power up the Prime Decepticon Hunter and unleash an arc of electricity that takes out the three remaining robot foes. The last human disappears in a flash of light, and Optimus realizes that the humans were never real, just a part of the test. Micronus warns him of the trials to come.

Team Bee reach a section of tunnel and crash through into the neighboring tunnel, cutting off the Skunkticons. Though one of them manages to spray Grimlock with toxin, the four Decepticons are soon incapacitated.
When two rival bounty hunters land on Earth, Bumblebee discovers that there's a price on his head.

Synopsis
Denny shows off some of his disguises, impressing Grimlock. Russell tries to join in, but Denny breaks the news that he wants to not involve Russell in future missions, as he's suddenly realized it counts as child endangerment. Russell is disappointed, but before they can discuss it further, the alarm sounds and Fixit reports that he's detected two Cybertronian spacecraft landing at a nearby hunting lodge. Bumblebee tells Grimlock to stay put, as a giant metal dinosaur would be hard to explain to humans, however when he, Strongarm, Sideswipe and Denny reach the lodge, it turns out to be deserted. Denny heads for cover just in time, as Fracture appears out of the woods, followed moments later by Drift. The two newcomers launch their respective Mini-Cons, and as the two groups square off, Fracture announces his intent to claim a bounty. As the Decepticon gets the upper hand, Bumblebee suddenly recognizes Drift. With the other three Autobots reinforcing Drift, Fracture and his partners retreat. Drift reveals that the council has placed a bounty on Bumblebee's head, but Drift now owes him a life debt and will protect him from Fracture. Denny emerges from hiding, and Drift mistakes him for a pet.

In Fracture's spaceship, the three Decepticons use their camera micro-drones to spy on the Autobots and Fracture promises to get rid of Drift. The Autobots reach the scrapyard, and Drift is appalled at its lack of defenses and the inexperience of Bumblebee's team. While the larger Autobots organize things, Russell shows Jetstorm and Slipstream the command center. The two Mini-Cons express how they wish Drift to show his approval of them more, and Russell shows off a video game. The other Autobots start barricading the entrance, however Fixit detects a Cybertronian lifeform already inside the scrapyard. The Autobots go to check it out, but can't find anything, and Fixit detects a second signal on the other side of the yard. As Grimlock and Strongarm go to investigate, the power promptly goes out, forcing Denny and Sideswipe to go get the backup generator working.

Spotting the micro-drone buzzing around, Drift spears it with his sword, and Fixit reports the life signal has disappeared. Grimlock spots a moving bush and moves in to stomp on it, however it turns out to be a trap, and he and Strongarm are incapacitated. Denny is still struggling to get the generator working when Fracture steps out of a GroundBridge nearby. He tazes Sideswipe before ordering his Mini-Cons to grab Denny. Russell arrives in time to see the Decepticons disappearing through the GroundBridge with their prizes. Bumblebee, Drift and Russell rendezvous at the command center, where Bumblebee announces his intent to rescue everyone, however Drift believes they should stay put, determined to fulfill his life debt to protect Bee. Fracture arrives by GroundBridge and offers to return the prisoners so long as Bumblebee turns himself in. Bumblebee refuses and charges at Fracture, only to be blinded by flashes of light. Fracture and Drift again clash, with Drift ordering his Mini-Cons to protect Bumblebee.

As they battle, Airazor menaces Russell and Fixit. Torn between obeying orders or protecting the pair, Jetstorm chooses to help Russell and Fixit. When the Mini-Con addresses him as "commander", Russell remembers the video game. The battle turns against Drift, as Fracture stealthily plants an explosive on his back, and as the Autobot goes down, Russell fires up the video game and tries to bluff Fracture that it's a real alien battle fleet he's called in as backup. Unfortunately an untimely "game over" gives the game away, and Fracture's Mini-Cons seize Russell and Fixit. Fracture is about to strike the final blow on Drift when his own spaceship appears overhead, having been hijacked by Drift's Mini-Cons. With the ship's guns trained on him and three freed Autobots freshly arrived through the GroundBridge, Fracture threatens to blow up his own ship unless they let him go. Bumblebee settles the matter by punching Fracture, who proceeds to blind everyone with flashes of light before fleeing with his Mini-Con partners. Jetstorm and Slipstream crash the ship in the scrapyard, much to Denny's distress.

Drift announces the life debt is repaid, but he's realized that Bumblebee is honorable and won't collect the bounty on him after all, and Russell manages to get Drift to complement Jetstorm and Slipstream before the trio blast off in their ship. Fixit reports that though Fracture's ship won't fly again, it still has a working GroundBridge. Denny says he's changed his mind and Russell can take part in future missions.
"Oh yeah aye, I'm from the park service. Sorry but this trail is closed don'tcha know."<br>
"Woooow, it's like one minute you're that guy, and then boom, suddenly you're somebody else!"<br>
"The secret, is to really get inside a character's head."
:—Denny and Grimlock

"Hi, Denny Clay." [tries to shake Drift's hand]<br>
"Your pet has poor manners."
:—Denny and Drift

"Your inexperienced law officer, juvenile delinquent, oafish Dinobot, damaged Mini-Con, and human pets are no match for an enemy as devious as Fracture."<br>
[Everyone together] "HEY!"<br>
"Strongarm is not oafish!"
:—Drift does not have much faith in Team Bee and Sideswipe defends Strongarm.

"Hey, do I tell you how to do... whatever you do?"<br />
"Nope, that's Strongarm's job."
:—Denny and Sideswipe

"It can be this simple Drift. I collect this bounty, you collect the next. Perhaps."<br>
"This is no longer about a bounty."<br>
"It's always about a bounty!"
:—Fracture and Drift

"I saved you, you saved me. I hereby release you from your life debt, with my deepest thanks."<br />
"That is not how you conclude a life debt."
Notes
Animation and technical errors
* After Fracture's initial appearance Bumblebee's mouth is missing for a few seconds before reappearing.
* Fracture's silhouette appears in the Alchemor prisoner manifest scan sequence, despite him not being a prisoner on the Alchemor.

Continuity notes
* Grimlock recalls his fights against Hammerstrike, Terrashock, and "the one with all the eyes", which may be a reference to Chop Shop.
* The bounty on Bumblebee's head was placed by the new High Council in response to his actions in Pilot (Part 1).

Prisoner manifest
* In stasis: Hammerstrike, Bisk, 4/5ths of Chop Shop ("that one with all the eyes"), Terrashock, Filch, Minitron, Springload, Ped, Quillfire
* Known at large: Steeljaw, 1/5th of Chop Shop (possibly unknown to Bee), Thunderhoof, Underbite
* Released: Grimlock
* Countless others all missing, presumed at large

Transformers references
Real-world references
Trivia
* The first thirteen episodes of the series, this included, first premiered in Mandarin on Chinese streaming video site M1905.
* When Fixit offers to call up the list of captured Decepticons, there are some conspicuous silhouettes shown in the prisoner manifest we hadn't seen before, offering some sneak peeks at future characters. Clampdown appears here, who will be introduced next episode. There's also what appears to be a bat Decepticon immediately after.
