:''Barricade is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Movie (franchise)|2007 movie franchise]] in the [[Live-action film series|live-action film]] [[continuity family]]. He is also known as '''N.B.E. 04'''.''

[[Image:MovieBarricadeHeatScrambleCard60.jpg|right|300px|thumb|"I'm always the Bad Cop. And don't bother asking for the [[Prowl (G1)|Good Cop]]. I killed him."]]

'''Barricade''' is apparently a complicated robot. He's considered "fractious" even by Decepticon standards, yet is willing to give [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] the benefit of the doubt and follow where he leads, at least for the time being. Though not totally dedicated to the service of the Decepticons' current leader, he is much more cautious and reserved about expressing mutinous dissent than say [[Blackout (Movie)|''most'']]. He believes that Starscream is vital in their search for [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and the [[AllSpark]]. In many ways this makes him Starscream's closest ally in the naturally combative Decepticon ranks. Then again, it's been said that he likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was. As such, he has disguised himself as an Earth police car in an attempt to fool the humans around him.

If his attitude toward his fellow Decepticons is inconsistent, his attitude toward the [[Autobot|Autobots]] is not: kill them all. Barricade might not be as large as most of his peers, but he is every bit as deadly. He thoroughly relishes every chance in fighting the Autobots. He's smart enough to let one live if he thinks he or the Decepticons can use it to their advantage, but most of the time, they're dead before someone's even thought of a plan.

Many years in the past, when [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] had just come under the rule of the [[Defense Force]] and the [[Science Division]], Barricade was a member of the Defense Force under the command of High Protector [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]]. He participated in missions to rid the planet of "malcontents" who protested against the new order, and like many of his peers, he did so ruthlessly. {{Storylink|Foundation issue 2|Foundation #2}} After the discovery of a [[The Fallen|mysterious relic]], unknown alien hostiles attacked Cybertron. Megatron ordered Barricade and Scorponok to perform recon. {{Storylink|Defiance issue 1|Defiance #1}} Following the battle, Megatron changed significantly, altering the military's mission from one of protection of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] to making war upon the hostile aliens and anybody who would stand in their way. {{Storylink|Defiance issue 2|Defiance #2}}

Barricade was sent on a mission to capture Science Division leader (and thorn in Megatron's side) [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]] and eliminate his fellow scientists and the unwitting security team sent to arrest him. He and [[Crankcase (Movie)|Crankcase]] observed [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] nailing the "traitors" with an explosive round, and he was eager to get into the fight. He was ordered back by the glory-hound [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], but Barricade had the last laugh when the wily Optimus managed to bury the aerial forces under a mountain of rubble. After they were dug out, they all joined the rest of Megatron's new "Decepticon" faction. {{Storylink|Defiance issue 3|Defiance #3}}

During the subsequent civil war, Barricade was one of the Decepticons under the command of Starscream at a battle outside of [[Tyger Pax]]. As they were mopping up the last remnants of Autobot resistance, Barricade amused himself by playing with the decapitated head of a fallen Autobot. When he saw the AllSpark jettisoned into space, Barricade realized that Cybertron would soon die. Bonecrusher said to let it die, and he could join it. Barricade did not bring up the discussion again. {{storylink|Planetfall (Movie)|Planetfall}}

Ordered by Megatron to follow Optimus Prime's ship, Starscream hastily assembled a crew to go after them. Barricade not-exactly-quietly questioned the need to hurry, as he thought Megatron would have captured the AllSpark by now and would have take care of the Autobots in time. He also questioned Starscream's truthfulness. Unfortunately, he was overheard by Starscream and was chastised for his big mouth. While pursuing the ''Ark'', they were led into a trap and had to limp back to Cybertron for repairs. Once their ship was repaired, they continued on with their mission, landing on the [[Mars (planet)|fourth planet]] of the solar system where they detected the AllSpark's trace energy pulse. {{storylink|The Reign of Starscream issue 1|The Reign of Starscream #1}}

The Decepticons landed in the [[Earth]] nation-state of Afghanistan. During their attack on a nearby [[United States military]] installation, Barricade used a facade of friendliness to trick nearby human soldiers into lowering their guard, whereupon he slaughtered them at point-blank range. Later, he was almost hit by a localized EMP weapon from a human, but it instead hit his comrade [[Wreckage (Movie)|Wreckage]]. {{storylink|Planetfall (Movie)|Planetfall}}

{{note|The depiction of Barricade's arrival in "Planetfall" on Earth in Afghanistan conflicts with IDW's own prequel comic, which implies he actually landed somewhere in North America, and it remains unexplained how the land-based Decepticons would later appear in America, given Blackout immediately leaves to attack [[SOCCENT Forward Operations Base|SOCCENT Qatar]] in this comic. ===''Ghosts of Yesterday'' prequel novel===
Barricade acted as pilot and chief science officer for the ''[[Nemesis (Movie)|Nemesis]]'' during the quest to find the [[AllSpark]]. When they encountered an [[Ghost 1|alien ship]], he analysed it and discovered that it seemed to be of Cybertronian design, leading to a disagreement between himself and [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] regarding whether to study it or destroy it. He claimed to have chafed under Starscream's leadership, but was willing to tolerate him for the moment.

During Starscream's later absence, Barricade was against [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]]'s plan to attack the Autobots, and remained on the ''Nemesis'' while the others got their tailpipes kicked. Following the defeat, he contacted Starscream to warn their leader that Optimus Prime was on his way to the planet below where Starscream had been misleading the occupants of the alien ship. Starscream ordered an attack on the Autobots while their numbers were diminished, so Barricade placed [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] in charge of the assault, while he himself elected to stay on the ship and use it as a distraction. And sang. He supplied support fire as the others fought the Autobots. On Starscream's return, the Decepticons leader was challenged by Blackout, and Barricade decided they should see things resolved once and for all. After Blackout's defeat, Barricade asserted that he'd known what the outcome would be even before the fight began.

When Optimus and Bumblebee entered the fray, Starscream ordered Barricade to leave the ''Nemesis'' to reinforce their numbers. He proved most effective in battle against Bumblebee and [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]]. The fight ended when Starscream was badly damaged by the alien ship and, to Barricade's disbelief, called a retreat. The Decepticons returned to their ship and departed. {{storylink|Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday|Ghosts of Yesterday}}

[[Image:BarricadeVsSam.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Barricade negotiates an alternative to PayPal.]]

After being active on [[Earth]] for some time, Barricade arrived to pick up [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] after the smaller Decepticon's attempt to hack into and sabotage the United States military network on [[Air Force One]]. Using data Frenzy had acquired, the two learned of [[Sector Seven]], "Project Iceman", and [[Archibald Witwicky|Witwicky man]], the discoverer of the entombed [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]]. The duo were able to use the internet to learn of both Witwicky man's descendants, [[Sam Witwicky|ladiesman217]], and a pair of glasses that Megatron had accidentally marked with the location of the long-lost [[AllSpark]]. Frenzy declared that they needed to find ladiesman217, and Barricade moved out in search of him.

[[Image:Movie Barricade defeat.jpg|left|250px|thumb|He got better.]]

Later, Barricade confronted ladiesman217 regarding his recent [[eBay]] auctions while the human was fleeing [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], whom the human mistakenly believed was out to harm him. Ladiesman217 fell for Barricade's ruse, and requested the "officer's" help, only for Barricade to transform before him. As ladiesman217 fled, Barricade knocked him onto the hood of an abandoned car, then violently demanded information on eBay item 21153. Ladiesman217 and his [[Mikaela Banes|female friend]], who had been drawn into the encounter, managed to escape him when Bumblebee convinced the boy to trust him, and Barricade pursued both the Autobot and two humans to a junkyard. After temporarily losing and then regaining their position, he charged into battle, activating his mace/rotating blade, and dispatched Frenzy to chase down the humans. The battle started off pretty good and worked in Barricade's favor until bumblebee slammed him into an office, Barricade then rolled over and took back control by bashing his fists on Bumblebee's head. However, their battle ended with Barricade heavily damaged. Considering the fact that Frenzy was decapitated, he got off lucky.

[[Image:Decepticons highway.JPG|right|250px|thumb|Nope, nothing suspicious about this.]]

Evidently, though, he recovered, and was back to working order when Frenzy (who had survived and infiltrated Sector Seven) transmitted both Megatron and the AllSpark's location to his fellow Decepticons. When the humans fled with the AllSpark, Barricade joined in the pursuit along with [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]] and [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]]. Devastator soon broke off on an alternate route, while Barricade and Bonecrusher hit the freeway, making contact with the Autobot/human convoy. Barricade attempted to clear some room for the two Decepticons by activating his sirens; Bonecrusher simply rammed everything in his way. Ladiesman217 recognized Barricade, and warned that they were in danger. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], and [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] aligned to block their access to Bumblebee, who contained the humans and the AllSpark. He was forced off the road and up an off-ramp, causing him to be absent from the battle in Mission City. {{storylink|Transformers (film)|Transformers}}
After the traitorous businessman [[Bruno Carrera]] and Starscream had trapped Optimus Prime in the Colosseum in Rome, [[Italy]], Starscream turned the situation over to Barricade, who was more than delighted to see his old enemy in such a prone state. However, before he could strike the final blow, a bunch of [[human]]s began attacking, which wouldn't have been a problem if they weren't equipped with the scientific genius of [[Kaminari Ishihara]] and [[Petr Andronov]], in addition to [[William Lennox]] and [[Robert Epps]] firing sabot rounds into him. He was about to stomp on the insects when Prime broke free of the trap and engaged him. Once the humans were clear, Optimus pulled a surprise move by jumping out of the pit and dumping rock on top of him.

Once he was buried, Optimus melted the top layer of rock, trapping Barricade long enough for the NEST team to defeat Starscream and take him in. Unfortunately, Barricade was nowhere to be found; Instead, a passing crew working on the subway found a strange new tunnel, leading from the Colosseum to the center of a park. Whatever had dug the new passage overnight was nowhere to be seen. {{storylink|Transformers: The Veiled Threat|The Veiled Threat}}

With Starscream suffering a nervous breakdown and was sent to a special home (the Decepticons made sure it was a very ''secure'' special home (#12)), Barricade took control of the letters page; however, the Autobots dispatched [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] to co-run it, much to the Decepticon's irritation. He shares Starscream's contempt for ''you'', the reader (#1), and continues the tradition of threatening violence against ''anyone'' who cosplays as an Autobot (#7). This, however, doesn't stop him bragging to Ironhide when the letters are pro-Decepticon, and at one point he held a popularity contest to see who the kiddies wanted to be "subjugated by this issue!" (#6).

Relations appear to have broken down between the Decepticons and [[DreamWorks]], as they're back to targeting Bay et al for their propaganda films (after a brief [[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)#Titan Magazines Transformers movie comics|alliance]] with the second film). Barricade personally enjoyed the scene in the first film when [[Mojo|a dog]] peed on Ironhide though! (#1) Barricade won't even work with the film's tie-in media, refusing to allow his likeness to be used in one of the ROTF video games. (#4) (He claims he never wanted to be in ''[[Transformers: War for Cybertron (games)| War for Cybertron]]'' but his tears disprove that (#12)) He later decided fame was more important than principles though, submitting a script and auditioning for a part in the third film by threatening [[Michael Bay]] with death (#8). He's absolutely ''disgusted'' by [[fandom|our]] enjoyment of the films: he lost ''friends'' during filming, man. (#10)

In the early days, he appeared to be separated from the rest of the Decepticons, as his knowledge on their current status is spotty; while he knows [[Wheelie (ROTF)|Wheelie]] has turned traitor, he seemed unaware that [[Ravage (ROTF)|Ravage]] had been terminated. (#4) He later re-established contact, being aware of [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor's]] status and [[the Fallen]]. (#7) He also has a ''shockingly'' bad knowledge of Transformers [[units of time]]. (#8)

He doesn't think much of Starscream's intelligence or ability to lead (a bit of a pisser when Starscream considered ''him'' to be 2IC material!), but ''much'' prefers him over Megatron. (#1) He once explained some of Megatron's flaws, only to get scared and state how he totally respects him ''really''. (#3) He also dislikes [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]], claiming the guy ''never'' pulls his weight and is just Megatron's fave. (#7) On top of that, while he follows the party line and claims the Decepticons have "policies" (#7), he's shown signs of discontent with being a Decepticon: the long hours, the lousy food, the admin work... (#5)

Ironhide has started to offer Barricade the chance to defect to the Autobots. The copper outright rejected this offer the first time, saying he couldn't bear the thought of listening to Optimus moralise. (#9) The second time, however, he merely stated the horrific penalties for defecting Decepticons (#10) and the third, he desperately said he just ''couldn't'' do it, even if it would be nice to hang with other cars for once... BUT HE CAN'T! Ironhide's friendliness is starting to disturb him. (#11)

Barricade has watched the [[The Transformers (cartoon)|original 1980s cartoon]] (#3) and approves of humanity's fascination with giant robots. In contrast, he is ''completely'' bewildered by pop music. (#7)

He's apparently got an eye for [[Female Transformer|the ladies]], making sure to flirt right back when a neutral femme wrote into the letter's column looking to play "bad cop/bad cop pretending to be good cop" with him. (#5)

Like Starscream before him, he somehow has awareness of [[Unicron]]. And Unicron gives him the shits. (#6)

Like Starscream before him, he's referred to being active during the 1980s. At the time, he was a [[Barricade (G1)|Micromaster]]. (#12)

He is fed up of Ironhide bringing up how Bumblebee kicked his arse, and is determined to get revenge on "that little yellow cretin"...
He then made off with Frenzy and the [[NEST]] access codes. {{storylink|Cyber Missions 6}}

Later, Barricade and [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown]] confronted [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]]. Barricade was one of the Decepticons present in [[Chicago]] when [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and [[Sentinel Prime (ROTF)|Sentinel Prime]] unleashed their plan to use a [[space bridge]] to bring [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] to Earth, and assisted in the takeover of the city.

Under the command of [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]], he aided in rounding up several Autobots that had infiltrated the city, including his old foe Bumblebee, whom he addressed by a hard kick to the back for fun. At the behest of the human traitor [[Dylan Gould]], Soundwave ordered Barricade to execute the Autobot prisoners, starting with [[Wheeljack (Movie)|Que]]. Barricade pushed the Autobot scientist forward despite his pleas for mercy. After a Decepticon protoform delivered the first shot, Barricade killed Que by shooting him in the back and laughed derisively as his victim fell. He then looked on as Soundwave prepared to execute Bumblebee but before Soundwave could kill him, Wheelie and Brains caused Decepticon fighters to crash down from a Decepticon battlecruiser. This caused a distraction that allowed Bumblebee and the other captive Autobots to break free, resulting in Soundwave's death.

[[Image:DOTM-Barricadesnipershot.jpg|right|thumb|250px|Better hope one shot is enough to disable both his left optics at once, eh?]]
Barricade had managed to escape the carnage and meet up with [[Shockwave (Movie)|Shockwave]], ripping the protoforms a new one (figuratively, but knowing Barricade it was about to get literal), apparently blaming them for the death of Soundwave and the Autobots' escape. Barricade finally met his end during the [[NEST]] attack on Shockwave's group. While yelling at a protoform he was blinded by sniper shots to his eyes. He stumbled around in pain for a moment before being crippled by a [[Boomstick]] placed on his leg. Barricade collapsed to the ground, dropping his gun as he did. He then tried to crawl to safety before finally being killed by several shots to his head by gunfire from the human troops. {{Storylink|Transformers: Dark of the Moon (film)|Dark of the Moon}}
Barricade was sent to Tranquility to hunt down Sam Witwicky and the glasses that held the location of the AllSpark. He attempted to capture Sam and Mikaela outside their high school, but Bumblebee stepped in. The humans fled for the nearby baseball field with Barricade in pursuit, but Bumblebee beat him to them, protecting them while they ran away again. He followed them to the power plant, but was once again foiled by Bumblebee and sent packing.

Later, in [[Mission City]], Barricade made one last grab for the AllSpark after [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] had each fallen to the Autobots. However, he was once again intercepted by Bumblebee, and finally defeated for good. {{storylink|Transformers The Game (console)|Transformers The Game}}
====Decepticon campaign====
Upon reaching Tranquility and choosing his alternate mode, Barricade attempted some recon, but encountered a squad of Autobot drones, a battle which spilled out to the local baseball field. Shortly afterwards, he was informed by Starscream that [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] had information they needed, but the diminutive Decepticon had been captured by [[Sector Seven]] agents. Barricade tracked them to the power plant, then hounded the agents across town in their highly resistant van, wrecking every building in his path until Frenzy was recovered.

Finally on the trail of Sam, he was stopped cold by Sam's protector Bumblebee. Barricade got the upper hand, but the Autobot led him on a chase that ended in [[Bay Demolition|Bay's Demolition]] lot, and an ambush courtesy of a lot of Autobot drones. Barricade overcame the odds, and hunted down Bumblebee once more, finally besting the Autobot and taking the glasses from Sam. Having located Megatron, Barricade relayed his findings to Starscream, who directed him to specific coordinates while coming to the aid of Bonecrusher and Brawl.
After failing to lose Bumblebee in spite of all of Tranquility's police force being after him, he engaged him in combat. Unable to defeat Bumblebee, he hastily retreated. Later on, he encountered Bumblebee and Optimus Prime as the two were leaving Hoover Dam. With a large helicopter Decepticon at his side, he demanded the AllSpark from Prime, not even caring about the consequences. ====''Transformers: Decepticons''====
When the [[Create-A-Bot (Decepticon)|Decepticon Create-A-Bot]] arrived on Earth, his mentor, Starscream, directed him to rendezvous with Barricade, already active on the planet and commanding some of the Decepticon forces there. Barricade was not enamored with the idea of a partner, feeling that the Create-A-Bot would only slow him down, but after putting the rookie through his paces, he permitted him to join him on his mission in the town of [[Tranquility]]. Barricade revealed to the Create-A-Bot what Starscream had not—that the signal which had brought the Decepticons to Earth had come from Megatron himself. The rookie dismissed Megatron as a relic, and was struck by Barricade for the insult. With some help from the rookie, Barricade discovered that the Autobot Bumblebee was already on Megatron's trail; Barricade pursued Bumblebee, defeated him in battle on the outskirts of Tranquility, and acquired the data he had gathered.

Now aware that the human military organization [[Sector Seven]] was holding Megatron, Barricade arranged for [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] to the Create-A-Bot to a [[Qatar]] military base, where they and [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] hacked Sector Seven's databanks. The file they obtained was brought back to Barricade in Tranquility for deciphering, and revealed that Megatron was being held by Sector Seven in the [[Hoover Dam]]. The Create-A-Bot suggesting relaying this to Starscream, but Barricade loudly refuted the idea, happy that the impending resurrection of Megatron would mean that he would no longer have to serve under a cowardly, back-stabbing bureaucrat like Starscream. Swayed by Barricade's words, the rookie revealed a fact that Starscream had told only him—that the AllSpark was also present on Earth. Shocked by the revelation, Barricade realized that Starscream had been scheming to acquire the AllSpark for himself, to ensure that not even Megatron could remove him from power. With the rookie now turned from Starscream and on his side, Barricade was able to liberate Megatron from Sector Seven, and the Decepticons pursued the Autobots, now in possession of the AllSpark, back to Tranquility.

During the battle, Starscream finally claimed the AllSpark from Bumblebee, and Barricade stood against him, intent on bringing him in for treason. Alas, the AllSpark-powered Starscream destroyed Barricade, but with in death, Barricade proved to the Create-A-Bot what it truly meant to be a Decepticon. An interesting note: Barricade became one of the only Decepticons to transform while fighting in this game, and he was very effective at it. {{storylink|Transformers Autobots/Decepticons|Transformers: Decepticons}}
* Barricade's disappearance from the first ''Transformers'' film is puzzling. It appears he was originally meant to be destroyed, as both the novel and comic adaptations of the movie depict his destruction by [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], who had both destroyed Bonecrusher and was delayed in joining the humans and fellow Autobots. (Alternatively the children's chapter book adaptation of the film ''[[The Quest for the AllSpark]]'' describes Barricade as being destroyed by the US military.) Regardless, in the movie proper, Barricade simply does not appear again after Bonecrusher transforms. At the time, his fate caused a great deal of speculation. Since then, however, he appeared in ''[[Transformers: The Reign of Starscream|The Reign of Starscream]]'', ''[[Transformers: Alliance|Alliance]]'', ''[[Transformers: Tales of the Fallen|Tales of the Fallen]]'' and ''[[Transformers: Rising Storm|Rising Storm]]'' before finally returning for a fairly unambiguous death in ''[[Transformers: Dark of the Moon (film)|Dark of the Moon]]''.
He would have infiltrated the CIA headquarters (rather than Air Force One) in the form of a "portable stereo" and then transformed (and size-shifted) into a Humvee for his escape.<ref name="early">Details from an early script draft [http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showpost.php?p=2213120&amp;postcount=297 summed up here], [http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showpost.php?p=2214148&amp;postcount=303 confirmed as authentic by Roberto Orci here].</ref>
*[[Prowl (Movie)|Prowl]] was originally part of the Autobot line up for the movie, but was removed, as the writers loved the perverse idea of Barricade becoming a police car. This represents quite a step within any/all Transformers continuities, as a Decepticon has never before taken on a form (most) humans could so easily "trust", in a sense. <s>Sorry, Prowl, better luck [[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)|next time]].</s> <s>Uh, [[Transformers: Dark of the Moon (film)|third time]]'s a charm?</s> Oh, forget it.
*An early working name for Barricade was '''Brawl''',<ref name="barribrawl">[http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/events/Botcon-2007/Hasbro-Tour/PICT5108.JPG.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=1 Early design for Barricade with working name "Brawl" shown during the BotCon 2007 Hasbro Tour]</ref> which was later given to [[Brawl (Movie)|another movie character]] (but not in the movie itself).
* Early concept art for Barricade<ref name="barribrawl">[http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/events/Botcon-2007/Hasbro-Tour/PICT5108.JPG.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=1 Early design for Barricade with working name "Brawl" shown during the BotCon 2007 Hasbro Tour]</ref> also suggests that he was originally going to transform into a white and black Crown Victoria (somewhat akin to Prowl's original G1 color scheme).
*The head design from this early concept artwork managed to show up on a few pieces of merchandise for the first film (such as a set of temporary tattoos), and would later inexplicably show up as a profile link for Barricade's [[Battle Bio]] on Hasbro's website.
* During the rather truncated chase scene between Barricade and Bumblebee in the 2007 ''Transformers'' movie, Barricade was to deploy some serrated drill-like missiles from his hood and fire them at the fleeing Autobot. Though these weapons were constructed and fitted to one of the Barricade prop vehicles, this scene was ultimately cut, explaining the abrupt shift to night time at the conclusion of the chase. Until artist [[Sean Haworth]] uploaded a photo of the weapon prop onto his website, the only official proof of the existence of these weapons was page 12 of IDW Publishing's [[Movie Adaptation issue 2]] and the RadioShack ''XMODS® Evolution'' Barricade radio control car's weapons and light uppgrade kit.
* In the first movie, Barricade sports the [[license plate]] "1-4027E", registered in Oklahoma. It can be briefly glimpsed when he slows down after having seemingly cornered Bumblebee, but is more clearly seen in set photos. Oddly enough, that plate ''also'' shows up on ''[[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz's]]'' robot mode chest in the same movie. The Deluxe Class Recon Barricade [[redeco]] toy, meanwhile, sports the plate "SAGE2764", a reference pertaining to deco designer [[Joe Kyde]], the [[Premium Series]] redeco of the Deluxe toy sports the plate "DCPTCN" for "Decepticon", and the ''[[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (toyline)|Revenge of the Fallen]]'' [[Human Alliance]] toy sports the plate "2PN-SLV", referring to Barricade's infamous "To punish and enslave..." markings.
* The [http://www.saleen.com/transformers.htm promotional Saleen S281E cars] that appeared at events and premieres featured the slogan "Power in the hands of a few" rather than the "To punish and enslave" motto, as well as Saleen decals rather than the Decepticon decals seen in the movie. Hmmm...
* The [[IDW Publishing|IDW]] ''[[Transformers: Movie Prequel |Movie Prequel]]'' seems to contradict the very existence of his alternate mode, since the Decepticons were depicted as having come to Earth in 2003, yet his alternate mode is a 2006 model car. However, a little-known fact is that the Mustang design that would eventually be the 2006 model debuted sometime in 2003, with police car modifications showing up in car shows not long after. It could very well be that, similar to when/how Jazz scanned a Solstice in a dealership late at night, Barricade scanned a Police Mustang in one such car show display after-hours, explaining why there were "no witnesses" after he assumed this form ''and'' why his police deco has no state or city markings/I.D.
*A common misconception among fans is that Barricade's Saleen Mustang alternate mode was spotted on the set of ''[[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)|Revenge of the Fallen]]''. This is not true. In fact, a truck transporting three "Barricade" prop vehicles was spotted in Culver City, California, in March 2008, more than two months before principal shooting for ''Revenge of the Fallen'' started.<ref name="vehspotted">[http://www.superherohype.com/news/transformersnews.php?id=6980 Superhero Hype reporting on the spotting of Barricade vehicles in March 2008]</ref>
* For ''[[Transformers: Alliance|Transformers: Alliance]]'', [[Chris Mowry]] had planned for Barricade to appear and be turned into [[Sideways (ROTF)|Sideways]], but Hasbro rejected the idea.<ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/members/mowry-73165-page2.html#vmessage170099]</ref> Another of Mowry's ideas for ''Alliance'' involved having Barricade reformat into a police boat to retrieve Megatron's at-sea remains, where he would have fought... [[Storm Surge (Movie)|Storm Surge]], another Decepticon.<ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/members/mowry-73165.html#vmessage281346]</ref>
*Barricade doesn't ''technically'' speak in ''Dark of the Moon'', but an editing gaffe as he kicks Que around before executing him sees him spend the entire scene talking with Soundwave's voice.
*Despite Barricade's gun looking the same as all the other protoforms, its firing action, recoil action and the damage it does to Que resembles that of a shot gun.
*During the sequence of Barricade collapsing to the ground and getting shot, the tires on his shoulders disappear and reappear from shot to shot.

'''An ancient conflict between those who worship chaos and those who follow freedom has come to Earth. Our World. ''Their'' War.'''

==Synopsis==
The book begins with the history of Cybertron's destruction at the hands of Megatron, and his quest to obtain the [[AllSpark|Energon Cube]]. Megatron discovers the Cube on [[Earth]], but crash-lands in the [[Arctic|Arctic Circle]], becoming frozen in the ice. Captain [[Archibald Witwicky]] and his crew of explorers stumble upon Megatron's body in the late 19th century. Megatron's navigational system is unintentionally activated, and Archibald's eye glasses are imprinted with the coordinates to the Cube's location. Sector Seven, a secret organization of the United States government, discovers the Energon Cube and builds the Hoover Dam around it to mask the energy signal. The still-frozen Megatron is moved into this facility, and is reverse engineered to further advance human technology.

In the present day, the rest of the Decepticons—Blackout, Scorponok, Frenzy, Barricade, Starscream, Bonecrusher, and Devastator—have already landed on Earth and assumed the disguise of Earth vehicles. Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base in Qatar in an effort to use the military database to discover the location of Megatron and the Cube, but they do not succeed. A small group of survivors from the military base attack wander through the desert and are attacked by Scorponok. The Autonomous Robotic Life Form (shortened to "Autobot") known as Bumblebee is also on Earth, disguised as a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro, and looking for Sam Witwicky, the descendant of Captain Archibald Witwicky. As soon as he locates Sam, the two quickly begin to bond as Bumblebee helps Sam try and woo his crush, Mikaela Banes; Sam is unaware of the fact that Bumblebee is an alien, until he witnesses Bumblebee transform and send out a homing signal for the rest of the Autobots. After Blackout's failure, Frenzy infiltrates [[Air Force One]] and discovers that Sam possesses the map that will lead the Decepticons to the Energon Cube. Frenzy and Barricade begin tracking Sam's location.

Barricade confronts Sam, demanding Archibald's glasses. Bumblebee, who is following Sam, transforms and battles Barricade. Mikaela, who is also following Sam, is caught in the crossfire, and leaves with Sam and Bumblebee to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots. The Autobots—Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet—land on Earth and take on the forms of several Earth vehicles. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots return to Sam's home to retrieve the glasses. However, agents from Sector Seven arrive to take Sam and Mikaela into custody. Bumblebee is also apprehended, against the pleas of Sam who assures the agents—to no avail—that he means them no harm.

Frenzy secretly accompanies the group to the [[Hoover Dam]], and releases Megatron from cryogenic stasis. Locating the Cube, he sends out an alert to the rest of the Decepticons. Megatron escapes, and Sam convinces the Sector Seven agents to release Bumblebee so that he can get the Cube to Optimus Prime. The Decepticons chase the Autobots, who now possess the Energon Cube, into a neighboring city. An battle ensues, resulting in casualties on both sides, with Sam ultimately destroying Megatron and the Energon Cube when he rams it into Megatron's chest. The remains of the Decepticons are cast into the [[Laurentian Abyss]]. With no other home to go to — Cybertron having been destroyed by Megatron and the Cube being the only thing that could have restored it — the Autobots decide to stay on Earth, and Optimus sends out a signal across space in an effort to locate any surviving Autobots, while Sam and Mikaela begin a relationship. Starscream, one of the Decepticons that survived the battle, leaves Earth.
==Notes==
Several scenes differ between the film and novel due to the fact that Foster was working from an earlier version of the script. These include:

* The [[AllSpark]] is known as the "[[Energon Cube]]", although its function in the story is nothing like that of Energon cubes from ''Transformers'' history, instead serving exactly the same purpose as the AllSpark in the film.
* [[Jorge Figueroa]] doesn't talk in Spanish during the Osprey ride and later dies on the plane taking [[William Lennox|Lennox]] and his men back to America. Fig's death scene was filmed but was ultimately cut from the movie, and in fact it was suggested before the release of ''Dark of the Moon'' that Fig would return in that film, rendering his death non-canon.
*[[Judy Witwicky|Sam's mom]] DOES NOT make any reference to [[Sam Witwicky|a certain embarrassed boy]] masturbating. Which is a good thing.
*When Ratchet scans Sam and Mikaela, he reveals their undergarments. Weird.
*As with the film, Optimus Prime and Megatron actually refer to each other as "brother",
*During the battle in [[Mission City|some city]], the energy released when the AllSpark hits the ground causes ''lots'' of [[Xbox 360 robot|video game consoles]] to become Transformers. Interestingly, ''guns'' can become Transformers if in range of the cube's energy. Nope, we've never seen [[Megatron (G1)|guns]] [[Shockwave (G1)|transform]] before, no, sir.
*The novel has the final battle take place in [[Las Vegas]] instead of [[Mission City]].
*Sam and Mikaela don't make out on top of Bumblebee at the end, although they do kiss in the school parking lot.
*Starscream has a chat with Megatron at [[Hoover Dam]], where they seem to be on good terms. Starscream's fight with the F-22s is not included, though much of the final battle scene is greatly abridged.
*[[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]] appears out of nowhere during the city battle.
*Megatron rips out Jazz's spark instead of tearing him in half. In addition, during the hologram flashback to Cybertron, Megatron is shown killing an Autobot in the same way, instead of spearing him from a distance.
*Neither the movie nor its adaptations explain how global communications were restored or how long it took for it to happen (or anything that happened beyond the events involving the Transformers). They all also assume that no one used a camera phone to record the battle and post it on the Internet after it was restored.
*Jazz doesn't talk "street" in the novel; in fact, all Autobots speak an unnaturally formal form of English to enhance their alien status. In the film, Jazz's first line is "What's cracking, li'l bitches?", while in the novel, his first line is "Greetings, terrestrial adolescent humans." This also reflects Foster's depiction of the character in ''[[Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday|Ghosts of Yesterday]]''.

==Quotes==
"Whoa, hey. I thought we'd wait till she was at least two before we got into the R-rated stuff."
:—'''Lennox''' needs to head back to parenting classes.

"Actually, it's not ''Margaret''. I ''hate'' that. It says ''Maggie'' on my birth certificate and whenever anyone calls me Margaret I tend to—never mind, sorry. I got a little impulse-control problem, no filter. Like I probably shouldn't say your bushy eyebrows are kinda throwing me right now..."
:—'''Maggie''' needs to get her filter fixed and quick.
'''Sam''': Okay, totally stumped.<br>
'''Mikaela''': The rug?
:—'''Optimus''' and '''Ratchet''' not understanding Earth culture, '''Sam''' not understanding alien language, and '''Mikaela''' being the smartest around.

"I owe you my life. Humans do not always think rationally, but you can think fast."
:—'''Optimus''' unintentionally insults and compliments humans in the same sentence.
:''Optimus Prime is the [[Prime (rank)|leader]] of the evil [[Autobot]]s from the [[Transformers: Shattered Glass (franchise)|Shattered Glass]] [[continuity family]].''
[[Image:Optimusshatteredsipher.jpg|right|300px|thumb|EVIL LINCOLN'S '''''BAAAAAACK!!!''''']]
'''Optimus Prime''' is the sadistic, tyrannical leader of the evil [[Autobot]]s, a cruel and ambitious villain whose plans fall nothing short of universal conquest. First stop: [[Earth]]! The only thing standing in Prime's path to domination is [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]], a young and noble [[Decepticon]] willing to lead a small band of rebels in a fight for freedom.

Long ago, he was a librarian named '''Optronix''' who cheated his way up through Cybertronian society. He formed the war-loving Autobots and initiated a war against the complacent, but it wasn't until a crucial, yet undocumented moment that he truly turned insane. He suspends the corpses of his enemies and would-be usurpers on the walls, talking to them as if they still lived. He is completely unhinged, prone to deadly outbursts against even his most loyal followers.

{{quote|Strike, my Autobots! Strike with all the power at your disposal! Let those who see our wisdom join us, and those who choose to stagnate be cut out like the rotting cancer they are!|Optimus Prime says it's on|"[[Shattered Glass]]"}}

==Fiction==
===''Shattered Glass''===
[[Image:Optronixshattered.jpg|left|250px|thumb|The Dewey Decimal System is a cruel mistress.]]
Dangerously obsessive, Optronix worked as a librarian in the Great Cybertronian Archives. Backstabbing his way up the ranks, he soon amassed a following of like-minded Cybertronians who believed in his code of advancement through conflict. Suddenly, his armies attacked, sweeping through cities and killing those who refused to join them. {{storylink|Shattered Glass}} When the scientist [[Starscream (SG)|Starscream]] turned down Optronix's offer, he ordered Starscream's [[Crystal City]] home to be destroyed in front of him. {{storylink|Starscream (SG)|Starscream's toy bio card}} With their spoils, his "Autobots" began arming themselves with more complicated weaponry, but Optronix, now named Optimus Prime, saved the most advanced upgrades for himself. His hunger for power and knowledge ended one day without warning; he discovered something terrible that destroyed his mind, and in place of his cold calculations was now an unhinged mind bent on random, indiscriminate violence. He strung up his countless victims along the walls of [[Great Dome|his headquarters]] in [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]] and began talking to them, asking them mockingly for advice.

But [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]], a young champion from [[Polyhex]], gathered an army to oppose him. Megatron's forces also had a way to counter Optimus Prime's military superiority: the ability to configure their bodies into alternate forms. It did not take long for Optimus Prime to steal this "Decepticon" technology for himself. {{storylink|Shattered Glass}}

[[Image:Invasion-MagnusFlashback.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Only an [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|evil Optimus Prime]] would rip off someone's face!]]

At some point Optimus Prime's brother [[Ultra Magnus (SG)|Ultra Magnus]] staged a coup. It ended unsuccessfully, with Ultra Magnus losing his face and being imprisoned on [[Paradron]]. {{storylink|Invasion (issue)|Invasion}}

When the Decepticons destroyed all but one of the rogue mercenary group named the [[Wrecker]]s in the battle of [[Praxus-Delta]], Optimus Prime welcomed their leader, [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]], into his ranks. {{storylink|Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus's toy bio}} Increasingly paranoid, Optimus Prime began suspecting his subordinates of treachery. He killed the leader of his elite [[Seeker (SG)|Seeker]] unit, [[Drench (SG)|Drench]], and when he learned of Seeker [[Sideswipe (SG)|Sideswipe]]'s dissatisfaction with his leader's assassination, Prime staged an ambush to kill him. However, not only did Sideswipe narrowly escape and join the Decepticons, {{storylink|Sideswipe (SG)|Sideswipe's toy bio}} one of Optimus's few friends and savior at the [[Torus Heights]] battles, [[Cliffjumper (SG)|another Autobot]], happened to be at the [[Rad Zone|location of the ambush]] and did get killed. Optimus never learned of this though, and assumed Cliffjumper had died in the battle at [[Darkmount]]. {{storylink|Shattered Glass}} Optimus chose Rodimus in place of Sideswipe and [[Goldbug (SG)|Bumblebee]] to take Drench's place as the Seeker unit's new leader, having him rebuilt into the fearsome Goldbug. {{storylink|Goldbug (SG)|Goldbug's toy bio}}

Optimus began looking elsewhere. He targeted the distant planet Earth for conquest, had several of his Autobots reconfigure their bodies to transform into the machinery native to the planet, and began construction of an [[Ark (SG)|''Ark'']]. However, he requested so much weaponry to be built onto the starship that the integrity of the launching platform was in question. He dismissed these concerns.

[[Image:Optimusshatteredhallway.jpg|left|300px|thumb|Optimus got a [[Skyquake (SG)|Skyquake]] in his collection?? Wow! Yeah, the plastic [[Gold Plastic Syndrome|does that]].]]

Close to the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s completion, [[Cliffjumper (SG)|Cliffjumper]] appeared to return from the dead. At first, he was readily welcomed back into their ranks, but they quickly learned that he was not their Cliffjumper at all, but a [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper doppelganger]]. Prime shot him and ordered his body dumped in the [[Rad Zone]]. This backfired, as Cliffjumper was recruited by the Decepticons, and during a subsequent full-scale Decepticon attack, his [[glass gas]] weaponry was used in an attack on the ''Ark'' launching platform. Prime's plans to conquer Earth were stopped for the moment. {{storylink|Shattered Glass}}

After a later Autobot ambush at the recently rediscovered [[Arch-Ayr]] fuel dump, the Cliffjumper doppelganger angrily rushed Optimus Prime, followed by the combined forces of the [[Mayhem Suppression Squad]]. Despite it all, Optimus Prime kept on his feet, though his rage was growing with every blow. No one, however, was expecting the sudden arrival of an army of [[Dinobot (SG)|Dinobot]]s led by the exiled mad scientist, [[Wheeljack (SG)|Wheeljack]]. Optimus Prime ordered the rampaging Dinobots to destroy the Decepticons, but instead the beasts attacked each other. During the chaos, both sides withdrew.

Optimus Prime was furious at the Autobots' failure. At [[Side Burn (SG)|Side Burn]]'s clever suggestion, Prime ordered Wheeljack be put in charge of rebuilding the ''Ark'', a task that the mad scientist felt was beneath him. Also, he demanded that the Dinobots be hunted down and gathered for the Autobots' purposes.

Blurr and Rodimus returned triumphantly with eight Dinobots, though Rodimus had lost his hand in the process. Optimus Prime stood over Rodimus as he awoke from [[Ratchet (SG)|Ratchet]]'s table: the traitorous Seeker now had a buzzsaw in place of where his hand used to be. A suitable punishment! Prime told Rodimus he should be grateful he let him live at all. Perhaps he should use the saw to remove that [[facial hair|ridiculous thing]] from his face? Though Blurr and Rodimus thought Grimlock had died during their search for the Dinobots, sure enough, Grimlock appeared, alive and strangely very intelligent, within their base. Optimus Prime was about to punish Grimlock as well, but Grimlock pointed out a fuel system error in the blueprints of the ''Ark''. The evil Autobot leader let the Dinobot leader go, but demanded someone be brought to him he could destroy. {{storylink|Dungeons & Dinobots}}

When Optimus Prime ordered the ''Ark'' fixed, he knew that the Decepticons would try to follow the Autobots into space. [[Jazz (SG)|Jazz]] mentioned that [[Ricochet (SG)|Ricochet]] had taken care of the Decepticons. Optimus's eyes filled with rage as he learned that Ricochet had captured Megatron. Prime immediately left to reprimand Ricochet for stealing the honor of destroying Megatron. Upon his arrival at the [[Temple of Knowledge]], Optimus and Ricochet were attacked by a group of Decepticon [[Micromaster]]s, allowing Megatron to escape. After a few turnabouts, Megatron won the day. The ''Ark'' launched without Optimus Prime (due to Rodimus' treachery), so Prime ordered a retreat. Once back at the launch site, he learned from Blurr that Rodimus had thrown the Autobots loyal to Prime off the ship. Optimus Prime ordered Ricochet to the [[Agonizing Rehabilitation Chamber]]s for his impudent plan of capturing Megatron. He also promised that Blurr had failed him for the last time. {{storylink|Do Over}}

In one of [[Aquarius (SG)|Aquarius]]' explanatory flashbacks to [[Breakaway (Classics)|Breakaway]], [[Topspin (Classics)|Topspin]], and [[Landquake (Timelines)|Landquake]], Optimus Prime asked [[Ironhide (SG)|Ironhide]] how progress was coming on [[Omega Doom]]. He was pleased to hear that it was going well, and gloated that once the behemoth was finished, the galaxy would be his for the taking.
[[Image:TakingOutRemotePatrol6_Reunification5.jpg|thumb|right|300px|I said, [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] [[FIRRIB|is blue!]]]]
In the present day, Rodimus promised that his assassins would take down Optimus Prime at the same time [[Alpha Trion (SG)|Alpha Trion]]'s agents took down Megatron, thus paving the way for their own conquering. {{storylink|Reunification: Part 3}}

Or not.

After the assassination of Megatron, [[Hound (SG)|Hound]] and [[Remote Patrol Six]] made their move, surrounding Optimus Prime and Ricochet as they discussed Megatron's death, intending to kill Optimus and install Rodimus in his place as Prime. Hound's rally cries failed to impress Optimus, and the Autobot leader proceeded to use Ricochet as a living shield against a blast from [[Warpath (SG)|Warpath's]] chest-mounted cannon, before crushing [[Kup (SG)|Kup's]] head with his bare hands, destroying Warpath's chest cannon, taking out Hound by flinging Warpath into him, and cannon-blasting [[Camshaft (SG)|Camshaft]] in the head.

However, the battle was not over yet, as [[Alpha Trion (SG)|Alpha Trion]], [[Sky Lynx (SG)|Sky Lynx]] and [[Nightscream (TransTech)|Nightscream]] had arrived to kill Optimus themselves. However, Prime introduced the trio to a completed [[Omega Doom]], who reduced Alpha Trion to a distant smear on the ground, before going off to destroy the Decepticons while Optimus dealt with Sky Lynx and Nightscream. {{storylink|Reunification: Part 5}}

At some unspecified point in time, a team of Autobots somehow under the command of both [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus Prime]] and Optimus Prime fought [[Thundercracker (SG)|Thundercracker]] and [[Ravage (SG)|Ravage]] in the Transformers' greatest battle on Earth, "[[Digital Doom on the Highway to Destruction (SG)|Digital Doom on the Highway to Destruction]]." According to Ravage, anyway. {{storylink|Recordicons#Recordicons #3|Recordicons #3}}

Optimus Prime was destroyed and left to die during an important battle in [[Mirtonian constellation|Sector 17 of the Mirtonian Quadrant]]. After Prime was abandoned by his troops, he dragged himself into a nearby [[CR Chamber]], and with the help of a local tech, he was upgraded into a new body with a sword made out of a mysterious "[[G-Metal]]." Optimus Prime returned to Polyhex and murdered many of those who had abandoned him.

Some time after Prime returned, his brother Ultra Magnus and the [[Junkion (SG)|Junkion]]s were sprung from the prison planet of Paradron by Wheeljack and [[Tracks (SG)|Tracks]]. Optimus Prime watched over a viewscreen as Magnus killed several of his most loyal warriors. After Magnus and his new army escaped via the [[Stellar Spanner]] into an alternate universe, Optimus Prime activated a distress beacon, knowing that Magnus's rival [[Treadshot (SG)|Treadshot]] would do his dirty work for him. {{storylink|Invasion (issue)|Invasion}}

A couple of quotes from [http://derrickjwyatt.blogspot.com/ Derrick Wyatt's blog] on this subject worth pointing out:

In response to question abouth whether Gurren Lagann was an influence on Headmaster's design:

* "About Gurren Lagann: No, actually. I hadn't seen Gurren Lagann until after we had finished most of the first season of TFA. I wish I had, because I would have had the Headmaster robot transform with stubby little legs. And maybe Masterson's head popping up out of the top of the robot.

And further elaboration:

* "About the inspiration and influences on TFA: I'm always inspired by Gainax's designs. They are by far my favorite animation studio in the world. I just hadn't seen anything on Gurren Lagann when we started TFA. We've definitely been inspired by that and Diebuster since. Prowl and Soundwave's glasses are a nod to 2000 AD's ABC Warriors. That and Mighty Orbots were the biggest influences on the designs."

So to some degree they've "definitely been inspired" by Gurren Lagann, not in the intial design phase but subsequently. Perhaps we oughta dial back the knee-jerk "THAT'S NOT A REFERENCE ARRGGH" reactions just a bit?

(P.S. I have no clue what "Gurren Lagann" is. Some anime, I'm assuming.) --[[User:KilMichaelMcC|KilMichaelMcC]] 09:00, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

:This fella was claiming Wreck-Gar ''himself'' was a Gurren Lagann reference. So I feel perfectly comfortable knee-jerking here. If anything his TV head ''may'' be a Gainax reference, but we're talking more FLCL here.--[[User:Rosicrucian|Rosicrucian]][[User Talk:Rosicrucian|Talk]] 14:11, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
::Was directed more at the original comment from Chris McFeely than your specific edit of this page. :::Well I'm just saying, yes now that we're in the second season there is a chance that Wyatt is throwing some of those our way. It's just that the Gurren Lagann fanboys think ''everything'' is a Gurren Lagann reference. I think that's what McFeely's getting torqued about. Okay, I posted this just before the meltdown, so I'll try it again. Maybe this time I won't crash the site by doing so. Anyway: not that the "Dare to be Stupid" captions aren't acceptable, but I think we can do better. I mean, come on, Weird Al has a song that's [http://lyricwiki.org/%22Weird_Al%22_Yankovic:Trash_Day entirely ABOUT garbage]! Yes, DTBS is a Transformers reference, but he only mentions it once, and the rest of the time people are talking about his trash. So, Weird Al + garbage = Wreck-Gar. Weird Al + garbage = "Trash Day." To me, it's too good to pass up, but I know people get touchy about captions, so I wanted to float the idea in here first. --[[User:Buttbutt|Buttbutt]] 19:45, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
::If you do use a line, I agree with Monty Prime about "The Night Santa Went Crazy" for the simple reason that I had to listen to it several times before I could understand all the lyrics.
