For the most part, the studio has taken on photography jobs, providing such services in Dragon Ball Z, Romeo X Juliet, Generator Gawl, the 1980s Dennis The Menace cartoon, The Big O and AKIRA, among others. They also made the animated version of The Prince of Tennis.

Much like South Korean studios Dai Won Animation Co., Sei Young Animation Co. Ltd. and Sam Young Studio. Trans Arts largely provided minor services to the original cartoon (Photography, for the most part, for which they returned to do for the majority of Armada). In Beast Wars II, they helped co-produce multiple episodes with Production Reed.
Raretrick (レアトリック) is a Japanese animation studio founded in 1997. Raretrick is responsible mostly for technical production effects rather than actual animation, often credited for photography, paint, digital completion and so on. When it comes to animation, though, they are mostly retained for their CG work. Shows they've provided CG animation for include Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop and Boogiepop Phantom.
Raretrick, in a rare instance of traditional animation, provided the Japanese-exclusive title sequences for Micron Legend. As well as the show's visual effects and photography.

'Quality of animation'
Is there any proof that another studio (not mentioned in this article, but generally attributed to TMS) animated this episode as opposed to Toei? All we really have going is that whomever animated this episode used completely different animation models with exaggerated porportions and styling. And is being drawn well an indication of good animation, because I don't really see much in terms of animation that's really all that. --FFN 18:32, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
:Neither do I. I would argue that Dweller In The Depths or Chaos had much better animation than COTP, and looked much better throughout because everybody was actually drawn on-model instead of being covered with ridiculous giant spikes. --Thylacine 2000 18:48, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
::One thing that always amused me is the oft-cited image of Predaking from this episode that people use as an example of A. How awesome Predaking is in this episode (despite getting his ass kicked) and B. The animation is great. Thing is, that's a pretty bad drawing of Predaking. - FFN
:::Eh, while that particular image does show proportional consistency, the rest of the episode is quite well animated. Granted it's quite stylized compared to the rest of the G1 animations, it still has little to none animation errors (except Windcharger's revival and a few minor coloring mistakes) as well as the most detailed backgrounds and cels I've seen in any G1 episodes (look at the level of detail on Predaking, Sky Lynx and Trypticon particularly). --Detour 10:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

:I think it's plainly a different studio- the animation has a different feel to it, not just the modelwork, but shot composition in-betweening, timing, etc... it's liek the difference between Kirby and Ditko. This studio did intermittent action-scene work throughout season 3, but I think this is the only episode they did wholesale.
:(I have no knowledge of studios, but my common sense tells me this ep was someone else.) -Derik 11:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
:: I seem to recall someone (Monzo?) mentioning that COTP was using the Studio Ox models as opposed to the regular Dery models.--Nevermore 23:39, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Laserbeak and Buzzsaw
I have an observation that might move their absence out of continuity error territory: They did not originally have animal-based modes. With the Dinobots, Sky Lynx, the Predacons, the Terrorcons, Ratbat, Slugfest, Overkill, and Ravage, there is no evidence in cartoon continuity that any of them originally had non-beast alternate or primary modes. The cartoon-continuity Dinobots were in fact dinosaur-alt from the very beginning. Laserbeak, on the other hand, was seen to originally have an oval-hulled jet as his primary mode, and the same can be presumed for Buzzsaw. One of the first films the company worked on was the high-profile Arnold Schwarzenegger movie True Lies, and has gone on to produce visual effects for several major motion pictures such as Apollo 13, Michael Bay's Armageddon and James Cameron's Titanic.

Industrial Light & Magic is a movie special effects studio founded by Star Wars writer/director George Lucas in May of 1975, and is currently owned by Lucas's main motion picture studio, Lucasfilm. The company is known for its outstanding work in many motion pictures, including the first computer-generated imagery animation in a feature length film, the first movie shot entirely on digital cameras, and for the development of the Pixar computer system (before they separated and were eventually bought out). The San Francisco-based company has participated in the production of over 200 movies in the past 32 years.

ILM is responsible for the majority of the CGI in the first live-action Transformers movie, and served in the same capacity for the sequels, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, as well as Transformers: The Ride.

Despite winning several awards from the Visual Effects Society for Transformers and seemingly being a shoe-in for the 2008 Oscar for "Best Visual Effects", ILM actually lost, to the shock of the visual effects industry and the assembled movie makers, to a goddamn polar bear, no less. Revenge of the Fallen wasn't even nominated for the 2010 Oscars for "Best Visual Effects". Dark of the Moon managed to get a "Best Visual Effects" nomination in 2011, but lost to Hugo. Another project ILM happened to work on.

ILM staff on Transformers included:
* Charles Alleneck - Animator
* Scott Benza - Animation supervisor
* Russell Earl - Associate Visual Effects Supervisor
* Scott Farrar - Visual effects supervisor
* Alex Jaeger - Art director
* Jeff Mann - Production designer
* Keiji Yamaguchi - Technical animator
* Greg Killmaster - Creature technical director
* Laura Killmaster - Creature technical director
