Hoist Goes Hollywood
You reverted my edit saying it was "still a stretch." What I wrote was:

"The Autobot cast for this episode is particularly appropriate. Apart from Hoist, all the Autobots who crash the filming in search of stardom are notably vain attention-seekers. Though this trait is rarely played up with Warpath, his ego regarding his gun and shooting skills is mentioned in his bios, and he appropriately makes his entrance by displaying his sharpshooting skills."

My question is this: How the heck is that a stretch? It notes what was clearly the writer's intention in casting the episode and explains the choice of a character who would seemingly be the odd man out.

I don't do a lot of editing on here, and I genuinely try to do so only when I feel I'm adding something or improving something in accordance with the standards as I understand them, but I've had several edits reverted recently that I had put a good amount of thought into, and the justifications for those reversions have been uniformly unsatisfying and very poorly explained. Tjfosko
:I genuinely don't think the writer put that much thought into it. And unless you have an interview with the writer saying as much, you can't say it was clearly their intention; it was more likely as simple as them being told "here's the toy(s) we want to promote this week, write a story about them". This just feels like adding a note for the sake of adding a note on an overly crowded page. (I personally think a lot of the existing notes don't serve to add much either, so it's not just a you thing.)
::So, you don't think the writer of the episode picked specifically four glory-hounds to crash a movie studio hoping for stardom, but that he instead got a note saying, "We want you to sell Hoist, Tracks, Sunstreaker, Powerglide, and Warpath this week"? Look at Earl Kress's episode credits. "The Immobilizer" is practically the only episode dealing with Ironhide's age (besides a few minor asides) and actually features a rare instance of Trailbreaker being a jokester. "B.O.T.," for all its flaws, plays up Swindle better than any other episode. "Desertion of the Dinobots" doesn't have the same degree of focus, but the episodes he wrote tend to be very strong in their depictions of characters. Even if your scenario of "promote these toys this week" is accurate (which I don't think it is, as the production materials that I've seen make it seem like Hasbro gave broad strokes with the exception of a few instances of "don't use this guy because we aren't releasing him" (Reflector) or "shove this in somewhere because it's a new toy" (Protectobots)), that only makes the cast more noteworthy, as it's an incredibly convenient accident. It seems way, way more likely that the writers, with the exception of the more mercenary jobs like "The Search for Vector Sigma," were given a box of toys and told, "these are your available characters, choose as you wish."
:It's not really meant to be explicitly based on any of the films, so it's largely unnecessary to note any differences. And as I said before, there's no reason for us to document what happens when the ride breaks because it's not standard procedure, and not everyone is going to have the same experience during a malfunction, so it's impossible to log every possible result. == Whirl - Marvel UK - Time Wars ==

You removed my parenthetical regarding Whirl's lack of appearance because you believed it had no bearing on his survival. However, no one knows what happened to Whirl since he never appeared, and that makes his survival ambiguous. The current note is also confusing as written because it implies Whirl appears in Time Wars, but he doesn't. I was trying to add in some clarity to answer a question I'd been trying to get answered for myself, as I looked through the wiki trying to figure out what happened to Whirl or if he'd died in a story that I somehow didn't have in my collection (since my G1 comics collection is the Titan collections, and with the weird way the UK stories were collected I wasn't 100% positive I had all the relevant stories), and it took far more digging than it should have for me to figure it out, and the Time Wars note did cause me actual confusion.Tjfosko (talk) 12:28, 17 February 2022 (EST)
Now that over a year has passed, and I’ve dealt with a lot of the issues I had with my life and gotten myself in a better place, mentally socially, etc and again I’m into Transformers than ever I wanted to be able to contribute to the Wiki again, and learn how to be more professional about my edits, and I’d like to rejoin the discord server for that purpose, in order to discuss wiki contributions, unlike before when I *only* wanted it as a place to talk and receive attention when I had no one else to talk to in my life, I don’t mean to come off as sappy or anything of the sort, just me asking for a second chance and stating how I intend to be better if given it. I wasn’t trying to remove Nick Studios on the EarthSpark page, I was trying to condense the sentence to be the same one that says how it is developed by eOne and Nick. There was another sentence that said Nick Studios is producing, so I wanted to merge the two and make it say that it is being co-produced and developed by them. But the caption still doesn’t make sense to me, since it isn’t for Nick alone anymore and the Nick who is a character designer isn’t really the person who the show is "by." Taylr2000 (talk) 23:28, 12 April 2022 (EDT)

For your politeness, I would like to formally apologize. I know I was being a jerk and being immature. That happens to me all the time. I'm sorry I did all that to you. Just please remember that not everyone needs to be treated like underlings and so. But in my case, I totally deserved it. So I'm just apologising. Hello, can you keep some of my edits? or at least change them? I feel like the "difference from film" section might be relevant. Also, ironhide and ratchet don't speak. Should they still be credited? Tylerwu (talk) 19:58, 3 December 2021 (EST)
Also, Ratchet and Ironhide appear and speak in the queue for the ride, which the article also covers. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:21, 3 December 2021 (EST)
Hi, you deleted my stuff about the compound from the spoiler boxes from the WFC trilliogy toys because it was not marketed as playdoh, yet now, there is a new section about playdoh. :Apart from the fact that I didn't even realize someone had added it back until a few days ago (and was convinced to let it stay in a separate discussion), the current write-up is much more detailed and actually explains why it's mentioned in the Play-Doh article. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 22:21, 13 January 2022 (EST)
Whirl - Marvel UK - Time Wars
:I disagree with outright questioning his survival, but I do think it's worth bringing up on his page that he stopped appearing, without us outright saying he's alive or dead. Escargon (talk) 12:34, 17 February 2022 (EST)
::I added a note to Whirl's character page to that effect. It was also deleted. Like probably 90% of the edits I make. C'est la vie. And I don't really mean to so much question his survival but to say that there's never any real statement as to what happened to him.Tjfosko (talk) 12:46, 17 February 2022 (EST)

Thanks for the heads up! But there were other reasons why I wanted to ditch my old account, such as it being tied to an email I don't have access to anymore and me only vaguely remembering the password. It's not like I did much on it anyway, I think my most notable contribution was correcting a typo or two. If the staff wants me to use my old account for safe-keeping purposes or something, then I'd be fine with that though. --AmeliaLH (talk) 00:01, 25 February 2022 (EST)
Discord ban appeal
Hey, not sure if you are the right person to ask, but over a year ago, I don’t quite recall when, I was (rightfully) banned from the Discord server for my immature and attention seeking behaviour, truthfully I am glad I was banned sooner than later since at that time I probably would’ve gotten myself banned for something much worst,
Now that over a year has passed, and I’ve dealt with a lot of the issues I had with my life and gotten myself in a better place, mentally socially, etc and again I’m into Transformers than ever I wanted to be able to contribute to the Wiki again, and learn how to be more professional about my edits, and I’d like to rejoin the discord server for that purpose, in order to discuss wiki contributions, unlike before when I *only* wanted it as a place to talk and receive attention when I had no one else to talk to in my life, I don’t mean to come off as sappy or anything of the sort, just me asking for a second chance and stating how I intend to be better if given it. When a shopping mall is struck by lightning from an energon cloud, the various ordinary objects within it are given life and become the race of tiny transforming robots known as BotBots. By day, they hide in plain sight, but by night, they emerge from hiding to have all kinds of fun. These tiny bots have organized themselves into squads based on their stores of origin, but some were left in the lost-and-found when the surge occurred. After accidentally revealing themselves to the night shift security guard, breaking the BotBots' most sacred rule, these Lost Bots are shunned and treated as outcasts by the others. Now, seeking to find where they belong, these misfits must work together to reingratiate themselves with the other BotBots in hopes of being taken back by their true squads, all while preventing the security guard from exposing their existence. As they adventure together, however, they might just learn that they've already found where they belong...
Notes
* BotBots is the franchise's first straight-up comedy series.
* This is the first Transformers cartoon to feature a Canadian voice cast since 2006's Cybertron cartoon, though based in Toronto rather than Vancouver.

Differences from the toyline
* Naturally, the show could not be reasonably expected to feature the entire BotBots toyline; even if they only featured one of each mold, that's still over 200 BotBots! They do manage a pretty impressive spread, however, with Bots from Series 1 through 4, and several from Series 6 (which was announced just a few days before the show's premiere, seemingly originally planned for a Series 7). It's unknown if the Bots from Series 5 and the original delayed/canceled Series 6 lineup were not "available" or just the showrunners didn't pick anyone from them, or a combination of the two.
* The cast is skewed heavily towards the initial Series 1 crew, even continuing some plans that were changed in the final version: toy-Kikmee was originally slated as Series 1 Lost Bot, but got pushed to Series 3 and released as part of the Playroom Posse.
* Many characters in the show are a different gender from their toy-bio selves, in both directions: toy-Kikmee is male, where show-Kikmee is female, while Fomo goes from toy-female to show-male. As such, these characters' "main" bio writeups on this wiki are written with gender-neutral pronouns, with male/female pronouns used as appropriate in the other sections.
* A few characters even swap squads! Frostferatu is a Lost Bot in the toyline, but is part of the Sugar Shocks in the show.
* And, of course, the character designs are certainly a departure from the on-package illustrations, typically (but not always!) being much more rounded and human-proportioned than the toys. They're not all as extreme a change as Kikmee (wow we're bringing her up a lot this section, aren't we?), and some bots are much more toy-like than others, but the overall vibe is definitely more Mega Man style robot than a traditional Transformer.
* Crowd scenes are filled out with "generic" BotBots models in multiple colors that come in six forms: condiment-bottle bots (based on the Fottle Barts model), pencil bots, coffee-cup bots, scissor-bots, television(?) bots, and camera bots. The first five listed have "male" and "female" models (basically identical except for the addition of "eyelashes" on female BotBots), while the big hunky camera-bots appear to be all males. As the condiment, pencil and coffee bots seem to be based on existing toys, it's possible that those with matching colors could be considered appearances by like likes of Must Turd, Point Dexter, Latte Spice Whirl, etc.

Visual style
* The show has a visual style unique among Transformers cartoons, using a "mixed media" format. The robot-mode characters and humans are "traditional" 2-dimensional animation, while virtually everything else is rendered as semi-photorealistic still images moved in a "cutout" method: the characters' alt-modes, backgrounds, vehicles, many props, etc.
* Stock photos of real humans and actual video of real-life objects are also used at points, primarily for comedic effect.
* Extreme long-shots often show the BotBots as little stacks of colored stripes matching their normal colors, which the production team have dubbed "pillbots", in order to simplify big crowd scenes.
* It also features almost no on-screen English (or any other existing written language), with virtually all the text replaced with a new set of made-up symbols, done mainly to accommodate the fact that it was simultaneously released in multiple languages in multiple markets. These characters map to the standard ABCs and the text translates to standard English. In a new twist however, there are separate symbols for capital letters.

Continuity, schmontinuity
The showrunners have been purposefully vague on where BotBots fits in the grand Transformers mythos. In numerous interviews, they've shied away from calling it any form of reboot, and stated that all that other Transformers stuff was happening elsewhere outside the mall. Their focus was to make this show a "jumping-on" point for new audiences young and old who might not be already vested in the minutiae of Transformers lore, limiting themselves to the odd nod and easter egg for previous fans, and focusing on the "universe" of the mall, the only universe the BotBots know. And this is 11 billion percent a valid approach to the show, helping it stand on its own merits (and for many fans, something of a relief given the prior decade of nostalgia-sodden fiction).

But we are TFWIKI.net, and we wouldn't be us if we didn't tug on those strings just a little bit, and at least note where this series probably can't be happening.

* First of all, "all that other Transformers stuff" consists of a massive multiverse with nearly four decades' worth of fiction. Technically, yes, it's all happening elsewhere/when. Can't call them liars there. That doesn't narrow things down much.
* That the humans (besides Dave the security guard) do not think "robots in disguise" are a thing that exists eliminates a fair few realities/time periods where the Autobots and Decepticons are very well-known, like the original "G1" cartoon and comic, the overwhelming majority of the 2005 IDW continuity and live-action film series timelines, etc. It also takes it out of the latter portions of a few others, like the Cyberverse cartoon.

Of course, all this jibba-jabba is pretty much just that. This series is functionally its own little universe until explicitly said/proven otherwise, and the showrunners seem pretty uninterested in tying it to something specific we already know, and it's probably best to just leave it at that.
