:''Skyquake is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Transformers: Prime (franchise)| Prime]] portion of the [[Aligned continuity family]].''
'''Skyquake'''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s loyalties are unlikely to be questioned anytime soon. A Decepticon guardian sent to protect Earth's energon stocks, he is completely loyal to Megatron. He will not only obey every order, he will follow them until Megatron says otherwise, regardless of the passage of time. He also possesses a rather short temper and is not beyond backhanding anyone who frustrates him (including superior officers).

His split-[[Spark]] [[twin]] brother is [[Dreadwing (Prime)|Dreadwing]].

[[Dreadwing (Prime)|Dreadwing]] considered Skyquake a brother, as they were twins, and shared a split spark, allowing them to sense each other, even across the galaxy. {{storylink|Loose Cannons}}

Millennia ago, during the great war, [[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] tasked Skyquake with assassinating [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]] at the [[Battle of Technahar]] but Skyquake failed to carry out his mission. He was later one of a number of Decepticon guardians sent to Earth by Megatron when the planet was seeded with Energon.

In the modern era, he was sought out by [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]], who needed a strong presence to inspire [[Vehicon (Prime)|his troops]] into believing his reign would be a successful one. However, Skyquake was less amiable to the idea, firmly announcing both his loyalty to Megatron and his lack of faith in Starscream's claims of Megatron's death. Before the pair came to blows, Optimus and [[Bumblebee (Prime)|Bumblebee]] appeared on the scene. Skyquake reminded Prime of their encounter during the Battle of Technar, but Optimus still offered both Decepticons a chance at peace. Starscream showed some interest, as long as Optimus bowed to him, causing a frustrated Skyquake to belt him aside and attack Prime. Bumblebee threw himself into the fray but proved more of a distraction than anything else. He did manage to buy Optimus the time to realize Skyquake still lacked a [[Alternate mode|vehicle mode]].[[Image:Masters&Students-SkyquakeDeceased.jpg|thumb|right|250px|I'm okay.]] Using the canyon they were battling in to their advantage, the Autobots managed to corner Skyquake. Unfortunately, [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]] appeared in a [[Fowler's V-tol|high-tech military jet]], which Skyquake immediately [[Scanning|scanned]].

Skyquake quickly dominated the battle until Bumblebee threw himself on the jet and, as Skyquake tried to shake him off, ripped out his internals. Bumblebee jumped onto Fowler's plane as a heavily-injured Skyquake crashed into the ground. After Skyquake closed his optics for possibly one last time, Prime sadly noted how things might have been different, before burying the Decepticon. {{storylink|Masters & Students}} Dreadwing sensed his brother's emergence from stasis and later death. When [[Soundwave (Prime)|Soundwave]] confirmed his loss, Dreadwing swore the Autobots would pay for offlining his brother. {{storylink|Loose Cannons}}

[[Image:Shadowzone-alone.jpg|left|thumb|300px|I am not ''burned'', just ''scorched.'' Wait...]]
Some time later, Starscream attempted to resurrect Skyquake using the chunk of [[Dark Energon]] that he ripped from Megatron's chest. It worked, and Skyquake rose as a [[Terrorcon (Prime)|zombie]], however a [[GroundBridge]] incident transported him to a strange alternate dimension along with the Autobots' human friends [[Miko Nakadai]], [[Jack Darby]] and [[Raf Esquivel]]. After discovering that he couldn't harm the Autobots, who were still in the real world, Skyquake began pursuing the three kids. They managed to find Starscream's arm, left behind during the battle, and used it to shoot Skyquake. This merely resulted in his arm coming off and chasing them. It followed them back through a rescue portal created by [[Ratchet (Prime)|Ratchet]] and briefly assaulted Starscream before he shook it loose. It ran after him again but Starscream GroundBridged himself away. The rest of Skyquake continued to roam the [[shadowzone (dimension)|shadowzone]] and made a vain attempt to repair himself with Starscream's lost arm. {{Storylink|Shadowzone (episode)|Shadowzone}} Megatron wasn't happy about Starscream using the Dark Energon shard that was previously merged with his Spark to bring Skyquake back, among other things. {{storylink|Rock Bottom}}

Later Starscream encountered Dreadwing at the Antarctic, but at first mistook him for Skyquake, before Dreadwing corrected him. When Starscream obtained the [[Apex Armor (Prime)|Apex Armor]], he prepared to reunite Dreadwing with his twin before getting blown underneath the ice. Optimus Prime then showed his remorse on his part for Skyquake's death and gave his brother the same offer, to which the Decepticon refused. {{storylink|Triangulation}}

Megatron later uses the oath Dreadwing swore because of Skyquake's demise to open the coffin of a Prime, rather than simply opening it himself. {{storylink|Alpha/Omega}}
After being discharged from the military, Colonel Leland Bishop founded MECH under the codename Silas. He may later have been joined by other members of the US military, some of whom were still enlisted personnel at the time. {{Storylink|Grill}}

[[Image:Convoy MECH cars surround Bulkhead.jpg|thumb|left|250px|At least they get to drive those sweet rides before ther die.]]
Aiming to secure the [[Dynamic Nuclear Generation System]], Silas shot down [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]]'s jet. When Fowler continued his journey by truck, Silas sent MECH agents in cars to try and intercept the convoy, only to experience resistance from the vehicles, which were in reality [[Autobot]]s. The convoy came under attack from [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicons]], resulting in the Autobots revealing their true forms and thus though MECH's further attempt to secure the D.N.G.S. resulted in failure, they at least learned of the Autobots' presence on [[Earth]]. {{storylink|Convoy (episode)|Convoy}}

MECH's next operation concerning the Transformers involved capturing [[Breakdown (Prime)|Breakdown]] on the [[Kamchatka Peninsula]]. Though a group of Autobots, including [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]] who directly assaulted the MECH base, managed to free Breakdown, MECH had been able to extract enough information that Silas could initiate [[Project Chimera]]. {{Storylink|Operation: Breakdown}}

Silas's team encountered the rogue [[Decepticon]] [[Airachnid (Prime)|Airachnid]], who cut a deal with them: if Silas could find [[Jack Darby]] for her, she would give them [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]]. Silas was successful in locating Jack's mother [[June Darby]] and they used her to lure Jack and [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] to a factory in [[Jasper]]. MECH didn't get a chance to extract any technology from Arcee before Fowler arrived, but Silas was able to observe Airachnid [[scanning]] a helicopter. {{storylink|Crisscross}} Fowler was still on edge enough a bit later to at first blame a Decepticon theft on MECH. {{storylink|One Shall Fall}}

[[Image:OperationBumblebee2 MECH aims guns.jpg|thumb|left|300px|Can't kill a bee with a gun, no matter how big either one is.]]

As [[Project Chimera]] neared completion, MECH set a homing beacon trap for a Transformer to investigate. When Bumblebee fell for the bait, they ambushed the Autobot and removed his [[transformation cog|T-cog]]. Back at base, they attempted to install it in their custom-made robot, only to meet with failure, however they'd been followed by the ex-Decepticon [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]], who entered into an alliance with them. {{Storylink|Operation Bumblebee, Part 1}} After securing the necessary [[energon]], MECH tried again, but their activation of the robot was interrupted by Bumblebee. MECH was forced to retreat, minus both the cog and the robot, however they were able to obtain another cog from Starscream. {{storylink|Operation Bumblebee, Part 2}}

A group of MECH soldiers stumbled on Breakdown's dismembered body and spirited it away. {{storylink|Crossfire}} MECH finally completed Project Chimera with an [[Nemesis Prime (Prime)|almost exact copy]] of [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]]. Silas used it to turn the military against the Autobots, however the Autobots eventually located their base and attacked it. With the help of Fowler, Optimus defeated Nemesis Prime, which fell on Silas. MECH still managed to evacuate the site with the gravely wounded Silas. The surgeon set about preserving their leader with the help of Breakdown's corpse. {{storylink|Nemesis Prime (episode)|Nemesis Prime}}

{{spoiler|The Human Factor|September 21, 2012}}
Silas was integrated with Breakdown's body by the surgeon. The newly-awakened "Cylas" decided that his rightful place was now among the [[Transformer]]s and terminated the surgeon and troopers before going to try to join the [[Decepticon]]s. Unfortunately the plan he came up with as a bargaining chip failed, and he was instead hauled away to [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]]'s dissection table. {{storylink|The Human Factor}}

As well as Project Chimera, MECH had [[Project Mechanoid]] on the go. [[Novo|Agent Novo]] retrieved the specs for a [[neuron refractor]], which the MECH technicians were able to duplicate, allowing them to transfer Novo's mind into the mechanoid body they had built. Unfortunately for them, at that point Novo decided that he was above MECH and destroyed the base. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 4.9|The Novo Incident}}
* The chartreuse cars MECH agents drive appear to be based on Chevrolet Corvettes, circa 1980.
* In a highly unusual move, MECH soldiers have been shown to be surprisingly expendable. A large number have suffered (heavily) implied deaths from everything from having their cars knocked off the road and spinning into another MECH vehicle, to having helicopters blow up without the customarily obvious parachuting to safety, to simple, [[Operation: Breakdown|spine]] [[Operation Bumblebee, Part 2|shattering]] blunt trauma. Not only are humans implied to be dying in a Transformers show, the majority have been taken out by Autobots. Damn. Add in the torture and evisceration threats and it's just not safe to walk the streets anymore.
MECH didn't get a chance to extract any technology from Arcee before Fowler arrived, but Silas was able to observe Airachnid [[scanning]] a helicopter. {{storylink|Crisscross}} Fowler was still on edge enough a bit later to at first blame a Decepticon theft on MECH. {{storylink|One Shall Fall}}

As [[Project Chimera]] neared completion, MECH set a homing beacon trap for a Transformer to investigate. When Bumblebee fell for the bait, they ambushed the Autobot and removed his [[transformation cog|T-cog]]. Back at base, they attempted to install it in their custom-made robot, only to meet with failure, however they'd been followed by the ex-Decepticon [[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]], who entered into an alliance with them. {{Storylink|Operation Bumblebee, Part 1}} After securing the necessary [[energon]], MECH tried again, but their activation of the robot was interrupted by Bumblebee. MECH was forced to retreat, minus both the cog and the robot, however they were able to obtain another cog from Starscream. {{storylink|Operation Bumblebee, Part 2}}

A group of MECH soldiers stumbled on Breakdown's dismembered body and spirited it away. {{storylink|Crossfire}} MECH finally completed Project Chimera with an [[Nemesis Prime (Prime)|almost exact copy]] of [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]]. Silas used it to turn the military against the Autobots, however the Autobots eventually located their base and attacked it. With the help of Fowler, Optimus defeated Nemesis Prime, which fell on Silas. MECH still managed to evacuate the site with the gravely wounded Silas. The surgeon set about preserving their leader with the help of Breakdown's corpse. {{storylink|Nemesis Prime (episode)|Nemesis Prime}}
Silas was integrated with Breakdown's body by the surgeon. The newly-awakened "Cylas" decided that his rightful place was now among the [[Transformer]]s and terminated the surgeon and troopers before going to try to join the [[Decepticon]]s. Unfortunately the plan he came up with as a bargaining chip failed, and he was instead hauled away to [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]]'s dissection table. {{storylink|The Human Factor}}
With Silas on a drive for revenge against Jack Darby for the incident with Airachnid, MECH began blowing up high schools in Jasper County in an attempt to draw the boy out. It didn't seem to work out as well as Silas hoped. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 4.5|School Is... Out!}}

As well as Project Chimera, MECH had [[Project Mechanoid]] on the go. [[Novo|Agent Novo]] retrieved the specs for a [[neuron refractor]], which the MECH technicians were able to duplicate, allowing them to transfer Novo's mind into the mechanoid body they had built. Unfortunately for them, at that point Novo decided that he was above MECH and destroyed the base. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 4.9|The Novo Incident}}
==Notes==
