* SG Drift was first described by FP as the "Mech with a Mouth." The phrase "Merc with a Mouth" is used to describe Marvel Comics character Deadpool. Generation 1 Drift being a silent, sullen, moody, dark anti-hero ninja, it may be fitting that his Shattered Glass opposite is a manic, fourth-wall breaking anti-villain with a thing for Bea Arthur.
* Fun Publications has explained that they wanted the character on Shattered Glass Drift's hood to mean "a doom" because Drift "brings A DOOM to any enemy he meets". They were limited to only one character, however, and could not find a singular character that embodied what they wanted to convey. This resulted in the use of the character 定 ("decided", as in "your fate is decided"?), which is "a stretch."
Runabout is not the brains of the Battlechargers (they're both pretty much dim-bulbs), but he is much calmer and certainly more articulate than Runamuck, and his presence helps keep the latter's cross-wired mind on task. That said, Runabout usually joins in with whatever mad ideas Runamuck comes up with, just to keep from being bored. Runabout is very susceptible to boredom.

Besides, Runabout loves a good wreck just as well as his crazy comrade, but it's not because he craves to create wreckage—he simply wishes to destroy, and enjoys the spectacle of chaos and big fiery explosions. To help create these he has a particle beam rifle that shoots a stream of heavy and energetic neutrons. Unfortunately, he craves destruction so much that it continually distracts him from his assigned duties.

Runabout is a little faster than Runamuck, with a 185 MPH top speed, but can only go about 550 miles. He is equally able to transform quickly, taking about .4 seconds to do so. Also like his partner, he is not averse to breaking windows or draping cylinder-wiping paper over the enemy base, or other puerile acts of vandalism. But he uses bigger words when doing so.

Sometimes dumb stubbies graffiti over his name with Over-Run.
The Battlechargers were summoned to Earth from Cybertron by Megatron, who wanted a dramatic way to announce his challenge to Optimus Prime for a fight to the death. The two reckless Decepticons left and promptly ignored their orders, and instead began to raise a bit of random highway havoc. Encountering Prowl, the two dropped firetraps and wrecked piles of cars behind them. Unable to stop them quietly on his own terms, Prowl grew angry and... was halted by Optimus Prime, who was dismayed with his recklessness. ...Perchance to Dream During a break in the mayhem, they rested in a parking lot and saw a defiant youngster expressing his disgust of family vacations through graffiti. His dad angrily escorted him back to the station wagon, and their holiday trip resumed. The Battlechargers, impressed by the boy's disregard for authority, began following the family on a road trip through the U.S., defacing any monuments they happened upon (such as Mt. Rushmore, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, and the Washington Monument). They wrote insults and jokes in a Cybertronian language, thus attracting the attention of RAAT, which had already captured thirteen Autobots.

RAAT caught up with them in Philadelphia, where Circuit Breaker engaged them in a battle that nearly killed the graffiti-inclined boy. They escaped, and took a break to learn English (not well, mind you) for their next stop, the Statue of Liberty. There they engaged Circuit Breaker once again, only this time, having been stripped of her command for her actions in their last encounter, she faced them in a giant machine jury-rigged from the Autobots RAAT had captured previously. The two hooligans met quick defeat at the hands of her makeshift gestalt, their charred bodies sent plunging into the harbor. Decepticon Graffiti!
When Shockwave wanted to wrest control of the Earth-based Decepticons from Scorponok, the Battlechargers joined his motley band of rebels. Surrender! They attacked Scorponok's New Jersey base, and a battle ensued. ...All This and Civil War 2 Just as the battle ended, the combatants were transported to Cybertron by Primus, who was gathering his Transformer children to stand against the demigod Unicron. ====Earthforce====
earthforcefiction
As the Decepticon Civil War took a different path, Runabout and Runamuck were still working on the side of Shockwave and Starscream. In a fight with the Dinobots, Runabout got his hand stamped on by Grimlock while reaching for his weapon—very painful. He stayed behind after the battle in order to get revenge, and pulled a neutron cannon on Grimlock at close range. Grimlock seemed suitably impressed by the weapon, and suggested the Battlecharger take a step or two back for his own safety because of the recoil. Seemed like a sound suggestion to Runabout so he backed himself up... right over a cliff. Dumb 'Con. Two Steps Back!

When Megatron lost a global warming satellite to the Autobots, along with its poison gas canisters, Shockwave sent the Battlechargers out to retrieve it for his own purposes. They ran into Dead End and Drag Strip at the crash site, and got into a fight over who would take possession of the rocket and its contents. Little did they know the Autobot Prowl had already removed and neutralized the rocket's contents, making their tussle utterly pointless. Life in the Slow Lane Later, after the Decepticon factions unified, Runabout and Runamuck were seen attacking the Autobot Earthbase with the full Decepticon force, but they ultimately failed to gain any ground and retreated. Divide and Conquer!

In 2006, Runabout was guarding Trypticon's city mode on Chaar with Runamuck. They were attacked by Scourge and the ghost of Starscream, who wanted to steal one of Trypticon's eyes for Unicron. Starscream possessed Runabout, shot Runamuck, then ran into a wall, knocking Runabout unconscious. Runamuck, however, was able to sound an alarm, and Dirge, Thrust, and Astrotrain arrived to help. Scourge got Trypticon's eye, and Starscream possessed Astrotrain and escaped. Later, under Unicron's orders, Starscream returned to Chaar and took control of Trypticon, not knowing that Dirge, Thrust, and the Battlechargers were inside. Starscream used Trypticon to bring Unicron's head down Cybertron's surface, but Thrust sabotaged Trypticon from within before Starscream could connect Unicron to the planet. Starscream came out of Trypticon and demanded that Unicron give him a corporeal form so he could complete the connections. Just as Unicron did so, Autobot-planted explosives detonated and sent Unicron's head back into orbit. Starscream was also flung into outer space, where Galvatron began pursuing him. Trypticon (and the Decepticons inside him) were probably thrown into space as well. Although the Battlechargers never appeared again, Trypticon and the others did, so they most likely did survive. Ghost in the Machine
Young Corgi continuity
During a mission to destroy the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Battlechargers were faced with the Autobots Hot Rod, Slingshot and Skydive. While Runamuck, who was terrified of heights, stopped at the start of the bridge, Runabout chased after Hot Rod while shooting wildly. Unfortunately, the Autobot outmanoeuvred him, and Runabout was sent careening off the bridge and into the San Francisco Bay. The battle was televised on the news and recorded by the human Jeff Grey, who later ran into Hot Rod and discussed it with him. Battle Beneath the Ice

In the early days of the war, around Optimus Prime and Megatron had their first battle, the Runabout and Runamuck duo joined Motormaster and Swindle in disabling Laserbeak and helping Starscream assume control over Megatron's plans. The War Within issue 4 About a million years later, Megatron was lost in a space bridge accident, and the Decepticons split into several splinter factions. The Battlechargers joined Starscream's faction of Predacons during this time, but were defeated at Tyger Pax by the united Autobot, Decepticon and Ultracon forces. The Age of Wrath

In modern times, the Battlechargers were working for Shockwave as assassins. In the Old Slave Trails, Runabout caught the double agent Sandstorm leading Optimus Prime to safety with the Autobot revolutionaries, and blasted a hole through the Triple Changer's chest. Moving in to eliminate Prime as well, Runabout was caught off-guard by Gnaw and was... gnawed on for a while. Cold War (issue)

Somehow he pulled himself back together, and hooked up with Runamuck again after Shockwave's fall. Dodging Autobot patrols while looking for a working CR chamber to fully repair themselves, the Battlechargers found one of Shockwave's abandoned laboratories, and accidentally unleashed the electrum-enhanced clone warrior, Sunstorm. The clone's ambient radiation considerably weakened Runabout. Then he incinerated Runabout's head. That didn't help either. Night of the Combaticons
Runabout was part of a Decepticon insurgent cell that has operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, working to destabilise Earth's governing organisations and create global anarchy. He, Runamuck and Thundercracker were assigned by Starscream to intercept the human Stoker and retrieve his SM-40 palmtop PC, containing data on their Nebraska operation. Infiltration issue 0 The team caught up with and killed Stoker outside Phoenix, AZ, by which time Verity Carlo had already stolen the SM-40. The Battlechargers' attempts to retrieve it from Verity and Ratchet blew their cover: they appeared in full public view both in primary mode and in a secondary alternate mode, where the panels of their sports-car disguises split apart to reveal weapons and ram-plates. :Sunstorm is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

If bright colors are nature's way of saying "do not touch", then nature's got nothin' on Sunstorm (サンストーム Sansutōmu). Come too close, and circuits will short, steel housing will begin to melt, and psyches will break as the mind struggles to comprehend. Science would explain that his body is aflame in radiation, but Sunstorm has different ideas.

Sometimes, Sunstorm merely believes he is secretly some kind of supernatural being, keeping his comrades away with his odd behavior. At other times, he thinks that he is the living embodiment of the Will of Primus, placed by the divine in this universe to deal righteous judgment on the blasphemous. Occasionally, he just hovers silently in the background and shoots at things.

Such is life.
The Transformers cartoon
Sunstorm was one of the Decepticon jets on Cybertron four million years ago. He shot at the Autobots Wheeljack and Bumblebee when they came near, and that's about it. More than Meets the Eye, Part 1

e-Hobby pack-in comic
On Cybertron, as a new morning began to rise, Sunstorm appeared to bask in the rays of the sun. He enthusiastically encouraged all those around him to wake up and take a good look at the beauty of a new dawn. Unfortunately, all those around him were dead Autobots whom he had just killed. Decepticon Aerospace Warrior Sunstorm
Dreamwave comics continuity
Shockwave's experiments to fit a solar-powered fusion reactor into cloned Decepticon warriors reached their fruition in Sunstorm, a clone of the treacherous Starscream. Sunstorm's structure has been augmented to endure the enormous stresses involved. He was the perfect soldier; he possessed the ability to manipulate electromagnetic energy, enhanced regenerative capabilities, and a blank slate of a mind waiting to be written according to Shockwave's design.

When the Autobots took New Iacon from Shockwave, he hurriedly uploaded the compressed contents of the supercomputer Vector Sigma to multiple locations, including the hidden cloning lab near the Epsilon border where Sunstorm lay, awaiting instructions. The upload overwhelmed the lab's mainframe, spilling over into the only other available receptacle—Sunstorm. War and Peace

Fleeing the fall of New Iacon, Decepticons Runabout and Runamuck broke into the Epsilon lab, unaware of its importance, intending to use it as a safehouse. After Runamuck amused himself by frying the lab's Mini-spy attendant, the duo accidentally awakened Sunstorm, who fried them... rather badly before his scrambled programming compelled him to depart, making his way to Earth. Night of the Combaticons

Flying down to Earth, he tried to get Starscream to join him in his crusade, though Starscream believed his clone to be completely insane. Black Sunshine Sunstorm battled with a number of Autobots, including Omega Supreme, until Starscream managed to attach an energy siphon developed by Ratchet to counter his energies. Sunstorm fled, uncovering an enormous well of energy deep below the ocean, sealed with a mechanical door bearing a Cybertronian symbol. Jetfire and Bumblebee fought to stop him from unleashing whatever power the well held, until Jetfire, sensing that Sunstorm's internal fusion reactor was growing increasingly unstable, flew the overzealous seeker into orbit. Sunstorm's reactor went critical and exploded violently, completely obliterating both of them. Atonement

Sunstorm's almost supernatural durability was credited to his augmented molecular structure, similar to that of electrum. When Ratchet's Energy Siphon suppressed the effect, he was eaten away from within by the destructive energies of his own power source.

Three years after Megatron was defeated on Earth, Sunstorm was among those Decepticons who managed to escape the human homeworld and was now under the command of the (self-proclaimed) Decepticon leader Starscream. However, with the lack of resources, poor morale and Starscream's weak leadership, the Decepticons largely collapsed into anarchy and resorted to cannibalism with not enough energon to go around. After another pointless patrol, Acid Storm and Sunstorm dejectedly sat in front of what remained of the ship that carried them to the asteroid that they now called home. All His Engines
When the Insecticons attacked an inhabited city on Earth, Optimus Prime called upon the Protectobots to evacuate the civilians caught in the crossfire. Streetwise was carrying civilians when he discovered an injured man and called First Aid over to help him. Later, as Earth's orbit was diverted to the Sun by the Combaticons, Streetwise and Groove commandeered a meat locker to keep the overheated humans cool. Streetwise assured Groove that given the constantly rising temperatures outside, the humans would not freeze to death. The Revenge of Bruticus
Streetwise, as part of Defensor, totally blew up Bruticus. Afterward, he was with the Protectobots when they saved some window-washers from a burning skyscraper, catching the humans when Blades blew them off their platform. Later still, Streetwise and the other Protectobots were ordered to help defend Autobot Headquarters from a Decepticon attack. In the year 2006, the Autobots were asked to help the Dutch authorities deal with French rebels. After dispersing the human aggressors by crashing a trash can into them, the Protectobots came under attack from the Decepticons. Streetwise expressed concern that the Decepticons didn't care how many innocent humans they killed so long as they destroyed the Protectobots. Later, it turned out the battle was only a diversion to allow Swindle to steal Metroplex's transformation cog, First Aid left the Autobots when he failed to stop the theft. Unfortunately, just as First Aid left, the Autobots were called upon to deal with a rampaging Trypticon. Hot Spot ordered the remaining Protectobots to combine into Defensor, and they successfully saved a train full of civilians, even without First Aid. The Ultimate Weapon

Later in 2006, the Protectobots arrived at the aftermath of the battle between the Technobots and Terrorcons at Mark Morgan's laboratory. They transported the injured Jessica Morgan to County General Hospital and watched over her as the doctors restored her ability to walk with an exo-skeletal structure, enraging the robo-phobic senior Morgan. When the Stunticons attacked a baseball stadium, Kenji alerted the Autobot combiners that they were needed. As the Protectobots arrived, Streetwise got the humans to safety while Hot Spot extinguished the blaze caused by the Decepticons. They transformed into Defensor, but Hot Spot was damaged in a savage attack by Menasor and Bruticus, leaving the Protectobots unable to combine. Seizing upon an idea, Kenji told Superion to shoot out the Decepticons' legs. Streetwise and First Aid then swooped in and combined with Bruticus, while their comrades did the same with Menasor. With their own legs out of control, the Decepticon combiners were tossed out over the ocean by their own limbs. {{storylink|Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers issue 5|Fight! After the Decepticons uncovered their secret building site, the Protectobots rode into battle alongside the newly completed Metroplex. Streetwise and the Protectobots joined forces with the Aerialbots for a raid on Trypticon. They intended to rescue Doctor Dalton, a scientist Galvatron had kidnapped in order to force him to use his knowledge to upgrade the Decepticons. The Aerialbots, as Superion, charged in first, but were torn to shreds by the Combaticons and Stunticons. Hot Spot went to work in his repair bay mode fixing them up, and tasked Blades with infiltrating Trypticon to recover the missing scientist. In the meantime, it was up to Streetwise, Groove and First Aid to keep Bruticus and Menasor occupied long enough for Hot Spot and Blades to complete their missions. Soon, the revived Aerialbots stepped in to save their Protectobot comrades, and Blades successfully freed the doctor from the Decepticons whle they were distracted watching the battle. The Great Transformer War issue 1
The Headmasters cartoon
In 2011, Galvatron attacked Cybertron looking to take control of Vector Sigma. Streetwise and the Protectobots were active in Cybertron's defense as Defensor during the assault. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky The Mystery of Planet Master Later, Streetwise's team assembled on Earth at Ultra Magnus's command. Their mission was to stop the Decepticons from interfering with Hot Rod and the Headmasters, who were searching for the hidden location of the Matrix of Leadership. On a security sweep, the Protectobots ran across their old nemeses, the Combaticons, and went into battle. The two teams quickly assumed their combined forms as Bruticus and Defensor, as the fighting escalated. Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime

When Galvatron made another strike on Cybertron, this time to steal the super-metal Cybertonuron, Streetwise and the Protectobots assembled before the Space Bridge on Earth to be transported into battle. Seeking out the Combaticons on the battlefield, the Protectobots soon formed Defensor and fought once more with Bruticus. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 1 Defensor and Bruticus's battle continued as Defensor delivered a devastating smash to Bruticus's back. For at least part of the battle, the two teams disassembled again for man-to-man combat, Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2

Streetwise and the Protectobots were dispatched to Peru with the Trainbots when a volcano erupted, leaving a mountainside village in dire peril. Their rescue mission was blocked by the Predacons. Shōki and the Trainbots occupied the fiends so that the Protectobots could proceed on to the village and protect the innocent lives. Nevertheless, the Protectobots failed to reach the village, as they were intercepted by the Decepticons' second wave, the Headmasters. Streetwise and the Protectobots briefly struggled with the Headmasters before forming Defensor, but that left them grouped together and vulnerable to an underhanded attack. Defensor was taken out of action by Mindwipe's paralysis ray, which was strong enough to force Streetwise and the Protectobots apart and leave them completely immobilized. The Dormant Volcano Mysteriously Erupts

Streetwise and the Protectobots were part of a strike team that flew to the moon to disrupt Scorponok's gathering of Decepticons. They immediately formed Defensor upon entering the battle. Return of the Immortal Emperor When the planet Sandra sent out a distress call asking for energy, the Autobots of Earth responded. While they were loading the Trainbots full of supplies, however, Galvatron and the Decepticons arrived to take the energy for themselves. Streetwise and the Protectobots fought back against the enemy, and formed Defensor to counter Devastator on the battlefield. SOS from Planet Sandra

After the death of Ultra Magnus, the Autobots were desperately trying to pick up the slack during Sixshot's campaign of destruction around the globe. Streetwise and the Protectobots assembled as Defensor to go out and confront Sixshot at one of the attack sites, but they apparently didn't fare too well. The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg When the Decepticons seemingly abandoned Earth, Streetwise and the Protectobots assisted Spike in rebuilding the planet after the enemy's departure. On one occasion, they located Sixshot's old command base. By combining into Defensor, the Protectobots helped Raiden and Computron obliterate the base, wiping out all trace of the Decepticons' presence. Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 1)

Following a lengthy period of inactivity, the Decepticons renewed their attacks on Earth. With Fortress still off in space, Spike Witwicky dispatched Streetwise and the Protectobots to attend to the threats. In Canberra, Australia, the Protectobots confronted Bruticus at one of Scorponok's new Death Towers. As Defensor, the Protectobots were beaten severely by Bruticus, and First Aid was even knocked out of the arm socket. Using Scramble Power, Defensor switched Streetwise up to his shoulder and reattached First Aid as a leg, still carrying his fireball cannon. Despite this cunning(?) trick, Defensor was defeated by Bruticus. The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 1) As part of Defensor, Streetwise participated in the Autobots final battle with Scorponok's Decepticons at the North Pole. Though Buster Witwicky had given the Creation Matrix back to Optimus Prime, its influence was still present in his mind. He and Prime had their minds connected to a machine, where they shared a vision of a "Second Generation" of Transformers. Streetwise was the member of the Protectobots, one of four Special Teams. In this vision, Streetwise and his fellow Protectobots combined into Defensor and fought the Decepticons Bruticus and Menasor. But Megatron and Soundwave were listening in on this vision, and both sides planned to make it reality. Second Generation!
On their first mission, the Protectobots joined Optimus Prime in protecting Energy Futures Industries and the hydrothermocline from Megatron and the Combaticons. After agreeing to battle for the prize in a virtual reality so that neither the hydrothermocline nor innocent bystanders would be harmed, Optimus and the Protectobots entered the bizarre landscape of Multi-World. Searching for the Combaticons, Streetwise and First Aid entered Vineland. On a hunch, Streetwise chose to lift a falling web of vines out of their path instead of blasting through it. This left them open to attack by Brawl and Swindle, but it also earned the respect of the living vines populating Vineland, who entangled the Combaticons long enough for the Protectobots to beat their opponents. Streetwise did so by shattering the enemies with his air-compressor cannon after First Aid crystallized them. Afterdeath!

After the Multi-World battle led to the death of Optimus Prime, Streetwise watched with the other active Autobots as Ratchet attempted to bring their leader back to life. This failed, and so Streetwise and the Protectobots escorted Optimus Prime's body to his funeral site, where he would be launched into space. Funeral for a Friend! The Protectobots fell under the command of Grimlock. During the battle, Streetwise blinded Vortex with his photon pistol. Used Autobots They successfully arrested Blaster, but ran into the Combaticons yet again while Streetwise was reporting the mission results to the Ark. This battle went poorly compared to the past ones, as the Protectobots were defeated by Bruticus, the Combaticons' combined form. Child's Play (issue)

Later, Streetwise helped a young boy teach Starscream the meaning of Christmas. Okay, so actually he was trying to shoot Starscream. And sure, Starscream didn't actually learn the meaning of Christmas so much as deliberately fake it in order to piss off Streetwise because the humans liked him better than the Autobot. During the so-called Dark Ages, when Optimus Prime and Megatron vanished in a space bridge accident, Streetwise stuck with his Protectobot team after the signing of the Crisis Intervention Accord. Whilst in their base at Iacon, Streetwise reported the rumour of the Ultracon Devastator having been unleashed in the Tagan Heights against Springer's Wreckers. Deciding that they could not afford to ignore this or let the combiner arms race begin once again, the Proctectobots rolled out to assist the Wreckers. Arriving in Tagan Heights, they formed the mighty Defensor and the battle of the titans was on. Escalation Unfortunately, they could not control Defensor's dim-witted battle lust, and were forced to separate and find a less destructive means of taking down Devastator. While Devastator manhandled Springer, the Protectobots hooked him up to a nearby power generator. Streetwise was one of many Autobot survivors who made it through Megatron's all-out attack on their defense network. In the two years following the attack, he made his way to Earth and united with Optimus Prime and the Autobots stationed there. In order to keep an eye on the humans, Streetwise and Prowl infiltrated the police force in their alternate modes. Both were present for an emergency response to Breakdown attacking a power plant. The robot hunters of Skywatch arrived and disabled the Decepticon, but then proceeded as if they were going to execute him on the scene. Despite Streetwise's words of caution, Prowl transformed to stop the execution and was captured. Streetwise maintained his cover and reported the incident back to Prime. ...For All Mankind

Later, Streetwise was among the Autobots who remained on Earth along with Prowl, Ultra Magnus, and Bumblebee (as well as others) instead of accompanying Optimus and the rest of the Autobots to Cybertron to find out what Galvatron was up to. He participated in an investigation of Spike Witwicky's "secret" activities by taking turns trailing the human in his alt form along with Prowl. Prowl and Streetwise followed Spike to a suburban district. However, when Breakdown appeared and attempted to kill Spike by running him over, Streetwise converted to primary form and attacked the Decepticon, much to Prowl's chagrin. Breakdown was damaged and forced to retreat. Prowl and Streetwise then returned to base, where both of them were harshly reprimanded by Ultra Magnus. Police Action: Part 1
Cliffjumper (Cliff to his chums) isn't your run-of-the-mill Autobot freedom fighter. Armed with six-cylinder ion cannons, a quantum-sensitive multiphase targeting system that would make Megatron jealous, and of course, the old-school technique of pummeling Decepticons with his fists, Cliffjumper prefers to liven up the day with firefights while retrieving enemy intelligence. ==Fiction==
Exodus
Cliffjumper concurred with Ironhide that while Sentinel Prime was not an Autobot, he deserved to be rescued. He and Ultra Magnus's Wreckers later escorted Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Jetfire to the Well of All Sparks when they made their journey to purge Cybertron's core of Dark Energon. Transformers: Exodus

Prime comics
When the Decepticons returned to their dead homeworld, Cliffjumper went in with all guns blazing to investigate. The Eradicons piled onto him, grappling him until he was unconscious. He awoke to find himself in their base, which Cliffjumper commented looked like the sort of lair Starscream would design. An Eradicon said Cliffjumper would live until he was no longer useful, and asked him to decode an offworld Autobot signal. It came from none other than Optimus himself, ordering his forces to gather on a planet called Earth. Awed, Cliffjumper then turned to his interrogator and said all the decoded message said was, "Megatron smells like Unicron's armpit." The infuriated Eradicon ordered Cliffjumper's demise just before Arcee burst in, slaughtering the Decepticons.

Cliffjumper tried to greet his old colleague, but she told him to be quiet, coldly informing him she had not come to rescue him, but to tap into the Decepticons' communications. Finding the coordinates of the enemy's weapons lab in Kaon, she was prepared to go by herself until Cliffjumper convinced her that Kaon was too dangerous for her stealthy ways, and that she needed his brawn to back her brain. Entering the city through its maintenance tunnels, Arcee opened a secret passage. As he travelled up an ancient staircase, Cliffjumper's suspicions were confirmed when he saw Starscream overseeing the reactivation of a space bridge. Arcee wanted to destroy the device, but Cliffjumper saw it as their ticket to Earth. He distracted Starscream by going straight to him and his Eradicons, claiming he wanted to join them. Arcee activated the device, and when Starscream noticed, Cliffjumper jumped his pretense and started a fight, then jumped with Arcee into the space bridge.

As he plummeted, Cliffjumper momentarily wondered if he was one with the AllSpark, but Arcee confirmed they had fallen onto Earth. Finding a ghost town, they scanned their alternate modes. Cliffjumper disdained a passing travel trailer (which he found too ugly) and a truck (which was too bulky) before selecting a muscle car, which Arcee found suitably noisy. He added horns on the hood of his new alternate mode as a finishing touch. As the two drove to find Optimus, Starscream—who had also jumped into the space bridge—attacked them, blasting off Arcee's arm. Cliffjumper fought Starscream and buried him under a pile of rocks, but then Breakdown appeared. It seemed like the end, but Optimus and Bumblebee came and fought off the two Decepticons before opening a ground bridge to their base and sending Arcee through for repairs. Optimus told Cliffjumper his journey was over, but a new battle was just beginning. Transformers: Prime (comic)

During the Great War, Cliffjumper and Bumblebee invaded the lair of Airachnid, who had captured Arcee and Tailgate. Airachnid had already killed Tailgate by the time Cliffjumper and Bumblebee arrived, but they were able to pull a shellshocked Arcee to safety. Predatory

Long after the Great Exodus, and three years after the last reported Decepticon activity on Earth, Cliffjumper was still marooned on the planet with his fellow Autobots. Still a strong-willed individual, Cliffjumper had sometimes run afoul of human authorities, resulting in receiving multiple traffic tickets and once having a boot affixed to his tire due to a parking violation. As he chatted with his closest friend, Arcee, over the radio, she admonished him for his stubborn bullheadedness. He countered that Earth was so boring that sometimes he just had to stir things up.

Just as Cliffjumper noted that he was starting to miss the Decepticons, his scanners caught nearby activity. He declined Arcee's suggestion for backup and sped off in the direction of the disturbance. He was surprised to find a wide crater full of energon, and even more surprised to find it guarded by the Decepticons! Overwhelming Decepticon forces demanded Cliffjumper put up a ferocious fight, but ultimately, the Autobot was overcome and taken on board the Nemesis, the Decepticons' warship, and thrown in front of Starscream. The interim Decepticon commander did not respond well to Cliffjumper's irreverence, and the Autobot was stabbed through the chest. Starscream then ordered his troops to clean up the body.

The remaining Earthbound Autobots arrived on the scene too late, and Ratchet confirmed that Cliffjumper's spark had gone offline. Finding one of Cliffjumper's horns in the dirt, Arcee took the piece of her friend to the Autobots' memorial service. The loss of Cliffjumper hit her the hardest, and she stormed off amidst their eulogies, preferring to honor Cliffjumper's memory by keeping Earth safe. Ratchet confided in Optimus Prime that as long as the Autobots protected humanity, Cliffjumper's death would not be the only tragedy. Darkness Rising, Part 1

Though Cliffjumper had died, his body still had uses. When Megatron wanted a corpse on which to test Dark Energon's resurrection powers, Cliffjumper's was used as a guinea pig. Once his torso was stabbed through by a shard of the material, Cliffjumper did spring back to life...though as a psychotic, screaming zombie that attacked anything in its path! Only being sliced in two by Megatron stopped Cliffjumper's rampage, and his two halves decorated varying levels of the Decepticons' energon mine.

The initial Dark Energon stabbing did briefly bring Cliffjumper's spark back online, but when Ratchet's sensors picked this up, he dismissed it as a glitch. Regardless, Arcee wanted to investigate. After the Autobots mounted an attack on the Decepticons, Arcee found the top half of Cliffjumper strewn about, but was horrified to see the monster that he had become. Whatever this thing was, it was no longer Cliffjumper, so the zombie was left behind as the Decepticon base exploded. Darkness Rising, Part 2

When Arcee encountered Arachnid once again, she taunted Arcee by bringing up the deaths of Tailgate and Cliffjumper. Predatory

Later, at Cliffjumper's memorial, Arcee said she had not given up on finding the Decepticon responsible for his death. When she discovered their prisoner Starscream was responsible, she attempted to kill him, only to stop when a shocked Bumblebee convinced her to stop and let him escape. She reflected to Optimus that her desire for vengeance had not brought the solace she sought. Partners

While under the influence of synthetic energon, Ratchet brought up Cliffjumper's death as something Prime should have been more proactive in preventing. Stronger, Faster
He more than lives up to his name: He'll fearlessly leap long before he bothers looking!
Fiction

During the Great War, the Transformer civilization was split in half on their homeworld of Cybertron as many chose to either side with the Autobots or the Decepticons. Those that did not choose a side had little hope of surviving as carnage engulfed the world in a conflict the likes of which had never been previously seen. It was during this time that the members that made up the Circle of Light gathered in order to contemplate the future. They considered themselves to be the guardians of Cybertron's ancient culture. They preached against the creation of factions and its members believed that the Great War was the result of overwhelming corruption in their nation which led to the civil war. Many that came to the Circle of Light were scholars and scientists though there were some who were simply fleeing for their lives as they did not want to take part in an ideological battle. Thus, they decided to abandon their homeworld during the fighting and headed off into space in order to find a place where they could live in peace. Initially, they managed to settle but as the war expanded to other worlds and systems; the Cybertronians that made up the Circle of Light decided that they needed to find a new hiding spot. Ultimately, they found one on a distant world where they hid their civilization underground and away from prying eyes.

Thus, they rescued thousands in an attempt at preserving what they believed was the true Cybertronian way of life. Underground, they built a great city where they lived a utopian lifestyle with no sickness, poverty or a government that left its citizens lost within the cracks of society. To ensure their survival, a set of laws were formed where the Circle did not involve themselves in the affairs of outsiders or even allowed foreigners to enter the city. This was part of a single minded objective of their own survival and the preservation of the lifestyle they had managed to forge in hiding. One of the members of the Circle of Light called Wing managed to save the life of the Decepticon warrior Deadlock who he brought to the underground city. There, Dai Atlas was displeased by Wing's actions as he believed the Decepticon could potentially be a corruptive presence for their society or worse, bring more of his kind to their settlement. Unfortunately, their society was quickly threatened when the Decepticon Lockdown and a band of alien slavers tracked Drift to the planet. Noticing that Drift had recently been rebuilt, they were instantly suspicious of what company Drift had been keeping on this planet, and they demanded Drift's benefactors be traded for his freedom. Drift returned to the Circle of Light and told them of his dilemma, but swore that he would not betray his new home. Despite this, Dai Atlas was reasonably outraged, and swore off battle even in the face of his civilization's extinction. But Dai Atlas was alone in his fear of war, and the rest of the Circle of Light pledged their allegiance to Drift's plan. Since Lockdown and the slavers did not know the Circle of Light's true number, a decoy spaceship was constructed to make it appear that a few stragglers had recently crash-landed on the planet, protecting the location of Crystal City. Drift, who was rebuilt completely to match his newfound peers, joined Wing, Axe, and a handful of sworded warriors who were willing to face Lockdown and the slavers to protect their way of life. Drift issue 3
Sure enough, the two groups met in ferocious battle, and the casualties were quickly mounting up on both sides. While Drift attempted revenge (badly), Dai Atlas reconsidered his previous stance on war. Refusing to let any more of his friends die on his behalf, he rose Crystal City to the surface of the planet and unleashed the rest of its inhabitants on their intruders.

This led to the burden of responsibility of watching over Deadlock being placed on Wing in order to ensure that their society did not collapse due to his actions. Drift issue 2
While he is a calm, quiet and intelligent being, like all Gigantions he is immense in size and strength. He is tasked with forever building cities on his homeworld, and then immediately abandoning them as a way to forever look to their peaceful future and avoid the past, which was wartorn and violent.
:Voice actor: Ron Halder (English), Masafumi Kimura (Japanese)
picsneeded
Metroplex first encountered the Autobots when a team of theirs happened to be present at the raising of Gigantion's newest city. Though he and his second-in-command, Quickmix, were initially wary of the visitors, they became more friendly when the Autobots assured him that they weren't from Planet X.

Optimus Prime explained the need to find Gigantion's Cyber Planet Key. Metroplex suspected it might be deep in one of the lower levels, but insisted that going deeper into the planet was forbidden by law and custom. Before they could start looking, however, an alert sounded—Menasor, a brash young punk, had teamed up with the Decepticons and was attempting to drill down into the lower levels.

Everybody rushed down to the room where the Decepticons had gathered, and Metroplex focused his attention on Megatron and Nemesis Breaker. Metroplex used his axe, Sparkdrinker, on them, which destroyed Nemesis Breaker and opened a tunnel down to the depths of Gigantion, through which all the Decepticons jumped.

With their planet now in danger, Metroplex and Quickmix realized that they needed to violate tradition to protect their world. They donned Autobot insignias and joined Optimus Prime's team in the quest for the final Key. Giant This ran into a snag because that tradition was also responsible for all records from before the building of the new city being wiped, and so the Autobots had to unload a lot of equipment from the Ogygia to get a fix on the Key's location.

They found it, but in the meantime, Megatron managed to tap into the Key's power and was reformatted into Galvatron. Galvatron went on a spree of destruction against the Autobots, culminating in a duel against Metroplex in which he stopped the giant's axe with just a single finger. Finally, Optimus Prime engaged Galvatron and defeated him using Sparkdrinker.

After some repairs, the Autobots continued on their way into the depths of Gigantion, and en route came across the Atlantis, on which Bud, Jolt, and Reverb were being held captive by Starscream and Sideways. Fury After a rescue mission, the Autobots split into five teams in order to find a way down to the center of the planet.

Metroplex was assigned to the team with Optimus Prime, Vector Prime, Bud, and the Mini-Cons. In the course of their exploration, they came across a low level lit up by a brilliant blue artificial sky. Almost immediately, Jolt was grabbed by Ransack and Crumplezone, but was rescued by Coby in his robot. Once again, Metroplex lent Sparkdrinker to Optimus Prime in order to send the Decepticons packing. City They had a little bit more trouble with the devilish duo. Ambush and later rejoined Override's team, at which point they learned the story of Planet X. Challenge

As they travelled on, Metroplex was impressed with Bud's leadership skills as he organized the Mini-Cons, skills he would later pass on to Scourge. The little ones accidentally fell down a secret passage, which persuaded Metroplex that the tales about hidden Mini-Con zones must be true.

The Autobots pressed on down into the lowest level of Gigantion, where they found Bud giving an impromptu leadership seminar to Scourge and the Mini-Cons. Some of the Autobots beat up Scourge a bit, and then they all went on their way. Scourge (episode)

At another area in the lowest level, Metroplex guided the Autobots to where he thought the lost city of Lemuria might be, and he was somewhat bemused when Wing Saber and Override sped ahead to check it out. As soon as they arrived, Galvatron and Menasor burst through the sky, and Menasor took on Metroplex.

As the two giants battled, the source of Menasor's frustration came out: He was angry that Metroplex had always treated him as inferior just because he was young, and Galvatron actually gave him some respect. Menasor actually managed to gain the upper hand, knocking Metroplex to the ground, and was about to kill him when Drill Bit popped out of Metroplex's chest cavity and blocked him. Immediately thereupon, Heavy Load popped out of Menasor's chest and did the same thing.

Seeing this display of courage and camaraderie touched both the bulks' hearts. Metroplex realized that while Menasor was going down the wrong road, he himself had been young and arrogant at one time, and acting all high and mighty was counter-productive. The two shared a friendly reconciliation, and Menasor rejoined the fight on the Autobots' side. For the third time, Metroplex lent his axe to Optimus Prime, who used it to smash Galvatron. The Autobots now had all four Cyber Planet Keys and the Omega Lock Optimus (episode), but their luck was about to change.

With all four Keys, the Lock opened a gateway to the universe from which the non-Gigantions had originally come, but it was immediately stolen by Galvatron. Galvatron used the Lock's power to destroy Starscream, Sideways, and Soundwave, and then made off with the Lock, leaving the Autobots stranded in Metroplex's universe. Showdown After a failed attempt to re-open the space bridge with technology, Metroplex asked why they couldn't just go back the way they had come, and it was explained that the portal only came into existence once a year. With no other way to get back, Vector Prime sacrificed his own life to send them all back in time to return to the universe of the Gigantion's ancestors. Guardian (episode)

In the other universe, Metroplex, Quickmix, and Menasor took a temporary leave of the other Autobots and piloted the Lemuria back to Gigantion to collect reinforcements. They managed to arrive at Cybertron just as Galvatron and his remaining forces were preparing to launch a final attack, during which the combined forces of Velocitron, Jungle Planet, and Earth also arrived. Homecoming (episode)

However, Galvatron was not defeated yet. Using the power of the Lock and Keys, he enlarged his troops to gargantuan size and set them to attack the Autobots. Metroplex, Quickmix, and Menasor took on Ransack, who was now their size, and beat him without too much trouble.

Meanwhile, Galvatron sped to the heart of the black hole and used the Lock to enhance its expansion from within. Optimus Prime followed and was joined by Metroplex long with Override, Scourge, and Evac, each representing their respective worlds. Galvatron used the Lock's power to enlarge himself, but the five planet leaders took him down with a massive combined blast of power. In a final act of spite, Galvatron hurled the Lock and Keys into the absolute deepest, darkest part of the black hole to ensure that if he couldn't have them, nobody could.

Metroplex managed to grab the Gigantion Key, while the other leaders retrieved their own Keys and Optimus Prime grabbed the Lock. They combined the five parts and used them to completely revive Primus, who used his full power to seal the singularity once and for all. End

The universe may have been saved, but there was still work to do. Jungle Planet had been jolted out of its normal orbit over the course of the war, and while Optimus Prime dealt with a not-quite-dead Galvatron, Metroplex and the others all worked to restore Jungle Planet to its proper location in the cosmos. After an almighty effort, they succeeded, and then stopped by on one of Cybertron's moons to watch Optimus Prime finally kill Galvatron once and for all. Unfinished.

Later, Metroplex attended the first interplanetary peace conference to represent Gigantion. He enthusiastically supported Optimus Prime's suggestion to follow in the footsteps of the Ancients and build a new space bridge network across the galaxy. He was given command of one of the starships and blasted off for parts unknown.

At some point, he arranged a construction project with Signal Lancer, Undermine, and Brimstone. Beginning
