:Computron is an evil Autobot combiner from the "Shattered Glass" continuity family.

Computron is the combined form of the evil Technobots, that once was a cruel genius formed by the union of the brilliant intellects of his components. He eventually further developed his own independent and egotistical mind free of the Technobots' individual shortcomings, causing the Technobots to become addicted to combining into him whenever possible.

Then one day Computron's ego drove him to try to imbue intelligence into the dimwitted Grimlock. The operation backfired and corrupted Computron's processors, causing him to become mentally deficient and the Technobots' neuroses to go from being suppressed to worse than when they are apart. However, Computron's ego remained unaffected, and he continues to both act as if he were still intelligent and compel the Technobots' addiction to forming him, often with disastrous results.

Optimus Prime enjoys the now dimwittedly brutish Computron too much to give in to the Technobots' demands for repairs, and recently Alpha Trion has persuaded Computron to join his side so he can also take advantage of the combiner's destructive power.

Computron is comprised of:
*Scattorshot (leader)
*Afterburner
*Lightspeed
*Nosecone
*Strafe

Fiction
Shattered Glass
When Alpha Trion returned from his exile to his laboratory, the Technobots were among the ones who came to rejoin his service and help detain Breakaway, Landquake, and Topspin. Reunification: Part 1

When the three managed to escape, Computron eventually was sent out to find and deal with them. The three's most recent visitor Aquarius was able to delay Computron's arrival with a "slow time" bubble, but eventually the bubble faded and Computron tore the roof off the building the three had chosen as a hideout. Reunification: Part 3 Landquake blinded Computron temporarily with his arm guns, and the four made a run for it again. Computron's sight eventually recovered, and he pursued the fleeing robots.

As the chase approached the Decepticon base, Abominus appeared and confronted Computron, distracting him enough for the others to enter the base. Reunification: Part 4

Trivia
* The color scheme of Shattered Glass Computron is clearly based on his G1 counterpart's nemesis, Abominus.
* Computron's attempt to give Grimlock intelligence is a reversal of the Generation 1 episode "Grimlock's New Brain", where Grimlock sacrificed his newfound intelligence to give the Technobots intelligence.
:Aquarius is a Quintesson from the "Shattered Glass" continuity family.

Like, Aquarius isn't the same as his fellow Quintessons, man. While the rest of his race harp on great care in dealing with other races, Aquarius moves to the beat of a different drum, you dig? He loves to explore other races and cultures; the years of study and meticulous guidance of a planet's culture and spirituality that normal Quintesson protocol insists upon just isn't his bag. Aquarius wants to share enlightenment with other species through righteous hands-on interaction, and he's gotta do what his heart wants, even if the Man ain't copacetic with it.

Aquarius is a strange kinda cat, possessing a consciousness that's been split into five distinct and independent, yet highly co-operative personalities: Joy, Compassion, Peace, Love and Satisfaction. He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. To uses his powers to the fullest, though, he's gotta be feelin' good vibrations; bad karma can seriously harsh his mellow, y'know?

Shattered Glass
ongoing
Activating a pocket of "slow time" so he could act without external interference, Aquarius approached Landquake, Topspin and Breakaway to reiterate what the three robots had been hearing a lot lately: that they had "big responsibilities" on Cybertron. Aquarius claimed it was he, rather than Alpha Trion, who had brought them back to the planet, and proceeded to inform the trio of Optimus Prime's latest and deadliest project: the creation of Omega Doom. To stop Omega Doom, Aquarius told them they would need to find the fifth member of their group, Heatwave, by talking to Megatron. Before he could give them any further information, his slow time bubble expired, and Computron came smashing into the building. Reunification: Part 3

Aquarius finished his explanation as the five of them made a run for it. He had discovered that the Omega Terminus was linked through a multiversal network to another computer called Vector Sigma, which had a program available that could recall a weapon/warrior. Activating said program had brought the four gestalt members to his universe.

Eventually the five successfully reached the Decepticon base. After Landquake explained their situation, Aquarius agreed with Megatron that he hoped there could be a beneficial alliance between the Quintessons and the Decepticons, though he wished it was under better circumstances. Unfortunately, further negotiations and explanations were cut short when Cyclonus shot Megatron on Alpha Trion's orders. Reunification: Part 4

Notes
*Aquarius's faces are based on those of real-life individuals particularly famous for the values the visages represent. The face of "Joy" appears to be the based on the face of Buddha, while the other faces are easier to determine; "Compassion" is Martin Luther King, Jr, "Peace" is Gandhi, "Love" is Beatles singer John Lennon (who professed that it was "all you need"), and "Satisfaction" is... sort of the odd one out, as it's Grateful Dead singer Jerry Garcia, and is named for the band's song, "Satisfaction". Satisfaction's colors, however, are a direct homage to another groovy bearded musician, The Electric Mayhem's keyboardist Dr. Teeth from the Muppets.
* Aquarius's name derives from the "Age of Aquarius", the hippie era of the 1960s, as well as the song named after it. The Shattered Glass Quintessons are designed entirely around the hippie culture, from their pursuit of peace, love and enlightenment to their abandonment of the concept of property and ownership to their rainbow-colored energy beams; all of which is, of course, a complete inversion of the traditional greedy, materialistic Quintessons. Even Aquarius's psychedelic holograms could be based on the heavy drug use associated with the time. Dude, that's like, totally far out.
Spittor is a disgusting creature, even to other Decepticons. Not only is he extremely lazy and a shameless liar, but constantly slobbers his oozing slime and spreads his foul stench everywhere, making him both physically and mentally repulsive. His alternate mode is a frog-like bipedal all-terrain walker. In this form, he lashes out tongue-like cables that grab his victims, pulling them into his gaping maw. Once swallowed, his victims are either digested, or coated in combustible slime and spat out, making them living (and stinking) bombs.
Reluctantly, the team fled. TransWarped
And lo, it is the time of the Gathering...

Synopsis
Once again, the origin of the Transformers is related, this time by Primus through his possessed body of Emirate Xaaron. He has gathered the combined Autobots and Decepticons of Earth and Cybertron to their home planet in order to battle Unicron in his name. As Primus names Optimus Prime leader of the combined Cybertronian forces, a lone Autobot slinks away from the rear of the gathering.

Aboard the Ark, Grimlock and the Dinobots are surprised to return to the ship and not only find it completely empty of life, but the planet Earth totally devoid of Transformers as well. As they set course for Cybertron, Grimlock commands Sludge to begin pumping Nucleon into the stasis pods to revive the fallen warriors. As the process begins, the panels gently remind us of Megatron's presence among those in inactivity.

Back on Cybertron, Circuit Breaker's fragile little mind is about to pop, as she is surrounded by her worst nightmare. G.B. Blackrock asks Prime to get Primus to return him and the Neo-Knights to Earth, but the god teleports away instead of listening to Optimus' plea.

Nearby, the mind-controlled hordes of Unicron have gathered, and are preparing to carry out his will and bring death to Optimus Prime.

As Scorponok makes an excuse to speak to Prime alone, he confesses to his opposite number a growing fear of dying. Optimus expresses a similar sentiment, and also confides in Scorponok his growing distaste for being manipulated by their "god", against their will. Still, he is bound and determined to face his death with nobility and resolve, if his time has truly come. As the two leaders grow closer, they are suddenly besieged by Unicron's cultists.

Scorponok quickly realizes that the cultists are completely uninterested in him, and seek only Optimus Prime's death. After briefly toying with the idea of leaving Prime to his doom, Scorponok vigorously returns to the battle and saves Prime from oncoming death. One cultist prepares to drop a grenade down on the fighters, but is caught by Galvatron, who forces the Cybertronian to eat his own grenade before sending up a signal flare to summon reinforcements for Prime and Scorponok.

Meanwhile... the Creation Matrix has finished repairing its vessel, the deranged Thunderwing. It hungers for a new sensation... revenge!

As the various Autobots and Decepticons rush to their leaders' aid, the battle quickly turns in their favor. Scorponok is slowly torturing the last of the cultists, when Prime steps in and stops him. He suspects the Cybertronians aren't acting of their own accord, and therefore are innocent victims of Unicron.

Primus confirms Optimus Prime's suspicions, explaining that Unicron managed to place a "sleeper program" in several of Primus's creations eons ago, creating hidden wolves in the fold. Primus deliberately named Optimus Prime leader in order to draw out these cultists, and test the strength of the Cybertronian Alliance.

Just as Optimus is about to give Primus a piece of his mind for all these manipulations, Kup delivers one of the best lines in history, as Unicron has arrived.
Items of note
* The UK version of this story is one page longer. The opening page was expanded into a double-page spread in UK issue 317, incorporating the inside-front-cover of the comic, where a description of the issue's contents usually resided.
* This issue is the first US appearance for Battletrap and Quake.
* Snarl finds only one Transformer life-sign on Earth, seemingly split into two parts. This may seem to be a reference to Spike Witwicky and Fortress Maximus, but Fort Max is stored aboard the Ark. Another option might be Spike and his control helmet.
* Transformers Universe profiles for Darkwing and Dreadwind are found after the main story.
* Little character moments and jokes can be seen in the page 4-5 splash. Bludgeon is grimly cleaning his sword; Nightbeat has noticed the Neo-Knights helicopter that he brought with him; Dreadwing is ignoring the speech to tell Darkwing a funny joke, which confuses Sureshot and annoys Highbrow and two other Autobots (one who's being held back by the other); an Autobot in the back is pretending to shoot Soundwave; Starscream is looking at his woozy "ally" Shockwave with contempt; Apeface is peeling himself a yummy banana, much to Horri-Bull's amusement; and Triggerhappy is looking the other way entirely for no reason.
*This was the last Dutch Generation 1 comic printed by Junior Press.
