So one day Hasbro decided, full out, "How can we break TFWiki's brains," and created these little guys that are a continuity family's worst nightmare: http://www.allspark.com/content/view/9850/20/ --[[User:ItsWalky|ItsWalky]] 11:00, 19 January 2012 (EST)
: I guess, really, they'll probably go in with Aligned, even though it's guys with G1 heads featuring movie characters like Barricade and DOTM Sentinel Prime. --[[User:ItsWalky|ItsWalky]] 11:01, 19 January 2012 (EST)
::I think that would be the best and easiest solution, yes. (Does Sentinel Zeta Prime count as "Sentinel Prime"?) [[User:Interrobang|—Interrobang]] 13:26, 19 January 2012 (EST)
:::God dammit, Aaron. I will hate you forever. -[[User:LV|LV]] 14:14, 19 January 2012 (EST)
::::On the bright side, if they're part of Aligned, the articles don't get an unfortunate parenthetical. --[[User:Abates|abates]] 22:36, 19 January 2012 (EST)
:In non Sentinel Prime news, I suspect they'll be sold in packaging that matches something else. But if not, well, we knew this day was coming sooner or later. -[[User:LV|LV]] 22:46, 19 January 2012 (EST)

Not going to work too well, as a number of the figures now revealed clearly take designs ques from other lines. Jetfire, for instance, is clearly G1-based. Lockdown is from the movie line. Topspin is from Dark of the Moon. Mirage is... confused. For the time being, I changed the character links to match the closest 'source' for each figure, but I imagine that Bot Shots will either have it's own play brand (like RPMs) anyway. Either that, or Walky's brain will explode. - [[User:Vanguard|Vanguard]] 14:53, 30 January 2012 (EST)
:It does seem like a multiversal toyline ala Robot Heroes. We'll need to amend the note if we're going to treat it that way though. --[[User:Abates|abates]] 15:37, 30 January 2012 (EST)
::Personally, I would just wait for ToyFair and see how Hasbro's officially selling it and have done with it. It's only a couple of weeks away now, anyway. - [[User:Vanguard|Vanguard]] 15:42, 30 January 2012 (EST)
:::The Bot Shots Prime looks much more like an amalgamation of various versions of the character, to me. He has a cab that looks a heck of a lot more like Armada Prime's vehicle mode, even with a robot mode that skews closer to G1. [[Special:Contributions/141.218.8.33|141.218.8.33]] 20:42, 30 January 2012 (EST)
::I think we can call it settled now. Bot Shots are their own subline, according to their packaging. (www.allspark.com). So, they're effectively either NOT in continuity, like Robot Heroes, or are their OWN continuity... let the admin figure that one out! - [[User:Vanguard|Vanguard]] 13:26, 1 February 2012 (EST)
:::RPMs are their own line, and yet RPMs is not its own continuity family. --[[User:ItsWalky|ItsWalky]] 13:43, 1 February 2012 (EST)
::::RPMs were also almost completely made of movie characters that looked like their movie versions, with only a couple of exceptions. Bot Shots have, so far, ZERO characters that look like their Prime counterparts. In fact, the designs are all over the place, with G1 or the movies getting the bulk of the attention. - [[User:Vanguard|Vanguard]] 14:21, 1 February 2012 (EST)
::::I'll admit I'm only basing this on the cardback image Rhinox posted on the 'Spark, but would that mean the Bot Shots Sentinel Prime is the same Sentinel as the Kre-O one? Because that's the one it ressembles. --[[User:Detour|Detour]] 13:44, 1 February 2012 (EST)
:::::May I recommend the 'Aligned by default, unless they obviously go elsewhere' treatment?
::::::But, so far, none of the toys actually are of the 'aligned' continuity... - [[User:Vanguard|Vanguard]] 14:21, 1 February 2012 (EST)
:::::Also can we ask which continuity [[Sky Lynx (Energon Wars)]] belongs to for one of our Hasbro Q&A's? -[[User:Derik|Derik]] 13:49, 1 February 2012 (EST)
::::::Movie-Verse. This was already fielded on WOTC's forums. (Edit: Just to clarify this point, the ENTIRE Energon Wars set is part of licensing for the movie line. That means that Optimus Primal and Beast Megatron, from this set, are officially movie-verse as well. Probably not the best logic to go with for the wiki, though.) - [[User:Vanguard|Vanguard]] 14:21, 1 February 2012 (EST)
:::::::The Movieverse crossed over with the Beast Wars already. Just try to think of it in that context. ;) -[[User:Derik|Derik]] 22:36, 6 February 2012 (EST)
I think making them all Aligned is a pretty terrible idea. I also think making them their own universe when they almost certainly won't have any unique fiction or characterization is terrible, especially when many of them are based on really specific models. We DID assign Attacktix figures to their own various continuity families, so it's not without precedence. But if we do that, there WILL be arguments. -[[User:LV|LV]] 21:05, 1 February 2012 (EST)

<nowiki>*facepalm*</nowiki> Okay, Bumblebee and Prime currently link to their G1 selves, I guess. Well, sure, that's because their heads are very Classicsy, but that's all that's classicsy. Bumblebee's body is very strongly movie based, as is Optimus Prime's, and they both transform into vehicles that most closely resemble their movie versions. And yet, you know, G1 heads. Putting either "G1" or "Movie" down as their continuity-of-origin seems incredibly dishonest. --[[User:ItsWalky|ItsWalky]] 20:19, 6 February 2012 (EST)
:Could we just link them to the Disambig pages. That kinda works for me.--[[Special:Contributions/76.28.76.206|76.28.76.206]] 20:26, 6 February 2012 (EST)
::It doesn't really solve the question of whose pages the actual toy writeups go on. -[[User:LV|LV]] 20:58, 6 February 2012 (EST)
:::Maybe it would just be simpler to have "Optimus Prime (BS)" :P --[[User:Abates|abates]] 22:46, 6 February 2012 (EST)
::::I dunno, that sounds pretty made up to me. -[[User:Derik|Derik]] 22:49, 6 February 2012 (EST)
::::I feel like toys that don't obviously fit into only one continuity are going to be an increasingly common occurrence, since Transformers is exploding and continuity-nitpickery isn't Hasbro's deal, and I'm not sure I want to create a new continuity family every time that happens. That's why I was in favor of the Aligned designation for these guys to begin with, because Aligned as-existing is this mixmatch of styles that presents itself differently visually in various media as it pleases. WFC Prime is Prime Prime is RB Prime. I still feel like Bot Shots fits best into that world. --[[User:ItsWalky|ItsWalky]] 23:12, 6 February 2012 (EST)
:::::I agree. I think it's simply easier to default to Aligned unless it's evident otherwise. [[User:Interrobang|—Interrobang]] 23:23, 6 February 2012 (EST)
::::::Aligned-until-proven-different seems like a sane approach. IIRC Hasbro's made noises about Aligned being the new 'unified' continuity they're trying to fit everything into when possible. -[[User:Derik|Derik]] 03:02, 7 February 2012 (EST)
::::::I'm in favor of this approach. --[[User:M Sipher|M Sipher]] 05:51, 7 February 2012 (EST)
:::::::I think that's logical and is likely what we'll go with. The only other option I can see working decently is to put all the Bot Shot toys on the Bot Shots page. Making their subline/game more in portent than the fictional (without fiction) character they represent. I doubt we'll go with that, as the previous option seems more "our style" but just throwing it out there as one other way to go.--[[Special:Contributions/76.28.76.206|76.28.76.206]] 12:29, 7 February 2012 (EST)
I think it may be time to reopen this discussion. It seems increasingly obvious that these have little to nothing to do with the Aligned versions of their respective characters, nor with any of our other continuities. I believe it's time to split these guys off onto their own pages. - [[User:Shellspark|Shellspark]] 23:50, 9 June 2012 (EDT)
:I'm leaning pretty damn heavy now to having the Bot Shots be their own thing. Since we DO have character bios and a bit of fiction thanks to the online game... --[[User:M Sipher|M Sipher]] 23:52, 9 June 2012 (EDT)
How much parts reuse should be noted with Bot Shots? Looking at Brawl and the tank Megatrons, it looks like they share the same arm pieces, and it looks like Barricade and Mirage share arms, car bodies and legs... --[[User:Detour|Detour]] 05:29, 10 March 2012 (EST)
== Super Bots not better? ==

Compairing the stat numbers on Super Bot vs. Normal Sentinel Prime. I don't think the Super Bot is really "more powerful" at all. The Stats are different but that's all I'd say. Can anyone compair Super BB to Normal and see if they're the same as well? We might want to change that bit. --[[Special:Contributions/76.28.76.206|76.28.76.206]] 17:53, 12 April 2012 (EDT)
:Regardless of whether we take "more powerful" to mean having a higher total score between the three stats or to have one particularly high stat, the super bots are not especially powerful, SB Megatron is actually weaker than the launcher Megatron in both regards. Their overall scores are actually very similar to those of the normal or three pack figures. Sentinel presents an odd case though, his stats are noticeably higher in both regards. Perhaps rather than claiming that all super bot shots have higher stats it would be better to note that super bot Sentinel's (and only Sentinel's) are abnormally high. :Dead End converts from a modified red and black [http://www.carsbase.com/photo/Peugeot_9009_Concept_model_6893.html Peugeot 9009] concept car to a robot with a bird-like head vaguely resembling Hawkman's mask/helmet. Interestingly, while Dead End has no neck articulation, he does have a movable ''jaw''; the entire top of his head hinges backward, revealing a lower jaw and teeth. However, added plastic (most likely for safety reasons) makes his chest-plate unable to fold down all the way. As a result, many owners don't even see Dead End's lower jaw, and assume the upper jaw to be the entire head. It is possible to hinge the full head upwards by pulling on the lower jaw's cheek detailing.
==Notes==
* Before solid information regarding the name of the ''Revenge of the Fallen'' Scout Class toy became available, sellers of stolen [[prototype]]s alternatively referred to him as "Detour" and "Dead End". Eventually the latter name won out... but ultimately it turned out the name "Detour" hadn't come out of thin air either: Some European releases of the toy feature the name "Detour" on the cardboard insert on the packaging's front (the cardback and the instruction sheet still call him "Dead End", however). At least one sample has even been found at US retail, with a misapplied European insert.[http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/revenge-of-the-fallen-dead-enddetour-packaging-variant-167633/]

* From what can be gathered on the scout toy's bio, it seems Dead End is some sort of vampire that feeds on other transformers and that is awesome.
This thing is basically a list of info. Why isn't this a bit more organized, like on Wikipedia? And is the stuff about the Writers' Strike really neccesary? I'd edit it, but I do not appear to have that privilege. [[User:Jim Java|Jim Java]] 16:56, 8 May 2009 (EDT)
:Yes it's a list of info, because right now all we have is info. It's better than Wikipedia's page because it focuses on confirmed news only and not rumors, stolen toys and third-hand reports. Yes, the stuff about the Writer's Strike is necessary, since it did affect production of Revenge Of The Fallen. :In about a month and a half, this article will get a total top-to-bottom re-write, when... y'know... we see the movie. Till then, there's not a lot of point in dramatic changes; they'd just be swept away under the deluge of information that we'll have when the film is released.
:That said, I feel your pain. "Writer such-and-such has envisioned a storyline involving the Constructicons" seems like a ridiculous bit of information to have right upfront at this point in the game, when we've ''seen them in the trailer''. '''ETA:''' If you'd seriously like to have a go at cleaning it up, you could always set up a temp page somewhere. -- [[User:Repowers|Repowers]] 17:33, 8 May 2009 (EDT)

::At the same time, I don't really see the point of doing a page like the Wikipedia. We'll never be able to compete with them in terms of sheer information on things like production, and were are restricted by our rule of only using information that has been released by Hasbro/Takara, Dreamworks, Paramount and their partners (and they generally don't release much in the way of information). Besides, as I've understood this wiki, our focus is on the ''content of the fiction itself'' and ''the characters'' starring in it, which is what differentiates us from the Wikipedia. :I don't think that would make the article better at all. The article as-is is a list of things. Making that list into a big block of text is not going to help anything. Regarding the grafting of the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_F._Udvar-Hazy_Center Steven_F._Udvar-Hazy_Center] to the Boneyard: it should be noted that the UHC is in ''Chantilly, VA'', rather outside of Washington, DC proper. There is actually more space next to the hangar, where Jetfire would have exited if they didn't have the compositing transition to the Boneyard. However, while the area's grassy and flat, it's surrounded by small chunks of forest (see [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dulles_Tower_360.JPG], it looks right out over the hangar entrance he would have exited from), and is further connected to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Dulles_International_Airport Dulles Airport] in the distance. :) I can only assume they went with the visual assumption that "hey, it's a museum, they'd have lots of mothballed planes around, and what's there right now is boring", but that's purely speculation on my part. Should Devastator's various toy descriptions be revised? Majorish spoilers:<font color=black style="background:black"> In the film, there are at least two sets of constructicons, as they appear both as induviduals and as Devastator simultaniously, or else shown to be incapacitated to such a degree that the could not be a part of him. More importantly, the ones that form Devastator are not shown to have robot modes of their own.(although the supreme toy is still inacurate since Overload's vehicle is a clear part of Devastator)</font> The acuracy of the figures should not have been brought into question before there was something to compare them to.
Tom clearly states that they are of “the same exoskeletal type”, so other than it being Blackout who the image is compared to, there is no implication that they are the same one what so ever. The purpose of that scene was to show they are the same species, nothing more. As far as evidence in the movie goes, the Mars Transformer is no more Blackout than it is any other character.
Obviously the images do look similar, but then most of the transformers are similar anyway, (just try looking at silhouettes of the Atobot protoforms for instance), realistically blackout would be too big for the event; he would overwhelm the view and would have cast the rover in a much greater shadow. If anything it looks more logical to be Barricade. -Guest 15:21, 6 March 2008.
==Alt-mode Origin Contradiction==
It just occurred to me that there may not necessarily be a contradiction between Blackout getting his alt-form 3 years before the movie in the "Prime Directives," prequel comic, and the mention of how his serial number namesake got shot down in Afghanistan 3 months prior to the movie. He mentions in the comic that there "were no witnesses," in contrast to Blackout and Starscream. If this is true, then it's entirely possible that he scanned the vehicle without any humans noticing, and then both he and the helicopter he scanned went on their separate paths; Blackout doing the stuff he did in Prime Directives and the helicopter getting shot down in Afghanistan three months before the movie. --[[User:UndeadScottsman|UndeadScottsman]] 08:29, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
No, because they ARE autobots. Even if they don't say it, the toy states that he is one, and he is leaning more to the Autobot's side(well, prowl and Bulkhead anyway).--[[User:Grand-majin|Grand-majin]] 19:34, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
:Yeah but the exact same applies to Wreck-Gar. Just thinking out loud, so to speak [[User:GWolfv2]] 20.42 May 25th
:Wreck-Gar also made up his mind at the end if i'm not mistaken, he DID say he wants to be a hero, and was last seen with an autobot emblem.(unlike the constructicons, who pick sides with the ones with the best oil)--[[User:Grand-majin|Grand-majin]] 19:45, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
