==Synopsis==
The [[Titan (species)|people]] of [[Titan (moon)|Titan]] (one of [[Saturn]]'s moons), are slaving under the tyrannical rule of [[Jero]], the head [[astrologer priest]]. The time has come for the harvest offerings and the Titans bring their contributions to the feet of the statue of their "Sky God".

[[Talaria]], a rebel who believes in "reason and common sense", leads a revolt, shatters the statue, and exposes Jero for using the Sky Gods as an "excuse for high taxes and harsh laws".

At the same time, Cosmos is being chased through space by [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]], with [[Starscream (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Starscream]] and [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] aboard. Cosmos calls Autobot headquarters on Earth and tells [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] about energy data he gathered. During the transmission he gets hit and falls towards the surface of Titan.

The Titans have gathered around a fire while Talaria tries to convince her people that the Sky Gods are an illusion. At that very moment, Cosmos crashes nearby, and Jero, tied up along with his high priests, uses the strange event to reclaim his place as leader.

Astrotrain, Starscream, and Thrust land in front of the temple, overhearing the struggle between Talaria and Jero. Astrotrain spontaneously decides to pretend to be the Titans' supreme god in order to enslave them. Starscream protests, but relents without much effort.

Starscream and Thrust prop up the unconscious Cosmos in the temple as a new idol in place of the shattered statue. Astrotrain then removes Cosmos' data storage, and points out a disconnected cable that prevents the Autobot from calling for help. He fails to notice that Talaria has been watching him. Unseen by the [[Decepticon]]s she slips to Cosmos's side and reconnects the cable, re-establishing the communication to Optimus Prime on Earth. Prime tells her how to activate Cosmos' homing beam. In that moment, the Decepticons notice her, but she escapes, thanks to Cosmos who woke up just in time to fire at Starscream. Cosmos is, however, quickly disabled again by Astrotrain.

Back on Earth, Optimus Prime orders [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] to take a team to Titan and rescue Cosmos. Omega informs Prime that the trip will use up 97% of his energy, which will leave him unable to transform. The team includes [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]], who will discover what the energy source was, and Optimus himself intends to go. However, [[Red Alert (G1)|Red Alert]] warns Prime that as the [[Prime (rank)|leader]] of the [[Autobot|Autobots]], they cannot afford to let Prime be killed or captured. [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] goes in Prime's place.

On Titan, Jero leads the Decepticons to a cave full of energy-rich crystals. Astrotrain forces the Titans to harvest crystals and carry them to the temple.

In the meantime, the Autobots arrive, with Omega crash landing on the edge of an abyss. Jazz and Perceptor leave in search of Cosmos and his energy source. They meet with Talaria, who takes them to the temple and to Cosmos.

Before they can repair Cosmos, they are attacked by Starscream and Thrust. Jazz quickly gets the upper hand on Starscream. But Astrotrain has the Titans fire the crystals at the Autobots, and they have to retreat, leaving Talaria to be captured by Astrotrain. Astrotrain orders her to be sacrificed as a means to further intimidate the rest of the Titans.

Jazz and Perceptor soon find the crystal cave, where Perceptor notes the instability of the crystallized energy, as did Starscream earlier. They meet a group of Titans there who tell them about the sacrifice. While Perceptor takes some of the crystals to refuel Omega Supreme, Jazz heads for the temple to rescue Talaria.

He is successful, and he manages to hold off the Decepticons long enough for Omega and Perceptor to arrive.

The Decepticons flee after realising that they can't fight Omega Supreme. Before they leave Titan, however, they blow up the crystals, starting a chain reaction that will destroy the temple and the surrounding area.

Omega Supreme helps the Titans to escape over the abyss that surrounds the temple mount, and the Titans thank the Autobots for their help. Jazz expresses relief that the Decepticons won't be messing around with the Titans' religion again.

* Listen closely as Perceptor explains why Jazz using a rock to loosen up some energy crystals is a bad idea. He starts off by saying, normally, "Set off one crystal, and a chain reaction..." and then continues, "...will blow us all up!" in ''Jazz's'' voice!

* Starscream and Thrust are missing their transformation sounds just before they board Astrotrain to retreat from the planet.

===Continuity errors===
* Omega Supreme can go to Cybertron and back without recharging, but a one-way trip to Saturn will use up 97% of his energy? Of course, he just may not be at his maximum energy level from the start, but that isn't mentioned anywhere.

* The crystals are said to be dangerously unstable, yet Omega Supreme is able to use them to power up (with no ill effects).

* The aliens speak English! True, Beachcomber once tried to translate a bird's chirping ( in [[The Golden Lagoon]]), but here no one has to activate any special program to talk to the people on Titan.
** Then again having aliens speak an alien language would mean subtitles and a lot of complex stuff. Many shows have Aliens talking English anyway.

It would seem that this episode ''may have'' been originally written for [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] in the Astrotrain role and quickly re-written in order to feature Astrotrain (who was, not coincidentally, a new toy at the time). This would explain Starscream's deference (and apparent fear) of Astrotrain, plus Astrotrain's Megatron-esque dialogue.

*The inhabitants of Titan would never be seen again, but the moon would be [[Money Is Everything|revisited later]]. Apparently Titan had been "terraformed" in the meantime, which makes the unspoken fate of this civilization especially curious.

*Talaria is a really horrible shot, isn't she? When firing arrows at the Autobots, she manages to miss Jazz ''twice'' despite the fact that he's a relatively big target '''and''' standing in place. The way the arrows arc (as well as the fact that one falls before hitting Perceptor) also indicate that she's not even putting any strength behind those shots.

Back when Cybertron was peaceful, Grindor enjoyed entertaining his friends with extraordinary feats, such as lifting heavy metal boxes. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 3|Just a Memory!}}

After escaping from Cybertron, Grindor and several other Mini-Cons crashed on [[Earth]], where they woke up four million years later. {{storylink|First Encounter!}} While they initially refused to get involved with the Autobot-Decepticon war again, the Mini-Cons changed their minds after witnessing [[Rad White]]'s displaying great amounts of courage in order to save [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]]. Grindor raced into battle and fired on Megatron to little effect, but the distraction allowed Optimus Prime to summon Autobot reinforcements. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 2|Friends and Foes!}} After spending some time as [[Carlos Lopez|Carlos]]'s racing vehicle, Grindor and his friends on the Street Action Team were sent to recover a [[locator log]] from the wrecked Mini-Con ship. When they found it, they were suddenly attacked by [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]], who trapped Grindor under some debris. He offered his blaster to Rad, urging him to destroy the locator log before the Decepticon got it, but Rad thought of a plan to take out both the log and Demolishor. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 3|Deep Trouble!}}

The Street Action Team subsequently began watching their human friends from the shadows in order to learn how to fit in on Earth. As he witnessed Carlos trying to impress his friends with skating tricks, Grindor helped out by using his rocket-powered skateboard mode to let Carlos loop, grind and even fly. Unfortunately, Carlos was not pleased with his "help", as he now had to explain those crazy moves to his friends. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 3|Just a Memory!}} Some time later, the Autobots tried to send Grindor and the other the Mini-Cons back to Cybertron to keep them safe, but the plans fell through. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 4|No Way Back!}} The Street Action Team went back to playing around with their human friends, but were suddenly targeted for capture by [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]]. While the humans went to get help, Grindor combined with his teammates into Perceptor and did battle with the Decepticon. They were nearly defeated by their enemy, who was wielding [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]], but Optimus Prime arrived to save the day. {{storylink|Panini Armada issue 7|The Two-Edged Blade}}

When the Decepticons planned to wipe the Autobots out with missiles fired from the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], the Mini-Cons offered to surrender themselves in order to buy their friends some time. He's extremely adept at getting to the root of a problem and can handily disassemble most technological devices... or life-forms. Once the Decepticons reached the sea floor, Scalpel was released to assess the extent of the damage done to [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]]. After a cursory examination, Scalpel concluded that they would need spare parts, and ordered the death of the [[Ze little one|smallest]] Constructicon. Once he had the "donated" parts and the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]] shard stolen by Ravage, he rebuilt Megatron into a more powerful—and very much alive—form.

Later, at a factory in the same city as [[Sam Witwicky]]'s university, Megatron ordered Scalpel to examine Sam, in hopes of finding out what he had learned from the All Spark information downloaded into his brain. Using several ''extremely'' invasive techniques, Scalpel deduced that Sam's mind was definitely full of handy-dandy information. And the best way to get said information was to examine Sam's brain...while it was laid out on the table. Scalpel's attempt was interrupted by the timely arrival of [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]].

He found it somewhat frustrating, being vexed by human behavior, such as putting up traffic lights and then not stopping for them, and the resulting crashes.

One day, while he was driving through the desert outside a city after being agitated by such an incident, Mudflap was approached by the Decepticons [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] and [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]]. When Thundercracker opened fire, Mudflap transformed and fought back, summoning his new Cyber Key to deploy a blade from his crane arm. The battle continued until it looked like Thundercracker would win, at which point Starscream intervened.

Starscream told the confused Mudflap that the attack had simply been a test of his mettle, and he'd passed. He then lied to Mudflap that in this situation that both Autobots ''and'' Decepticons were trying to gain the [[Cyber Planet Key]]s to save the universe, the Decepticons merely trying to do so ''without'' caring about the humans. The puzzled Mudflap accepted Starscream's offer of Decepticon membership, at least for now, and became a turncoat. Thundercracker gave him a lift to the [[Fire dimension]]. {{Storylink|Race}}

The poor bugger found most of his time was spent training, and he would sometimes be deliberately left behind. {{storylink|Savage (episode)|Savage}} He eventually got to go to Earth with Starscream, trying to capture the Autobot's human allies (they failed) and having a brawl with Scattershot. {{storylink|Ice}} He was then part of a mission to capture the [[Cyber Planet Key]] of [[Jungle Planet]] {{storylink|Trust (Cybertron)|Cybertron}} and then got the illustrious honour of being trapped in a big ball by Starscream. {{storylink|Trap}}

Once out, he joined Megatron's all-out strike on Earth to capture that world's Cyber Planet Key and beat on Starscream. In the battle that ensued, Mudflap and Landmine found themselves facing each other; Landmine was horrified and appealed to his old friend to realise what he was doing. His second gimmick is his ridiculously colossal saw-blade - first, his crane arm is manually extended, opening up the Cyber Key slot in its side, and inserting the key then flips out the translucent green blade. When fully extended, the blade and crane are about three times the height of his body. Unfortunately, the management of the [[Dancitron]] nightclub doesn't like competition, and sends a mob after them. The trio grab their tape deck and flee, riding a wheeled dumpster until it's brought to a sudden halt. They're soon surrounded by armed thugs, but luckily [[Tracks]] and [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]] are in the city, and come to the trio's aid. While fighting the thugs off, Tracks is surprised to notice one of them is a man in a business suit.

Raoul introduces the rest of the [[Bop Crew]] to the two [[Autobot]]s, who say they're monitoring Decepticon activity, and now suspect there's something strange going on at the Dancitron. The pair enter the club and admire the immense sound system. Soon Blaster is dancing with an apparently blissed-out patron, while Track notes a number of oddly-dressed dancers—a garbage man, a middle-aged woman in a bathrobe and curlers, and a man dressed to the nines. In an upstairs booth, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] observe the two Autobots.

Meanwhile, the Bop Crew are taking an elevated subway train when it unexpectedly begins gathering speed. The driver, entering a hypnotised state, pulls the accelerator lever to full and smashes the control panel with an iron bar. Raoul pulls the emergency cord until it breaks, but the brakes are ineffective at stopping the train. Fortunately Tracks and Blaster happen to be walking nearby, and are able to halt the train. They find the sabotaged control panel, however the driver has already fled.

Tracks sends Blaster, Poplock and Rocksteady to check with [[Teletraan I (G1)|Teletraan I]] while he and Raoul go to check out the Dancitron again. On the way, the pair spot an active building site—somewhat of an odd sight at 1am, and even odder when they notice the workers are more inappropriately-dressed people, including some of those previously seen at the Dancitron. They're quickly spotted by the workers, and Tracks drags the gate shut to prevent the humans from attacking them, though that doesn't stop a workman on the building itself from firing red-hot rivets at them.

Poplock and Rocksteady are offered free tickets into the Dancitron and eagerly accept, believing they'll be able to investigate on their own. The duo enter the club and are soon hypnotised by the music. Arriving at the club, Track leaves Raoul outside and encounters the boy's two friends inside. They lead him to two Decepticons, who use the club's hypnotized patrons to ensnare him and bind him to the club's sound system. Starscream reports to [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] that the building construction is on schedule.

Having consulted Teletraan I, Blaster arrives at the Dancitron to find Raoul waiting outside. The pair enter to find Tracks, with Blaster tracking an ultrasound signal. Raoul encounters his two friends and, remembering Blaster's warning about the hypnotic sound, plugs his ears with a paper napkin. They chase him, and he soon finds Tracks, but is overwhelmed by the hypnotized dancers. As he soon discovers, the hypnosis can be broken by simply getting the victim [[Water|wet]], so he triggers the club's sprinkler systems, freeing the patrons from their trance. The Bop Crew swiftly frees Tracks and they pursue Starscream.

Blaster squares off with Soundwave at the club in a sonic "battle of the boom boxes"; the two are nearly evenly matched, until Blaster uses the club's sound system to amplify his abilities and drive Soundwave off. Tracks engineers a rain cloud which de-hypnotises the humans working at the building site. This also flushes out Starscream, who chases Tracks. The Autobot flies through the partially completed building, and the larger Decepticon damages his wing trying to follow, forcing him to retreat. Blaster arrives and uses the Dancitron speakers to bring down the building.

Tracks offers grateful thanks to Raoul and his buddies for saving his life, saying that if there's anything he can do for them... and it turns out there is. The trio lost their radio in all the chaos, and until they earn enough street cash to get a new one, poor Blaster will make an ideal replacement.

Spike and the Autobots throw a surprise party for Daniel, but it is interrupted by an attack from the Combaticons. Wheelie gets caught in the crossfire and Ultra Magnus throws himself over the boy Autobot to save him from being shot. After hitting the shuttle bay and destroying several ships, the Combaticons retreat. The attack was a coordinated effort by Galvatron to disrupt a peace conference to be hosted on Cybertron the next day.

Daniel and Wheelie want to throw Ultra Magnus a surprise party, but no one knows the date of his creation and it isn’t on file in the Hall of Records. An annoying and clumsy [[Library droid|library droid]] tells them that the information must be stored on the lost Autobot storage asteroid. Daniel and Wheelie steal a garbage ship and head out to find the asteroid and the info. Unbeknownst to them, their movements are being watched by Cyclonus, who evidently doesn’t have anything better to do than spy on garbage ships. Galvatron orders his troops to follow it.

Stuck in a meteor shower, Daniel and Wheelie crash on an asteroid that – surprise! – happens to be the asteroid they were looking for. While they are exploring they are attacked by scaly flying eels and take refuge in a cave, which turns out to be the opening to the records. Inside, sentry robots attack them for asking for the wrong file name. To make matters worse, the eels have found their way inside and attach themselves to Wheelie. Just as they are about to be shot by the drones and eaten by the eels, both menaces are destroyed by Cyclonus and the Sweeps, who take the pair hostage and interrogate them.

Cyclonus reprograms the asteroid into a collision course for Cybertron and then sends Spike a message that he’s holding Daniel hostage. The Autobots have two choices: destroy the asteroid and kill Daniel, or let the asteroid hit the planet and kill all the peace delegates.

Ultra Magnus takes Sky Lynx to the asteroid. The Sweeps attack, but Magnus makes short work of them, then heads after Cyclonus. They pound on each other as Wheelie sneaks by and presses the convenient self-destruct button. Cyclonus runs off and the Autobots and Daniel escape in Sky Lynx as the asteroid blows up.

Safe on Cybertron, Daniel explains how they got into this mess, looking for Ultra Magnus’ birthday. Spike declares today as Ultra Magnus’ birthday and everyone cheers.

While there have been other sentient Decepticon "cities," '''Trypticon''' was the first to appear in any continuity. His intelligence and personality vary between those continuities, from a plodding near-animal to an introspective killer with designs on Decepticon leadership. Also variable is his [[Scale|scale]]: He's always depicted as being very large, but whether that means being two-to-three times typical [[Transformer]] size, literally city-sized, or somewhere in between, is rarely consistent. One element that ''should'' be consistent, given how often it's referenced, is the fact that his eyes can emit hypno-beams that subvert the will of other Transformers. Strangely, though, he has never been seen to use them.

In some continuities, he is accompanied by one or more smaller robots. The only one to exhibit an autonomous personality is [[Wipe-Out]]. [[Full-Tilt]] and [[Brunt]] have merely been mindless drones when they've existed at all.

The only thing that is consistent is his incredible power. Only a few Transformers have been able to defeat Trypticon, and usually by outwitting him instead of by force. The only one who has a decent chance against Trypticon is [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]], and there is a great rivalry between the two cities.

He hates [[water]] more than any other substance in the universe, but that's mostly because he gets thrown into water a lot.

In the year 2006, Trypticon was built on [[Earth]] by the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicon]]s (with help from [[Octane]] and some other guy), out of a human city as the Decepticon answer to [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]] and as part of the joint [[Quintesson]]/Decepticon campaign to attack the Autobots on two fronts. Upon activation, Trypticon sent his former human occupants running for their lives, then destroyed a nearby mountain for no apparent reason. {{Storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4}}

His first mission was to attack the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]], defended by those pesky [[Mini Vehicle|Minibots]]. Trypticon shot [[Powerglide]] out of the sky, then shrugged off sneak attacks by the Minibot defenders (stepping on [[Swerve (G1)|Swerve]]) before leveling the Ark and the volcano the Autobot ship was embedded in. Destroying one [[Autobot]] stronghold wasn't enough, however, and Trypticon soon set his sights on [[Autobot City]] and Metroplex.

Metroplex was at a significant disadvantage, since he was without his [[Transformation Cog|transformation cog]] and thus locked into his battle station form, a weakness that Trypticon exploited. However, the timely arrival of [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]] and [[Wheelie]] with the cog allowed Metroplex to gain the upper hand, and Trypticon was forced to take a bath in the Pacific ocean. {{Storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5}}

With the Autobots believing Trypticon destroyed, [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] had Trypticon sent to [[Dinobot Island]] for recovery, but he was stolen by the [[Triple Changer]] [[Octane]]. Octane made a deal with [[Abdul Fakkadi]] of the [[Socialist Democratic Federated Republic of Carbombya]]: In exchange for the Carbombya's high-grade oil, they would guard the country's coasts. Unfortunately, Trypticon was extremely energy-consumptive, requiring a thousand barrels of oil to make an [[Energon cube]] for him. Worse, Trypticon actually didn't fire at invaders, but at passing cruise ships (though in Trypticon's defense, he actually did think they were invading). Octane managed to renegotiate the deal so they would steal monuments for Fakkadi. Initially, the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]]s and [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]] were suspected of the thefts, but [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] linked the crime back to Trypticon. Later, after [[Swindle (G1)|Swindle]] stole Metroplex's transformation cog, Galvatron dispatched Trypticon to destroy the defenseless city. Confident of victory, Trypticon decided to have some fun, eating a naval destroyer and menacing the passengers of a train. However, [[Silverbolt (G1)|Silverbolt]] flew into Trypticon through his mouth, firing all the while, giving the giant dinosaur a big tummy-ache. Forced to retreat, [[Daniel Witwicky|Daniel]] and [[Spike Witwicky]] stole Trypticon's own transformation cog, intending to use it on Metroplex, forcing the Decepticons to use Metroplex's transformation cog on Trypticon. The game of musical cogs caused both cities to stall between their two modes, but Trypticon was more combat-ready. At first, he laid the smack down on Metroplex, forcing ''him'' to take a bath, but eventually, [[First Aid (G1)|First Aid]] managed to properly align the Decepticon cog in Metroplex, allowing the Autobot to transform fully.
