Hailstorm was a member of the [[Rising Sea]], and was present in the bar when [[Flamewar (SG)|Flamewar]] eulogized their fallen captain [[Cannonball (SG)|Cannonball]].

Much later, Hailstorm continued to serve dutifully under Flamewar, and trusted his leader implicitly. He rolled into battle when Flamewar attempted to attack [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] in revenge for Cannonball, and fired a missile in an attempt to help the reckless Flamewar exact her vengeance. However, the ruthless Rodimus fired his weapon into Hailstorm's missile turret, blowing up Hailstorm and killing him. {{storylink|Shattered Glass II issue 4}}
