{{Nav-RescueBots}}
The ''[[Transformers: Rescue Bots (franchise)|Transformers: Rescue Bots]]'' toyline is released under [[Hasbro]]'s ''[[Playskool Heroes]]'' brand, the latest of many ''Transformers'' lines to be aimed at the preschool demographic.

Beginning in late [[2011]], the ''Rescue Bots'' toyline's initial offerings are noticeably divergent from [[Transformers: Rescue Bots (cartoon)|the cartoon]] that they inspired, featuring different robot stylings and a mostly different human cast. By year two (the line's ''Energize'' refresh), the line began to line up more stylistically with the cartoon, eventually adding toys based directly on in-show characters.

The line was later succeeded by a direct sequel, ''[[Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy (toyline)|Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy]]'', and two spiritual successors, the ''[[Transformers: Dinobot Adventures|Dinobot Adventures]]'' and the ''[[Transformers: Classic Heroes Team|Classic Heroes Team]]'' toylines.
===Rescue Bots===
* Released from 2011–2013, 2018.
The original ''Rescue Bots'' assortment consists of [[autotransformation|autotransforming]] figures, which can hold Rescue Gear in robot mode. These figures are larger than the later "mainline" toys. For the ''Energize'' [[subline imprint]], the original toys were partially [[redeco]]ed in clear blue plastic, and [[retool]]ed to include new rescue tools and additional [[5 mm post|5mm ports]] to hold them in vehicle mode.

In 2018, long after being replaced by smaller "Rescan" figures (see below), this pricepoint made a limited comeback (under the same Hasbro assortment number, no less), with the four core characters being re-released in new, more cartoon-inspired decoes. These releases retained the new accessories and other tooling from the ''Energize'' versions, and, curiously, the same individual product numbers too.
===Rescan Series===
Premiering in 2014, the smaller Rescan figures replaced the Rescue Bot assortment as the core product for the line. The assortment's name derives from the fact that the 2014 line-up gave the ''Rescue Bots'' cast new [[alternate mode]]s for the first time, although new figures of their original forms were eventually introduced over the years.
===Beam Box Game System===
Released in 2013, the [[Beam Box]] Game System is a basic video games console, inspired by the popular ''{{w|Skylanders}}'' model. The player places a static ''Rescue Bots'' figure into the eponymous "Box" and pushes a button, "transporting" the character into the video game. The "Expandable Starter Pack" includes the [[Optimus Prime (WFC)/toys#BeamBox|Optimus Prime]] figure.
A '''lance''' is a type of hand-held weaponry. Long and pointed, it is used to pierce one's opponent. It can either be handheld, to be thrust up-close into the opposing combatant, or a ranged weapon, thrown to achieve similar results over long distances. Several Transformers have been equipped with both types of lances over the years.
When thrown, lances are sometimes known as '''javelins'''. Other variations on the weapon include '''spears''' and '''pikes'''.

:''Heatwave is a heroic [[Decepticon]] first seen in the [[Transformers: Shattered Glass (franchise)|Shattered Glass]] [[continuity family]].''
[[Image:Heatwave bio.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Whenever I'm with him, something inside starts to burning...]]

'''Heatwave''' has a unique affinity for machinery. His strange powers allow him to converse—literally—with non-sentient devices, as if they were a fellow 'bot. He can command any machine, all with a simple touch of his hands. The strangeness of this gift doesn't quite register with the quirky, cheerful Heatwave, who perceives those unliving machines as sentient, and casually talks to and about them as if they were his drinking buddies.

Amid the strangeness that is the [[Primax -408.24 Epsilon]] universe, this bizarre talent hardly seems out of place, and his heroic [[Decepticon]] allies just shake their heads at his oddities. They're too appreciative of his talent in engineering and problem solving to look too closely at his eccentricities, or the strange otherworldly aura he gives off despite his strong loyalty to [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]].

Heatwave's gifts are but a hint of a greater destiny that he is unaware of—he is the torso piece of [[Nexus Prime]], created by [[Primus]] at the dawn of time to guard the multiverse's [[Rarified Energon]]. Unlike [[Skyfall (Cybertron)|his]] [[Landquake (Timelines)|four]] [[Breakaway (Classics)|gestalt]] [[Topspin (Classics)|brethren]], however, Heatwave is unconcerned with finding out about his destiny or his missing memories. He'd rather concentrate on the latest project to grab his attention than think about the past (or his lack thereof).

{{bigquote|I really don't like talking to your [[Internet|infoweb]]. I feel like I need a decon wash after every connection.|Heatwave|"[[Eye in the Sky]]"}}
==Fiction==
===Fun Publications ''Shattered Glass'' continuity===
[[Image:Heatwave TheDesertHeat.jpg|left|250px|thumb|Someone forgot to tell him that blue is the new red for Decepticon optics.]]
Heatwave was once part of the multiversal singularity known as Nexus Prime of the [[Thirteen]]. In order to prevent the power of the [[Star Saber (Prima)|Star Saber]] from falling into the wrong hands, Nexus Prime split himself and the Saber into pieces, scattering them throughout the multiverse. Heatwave ended up in the negative polarity universe. {{storylink|Out of the One, Many}}

Heatwave was a member of Megatron's forces when they attacked the [[Ark (SG)|''Ark'']], a ship the [[Autobot]]s built to help them conquer other worlds. {{storylink|Shattered Glass (issue)|Shattered Glass}}

Later, when the ''Ark'' was launched for a second time, Heatwave was among the Decepticons who joined the crew of the ''[[Nemesis (SG)|Nemesis]]'' to pursue and intercept it. [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]] ended up being confused by the fact that he didn't remember ever seeing a double of Heatwave in his home universe.

When the ''Nemesis'' was shot down over [[Earth]], Heatwave made use of his abilities to "talk" to the ship's computer, mentally assessing the ship's damage and rerouting some of the systems to gain enough functionality to help [[Starscream (SG)|Starscream]] evacuate the crew safely. He and [[Soundwave (SG)|Soundwave]] were then the last of the crew to leave in escape pods while Starscream and Cliffjumper remained behind to ensure the ship didn't crash in an occupied area. {{storylink|Do Over}}
[[Image:Desertheat-heatwavevswoodchuck.jpg|right|thumb|250px|"This is what I think of your Youtube video!"]]
After arriving on Earth, Heatwave tracked Soundwave's stasis pod to a [[Wyatt's Roadsideaganza|human tourist attraction]], where he had to dispatch some dangerous "lifeforms" and rescue Soundwave from being one of the attractions. After telling the stasis pod to repair and reformat his comrade, the two set out to gather Soundwave's cassettes that had landed nearby, find the ''Nemesis'', and reunite with the other Decepticons. {{storylink|The Desert Heat!}}

The two eventually ended up coming across [[Henri Arkeville|Professor Arkeville]], [[Sephie Beller|Sephie]], [[Will Hayes|Will]], and [[Rick Ottman|Rick]] busy investigating the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s crash site. After [[Ravage (SG)|Ravage]] frightened and chased the [[human]]s for a bit, Heatwave and Soundwave finally transformed and revealed their true identities. Heatwave convinced the humans that they meant no harm, while [[Frenzy (SG)|Frenzy]] explained their situation. They then all boarded the ''Nemesis'' to meet up with Starscream and Cliffjumper.

[[File:SGDemolishorHeatwaveCliffjumper DoOver.jpg|left|upright=1.2|thumb|These guys are unimportant to the mythos, honest!]]Heatwave went along to help out as they worked on locating and reactivating the other Decepticons that had landed on Earth in the pods. When they eventually found out that [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] and the other Autobots had survived their own landing and seized control of the planet's [[Global Orbiting Defense Satellite]]s, Heatwave was tapped to locate which military base they were sequestered in. He spoke with various military computers over the [[Internet|infoweb]] until he found [[Burpleson Air Force Base|one that didn't respond]], and thus was likely to have been rendered offline by the Autobots.

While the humans and other Decepticons infiltrated the main part of the base, Heatwave made his way to the satellite transmitter on the base's roof. Once there, he convinced the transmitter to tell the base computer to reopen the base and evacuate everyone, ripping the transmitter from the roof to get clear himself. He then had the controller turn one of the GODSes on the base to destroy it. Finally, he reluctantly used his hands to crush the controller itself—mournfully lamenting that it was a "brave transmitter that knew what had to be done"—which caused the primary GODS to self-destruct. {{storylink|Eye in the Sky}}

When [[Blitzwing (SG)|Blitzwing]] and Will came across the Autobots building a device in the desert, they hid and called for reinforcements. Heatwave arrived first and recognized the device as a [[stellar spanner]], explaining it was for long-range transportation without a [[starship]]. He didn't think [[Wheeljack (SG)|Wheeljack]] could get it working, as the "[[Alpha Trion (SG)|Old One]]" was the only being to ever build one, and rumor was that [[Optimus Prime (SG)|Optimus Prime]] had killed him before he finished it. Blitzwing wasn't reassured, so Heatwave offered to go "talk" to it. Blitzwing warned him to wait for the other Decepticons, but Heatwave was too excited at using his ability on a brand-new device to listen.

Despite Heatwave being large, heavy, and brightly-colored, the Autobots were distracted enough for him to sneak partway over, until he tripped on a crumbling rock. The Autobots, happy at the arrival of a "volunteer test subject", converged on him. He transformed and blasted [[Side Burn (SG)|Side Burn]] nearly in half with a missile volley, but Wheeljack and [[Goldbug (SG)|Goldbug]] trapped his turret between them, immobilizing him. They then forcibly transformed him back to robot mode, tied his hands together, and dragged him into the spanner. He struggled the whole way, sending Wheeljack flying with a boot to the head, but Goldbug shoved him in regardless.

Heatwave eventually freed his hands, but couldn't "talk" the spanner into shutting down, so Blitzwing hacked into it himself. Unfortunately, Wheeljack electrocuted him before he could finish doing so, and the Spanner sent Heatwave into space.

Heatwave survived the trip to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] intact, although it was unpleasant and dumped him face-down on the ground. He sent out a call for a rescue, which came in the form of [[Whisper (SG)|Whisper]], who was happy to see him. Heatwave filled Whisper in on the situation back on Earth, then started to follow him to report to Megatron...

...and was overcome with memories of the trip through the spanner, strangely involving [[Aquarius (SG)|rainbow colors; feelings of joy, compassion, and other pleasant sensations]]; and a message. When Whisper zipped back to tell Heatwave they needed to get a move on, Heatwave shook himself out of his reverie and followed, asking what "Keep on truckin'" meant. {{storylink|Blitzwing Bop}}

When the Decepticons on Earth built their own stellar spanner and contacted Cybertron, it was Heatwave who took their call. They were pleased to see he was alive and well, and sent up the specifications for the spanner so another could be built on Cybertron. {{storylink|Transhuman}}

[[Image:Heatwave Reunification4.jpg|250px|thumb|A rare instance of being drawn actually looking cheerful and friendly...]]
When [[Aquarius (SG)|Aquarius]], [[Breakaway (Classics)|Breakaway]], [[Landquake (Timelines)|Landquake]], and [[Topspin (Classics)|Topspin]] arrived at the Decepticons' base and explained that they were looking for Heatwave, Megatron sent [[Cyclonus (SG)|Cyclonus]] to fetch him. As he arrived, Megatron referred to him as a "skilled soldier" and said he hoped Heatwave could answer their visitors' questions. But before Heatwave could get a chance to do so, he was shocked by Cyclonus suddenly opening fire on Megatron. {{storylink|Reunification: Part 4}} {{storylink|The Coming Storm: Part 1}} Heatwave became angry and threatened to "crush the life out of" Cyclonus, though the traitor was led away before Heatwave could carry out his threat.

He then was convinced by the other four Nexus Prime members to attempt to revive Megatron, once they learned he had his own unique powers as well. As they started applying their energies to the body, Heatwave suddenly started experiencing strange sensations and visions along with the others, and exclaimed about being able to "see other worlds". Then he and the others were transported to a strange, white, featureless place.

There they were greeted by Primus, who welcomed them home and gave the now-reunited gestalt a choice: to die, live as they currently were and eventually fade away, or be reborn as what they were meant to be. Heatwave presumably chose along with the others to be "reborn", as Primus then commanded, "Arise, Nexus Prime." {{storylink|Reunification: Part 5}}

After being reborn, Nexus Prime found himself in a battle with the Autobot superweapon [[Omega Doom]]. When Omega shot a missile into Cybertron's sun, Nexus Prime had to follow to repair the sun before it went nova. The part of his mind that was still Heatwave wanted to stay on Cybertron to fight, but was overridden by the [[Skyfall (Cybertron)|Skyfall]] and Breakaway parts of him who knew that all of Cybertron would burn unless the sun was healed. {{storylink|Reunification: Part 6}}

Heatwave returned as part of Nexus Prime's components to stop [[Ultra Magnus (SG)|Ultra Magnus]] from misusing the [[Terminus Blade]]. {{storylink|Restoration}} Nexus Prime brought together the Terminus Blade and the united Star Saber, using them rewrite the rules of the multiverse. {{storylink|Out of the One, Many}}

After the [[Shroud]]ing, Heatwave was reincarnated as a natural resident of the negative polarity universe along with his teammates, now known as [[Breakaway (Classics)|Quakebreak]], [[Topspin (Classics)|Spinaway]], [[Landquake (Timelines)|Landfall]], and [[Skyfall (Cybertron)|Skytop]]. Working as a menial laborer, Heatwave seemed to have no first hand knowledge of his previous incarnation, although Aquarius apparently maintained the awareness to tell him the legend of the Prime of Combination he once was.

Heatwave and his comrades desperately wanted some quest to prove they were as worthy as the original Nexus Prime, and eventually stole the shuttle ''[[Buoyancy]]'' to make their own way in the universe. {{storylink|Coalescence}}
Heatwave transforms into a "Stompbox Mobile Missile Deployer" with a rear-mounted (non-firing) missile rack that turns and elevates. He also forms the torso to [[Nexus Prime|Nexus Maximus]] along with [[Skyfall (Cybertron)|Skyfall]], [[Landquake (Timelines)|Landquake]], [[Breakaway (Classics)|Breakaway]], and [[Topspin (Classics)|Topspin]]. He is also capable of combining with any "[[Powerlinx]] Combiner" limb-robot combination thanks to the universal connector points used for the [[Air Team]], [[Destruction Team]] and [[Construction Team]] toys.

:Heatwave has a minor [[design flaw]] in that the new combiner head is slightly too tall for the space it is supposed to occupy in Heatwave's robot mode. Due to this, the back chunk no longer pegs securely in place. Thankfully, the hinges are strong enough to hold it up anyway.
: Part of the second wave of ''Transformers [[Hero Mashers]]'' basic Action Figures, Autobot Heatwave is a non-transforming action figure with ratchet-joints, about six inches tall. He has multiple peg-holes all over that can be used to mount any ''Hero Mashers'' accessory.

: He is designed with a removable head, forearms, thighs, and lower legs, all of which use the same clip-peg/hole joint. *As mentioned first-thing in the fiction section, Heatwave made his first appearance in the "[[Shattered Glass (issue)|Shattered Glass]]" comic book story. Unnamed, he appeared only in a big crowd scene of Decepticons, just over Megatron's shoulder. His color details were a little different, since those likely hadn't been decided on so early, and it's not known if artist [[Don Figueroa]] was instructed to put him into the panel or if this was his own initiative. Regardless, fans were able to guess the unnamed character's importance by his color scheme and mold choice.
*According to writer [[Greg Sepelak]], the designation of Heatwave's vehicle mode as a Stompbox Mobile Missile Deployer is [[Withered Hope|yet]] [[I, Lowtech|another]] of his references to a [http://tmbw.net/wiki/They_Might_Be_Giants They Might be Giants] song, in this case the differently-spelled [http://tmbw.net/wiki/Stomp_Box Stomp Box].
'''Together with Ratchet, Grit, and Gigatron, Drift faces down Hellbat and the Stone Army in final battle.'''

==Synopsis==
Fighting side-by-side, [[Drift (G1)|Drift]], [[Ratchet (G1)/2005 IDW continuity|Ratchet]], [[Megatron (RID)|Gigatron]], and [[Grit]] force their way through the Stone Army and back into the chamber it originated from, where [[Hellbat (G1)|Hellbat]] waits for them. Loathe to destroy ''too'' many of the soldiers, lest he deplete the army before ''he'' can take control of it, Gigatron abandons his allies to take the fight directly to Hellbat, but the traitor activates a gigantic stone warrior which he had specially prepared to fight his former commander. While Hellbat is distracted watching this giant pummel Gigatron, Drift tries to rush him, but [[Vanquish]] appears and bars his way. A moment later, Grit tackles Vanquish, and as the pair grapple, Drift calls for Gigatron to help him. Granted a moment's respite while his stone foe rights itself, Gigatron proposes "maneuver seven" from the old days, and bodily hurls Drift onto the dais on which Hellbat stands. Vanquish tries to toss Grit aside and go to Hellbat's aid, but Grit presses their fight... and is stabbed through the abdomen by Vanquish. The Decepticon flier mocks Grit's decision to turn on the Decepticons, but with the last ounce of his strength, Grit stands by his choices, pulls Vanquish close and rips his head off, before collapsing himself.

As Drift looks around at the worsening situation, the nihilistic Hellbat declares that it is a kill-or-be-killed situation, trying to goad the ex-Autobot into breaking his vow to never take another life. Drift insists that Cybertronians are meant for more than killing, closing on Hellbat and tearing the control device for the Stone Army out of its mount in the Decepticon's forearm. Unfortunately, Gigatron has just defeated his stone foe, and turns on Drift in order to obtain the control for himself, even as Drift continues his attempt to convince Gigatron of the pointlessness of carrying on the [[Great War (G1)|Transformers' war]]. Forced to defend himself, Drift drops the control device, which is swiftly recovered by Hellbat and used to send every single stone warrior after Gigatron alone. With stone soldiers clinging to him, Gigatron stomps toward the laughing figure of Hellbat, who spreads his arms wide and demands that Gigatron slay him—a wish Gigatron gladly grants, as he slices Hellbat's body in two without compunction. Unfortunately, his blade also sinks into the computer console behind Hellbat, causing an explosive chain reaction that threatens to collapse the temple. Forced to leave Gigatron even as he vanishes under a throng of stone warriors still carrying out Hellbat's last command, Ratchet and Drift outrun the escalating explosions and escape the citadel moments before it crumbles to rubble.

As they regard the remains of the temple, Ratchet again asks Drift if he will return to the ''[[Lost Light]]'' with him. Drift explains that he has spent his whole life struggling to belong, and that regardless of what allegiance he claimed, all he ever seemed to be able to offer was the talents of a killer; having seen something of himself in Hellbat, he feels the whole experience has offered him clarity, if nothing else. Ratchet tells him that he is not asking him to come back to the ''Lost Light'' as an Autobot... but as his friend.

Some time later, after Ratchet and Drift have departed and the sun is setting over the ruined temple, the rubble shifts, and a still-living Grit hauls himself from the wreckage. Clutching his wound, which runs through his Decepticon badge, he pauses for a moment, and then discards the disfigured insignia before carrying on his way.
"You asked me before, whether being kicked out of the Autobots really had that big of an impact on me. A lot of my life has been about trying to belong. I didn't belong in the Decepticons. Then it seemed I didn't belong in the Autobots either. I honestly wasn't sure '''what''' I was after that. It felt like until then my only purpose was to be a killer for one side of the other. That all I could offer the universe was death. That's no way to live. Hellbat was so twisted by years of killing that death was something he thought he deserved. In some ways I know how he felt."<br>

==Notes==
===Continuity notes===
* Drift remembers [[Wing (IDW)|Wing]], the [[Circle of Light]] member who showed him the way to a better life back in the original ''[[The Transformers: Drift|Drift]]'' mini-series.

===Real world references===
* Drift's frequent comparisons to ''[[X-Men]]'' frontman [[Wolverine (Marvel)|Wolverine]] in his early appearances makes it very hard to see "Maneuver Seven" and not think "[[Fastball Special]]". In fact, the Fastball Special was originally called "Maneuver Seven" by Wolverine and Colossus in its first few appearances.

===Errors===
* In all the previous issues of this miniseries, Vanquish has been portrayed with a visor. Here, he is sometimes drawn with separate optics.
* Grit's speech bubble right before he rips off Vanquish's head should have a semicolon instead of a comma.
* As mentioned in our notes for [[Drift - Empire of Stone issue 1|issue #1]], it must be repeated here for increased relevance that the ''More than Meets the Eye'' prose story "[[The Sound of Breaking Glass]]" established that Drift ''voluntarily agreed to take the blame for the Overlord situation'' in order to prevent the great destiny he had foreseen for Rodimus being threatened by any potential repercussions the captain would suffer. As such, he shouldn't be struggling with any feelings of uncertainty as to his purpose as a result of that, because his action was the product of ''complete dedication to, and self-sacrifice for, the greater good'', not the wishy-washyness this issue has him profess he's suffering from, unless he suddenly changed his mind.
{{spoiler|Transformers One (film)|October 20, 2024}}
After witnessing Sentinel Prime's betrayal of the [[Thirteen|Primes]], the High Guard went into hiding on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]'s surface, taking refuge in a crashed Quintesson ship. Under the leadership of Starscream, the Guard continued to fight from the shadows to sabotage Sentinel. They eventually caught [[Optimus Prime (One)|Orion Pax]], [[Megatron (One)|D-16]], [[Elita-1 (One)|Elita-1]], and [[Bumblebee (One)|B-127]] tresspassing and, believing them to be spies, brought them before Starscream for interrogation. D-16 remained defiant and fought Starscream, defeating him and seizing control of the Guard.

Before they could launch an attack on Sentinel, his enforcer, [[Airachnid (One)|Airachnid]], found and destroyed their base. Taking D-16, B-127, Starscream, and several other Guard members prisoner, Airachnid took them to Sentinel's tower where the false Prime commended them for their ability to stay hidden from him for so long. Though Sentinel declared all the prisoners would receive a public execution, a siege led by Orion and Elita freed them all. In the ensuing battle, the Guard fought against Sentinel's legion of Death Trackers until D-16 managed to defeat Sentinel, tearing him in half.

To the cheers of the Guard, D-16 vowed to lead them into the future, a future where they would no longer be deceived. Renaming himself "Megatron", D-16 commanded the Guard to destroy [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]]. Their rampage was halted by Orion, who had been upgraded into Optimus Prime by the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. Optimus defeated Megatron and banished him and the Guard from Iacon. Swearing revenge, Megatron dubbed his new followers [[Decepticon|Decepticons]].{{storylink|Transformers One (film)|One}}
'''After watching waaaaaaaaay too many pulp detective movies, Chase goes undercover to discover Evan and Myles's latest plan, making the rest of the team wonder if he's turned against them.'''

==Synopsis==
[[File:BotsAndRobbers Bots caught by claws.jpg|thumb|left|250px]]
With [[Crawfish Week]] in full swing, [[Heatwave (RB)|Heatwave]], [[Boulder]] and [[Blades (RB)|Blades]] are watching a crawfish race commentated by [[Huxley Prescott]], unaware that a shadowy figure is creeping up on them. [[Chase (RB)|Chase]] grabs the figure, only to find it's [[Cody Burns|Cody]] in disguise. Cody explains he's playing the villain in the school play, a concept that confuses Chase, so Cody suggests watching some detective movies. Their crawfish race viewing is interrupted by the news of a break-in at the [[Griffin Rock natural history museum|museum]]. [[Evan (RB)|Evan]] and [[Myles]] are in the process of stealing a chunk of rock when the team arrives. The two thieves jump on their [[hoverboard]]s, and when Heatwave activates the anti-theft system, Myles uses a remote to turn the robotic claws against the rescue team. As the pair escape, Chase cuts himself free and smashes the claw holding Heatwave, but the two Bots are kept busy by the security system. Boulder manages to pull out the pneumatic cabling, deactivating the claws, and the team begins to search for the two criminals. Graham identifies the material they took as [[mechanite]].

[[File:BotsAndRobbers Evan and Myles steal dish.jpg|thumb|right|250px]]
Evan and Myles arrive at a remote abandoned building, where they plug the piece of mechanite into their [[Tech Wrecker]]. As Myles demonstrates with a calculator, it disables anything with circuits. That night, Heatwave finds Chase watching old detective movies and too busy for training maneuvers. In the morning, Cody looks for Chase, whom he thinks would benefit from practicing the play. [[Dani Burns|Dani]] finds Chase sitting in a darkened room, narrating everything pulp detective style and wearing a hat. Cody alerts everyone to the fact that someone's interfering with Huxley's broadcast, as Evan and Myles are stealing the satellite dish from atop his van. The rescue team rolls out, with Chase continuing to narrate. [[Charlie Burns|Chief Burns]] doesn't think much of Blades's suggestion Evan and Myles just want to see the ''[[Pets on Ice]]'' marathon, and wonders aloud what they're up to. The Bots try to create a road block, but the getaway car is only stopped by a tire-bursting laser. Evan and Myles promptly pile into Chase, whom Chief has left unattended. The others are surprised when Chase compliantly allows the pair to drive him off. Chief is unable to raise Chase on the comm, and Cody reports that they've driven into an area with deactivated cameras.

[[File:BotsAndRobbers Chase plays chicken.jpg|thumb|left|250px]]
The two criminals reach their hideout and take the satellite dish to add to their Tech Wrecker. While they do that, Chase checks out their base and finds a plan suggesting they're going to hit the laboratory next, however he finds his comm has been jammed so he's unable to alert the rest of the team. He's interrupted from investigating further by Evan and Myles, but he manages to convince the pair that he is obliged to follow their orders by hopping up and down like a chicken and repeating "Evan and Myles rule. The Burnses just drool." The trio head to the lab, where Evan and Myles send Chase inside to steal [[Floatium]]. He's able to bypass [[Trex]] simply because the dinosaur knows him, but accidentally trips a silent alarm. When he emerges with the Floatium and they head back down the road, they're met with a road block of Rescue Bots. On the pair's instructions, Chase repeats the insult they taught him earlier and crashes the roadblock. The confused team wonder if Chase has turned against them, though Cody thinks he's emulating the detective movies.

[[File:BotsAndRobbers Bots head for warehouse.jpg|thumb|right|250px]]
At the abandoned warehouse, Evan and Myles turn on their Tech Wrecker and spray it with Floatium, causing it to rise into the air. They activate a shield to protect Chase and their other electronic equipment. As the light from the Tech Wrecker spreads across town, it knocks out anything electric, and the two criminals head out to do some petty theft. Chase grabs the shield generator and heads for home. At the [[Griffin Rock Firehouse Headquarters|fire station]], emergency calls start coming in, and the team emerges to see the Tech Wrecker's beam coming closer. Chase arrives in time to shield the other Rescue Bots, though Kade's game of pinball is interrupted just as he's beating Graham's high score. The human portion of the team starts heading downtown on scooters to rescue people and stop the crime spree Evan and Myles have now embarked on, while the Rescue Bots, trapped in a bubble little bigger than they are, make their way awkwardly to the abandoned warehouse. Chief and Dani help [[Harrison (RB)|Mr. Harrison]] out of a tree and Kade extracts people from a lift, while Graham and Cody are attending to a crashed car when they spot the two petty criminals. The pair quickly apprehended. The Rescue Bots reach the warehouse, and after a brief discussion about trying to think like criminals, hit on the idea of using the Floatium reach the Tech Wrecker. The device is soon deactivated.

As Evan and Myles are marched into the jail, Heatwave tells Chase to let the rest of them in on his plan next time, and Chase announces he's going to help Cody practice his play.
==Notes==
===Continuity notes===
* The abandoned cannery was previously seen in "[[Feed the Beast]]".
* According to Heatwave, it wouldn't be the first time a Cybertronian has changed sides.
* Chase's lasers make a reappearance, and can cut through metal as well as solder wires.
* The Burns's scooter helmets are the same ones previously seen in "[[The Vigilant Town]]" in which they were coordinated with the hoverscooters use in the races at the beginning and end of the episode. They are, of course, also coordinated with the color schemes of each Burns's partner Bot.

===Transformers references===
* (tbd)

===Real-world references===
* Heatwave's question about the sharks being busy is likely a reference to the annual "{{w|Shark Week}}" television event presented by {{w|Discovery Communications}} (the co-owner of the [[Hub Network]]) on their various networks.
* The character model used for the detective in the film Chase watches is based on actor {{w|Kirk Douglas}}.[http://bighuggableteddybear.deviantart.com/art/Transformers-Rescue-Bots-Designs-Part-1-304386931]
* The title is an obvious ''Cops and Robbers'' reference.

===Animation and technical errors===
* (tbd)

===Trivia===
* We will now never know what to do when we find an unattended crawfish, thanks to Evan and Myles cutting off the interview with Mayor Luskey.
