When a potential nuclear war threatened to break out between Latveria and Symkaria, the Avengers were sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. to try and avert the crisis. Investigating, the Avengers found wrecked Doombots near a large dome structure of obviously non-Latverian origin. Breaching the structure, the Avengers faced off against automated defences before a black car kidnapped Spider-Man. Managing to exit the dome, the Avengers called in reinforcements. Before they storm the structure again, the Autobots arrived, Captain America ordering them to attack. Man and Machine, Part One

Faring quite poorly against the Autobots, the fighting was broken up by Doctor Doom delivering an electric shock to Wolverine, the tyrant explaining that the Avengers' heightened aggression was the result of a Psycho-Prism stolen from him by the Decepticons while Ratchet handed out inhibitors to block out the Prism' effects. United, the Autobots and Avengers tried to breach the dome only for Doom to storm off, finding the direct approach beneath him. As the Decepticons came out to confront their foes, Iron Man arrived in a Cybertronian scaled armor. Man and Machine, Part Two

As Captain America grabbed a Quinjet to deal with the airborne Decepticons, Ratchet, Luke Cage and Prowl broke into the Decepticon base. As Prowl searched for the Prism, Cage and Ratchet went looking for Spider-Man, finding him a prisoner of Megatron, super-charged by Spider-Man's power. Finding the Prism, Prowl was duped into lowering his guard by Ramjet allowing Doctor Doom to strike Prowl from behind. After the force outside had triumphed, Megatron and Doom broadcasted a demand for surrender, revealing their alliance. With neither willing to surrender, Megatron (after electrocuting Doctor Doom) emerged to confront the Autobots and Avengers himself. Man and Machine, Part Three

Deciding to cut his losses, Doom freed Spider-Man, aligning himself with the Avengers and Autobots. Outside, Iron Man challenged Megatron only to quickly fall. Within the Array, Spider-Man offered to enhance Prowl and Ratchet via the same mirror-response mode that the Decepticons had used, Wolverine offering his own blood to speed up the process, the two Autobots heading out with Spider-Man to confront Megatron. When Wolverine's group found the Pyscho-Prism, Ramjet abandoned his guarding duties, allowing the mutant to destroyed it. With the weapon gone, the Array collapsed and the Decepticons retreated. When Megatron tried for one last evil speech, Spider-Man took the chance to web him up only for Megatron to warp away. As the Avengers took stock, they found the Autobots had already taken their leave. Heading back to the Quinjet, finding its controls a little sluggish and with an odd smell. Man and Machine, Part Four
