Why's the car-hood on his back? does IDW BB have some faux kibble on his chest ala Fire convoy? X-BoB58 21:09, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Suffice it to say, IDW redesigned all the Transformers, even ones who didn't need it (they didn't even update Bumblebee's vehicle mode, so why change the robot mode?). However, I got absolutely no sympathy when I complained of this ATT, so I take it that most fans think that this is an okay change. I'll learn to deal with it.--G.B. I think it has to do with minimizing size-changing. E.J. Su seems to want his transformers to "work." A VW-accurate Bumblebee with the old transformation scheme would have a torso that's quite tall. The original toy didn't look so bad because the vehicle mode was super-deformed, but when using a real Beetle, he's not gonna look so hot. Su seems to have broken up the roof in two, putting the canopy on his back, the engine hood on his chest, and the trunk area for feet. I am not sure why he didn't rotate the torso at the waist, which would put him closer to his original look. --ItsWalky 21:38, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

And that works for lots of folks. Me, I don't really care if the Transformer is "realistic." I have to suspend my disbelief anyway. I knew that they wanted to update the vehicles to modern forms, and granted that already. But when I found out that they weren't stopping there, but were changing TFs when they didn't even update the vehicle mode, I felt I was lied to. But, as I said already, that's just me.--G.B. In fact, Bumbles seems one of the most redesigned when he needs it the least. Ah, well. I'd have said he was too 'classic' to warrant it, but doubtless others say the same thing about various other characters. C'est la vie. - Ratbat 0:00, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
