Is that a Decepticon symbol on Cryotek's shoulder? -- SFH 22:02, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Does this image actually need the "copyrighted by" disclaimer? Even as a derivative work (there's a faction symbol there, and the character is based on a trademarked character, modeled after a copyrighted mold) it's a stretch. I'd think if anything could go without the disclaimer, this would be it....--G.B. Blackrock 00:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

What are you talking about? This isn't a derivative work. This is an official Fan Club story. --ItsWalky 01:04, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
That's rather my point. The "Cryotektheft.jpg" image has the standard "This image © Hasbro, Takaratomy, or both" disclaimer. I question its necessity. Unless FP's bought the rights to it's usage (or Trent signed them over), I'd say we've got full rights to use it, without even getting into "Fair Use" doctrine.--G.B. What? --ItsWalky 02:19, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
I have no idea what you're getting at. FunPub allowed it to be posted on Youtube. That does not release it into the public domain any more than any FCBD comic. --FortMax 02:51, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
But does FunPub own the image, or does Trent Troop? I'm asking why we need a disclaimer here.--G.B. Blackrock 03:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
This is work done by Trent Troop for Fun Publications, the same way that Simon Furman does work for IDW. --ItsWalky 03:49, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
If that's the case, then fine. I was under the impression that this project was done independently, and FunPub simply provided the venue for its release. That's not the same as what Furman does for IDW.--G.B. Blackrock 03:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
