If anyone would be so kind, I'd like some help comprehending the Grand Mal's supposed "robot mode" in this picture. It looks like a lump with an appendage off to the right pointing down, and two long things coming off the front pointing up. --Crockalley 18:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- The central lump is the top of the head mode, front end pointing down, I think. Charitably speaking, one could consider that a robot torso, with the twin guns being back-mounted. The appendage at right would be the right arm. If the image moves to reveal a head, the other arm, or some sign of legs during the time it's on-screen, I guess that would confirm it as a robot mode. Otherwise, yeah, it's a bit abstract.--Apcog 19:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for that description! That is sort of how I saw it, but I wouldn't come across that picture and think "robot mode!" unless I was told. --Crockalley 20:41, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I very clearly see two small legs at the bottom. It's got a Crumplezone/Bulkhead aesthetic. As to your criteria, yeah, the other arm is there. I thought this was the best shot because at a three-quarters view you can see the thickness of the guns and such, and from the front it was all kind of a mess. The one thing I couldn't pick out was a head, but I can see arms and hands and little legs, so hey. Just as the head-mode looks like the control helmet, the robot mode looks a little like Megatron's encounter suit - same arms, same enormous shoulders surrounding the presumed head. - Jackpot 16:14, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm still not seeing legs in that screengrab; I see what might be hip joints if I squint a bit. Still, if the image does have both arms and legs that become evident as it rotates, all well and good.--Apcog 16:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- If I have time tonight, I'll get some screencaps of the turnaround. - Jackpot 18:07, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

So here's the robot mode from all the angles it was shown:
It's an odd robot, no doubt. The arms seem rather far-out from the shoulders, and if there is a head, it's EXTREMELY undetailed. I'd even be tempted to call it a "battle suit" or something, but that really makes no sense in either the context of the dialogue or the Grand Mal's actual manifestation. For the simplicity's sake, I'm happy to say "robot" and call it a day. - Jackpot 03:58, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
