Why was this pic "restored"? I thought I had discarded it on purpose. --ItsWalky 16:27, 23 April 2009 (EDT)
- Well, I certainly couldn't find any discussion about it. I thought it had been lost in the crash. Why did you delete it? - Jackpot 17:02, 23 April 2009 (EDT)
- I try to avoid putting profile pics down in fiction sections, preferring to use panels from the actual fiction instead. It's not how he appeared in the fiction, after all. The art didn't look like that. Furthermore, it doesn't give us any new information. It's just another picture of his robot mode, albeit in a different style. (Again, one not used in the story being discussed.) We don't see him doing anything in it, and so it doesn't help us understand him any better.
- Besides, more things we can leave exclusive to the Club, the better! --ItsWalky 18:39, 23 April 2009 (EDT)
- It's not "just in a different style"; it's the BW 10th Anniversary toy, which IS the body he had for the Fun Pub portion of the Universe storyline, which is why I uploaded the picture. Most of what we know about the end of the Universe war comes from the FP bio, and part of the story is that Primal's first Universe body (the one discolored by the Unicron virus) had sustained too much corruption from his raids inside Unicron, so Primus reformatted him into what you see here (the BW 10th Anniversary toy), which contained a Matrix of Purification for doing the same to other Unicronian victims. If you look carefully at the only other relevant image, you'll see the new body there too (note the feet), but thanks to the miscoloring and general crowdedness, you wouldn't realize it without it being pointed out. So I figured, hey, what better way to point it out than to put the bio pic up? It both gives extra meaning to an otherwise unremarkable toy and draws attention to this easily-overlooked bit of fiction.
- Oh, and I very much disagree that profile pics don't belong in fiction sections. If a character has a unique look in a given section, and no in-story art shows it well, then I would PREFER a profile pic over nothing at all. That's certainly the case here.
- The only point you brought up that I agree with is that we should be mindful of pirating Fan-Club-exclusive material willy-nilly. I think that this case is worth it for the reasons I just explained, but I'm willing to defer to standards if there are any we can apply.
