Maybe it's just me, and it probably is, but this image seems pretty useless. I mean, yeah, It's the title screen of the episode and all, but it's just japanese text on an orange gradient.--Carrion 06:31, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm forced to agree. This image really doesn't show anything at all. -- Dark T Zeratul 07:09, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough that it's not exactly what you'd call visually interesting, but it's the title card for the episode and that's what I've constantly been using to head up the episode articles I've created. I'm don't think we should break out of doing that because a few of them are exceptionally plain (and hey, if you think this one's bad, check out this one! - Chris McFeely 10:47, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've always wondered what the function of having these screen shots of the title cards it. I mean it's not like having the covers of comics which at least sometimes occasionally represent the events of the issue. With the title cards, it seems they're most just put on a sky background. Are they so the wiki readers know we aren't lying about episode titles?--Zodberg 11:05, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've stopped using title cards in episode recaps, I think it's more visually interesting to use images that have to do with the episode's story in some way, perhaps encapsulating the story into one image (though without giving away the ending). For example, look at what I used for Code of Hero, very poignant, if I do say so myself. --FFN 13:17, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- It makes a lot of sense for the Western shows, since the titles are just superimposed over the opening of the episode, but I think that when it comes to the Japanese shows, I've always stuck with using the title cards because they're (usually) a unique segment unto themselves, be it with an illustration that appears only there, or a still from the episode, or something like that (with a few really weak ones appearing like this one 'ere). It's like... if this was a Batman: The Animated Series wiki, I'd totally use those awesome unique title cards that episodes of that show had. They create these little segments to dramatically display the title (they are accompanied by a bit of unique music, too), so I feel that I ought to honor that. If that makes any sense. - Chris McFeely 20:42, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- And if that were the case here I'd agree with you, but in this case... Well, it's just the title over a gradient. And as the title is Japanese, most people can't read it anyway. -- Dark T Zeratul 23:42, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
