Those who know their military stuff can correct me if I'm wrong in assuming that this matches the shoulder insignia on Lennox here. --Lonegamer78 05:40, 18 February 2011 (EST)
- Sorry, my searches turned up jack. Maybe someone could ask at a military wiki like http://military.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page or somewhere similar. -- Semysane 05:42, 18 February 2011 (EST)
- I sorta answered my own question after following the bread crumbs to the Institute of Heraldry: US Army Element, Special Operations Command, Central. Now I'm curious about the color change, the shoulder insignia he was wearing at the beginning in the first film (unless it's just the same), plus which battalion/division/what-have-you he would've been in.
- Cuz I'm crazy about research that way. :D --Lonegamer78 05:58, 18 February 2011 (EST)
- I'd assume the washed out colours are to make the insignia less obvious. The camouflage would be less useful with a big red and blue insignia on his shoulder. Note that the American flag above it is in greyscale... and backwards, for some reason. -- Semysane 02:31, 23 February 2011 (EST)
- Makes sense for the patch to be a different color to better match surroundings. As to why the flag's reversed, it's standard for the flag patches on military uniforms to be positioned so that it'd be as if the flag's blowing in the wind as a soldier moves forward. If we were looking at the left shoulder, it'd be in the correct (left or normal) position. --Lonegamer78 03:28, 23 February 2011 (EST)
- Ah, cool. Canadian flags are symmetrical, so I'd never noticed it before. -- Semysane 19:48, 23 February 2011 (EST)
