Gérard Surugue (b. March 12, 1946) is a French actor very active in dubbing.

As a voice actor, he is the regular voice of Richard Kind, Martin Klebba (notably in the Pirates of the Caribbean saga) and one of the voices of Steve Schirripa.

In animation, his two most iconic roles are the voices of Garfield and Bugs Bunny. Also active in videogame dubbings, he is known as Rumble (no relation) in League of Legends, Colonel Victor Hoffman in the Gears of War saga or more recently Wainwright Jakobs in Borderlands 3.

Notes

[edit]
  • In a recent interview, he explained about the dubbing of Revenge of the Fallen that Paramount was so concerned about leaks that the first time he went to the recording studio, he could not see anything on the screen, just a circle with a black and white, blurred version of Wheelie. The only thing he had as a visual support was the [beautiful] mouth of his character. He precised that for every film, he had to come back three or four times to the studio, and for his scenes the background had changed, the color of the robot too, even the voice lines to record were different. Makes us wonder if he ever had the chance to see his character entirely.[1]
  • He dubbed Megatron for his cameo in the Family Guy episode "Tiegs for Two".
  • He also was born the same day as fellow Garfield and Megatron voice actor Frank Welker.
  • He meows better than a real cat.
