OPE is a drone from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

OPE (オペ) is a large drone stationed with Hydra on the fortress planet Porcupine. She is very much stuck with him, because he's an unimaginative jokester and she's the only audience around. She keeps count of how many times she has heard each joke and replies to them with the number of times she's heard them. Perhaps because combat is one of the few times Hydra doesn't try to be funny, in times of crisis OPE's value shines as she is quick to follow Hydra's orders and efficient in executing them.

Suffering another round of jokes that she'd literally already heard thousands of times, OPE urged Hydra to get to work dismantling a spaceship they'd brought down to Porcupine. Inside, they found an object that, upon contact, Magmatron identified as an Angolmois Capsule. Because the Gung Ho was already on its way to Porcupine, Magmatron ordered Hydra to protect the Angolmois Capsule until the Dinosaur would arrive. When the Maximal starship neared Porcupine, OPE followed Hydra's instructions for a plan of defense, sending out the planet's tentacles and missiles in concert and capturing the Seagull in the process. Although they failed to ensnare the Gung Ho, the Maximals couldn't land either. Things were going well, but, when Guiledart was teleported over, Heinrad and Colada came along. OPE was left to deal with the Maximals on her own while Hydra prioritized a battle with his old rival Guiledart. Not being much of a combat drone, OPE folded the moment Colada spit fire at her. The Maximals escaped with the Seagull and the Dinosaur's artillery accidentally hit Porcupine while trying to stop them. The planet exploded and OPE and Hydra were blown away as she had to listen to a brand-new but nonetheless terrible joke from him. Lonely Hydra

OPE and Hydra built a new Porcupine and again got their hands on an Angolmois Capsule. This time, Magmatron was less interested in the capsule and more in its use as bait to lure the Blentrons to Porcupine and destroy them. The Blentrons came, but they got past OPE's defenses and overpowered the Predacons. OPE prepared to contact DNAVI to get them all teleported to the safety of the Dinosaur, but Magmatron stopped her. Desperate, Hydra took the capsule and launched it into space to make the Blentrons leave. His reasons to stay eliminated, Magmatron allowed Archadis to contact DNAVI and have her teleport all Predacons to the Dinosaur. Pursue the Blentrons!

  • Ope (オペ) is the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Japanese abbreviated and contracted words|{{#if:shortened form|shortened form|Japanese abbreviated and contracted words}}]] of "operation" (オペレーション operēshon) in Japanese. This follows the same naming principle as that of OPE's NAVI peers, because navi is the shortened form of "navigation".
