Trachis appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Rodimus told Trachis of Scorponok's evil in using the Autobots' own rules of conduct to make them fight his battle for him. The student was fascinated, prompting the ailing Prime to tell him about Galvatron. When he heard how that Decepticon leader had sought to tarnish the Matrix, almost unleashing Unicron in the process, Trachis demanded to learn more about the dark god, but Rodimus kept him in suspense as he first described Shockwave's cold emotionlessness and Megatron's disregard for the lives of his own troops.

When Rodimus eventually recounted the third coming of Unicron, his student was contemptuous of his version of events, accusing Rodimus of making it up as he went along. Tearing off his Autobot insignia, Trachis told Prime that he would seek out Unicron for himself before showing Rodimus once and for all the true nature of evil. Rodimus realized to his horror that his own words had been subconsciously shaped by Unicron's spirit, in a ploy to turn the listening student to the dark side. Aspects of Evil!

Finally, his true colors revealed!
  • The one story featuring Trachis was originally printed in black and white. However, he appears in color in the German Transformers Extra Comic Sonderheft #1. Here he is blue, but since the Air Strike Patrol look like they have been attacked by Skittles, this scheme must be taken with a pinch of salt.
  • In the reprint published by Skybound Entertainment in which the previously black-and-white comics have been colored, the student is instead green with silver accents.

  • He was unnamed in his original appearance, referred to only as "student." "Trachis" came some two plus decades later in the pages of Ask Vector Prime, with the specific stipulation that he bore that particular name in Fun Publications' Classics continuity. Trachis (Τραχίς Trakhís) is a region in ancient Greece and may have been selected due to its connection to [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Ephialtes of Trachis|{{#if:||Ephialtes of Trachis}}]], an infamous traitor.
