I'm over here reading up on [Greasepit (G2)], and the note at the bottom points out the clear Racing Rig driver here. I'm starting to wonder if this might actually be our boy Solarbot, but I have nothing to back that up. Doesn't look like it. He's not a Cybertronian, anyway. He just copied Rewind's appearance to take on a physical form to communicate with the TFs. Though, he can be given the Battle Beasts Sunburst logo as an optional decal from the bonus sticker sheet. --Sabrblade 21:12, 22 July 2013 (EDT)

Flipping through the story again, Solarbot is given no allegiance. The closest he ever gets is when he introduced himself as "I am a Solar—" (he's cut off mid-sentence by Blaster), in which is likely would have said "I am a Solarbot", suggesting that Solarbot is less of a personal name and more of the name of his race/species. --Sabrblade 23:07, 24 July 2013 (EDT)

Proposed split

The way the "Solarbot" article is currently laid out misleadingly implies the Shattered Glass character is the Generation 2 character like Nasta Enemy to e-HOBBY Enemy when in fact we still do not know what the Generation 2 trademark was supposed to represent. In fact, the term "Solarbot" seems to imply an Autobot subgroup of multiple characters. I recommend a split between "Solarbot (G2)" and "Solarbot (SG)".

Nevermore has pointed out a hypothesis based upon catalogue listings that the "Solarbots" and "Solarjets" would have been the gang-moulded Flipchangers ultimately released in Machine Wars and Beast Wars II. Agreed. This feels like when we used to have separate pages for the Animated and G1 versions of Eddie Fairchild and Matt Conroy - the G2 Solarbot doesn't actually exist except as a trivia note, so it's just pedantry to give it its own page. --Riptide (talk) 23:18, 9 March 2023 (EST)
