Blazemaster: here to burn down the village to save it!
Turn and Burn
[edit]- Script: Robin Etherington
- Art: Jon Davis-Hunt
- Colours: Hi-Fi Design
- Lettering: Den Patrick
- Continuity: Revenge of the Fallen (sequel)
Cairo, Egypt: Reverb is on the loose, having left Bludgeon's militia and out to ride and riot... when a huge wall of flame blocks his path! Blazemaster is here to take him down! Unimpressed, Reverb returns fire and heads out. The Autobot responds by dropping a napalm bomb in his path which causes him to loose control and go flying through a wall.
Blazemaster transforms and lands, waiting for congratulations from NEST's team. Instead, an enraged Klammer tears into him for the destruction he's left across Cairo: they wanted a controlled capture, not something like this! The Autobot snarls back that this is who he is, a tough, job-completing type who doesn't fart around with second-guessings. Klammer, unimpressed, tells him that people are angry about the defeat at Blomfontein and all Blazemaster's doing is making things worse for NEST.
The Autobot flies off, sulking and going through news footage of humanity turning against the Autobots. He decides he's finished with Earth and his talents are wasted here. However, trailing him is Skywarp, and over Spain Skywarp is ordered by Bludgeon to engage! Blazemaster saw him coming though, leading him through a cloud bank and then ambushing him from behind after he emerges! Irritated, he fires back with missiles; the Autobot outmanouvres them into colliding, but this still forces him to land. He growls at Skywarp to bring it...
But Skywarp says he wasn't here to fight. No, Bludgeon saw what a great job he did taking out the traitor Reverb and since they're autonomous from the wider Decepticons, Skywarp was sent to invite Blazemaster into their militia! The Autobot is horrified and says they're the enemy, and that whatever he is he's still the solution and not the problem. Skywarp shrugs and flies off, saying the offer remains open: Blazemaster has all the credentials to join...

Quotes
[edit]"No need for 'thank yous', but all testimonials welcome."
- —Blazemaster has no idea what's coming...
"This is me. This is how I am. Learn to live with it or get out of my face."
"Thing is, Blazemaster, since the breakout ... public support has been solidly against us. People are angry, and you... are just pouring gasoline on the flames!"
- —Blazemaster and Klammer
"Join... you? But -- you're the enemy!"
"That, Blazemaster, is just a matter of perspective."
"I -- no... never! Whatever I am, it's not you. I'm the solution not the problem."
- —Blazemaster and Skywarp
"This is who you are, Blazemaster, you've got all the credentials... learn to live with it!"
- —Skywarp
Errors
[edit]- Klammer's speech about the breakout is split across three balloons, but is continuous... except the first balloon ends with a full stop instead of a "...".
- Skywarp is coloured like a purple Dirge in the first few panels we see him.
Notes
[edit]- Etherington continues Furman's Bludgeon plot.
- Reverb both talks for the first time and uses a hologram "rider".
- The strip ends with "(Not) The End". Dun dun dunn...

Law and Disorder
[edit]"'Sign up', they said. 'Be a Decepticon', they said. 'Oppress the universe', they said. Pah!"
- —Barricade
"If I had a Sparkcore for every time you've reminded me of the time Bumblebee got lucky, I could build an army of Combaticons. Then we'd see who was still laughing, or even still standing!"
- —Barricade
"I suspect the Fallen could have [transformed] into whatever he wanted..."
"Until Optimus tore his head off."
- —Barricade and Ironhide
"Quite why an alien robot needs a pet human is anyone's guess. Bumblebee has a pet human, and he was captured by Sector Seven and tortured. Hmmm, just remembering that fact has cheered me up immensely!"
- -Barricade
Notes
[edit]- Someone asks Barricade "what are the names of the three motorcycles?". "Reports differ on who you ask", says Barricade, who is as confused about ROTF Arcee as we are.
