Transformers United

Transformers United (トランスフォーマー ユナイテッド Toransufōmā Yunaiteddo) is a Japanese TakaraTomy toyline initially comprising redecos from Hasbro's Classics, 2010 Transformers, and Generations toylines, later expanding its focus to become something of a dumping ground for molds from the Unicron Trilogy and the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary line which have never previously been released by Takara. Much like TakaraTomy's release of the Transformers Animated toyline, some of these Japanese versions have glossy metallic paint jobs. As a continuation of a marketing strategy introduced during the 2007 live-action movie toyline, most of the characters retain their American names.

In 2012 several Asian-market (excluding Japan) releases were produced under United, consisting of redecoes likely meant to fill in "holes" in collectors' collections.

Also in 2012, the line received a spin-off in the form of United EX, oddly consisting entirely of (expensive) redecos of Power Core Combiners figures in an adventure set in Japanese cartoon continuity, occurring simultaneous with the events of Operation Combination. Don't ask us.

Fiction

• A comic series in Million Publishing's latest Transformers Generations volumes, including "A New Battle!" and "The Fierce Fighting on Planet Nebulos".
• Macrocosmic Seekers, a series of prose stories taking place during the Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers (franchise)#Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers 2010 season of the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity.
• An extended toy commercial giving descriptions of all the first-wave characters. Though light on continuity, it does show the War-for-Cybertron-based toys scanning into Generation 1-based modern Earth forms, a connection not made explicit in any other United fiction.
