''Born in Manhattan, [[New York (state)|New York]], Carlton Cahnay lived a comfortable life as the son of a racecar driver and a hotel heiress. The only thing he lacked were friends as his parents dragged him across the globe. What he truly liked were the experimental tanks built by [[Symultech Industries]], a subsidiary of his mother's company [[Hybrid Technologies|HyTech]]. He thus joined the [[United States Army]], fitting in well to military life.''

In addition to multiple mentions of a "flighty hotel heiress", his first name is taken directly from her surname.
