Bolt of was one of the many [[beast mode]] Transformers who had been kidnapped and subsequently "[[Domestication|domesticated]]" by the [[Decepticon]] [[Demus]]. Intended to be sold off as a "[[Roboid]]" torture doll, Bolt and his fellow prisoners were freed thanks to [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]] and the [[Scavenger (group)|Scavenger]]s. {{storylink|Animals}} Maximus brought them back to [[Luna 1]], where the surgeon [[Cerebros]] began repairing their internal injuries. Once he had regained his higher faculties and the ability to return to his [[robot mode]], Bolt asked Fortress Maximus if he could return to [[Iacon]], which he had always considered his true home. Maximus, though upset, obliged, and Bolt returned home by [[space bridge]] (although not without gently reprimanding the Dutifully Appointed Enforcer about respecting his personal space.) {{storylink|Ten to Midnight}}
