When the [[Bee Team (RID)|Bee Team]] dogpiled [[Heatseeker]] to keep the [[Stunticon (Prime)|Stunticon]] from firing missiles at a nuclear waste disposal site, he fired anyway. The combination of the explosion, ambient radiation, and the Crash Combiner Stunticon at the bottom of the bot-pile resulted in the Autobots being fused briefly into a combined, unconscious form, which quickly wore off. {{storylink|King of the Hill (Part 2)}}

During the pursuit of [[Dragstrip (WFC)|Drag Strip]], a methane explosion triggered a second merging. The confused Autobots were eventually able to stand up, but decoupled once again when they fell over. Bumblebee later asked [[Fixit (RID)|Fixit]] to come up with theories on why they might have combined, and he suggested it was a result of the radiation they absorbed from the nuclear waste site. {{storylink|The Great Divide}} Fixit later ran tests on Sideswipe and Grimlock to try and determine the nature of Ultra Bee's combination, but only succeeded in getting the two Autobots stuck together, much to their annoyance. {{storylink|Get a Clue}} Later he managed to briefly fuse Sideswipe and Grimlock into [[:File:RiD2015 Out of the Shadows Sidelock.jpg|a "Sidelock" combined form]], with Grimlock, to his annoyance, still on the bottom. {{storylink|Out of the Shadows}}

:Released as part of the Team Combiners subline, Ultra Bee is a 4-pack consists of the Deluxe-sized [[Bumblebee (WFC)/toys#Team Combiners|Bumblebee]], [[Grimlock (RID 2015)#Team Combiners|Grimlock]], the Scout-sized [[Strongarm (RID)#Team Combiners|Strongarm]], and [[Sideswipe (RID)#Team Combiners|Sideswipe]]. While the 2 bots had simple robot-to-vehicle transformations, Bumblebee and Grimlock have several. However, unlike several [[Menasor (RID)#Robots in Disguise (2015)|Team]] [[Galvatronus (RID)#Robots in Disguise (2015)|Combiners]], Ultra Bee is a 4-piece Combiner, with Bumblebee & Grimlock forming the main body, and Strongarm and Sideswipe forming the arms. The set also comes with a ''non-transforming'' sword that is actually Drift's weapon form for the Combiner.
