Oddly enough, the Hasbro version names Ginrai as the small Titan Master partner. In comparison to ''Legends'' Ginrai's deco, Magnus Prime features a blue crotch and truck windows, and his Autobot insignias on his truck kibble are enlarged and moved to the center, and his guns are entirely painted in one color with the handles being unpainted. His Titan Master's head and legs are now blue. As a redeco of the said retool, Magnus Prime can combine with ''Legends'' [[Godbomber#Legends|Godbomber]]. Although the stock renders and promotional photos shows that the upper section of the waist painted red, the final product is unpainted.

In the United States, this set was exclusive to [[BigBadToyStore]], but it saw a wider release in Canada where it was available at [[Toys"R"Us]], [[Amazon (website)|Amazon]], the Canadian [[Walmart]] online store, book store chain Indigo and several PC retailers (seriously!). Additionally, it was also available at retail in Hong Kong and Singapore and even saw an official release in the Netherlands, where it was exclusively available from BOL.

It appears as though Magnus Prime was originally intended to be [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], but was changed during development to be either [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]]'s [[transtector]] or the sentient robot [[Ginrai (robot)|Ginrai]] instead.

Leaked documents described by the TransMissions podcast,<ref>[https://www.transmissionspodcast.com/2016/03/transmissions-episode-157-feedback-frenzy TransMissions #157], segment begins 43:16</ref> before anything official was known of the Siege on Cybertron box set, apparently  included a blue "''[[Diaclone]]''" redeco of Powermaster Optimus Prime labelled "Magnus Prime (Super Ginrai)". Further details are unclear, but "blue ''Diaclone'' colors" in this context presumably referred to the Powered Convoy toy that was redecoed to become the original Ultra Magnus figure, and which has since inspired [[Delta Magnus]] and [[Magna Convoy]]. The Siege on Cybertron box set still calls him a City Commander, which was the rank used by the original Ultra Magnus toy. However, there's also an [[Ultra Magnus (G1)/toys#Titans_Return|Ultra Magnus Titan Master]] figure created to be shipped in the same Strength/Intelligence/Fireblast/Speed matrix as the rest of the Siege on Cybertron/Chaos on Velocitron toys. Hasbro's [[John Warden]] stated in an interview it is not Ultra Magnus.<ref>John Warden stated in an [https://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/transformers-titans-return-product-reveals-news-updates-rumors-leaks-and-more--p1911385.php#p1911385 interview], "No he’s not Ultra Magnus." and "No it’s not Ultra Magnus."</ref> 

In the same interview, John Warden stated that the figure was intended to be Ginrai,<ref>John Warden stated in the interview above, "That was when we were going to naming the characters and we couldn’t call him Ginrai, so I wanted to make sure that when we worked with the copyright team, that we chose a name that was accessible to maybe a casual fan?" and "Our intention was that is essentially Ginrai but without saying it."</ref> and further suggested that the figure belonged with [[Optimus Prime (G1)|"Generation 1" Optimus Primes]] or [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|''Armada'' Optimus Prime]].<ref>John Warden stated in the interview above, " So using a name like Magnus Prime it kind of feels like it’s a step up from Optimus Prime?" and "No I would say put him with Optimus Prime, or the Combiner Wars Optimus, like it’s in that zone, or the 2000’s Armada."</ref> Further confirmation came when his Titan Master partner was revealed by [[Trypticon's Titan Master Crunch]] as [[Ginrai (human)#Generations|Ginrai]].
