Sweep #7 was (presumably) created by Unicron from the remains of fallen Decepticon warriors, following the Decepticons' failed assault on [[Autobot City (G1)|Autobot City]]. {{storylink|The Transformers: The Movie}}

With other Decepticons, Sweep #7 participated in an attack on [[Outpost One]]. After they destroyed the station, they encountered [[Blurr (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Blurr]] and [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]], eventually fighting them in [[Jupiter]]'s atmosphere. [[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]] used his firepower to charge a storm cell, unleashing an energentic tornado that caused Sweep Seven's audio sensors to overload.<ref>In the Japanese dub, this was changed into this Sweep claiming he couldn't breathe. After losing track of them for a few, the hunters finally found their prey and boarded the shuttle. Unfortunately for the Sweeps, they had interrupted the story Kup was telling the Dinobots to keep them entertained in the downtime. Sweep No. 7 was a bit stupid, and always gasped for breath, despite not needing to breathe as a robot. {{Storylink|LG-26 Scourge Prologue}} He and the other Sweeps were caught up in [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]'s black hole explosion that caused their bodies to shrink, forcing them to become [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]]. The affected Decepticons travelled to the [[Legends World]], where they teamed up with [[Tera-Kura Co.]] {{storylink|Headmaster Chapter Prologue}} The Sweeps became part of the company's official hierarchy, working under Scourge, {{storylink|Legends Comic: Bonus Edition Vol. 22|Bonus Edition Vol. 22}} and participated in an introductory lineup for [[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]], where No. 7 was said to have [[Ken Yamaguchi|the voice]] of [[Blurr (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Blurr]]. {{Storylink|LG-26 Scourge Prologue}} Despite being relegated to janitorial duties, the Sweeps got new [[transtector]] bodies after striking a deal with [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] to kidnap [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] for him. When Scourge powered himself up using Trion, the Sweeps grew jealous and swarmed his transtector in an attempt to get a piece of the cake.
