Years later, when the supernatural entity known as [[Violengiguar]] took command of the Decepticons, his first act was to recruit [[Nine Great Demon Generals]] from Decepticon history. The Seacons in the form of King Poseidon were selected to be one of those Generals and King Poseidon was given the rank of Oceanic Fish General as well as new power and weaponry to make him an even greater threat than before.

King Poseidon was sent to [[Earth]] along with [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]], and [[Predaking (G1)|Predaking]] to steal the [[Zodiac]] necessary for Violengiguar's schemes. The mysterious energy source was located beneath the planet's surface by new Autobot commander [[Dai Atlas (G1)|Dai Atlas]] and stolen by Devastator, but as Dai Atlas attempted to chase him down, King Poseidon struck, emerging from a nearby subterranean lake and ensnaring Dai Atlas with a chain. Devastator handed the Zodiac off to King Poseidon, who returned to the surface with it, where he was attacked by [[Sonic Bomber (G1)|Sonic Bomber]] and forced to hurl the Zodiac out of his reach. Unfortunately for the villains, Dai Atlas was the one who caught it, prompting Trypticon to fire a beam of Energon Z at the heroes. The Energon Z interacted with the Zodiac, which empowered Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber with its energies, transforming them into powerful new "Zone Modes". Later, King Poseidon, Trypticon, Predaking and Devastator were directed to attack Earth in search of the mysterious "Zodiac", in order to create the super-energy Violengiguar needed for his schemes. They were pursued to the planet by the Autobot [[Powered Master]]s Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber but while, Dai Atlas was occupied in a subterranean battle with Devastator, King Poseidon located and absconded with the Zodiac. Dai Atlas pursued him back to Earth's surface, where both sides grappled for possession of the Zodiac until Trypticon fired a beam of [[Energon Z]] at the Autobots. All members are identical to their US releases, just like with their American counterparts' release, each Seacon can transform into robot or sea creature, with the Seacon drones—Overbite, Gulf, Lobclaw, Kraken, and Tentakil—transforming into their Targetmaster weapon forms, and can combine into [[King Poseidon#Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers|King Poseidon]], with sixth member becoming the weapon, via  [[Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers (toyline)|Scramble City]]-style.

:The Seacons return in the [[Transformers: Generations#Selects|Generations ''Selects'']] line, with many of them being retools of the ''[[Power of the Primes (toyline)|Power of the Primes]]'' [[Terrorcon (G1)#Generations|Terrorcons]], Tentakill being the exception. The hands and feet for King Poseidon are specially molded with full articulation, and homaging the original toys, there are six Seacons, one voyager and five deluxes. Turtler can form King Poseidon's torso, while a "selected" (see what we did there?) 4 deluxes form the limbs. The combiner hands developed for the set are tooled to connect into a deluxe combiner peg, allowing the remaining deluxe figure to form a gun for the giant Decepticon. All six include melee weapons and guns that combine into a giant sword and a giant gun for King Poseidon respectively.

:The Seacons were released in Japan as [[TakaraTomy Mall]] exclusives, both could be ordered individually and in three waves of 2.

* Until the ''Super-God Masterforce'' release of the Seacons, every Decepticon-aligned combiner team sold in Japan had had their group suffix changed from -con to -tron or -ron (i.e., [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcon]] to Terrortron) in order to line up with "Destron", the Japanese name for the Decepticons. However, for some reason this suffix change did not happen with the Seacons, making them the only Decepticon combiner team in Generation 1 to have the same group name in both English and Japanese markets. Their Japanese name is also always presented in the plural form; Turtler is the "Seacons Commander", for example.
*The team has the distinction of having their own [[image song]]: the bizarrely cheerful and cheerfully bizarre "[[See See Seacons]]".
*Despite never utilizing them in the cartoon, the Seacons all had individual [[robot mode]] models made that were different to the US [[Seacon (G1)|Seacon]] character models used in the [[The Transformers (Marvel comic)|Marvel comics]] and [[commercial]]s.
